Went here on a Friday morning for breakfast. TLDR; service is great, but the food is just OK. Get an omelet or something made with eggs instead of ordering a sweet dish. The service was excellent. Before we could even make it to the door, a hostess opened it for us and greeted us. We were seated right away (wasn't too busy for a Friday morning around 9) and we were distanced from other tables. All the staff was wearing masks and it seemed they were trying to distance tables when possible. Our waitress was very attentive and answered our questions about the menu. The hostesses again opened the door for us on our way out. The restaurant is very clean, bright, and not too loud. Overall really nice atmosphere with a farmhouse vibe. The food was a little disappointing. My partner got the Ipanema pancakes that are supposed to be coffee infused, but we couldn't really taste the coffee. They were also flat, super thin, and dense to the point of being soggy. I got the blueberry french toast and mine was also thin, not thick and fluffy like I expect french toast to be. The strawberry compound butter that comes with the toast is delicious though - it was our favorite part of the dish. I even asked for more to take home with my leftovers. The eggs and sausage that came with our meals were very good. This makes me think that their specialty is eggs/savory dishes, so if we come here again I will order an omelet instead of a sweet dish. Owner came to our table with a signature dessert of Beignets - growing up in Louisiana I know beignets, these were excellent- outside was all beignet, inside all biscuit- great mix - served with signature honey marmalade. Brand new restaurant, in a great location. This place is decorated super cute. This is not your typical American breakfast. I just love the combination of their dishes. Their prices are a little high for the area, but definitely worth every penny. Like any new place, there's always room for improvement. We got there around 7:30am and there were already 4 groups there but there's plenty of space so we had our pick of tables on the covered patio. Didn't need to be on online waitlist to get seated immediately. Waitress was attentive and conscientious. She offered to bring out the kid's meal (French toast and eggs) first to keep the five year old busy which was amazing. Had plenty of polished wood high chairs which were nice and secure and perfect table height for the baby. Five year old loved his French toast it was soft and not too fancy for a kid's palate and they supplied an extra cup of powdered sugar when asked. Our food was good too. I got the Blackstone Benedict. Kept being offered refills on coffee which was fun! Can't wait to go back. I have worked as a waitress and I totally understand a restaurant being busy. I have a lot of patience for a restaurant that is busy, but my limit was reached and exceeded today. We were sat outside today, which was fine for a short while; however we waited a MINIMUM of 30-40 minutes just for our food to come out. We ordered the chicken piccata benedict, southwest scrambler, and a side of bacon. I am fairly confident that none of those items warranted how long we waited for our food considering tables who came in after we had ordered (and had more people at them) received their food before we did. Now, as I said, it was busy today and we were fully prepared to wait some time for the food, but not 30+ minutes. It would not have been as bad if there were enough umbrellas outside to cover all the tables. We were in direct sun for about half the time we were sitting and waiting for everything. Our waitress mentioned TWICE the manager was going to come speak with us, but this never happened. We still paid our full bill and tipped over 20%. It would have been nice to at least get an apology from management. This is actually the only reason I'm leaving a review here, because we did not get to speak to management. We did not have time to wait and speak with anyone after having to wait for so long as we had to pick up our children. We are disappointed in our visit today and will not be back for a long time, if ever. I tried Another Broken Egg today, after waiting a few weeks after they opened for them to get their legs under them a bit. Opening in the middle of a pandemic can't be the easiest thing in the world, that is for sure! I ordered a cold brew iced coffee, which was served in a mason jar mug. It was refreshing and delicious, and now I was awake enough to look at the menu. I decided to come here because I knew my daughter would be head over heels for the Cinnamon Bun French Toast, and now I realize just how understated that sentiment is. She loved the 3 pieces of cinnamon bread covered with icing, syrup, fresh berries, and whipped cream. The dish also came with 2 pieces of bacon and her choice of eggs. I chose the Mardi Gras Omelette, which was a fresh omelette stuffed with crawfish, shrimp, andouille sausage, and red peppers, covered with a tomato hollandaise sauce with diced tomatoes and green onions. This was served with some fried potatoes and an English muffin. I thought this was delicious as well, and certainly something you don't see on every brunch menu. There were enough other enticing selections that I will definitely be back. I also enjoyed one of their house Bloody Marys. A nice spice to it, and plenty of accoutrements. Things that could improve are their ticket times are pretty long. We sat there a while waiting for the food, and to make it worse, empty drinks in front of us. Our server was nice, but she definitely could have been a tad more attentive. The other thing is that even though the staff were wearing masks, half the people working on the floor were not wearing them right, only covering their mouth, or in one case, pulled down around her chin. Kind of pointless. The manager was active and visible on the floor, but did not make any attempt to correct this with any of the staff that I saw. I rarely write reviews so bare with me. I have never encountered such an experience with a GM of a restaurant. I expressed to my server that my food was cold, but that it was ok and not to worry about it. Unbeknownst to me, he had spoken to the manager to see what she could do about it. The server returns to the table and expressed that the GM Val stated "We are not doing anything for them". So I asked him to please go and get the manager so that I can hear those words verbatim. Now, I'm not one to brag on the many degrees I have, but without a doubt this encounter made me feel like I was less than that of a GM. Which she didn't hesitate to throw around. If the unprofessionalism continues, I cannot see this establishment being successful in the long run. Maybe etiquette on how to speak to customers should be revisited. read more
