To try something new for a weekend breakfast/brunch, we ventured out to Fairbanks Restaurant. From the reviews, I was worried we wouldn't be able to get a table, but we got there around noon on a Sunday and it there were plenty of tables available. The small standalone building doesn't look like much from the outside, but the inside looks a bit more modern, like it was renovated a few years ago. It's a local breakfast place with the normal breakfast options. They have a decent selection of breakfast and lunch options. I tried the Hopple Popple, which was a mixture of potatoes, eggs, onions, bacon, and cheese. It was plenty of food, and the service was great. I enjoy finding little hidden places that aren't your typical breakfast joints, but offer a good selection of items.

This is a small family owned place. When you walk in, sign says sit anywhere. The booth I was sitting on was tilted to one side so couldn't sit in the middle of the bench. The service was nice and food comes out quick. The grits needed more seasoning. The pancakes were nothing special. My husband enjoyed their French toast. For the price of food, we would go back. I wish they had flavored creamer for their coffee though. Maybe add to the wish list? Thanks.

It is a pretty well-known fact that it is nearly impossible to get a seat at a decent dinner on any given Saturday morning to enjoy a good breakfast. Unless, of course, you are willing to wait for a long time to be seated. So on our way to Winter Park, we drove past this place on Fairbanks and decided on a whim to give it a try. A quick check of Yelp reviews confirmed our choice, and we ventured into the place. We got seated immediately and enjoyed a wonderful breakfast meal served with a smile and warm hospitality. Good food, and good service, a wonderful 5-star combination.

I've been working in Winter Park for a while now and finally decided to try this restaurant. It is a small, local business that might not get your attention as you're driving down Fairbanks ave. Do yourself a favor and stop by. The staff is super friendly and their food is good. The building might seem a bit dated outside, but the inside looks good, clean and accommodating. I made a takeout order, since I was in a hurry. Got the fairbanks omelette and 1/2 order of biscuits and gravy. The food was warm, good and tasted good. Best of all, their prices are very reasonable (based on today's economy) and portion size is great. I can say that I had an awesome breakfast today and will definitely go back. This is a small business worth supporting. They offer a great product at a good price.

The farmers omelette was different from others I've seen at other restaurants. This one had cubed hash brown potatoes baked into the omelette. It was quite delicious. The restaurant was clean and well maintained. The servers were very good and pleasant. I'm looking forward to coming back again.

Food was great and came out super quick, very cheap and the vibes were extremely chill. Perfect easy breakfast place. Staff is friendly.

The food was ok, could've used a little more seasoning. Cute quiet little dinner. Customer service wasn't all that but I go for the food. I'd go back.

The three star rating does not mean this is a bad place. It's actually quite nice with its renovations and homestyle feel. The food was good just as if I would cook it at home but with a little less flavor. Customer service was attentive, and lots of people were always coming in, so this place is never without business. Prices are fair and I would prefer homestyle cooking at this restaurant over some chain breakfast restaurants. The renovation inside definitely makes a big difference as the outside does not look like much. Parking is very limited and small so if you have a big party get there early. But I would stop in again.

This is my family's favorite breakfast restaurant. Super unsuspecting spot from the outside but the inside is cute and clean. When you enter you can seat yourself anywhere you'd like. The food is very much diner food in the best way and affordable in my opinion. They have weekday lunch specials, soups and a decent amount of breakfast options.

I've written a lot of great reviews but today, not so much...absolutely the WORST diner experience to date. On an A-F grading Overall food: C- Overall cleanliness: C My order: F (just gross) Service: F Average: D My food was horrible. It was supposed to be biscuits and gravy however the gravy was a really odd gelatinous pile of goop drowning two small chalky hard biscuits. I tried repeatedly attempted to get the servers attention but was ignored while she attended to to go orders and cashiering. When it was time to be presented with a check I was finally able to provide the information that my food was unacceptable and ice cold now. The solution of course was to pick up my dish and say oh Fine OK... I'll take it back. Never once did I get the chance to say oh I'd actually like to eat this morning hence why I came in to the restaurant you know to eat breakfast. And then we never see our server again. Our server was our cashier and I even had the honor of PAYING for the meal she took away. There was no acknowledgement that I didn't have a good experience or even get to eat for that matter. To add insult to injury as we stood outside the diner awaiting to leave we literally watched the elderly white lady with gray hair mock me and to other diners. Unquestionably the most ridiculous act of childish behavior you can imagine. Here are some expectations for your visit should you choose... -Tables will be slightly cleaned off -Food will be iffy -Service will be terrible This is around the corner from my house and I so wanted it to be a great experience; it was not at all. I don't recommend at all.

This is a little hidden gem right on Fairbanks. Don't be fooled by outside appearances, inside has cute vibes and a cool atmosphere. Staff was very welcoming and attentive. Food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Will definitely be back when I'm in the area again.

We got a dirty martini and negroni to start. Awesome presentation and they came out pretty quickly. We were also given a free glass of prosecco, which was an excellent touch. For appetizers we ordered the Crispy Bang Bang Lion's Mane, which had a great texture and was extra crispy, and the Citrus Spiced Carrots. This sat in a bed of ricotta cheese and hot honey. The perfect balance of sweet and salty. I'd order this 10 times over again. For our mains we got the Fresh Grilled Fish of the day, which was a snapper with mashed sweet potato and broccolini and a pan to pour a lemon sauce over top. This was a perfect portion, the fish was grilled perfectly, and I could have eaten an entire bowl of their sweet potatoes. My husband got the Bronzed Florida Grouper, which had a risotto with shrimp in it. Both of these dishes were INCREDIBLE. To finish, we got the Sky High Citrus Meringue Pie. This kind of played on a key lime pie. It was rich, the portion was HUGE, and a great way to finish our meal. Overall, great food, great vibes, and great service.

At Roses, this theory stands validated. Returning after a hiatus of over five years, and with the space having transformed from its previous incarnation, I found myself pleasantly surprised. The service was attentive without being intrusive, setting a warm tone for the morning. The coffee was impeccable -- rich, balanced, and expertly prepared -- a true marker of a café that understands its craft. The French toast I ordered was a standout: perfectly crisp on the outside, tender within, and satisfying enough to fuel a motorcycle ride on a bright Saturday morning. The atmosphere is quietly charming -- a laid-back, metro-inspired aesthetic that feels both familiar and effortlessly stylish. It's clear that Roses has cultivated a devoted local following, while also welcoming newcomers with open arms. Located conveniently for a weekend breakfast, Roses proved a worthy alternative after a missed opportunity elsewhere on Park Avenue. For those seeking a quintessential, no-fuss morning meal with great coffee and genuine hospitality, Roses earns a well-deserved two thumbs up.
