I've come here a few times to do some work. I really like their outdoor courtyard area to work but lately it's been so hot that I've just been working inside. I always order some of their healthier Mediterranean options like the bowl or hummus and they are presented really nicely, which is good. The only thing is there are so many flies in the shop and I know people are constantly going in and out, but it's kind of unsanitary feeling, but overall the food is good and it taste fresh so I can't complain on that front! read more

We visited the Southern Grounds location in St. Augustine the day before coming here, and that location truly stood out for its atmosphere and service. Unfortunately, the Neptune Beach location didn't quite have the same charm, and our drinks weren't as good compared to what we had the day prior. That said, I still enjoy Southern Grounds overall and appreciate it far more than the typical corporate coffee chains. Wandered over to this place which is also on the JAX coffee donut trail. It's got outdoor seating and indoor seating. You order at the counter and if you're dining in you get a table number. The staff is super friendly and sweet. It's got a retro but industrial farmhouse look inside which is super cute - and the patio is open and inviting. We ordered two coffee- a cold brew with lavender for me and toasty pumpkin latte for him. He got a chocolate chip caramel cookie and I got a nutter butter cookie. We both thoroughly enjoyed our cookies, demolishing them before our drinks came. He demolished his drink before I got to my drink. Super well portioned and tasty. I used to love this café -- we had many meetings here before. The food was always delicious, and the atmosphere was very pleasant. But something has changed. I hadn't visited for more than six months, and we recently came back for a business meeting. We ordered a salmon toast and coffee, and when the food arrived, I was shocked. The ingredients looked like they were just thrown together, and the presentation was very unappealing. I asked them to remake the toast, but the second one was even worse. The bread was burnt, and there was only a very small piece of salmon, not to mention almost no filling. I will not be coming back and cannot recommend this place to anyone. I've been here through many coffee shops preceding Southern Grounds, including Lillie's etc. and I'm very happy that Southern Grounds has a beach presence. They have one the of best coffee shop menus that I know of and the staff is always friendly and timely. The shop is large and has plenty of seating, although you may need to venture outside on a weekend morning to grab a table. This time I ordered a chai latte with oat milk and the salmon toast, topped with herb cream cheese, smoked salmon, red onion, cucumber, and fresh dill on pumpernickel. Absolutely fantastic! I wish there was more salmon on top but it was a great dish that I'll be looking to recreate at home. The chai latte was disappointing and basically just milk, but I've had several good lattes here that I won't let that deter me. Always worth a visit if you're in the area! read more

This was my first time visiting Jacksonville and I was staying at the hotel across the street. I wanted breakfast and a latte. I ordered the vanilla latte and the eggs Benedict. I feel like the food was a little pricy, but at this point in 2024 I am not surprised. I got my benedict and it was honestly really good.
