This is a really cute place in Lafayette that I had the pleasure of visiting during my work training. Upon entry the staff was very friendly & order was quick even during the busy lunch hour. I ordered the half sandwich & soup (club Lola w/ chicken tortilla soup). The sandwich was toasted with crispy bacon. My soup warm a big serving that had a lot to enjoy later at home. I only the soup was a bit more flavorful with a few spices or even corn added to take it up a bit. The broth just tasted tomatoey (.. if that makes sense lol!) Clean inside dining & nice outside picnic tables to sit on. Also, in the same complex as shopping boutiques for a nice stroll. I visited for lunch with one of my friends - nothing extraordinary, but also not terrible. I found their menu to be very expansive. The order-to-table experience was lackluster. The food was mid-level, but I was told it had changed recently. I'll also note that I visited on Ash Wednesday, and I could not eat meat. There were plenty of vegetarian and seafood options for me. The woman at the register seemed more focused on her phone and was trying to multitask placing my order while also ordering personal items from Walmart. I ordered the BLT, which I felt was a bit overpriced. The bread was stale, and for some reason the sandwich came with both Swiss and American cheese. The chips were seasoned but bland, and overall the meal just wasn't appetizing. The dining area was clean. Pleasant employees worth 2 stars. The kitchen was slow. Calling the crabcake sandwiches "mediocre" would be a major kindness. The cost was significantly higher than the quality would suggest. This spot always brings me back to my childhood when my mom would bring me a crab cake sandwich with tortilla chips. I had to give it a try again since it had been so long. The crab cake sandwich is still the same! The flavor is phenomenal and the tortilla chips are still very delicious with just the perfect amount of salt. I also tried the south of the burger. I was slightly disappointed to find that the patty was unseasoned. Sadly, I couldn't even taste the cheese. The flavoring from the jalapeños (I could of used a bit more of those), sour cream, and salsa helped make this burger edible. I may tread lightly on getting another burger here though. My favorite thing about Lola's is that service is so fast and friendly even when its packed. The lady at the counter greets you as soon as you come in and always ask if everything was ok afterwards. I didn't want to drive to get food for lunch so the nurse at the hospital recommended this place to grab food which is a walking distance so it all worked out. I ordered the crab cakes salad. The crab cakes was a good size portion and was so good and tasty with a good amount of seasoning. My only complaint about my salad was that the sauce that came with it was not enough. My lunch buddies had a grill shrimp wrap with chips, crab cakes sandwich with chips and salsa and another had a chicken salad. They all enjoy their food also. read more

Recently visited here for lunch with my wife after having it on my bookmarks for a few years. When I walked in, I was greeted by the friendly staff who promptly took my order. I ordered the chicken Caesar wrap and my wife ordered the crab cake sandwich, both of which came with tortilla chips. The chicken Caesar wrap was not very good at all. I ordered the grilled chicken wrap with onions and peppers and first bite was alright, then the quality dropped. Not saying it is, but, the chicken tasted like a freezer bag of Tyson ready-to-eat grilled chicken strips that were thawed and heated up. I've heard nothing but wonderful things about this place. My mom and her coworkers eat here often so I decided to give it a try today. This place is adorable on the inside and everyone is very friendly here. There are so many great choices on the menu to choose from. Today I got the grilled shrimp wrap and the chips and salsa. Everything was better than I expected. The shrimp were the perfect size and had the boiled flavor tase of it. The salsa was absolutely perfect with just the right amount of spices and very fresh. This is a great place to grab a great sandwich or wrap on your lunch break. I got the grilled shrimp wrap and Emily got the crab cake sandwich. The sandwiches come with chips and salsa, but you can get guacamole as well. The food is light and tasty I would highly recommend. We'll be sure to return to try their other menu items. This place is quaintly located within the Oil Center of Lafayette. My coworker suggested I go here and try one of their burgers. So, I tried their South of the Burger because I was curious of a slightly Mexican flavor influenced profile. When I opened my to-go box, I noticed the portions were just right for a lunch. The sandwich came with chips and homemade salsa which was very fresh and slightly chilled. The chips were warm and fresh as well. The sandwich itself had nothing but fresh ingredients and the bun light and fluffy, but just dense enough for a burger. The burger was very juicy and not greasy at all. All produce added was fresh and the few jalapenos added were a good choice. This is one the best burgers from Lafayette I've had in a while. I heard about this place through word of mouth. I've heard from a lot of people that I needed to try this place. I'm honestly surprised that there is only one other review for this place. A friend of mine and I decided to come here because we wanted to eat something light for lunch. I had heard that this place has a really good light lunch and had it bookmarked to check out. When I got here, the parking lot was quite full, but thankfully there was one open spot. I walked in, met up with my friend, then grabbed a menu. They have a large selection of sandwiches and salads and a different soup everyday. Despite the fact that it was packed, they take orders very quickly. I ended up ordering the combo 1/2 cafe club sandwich and soup. My food was out in just a few minutes. The serving size was actually a good deal larger than I was expecting. What I had was good, but it wasn't mind blowing or anything. I think the place was over-hyped for me and it fell to meet those expectations. That being said, it wasn't bad. I really felt that Cafe Lola was completely average. It's possible the item I had just wasn't that great, so I will definitely give them another try. Really good! Loved their salads (I had the Cobb). Also has a squaw bread I could eat by itself! I ask for it with portobello mushroom sandwich . Highly recommended.
