After looking at reviews online I couldn't wait to try the food. What a complete disappointment. The food was mediocre at best. The biscuits were hard and dried out. After complaining about the 1st one, the waiter brought me another one and it was dry and crumbling in the center. Before I could say anything the customer behind me stopped the waiter and complained about the same thing. He brought her another biscuit as well and I heard her tell him that it was just as bad as the other one. The waiter stated he would advise the kitchen and blamed the biscuits on overheating. The problem is they weren't fresh, they were old. My grits were watered down with no flavor. My bacon was barely cooked and the turkey sausage was overcooked. At 1st I thought it was me, but I heard the customer behind me tell her daughter that it was the worst meal she has had and would need to purchase another meal when they felt. She indicated that the only positive was that her 3 year old daughter enjoyed the pancakes. I turned around and said to her that my meal was awful as well and that I too would have to stop at another location for food. To add insult to injury, this place adds 18% gratuity to all checks regardless of the size of your party. I did not realize it until I got my check. I got the Not Your Basic B**ch with over easy eggs, feta, and crispy bacon atop avocado , with pico on top of hashbrown patties with a delightful balsamic drizzle. They have various events and specials advertised when you come in on a few blackboards. I'm sad I wasn't able to imbibe in their mimosas since I was heading back home, but I will try them next time. I would give it 5 stars as the food is fenomenal, but the last time we went there the service wasn't the best. We ordered the unlimited mimosas ($25.00) which after ordered our server told us we had 30 minutes left to order more mimosas. Then proceeded to tell us that we were only allowed one mimosa per person at the time, but other tables around us had servers bringing them multiple mimosas. We ended up having 3 per person. Our server was as well would disappear and we had to try to get his attention multiple times to get refills and order our food. A place that caught my eye when I was in Jacksonville. Tulsa bistro had such great staff in serving us as they were quick and attentive. We ordered the crab cake Benedict and the not your basic bitch. The grits with the crab cake benedict were rather lackluster and I wished they would add cheese to them or use a different side like potatoes but the benedict itself was very good. TikTok brought us to this restaurant for breakfast. We initially came to try out the breakfast board but was persuaded by the server on some other dishes. My husband went with the Surf and Turf and I went with Not Your Basic B**ch. For the Surf and Turf the steak is only cooked medium well. It was somewhat tough and hard to chew. The scrambled eggs had a whipped and different taste to them. Not sure what seasoning or additives were used but they were different. Not in a good way. For the Not your Basic B**ch it was too many different things going on. The hashbrowns were oily and the balsamic vinegar was not a good pairing. It was definitely a failed dish. 10/10 recommend the drag show brunch! To celebrate a friend's birthday, we decided to plan a coed drag show brunch. We were a party of 18 and everyone had such an amazing time! The breakfast board was delicious, with generous portions and a wide variety of items, and was included in the price of the ticket. Unfortunately, bottomless mimosas were not an option, so we had to purchase bottles of champagne individually, which were a little pricey. As far as the show, it was so much fun!
