Breakfast @ the Maitland Breakfast Club, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise! Our waitress, Cindy A., was as sweet as apple pie and made us feel right at home. On my first visit, I ordered the Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal Pancakes with link sausages and a glass of orange juice. The pancakes were delicious, the sausages hit the spot, and the orange juice was... well, you know... orange juice. It did its job! The atmosphere reminded me of a classic country diner--cozy, welcoming, and filled with an older crowd, which I honestly prefer. One thing I really appreciated was being able to seat myself. That's always a plus in my book. Sometimes being escorted to a table means ending up in that one awkward corner nobody wants... but I digress. Overall, I had a great experience and would happily come back. My significant other, however, wasn't nearly as impressed. Oh well--you win some, you lose some! Fun fact, diners were started in New England region of America in the 1850s. All this to say, I love a good diner. I mean the American diner has always been there for middle America. The closest one to me and honestly it's definitely hidden away is the Maitland Breakfast Club. It's pretty much situated on the boundary line of where the City of Altamonte Springs starts. They have large space that's casual and what you would expect for a diner. Anyone can walk in wearing their Sunday best to pajamas. The waitresses are very welcoming and exactly the kind of person I would expect to invite me into a diner. We had gone on a Saturday afternoon and they're not a diner that's open late, so more of a breakfast diner really. Now I got the eggs Benedict with bacon and hash browns. For me, there are three breakfast staples I believe all amazing must revisit breakfast places should have. A good cup of warm regular coffee, eggs Benedict, and good crispy hash browns. I mean some places have other things like lattes and hash brown bowls, and I'm not saying those aren't good. However, when you nail the basics, you can do anything else. The hollandaise sauce was great and didn't split and bacon was crispy. The hash browns were super crispy, which I loved, and I could tell it had been made on a flat top grill, which is another very classic American restaurant kitchen appliance. The cup of coffee was good, I mean they had the sugar packets and the creamers right there. Overall, I would rate it a 9/10 and it set us back about $15 for just my portion. We headed directly over to Maitland Breakfast Club to get something delicious to eat. Skylar was our server. She is very friendly and definitely knowledgeable about the menu. I ordered the BLT and had three types of bread to choose from. I decided on toasted sourdough and it was amazing. I also added a side of onion rings which were really tasty with a nice outside crunch and perfectly cooked onion rings in the inside. Everything was a pleasure from the moment we walked into instantly being seated coffee within two minutes meal hot off the griddle. I had a special which was two eggs, two bacon, two pancakes and hashbrowns that was out of this world .The coffee could've been a little stronger, but I like it that way. Maitland Breakfast Club is a solid spot if you're looking for a delicious and quick no-frills breakfast. I visited for the first time recently and the waitress recommended the Maitland French toast and Ultimate omelette, both of which were delicious. I was grateful for the advice to order "light cheese" on the omelette because it still arrived with a generous amount! My table also ordered the Original Breakfast with hash browns. We didn't mind sharing, but the potatoes were mixed up on the two orders. Also, be sure to read the menu rather than looking at the photos, because the Original Breakfast does not come with bacon as pictured. The serving of eggs was incredibly generous, though! Both meals are supposed to come with toast which never made it to our table. The business has a mom and pop feel to it, with waitresses who remember your name and are very attentive, generous portions at a reasonable price. i've been hearing about this breakfast club for quite a while from my friends who live in the area. So finally got a chance to go. I have to say it was a very good experience. The restaurant is quite large. Our waitress Kirsten was exceptionally friendly. The owner Chris came over to say hi and was also exceptionally friendly. I ordered the hungry man platter, which was basically French toast, two eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, and sausage patty. I found it very enjoyable. The entire time we were there they were back and forth about who had what table and i mean the entire time and were not quiet about it. 2. Price. Cost way more than Cracker Barrel last week and we got way more food there and more than the Peach Valley Cafe down the road but valley food was better. 3. Food. My husband's food was so salty he couldn't eat most of it. My pancakes were some of the oddest tasting and they were plain syrup was also very cheap or sf version either way i didnt care for it. I ordered a sweet tea and they gave me unsweetened. If they didn't have i was not notified.... But it could have also been a mistake because our table because one took the order and another quickly said that is my table and took over. Sat for 20 minutes before our waitress came to the table to greet us (after asking who our waitress was, since no one had greeted us). I honestly can't state how many servers we actually had because everyone who walked by was checking in with us to see how we were doing which was great! We got some pretty basic food items, beer t they are very good and really hit home. My older daughter had the blueberry-stuffed waffle, and it was really great!! It was fluffy and flavorful, not too hot and definitely not cold, and had a good texture to it. My other daughter got her Western omelette and this was very good with fresh vegetables contained within. My country fried steak was really really tasty. It was a little smaller than other country fried steaks I might order elsewhere, but it was really very tasty! My wife enjoyed her bagel. I also ordered a large OJ and it was very fresh, and not overly sweet. The ambience of this place was very sweet. The staff seemed to know a lot of the restaurant-goers, and it seemed like everyone in here was very close. If they didn't all know each other, it sure seemed like they did... lots of laughter between staff and the patrons. Very nice vibe. The visitors here were mostly elderly this morning, but a friend of mine commented long ago that that's the sign of a really good restaurant. Definitely worth checking out. This is a great hole in the wall. My sister and I came here for breakfast after church and it was busy but our waitress was great and the food was delicious. My sister had the yogurt parfait and loved it. The fruit looked fresh and it came with strawberry yogurt. They also gave her a homemade pastry with it that she liked. I was sad they were sold out of the country fried steak but I guess I just need to come back to try that! I ended up ordering a coffee and eggs Benedict Florentine style with spinach, tomato and avocado. It was amazing and the flavors meshed together really well. I was driving in the area and stumbled upon this breakfast restaurant. I walked in and customers are able to sit wherever they like. There were a few booths scattered around the restaurant as well as some tables and chairs in the middle. Immediately after sitting down, I was greeted and given a menu to browse through. I ordered a hot tea, but I felt like they didn't have a lot of options. On their menu they said they are known for their sausages, so I ordered some with my meal. They were full of flavor and were pretty good. The French toast wasn't my favorite because it was a little soggy. The grow biscuit was fine. I just wish it came with a side of jam. Easy to get to. The parking was easy and plentiful. The ladies restroom was a single toilet but clean and a nice size. My friend and I walked in just when they opened for breakfast. We were told we could sit anywhere. We picked a booth by the window. Very shortly after we arrived people started coming in from all walks of life. Older people, younger people, people before church and people that appeared to be non church goers. Any dress code seemed to be fine. My friend, for breakfast, ordered corn beef hash and I ordered the biscuit and gravy. Mine came with the eggs you see. The staff was all very accommodating and friendly. Every waitress (there were male servers) came by and checked on us, asking for a coffee refill. The food was decent. But the ambiance is worth going for sure. I've been coming here for the past 13 years. I've seen it change owners three different times and the current owner is doing well. The food is great, but it's the waitresses that really make the experience. Tina and Henny are the best. It is our regular Saturday morning family breakfast which extends to a couple friends so we always have a large group every Saturday morning. Hash browns were nice and crispy too. I got the daylight scramble which is similar to a Benedict and was a great combination of buttery sweet croissant, rich tangy hollandaise, slight bitterness of the spinach and the salty umami of the ham and cheese. The home fries weren't very seasoned but fried so crisp the skins popped off a bit to create a super crunchy bit that added some great texture. Love this place. It's always consistent and quick. The food is good and pretty comparable to that of a Mom and Pop diner. That said, they have quite a few unique items on their menu that you typically wouldn't find at a local diner like their Crepes or their Muffin Of The Day. I usually order an Omelet or one of their lunch options. The Fresco Melt is really tasty and pairs perfectly with their onion rings. You can alway count on good service and relatively quick seating. They do get busy on the weekends so be conscious of that during those usual peak hours.
