I used to love this café -- we had many meetings here before. The food was always delicious, and the atmosphere was very pleasant. But something has changed. I hadn't visited for more than six months, and we recently came back for a business meeting. We ordered a salmon toast and coffee, and when the food arrived, I was shocked. The ingredients looked like they were just thrown together, and the presentation was very unappealing. I asked them to remake the toast, but the second one was even worse. The bread was burnt, and there was only a very small piece of salmon, not to mention almost no filling. I will not be coming back and cannot recommend this place to anyone. Please improve -- your location is great, and I would have loved to keep coming here, but now I remember our meal with disappointment. We ordered two coffee- a cold brew with lavender for me and toasty pumpkin latte for him. He got a chocolate chip caramel cookie and I got a nutter butter cookie. Love the mocha latte visited multiple times just to get that. Today I got the chocolate chip salted caramel cookie boy was it yummy. The reason for the 4 star is my daughter spent over $20 on her breakfast she got the breakfast burrito and it wasn't even hot like I mean the cheese had melted when it was originally made and had turn firm again. She also had the latte much she liked. She made several comments during breakfast about it not being hot and not enjoying it as usual. She is 24 and I couldn't get her to go up and tell them. I've been here through many coffee shops preceding Southern Grounds, including Lillie's etc. and I'm very happy that Southern Grounds has a beach presence. They have one the of best coffee shop menus that I know of and the staff is always friendly and timely. The shop is large and has plenty of seating, although you may need to venture outside on a weekend morning to grab a table. This time I ordered a chai latte with oat milk and the salmon toast, topped with herb cream cheese, smoked salmon, red onion, cucumber, and fresh dill on pumpernickel. Absolutely fantastic! I wish there was more salmon on top but it was a great dish that I'll be looking to recreate at home. It is our first time and we got to finally sit outside an enjoy some music from down the street from Sliders. Sliders will be out next stop, real soon. Our brekafast was divine. My first time visiting this location! And first review of any of them. Came to meet a friend. Ordered a jasmine green tea - iced, (because hot in this weather seems insane) and goodness! This is the most jasmine flavored jasmine tea I've had and it made my whole day. It was so refreshing! It took some time because they brew it hot and pour over ice. It is well worth the time to brew. The service was wonderful. Each employee was polite and welcoming. I saw outside and it was great! They have so much seating out there. Somehow, it also blocks out the noise of the surrounding restaurants and such. It is a lovely little oasis. Highly recommend for a place to sit for a drink and do a little work or hang with a friend. The gentleman suggested that I try a London fog, something I've never had before, but it's an Earl Grey with heated cream, absolutely delicious. We visited during the sidewalk art show night and got hot drinks. I enjoyed a hot almond milk chai latte, and my boyfriend got a mocha latte and we shared a snickerdoodle.
