Food is excellent and very good service, however my parents wanted to come sit down and try because they've never been here before and I have. I told them the food is excellent and talked well about the place. And a table for three on a Saturday for lunch was an hour and a half wait for outside. Wait times that are given are really iffy here so I decided to put my name down. When I told my parents the time they decided not to stay. I took my name off the wait just as they texted our table is ready. Why would you give a wait time of that long and then text ten minutes later that the table is ready. That's a loss of business for you guys and the place is excellent. Maybe try training the hosts to have a better eye for wait times! We just ended up eating bonefish instead. :/ read more

Great place for late morning brunch, atmosphere is definitely one of the key things I look at when I enter a restaurant, and it really gave off awesome vibes. Just my first time there, so as always, when I go to a new breakfast place I always get the pancakes. They were awesome, nice and moist. Didn't have to take a sip of water every time I took a bite. Bacon was super crisp and potatoes were great on the side. I had another person with me, and she got the French toast topped with blueberries and strawberries, and a swirl of whipped cream. Yesterday was my first visit. I had Stan's Mardi Gras omelet, which includes shrimp, crawfish, and andouille sausage. It was wonderful. With the three-egg omelet I really didn't need both the potatoes and the English muffin. I felt that the location could be a problem during higher traffic times with the narrow lane and very low speed limit (7 1/2 mph if memory serves). I was there mid-morning so no problems, but I'd hate to go there at lunch time. read more

Went to the Lafayette location while shopping to replace things after the flood. i frequent Baton Rouge and love everything about it but the one in Lafayette is regrettable. The hostess, Gabby (would be perfectly named if the rest was Totally Useless) was late on everything from coffee refills to picking up my card (seriously had to wqit almost ten minutes to pay the bill). the food was ok after taking 46 minutes to arrive but the experience was so substandard for ABE that I strongly recommend avoiding this location altogether. read more

Today is by far the worst experience we have had at this restaurant. The waitress we had was horrible it took her 5 min to bring me water. Then when we got our food the eggs were over hard. They remade them and they were sunny side up. All I wanted was over medium I guess that's to much to expect from some place called another broken egg. read more

This is a good place to come for breakfast/brunch when you're not being a slob. It's also relatively healthy, which is nice, because a lot of breakfast places are very unhealthy for you. We were served by a really great server named Hayley. She knew the menu like the back of her hand and was great at giving us recommendations. She recommended the City Grits (YUM) and was prompt and extremely pleasant with her service. We saved room for the biscuit beignets and they were extremely good as well! The atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant, and the placement of tables made it feel very private. The interior has an "Old Louisiana" feel, which pairs perfectly with the Old Louisiana cooking. I expected a wait time here to get a table - It was Sunday "brunch" time after all. The wait, however, wasn't bad at all - the waitstaff, on the other hand, was horrible. After being seated at our table, we waited about as long as we did for a table to even get a visit from our waiter. The eggs was light and fluffy and perfectly cooked with creme cheese inside and a lobster sauce with lobster chunks that contained fresh herbs on the top.
