Food was good but nothing to write home about. We got the beignet biscuits which were delicious and had a great texture. I ordered the goat cheese lemon blueberry pancakes. I was expecting an incorporation of the blueberries and lemon into the batter but instead everything was just sprinkled atop what tasted like plain buttermilk pancakes. I ordered over medium but received over easy, which was slightly disappointing. The potatoes were decent but maybe spent too long in the fryer. Other some minor complaints, I enjoyed my breakfast overall. The Service was excellent from the host stand to the server. One of my favorite brunch spots near UCF! I've tried multiple items and have enjoyed them all - my favorite is the chicken and waffles I think, but always get the home fries!!!! They're the best in the game. It was around $40 with tip for two of us. Our server (he also seemed like he might be the bartender) was super personable and nice. Loved it here! Stopped in for breakfast with a friend. Our server asked if it was our first time (and it was) and he brought us out some complementary beignets. These beignets were delicious and definitely worth ordering! My friend ordered an omelet with cheese in it. I ordered a crab cake benedict. I loved my breakfast, it was great. My friend didn't eat much of his meal because it was too cheesy but he wasn't complaining. The server noticed this and took the meal off of our bill without us even asking. The second location opened in the Sunshine State, to be more precise in Destin, Florida. They added the "another" in front of the name when a customer asked "will you open another Broken Egg Cafe?" and the rest, as they say, is history. Another Broken Egg Cafe is a breakfast, brunch and lunch place, offering food that is both comforting and indulging. The pancakes are light and fluffy and sure to tempt those who love a sweet tinged start to their mornings. Bananas Foster pancakes are a great choice and truly scream indulgence. The Eggs Benedict are also another amazing option and one I heartily devoured and would heartily recommend. The Mardi Gras Omelette sounds incredible and I will try it soon. This omelette is filled with Louisiana crawfish, gulf shrimp, andouille sausage, red peppers and topped with hollandaise sauce, tomatoes (I will have them hold these on mine) and green onions. I saw another review and it mentioned this and it sounds incredibly amazing. The ambiance is equally appealing and definitely enhances the meal. Service was also very good. I saw a review where someone complained about the price. Honestly, I feel the prices are in line with other similar restaurants geared mostly towards breakfast and looking to offer a more upscale version of the stereotypical "greasy spoon" type diner. I would definitely recommend this Another Broken Egg Cafe or any of their other locations. I have dined in a few of them and find that their level of consistency is pretty strong (we can attribute that to the proper training on a corporate level). So go on and give them a try. Arrived at the Oviedo location at around 8 am for breakfast with one family of four already seated and a couple in front of us being seated. The remainder of the seats were empty. After we sat down we ended up waiting about twenty minutes just for a drink service to be ordered/arrive but figured it was just a slow start. That simply was not the case. To be honest, I believe they forgot about us. We ended up waiting another forty minutes (an hour total) and still not seeing our order before having to get ready to leave for a pending appointment. As we stood up to leave after asking for our ticket our food finally came out from the kitchen and we were able to take it to go. Knowing there were eight total customers seeking breakfast at the time we arrived, we couldn't believe the lack of service involved (frustrating). I would highly suggest going to Chick Fil A across the street if you are looking for a quick breakfast or other close establishments. read more

Wow I don't know if they put msg in their food because every bite was delicious. The colors and presentation were so impressive. Supposedly this is a local chain in the Orlando suburbs I wish we had one in the northern Virginia area as it's so good, the set up of cafe slash bar slash outdoor seating reminds me of an up scale and better Teds Bulletin. I had the shrimp and grits and studying and traveling all over the south these were the best I've had in quite some time maybe the best. The perfectly spiced gravy and pepper sauce on the grits was perfect. The portions are large compared to what I am used to but I left fully satisfied and impressed with how good a local chain could be. Oh and the peppery Bloody Mary I had was a very good compliment to the shrimp and grits. The food took a bit longer but because it tasted so good I suspect everything is made without a lot of prep work. I'd love to have it faster but I would not sacrifice that flavor. read more

I love going to Another Broken Egg Cafe for brunch. It was the first local brunch place to offer a full bar in addition to mimosas in Oviedo! I also really appreciate being able to add myself to the seating queue via Yelp. Everything on their menu is pretty delicious, but definitely not for the health-conscious, so come here expecting to blow some calories! They do have some "lighter" dishes, but I'd warn that even those are a little on the decadent side. I would give this place 5 stars, but I have found their service to be a little lacking. Drink orders take a very long time to arrive, almost to the point of food arriving before drinks. Beyond that, I've had some food inconsistencies as well, where some people at my table are receiving piping hot food while others' dishes were clearly under a lamp for quite awhile. First time to this location and arrived at 11:25am, hostess told us there is a wait time around 20-25mins, after 45mins wait time till I went up and questioned the hostess, she finally bought us to a dirty table. My original server was super busy so the other girl came up and got our order. She was very nice and quick. However food waited over 30 mins(pls see attached timer) finally came up. Guess what, missing a ham. Waited another 10mins for my ham. Food is just ok but the wait time is ridiculous. I would not tell the customer short wait time if you are unsure. I have no idea why there is 33 mins wait time to cook some simple breakfast, but I guess you get the eggs from the farm directly that's why take you so long to prepare. My friends and I planned on brunching here one Sunday morning. One of our party actually went to the wrong location, so we could not be seated, which is standard practice, but we were put on a waiting list. An automated text message said that I would receive a message when a table was ready but that message never came. When we came inside to inquire about the wait, we were told they wouldn't text us that we were supposed to just come inside when everyone arrived. We had no idea, but it was not a big deal. We got our drinks and placed our orders. I had my coffee filled and was ready for a refill. The server asked if I wanted another cup because there was stuff inside it. When I looked in the mug, there were literally wrappers in the bottom from butter packages (no one at the table had butter). I was drinking coffee with someone else's garbage inside. Nice. Our order of biscuit beignets came out and they were tasty. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. One of my friends had to leave, so we tried to track down our server to ask about our food orders. We caught the attention of a sweet girl who was bussing tables next to us and asked her to get our server because we still hadn't received our food. Her response to us was "there are a million people here." Being busy is fine, but we waited at least an hour at this point and she could have just said "I'll go get her." It turns out, our order was "accidentally boxed up as a to go order." Which is also fine. Mistakes happen. But how did the beignets make it to the table? We were told that our orders would be remade fresh for us, and maybe they were. My omelet was overcooked the grits were flavorless and lukewarm, so I'm not sure if it was actually remade fresh or just reheated. My friend had to take hers to go because she had an event to get to. We didn't ask for anything comped. I paid full price for garbage coffee, overcooked eggs, flavorless grits, and my friend's meal that she had to take and eat cold because they couldn't manage to bring 2 sunny side up eggs and bacon to our table in less than an hour. My first bite I knew. Food was NOT hot or even really warm. The eggs were a cold warm but like they had been already made and sitting waiting for someone to order. The beans and other items were closer to cold. The cheese on top was ever so slightly melted, some were still in the non melted shredded form. Now if it was the breakfast rush I can give a little grace but there were more servers than customers. Highly disappointed and no I did not send back. If they thought it was ok to serve me that me complaining would most likely get me additional items in my food not ordered. The city grits were somewhat creamy but those were also luke warm. As the servers were waiting to be busy they hung around and talked back and forth at the bar, mostly about others people, sounded like other servers and or management. At one point these "discussions" had me wondering if it was fighting. "How petty, really petty.... Guess we can not do that anymore" was said by 1 server quite loudly. Another excellent breakfast at ABE in Oviedo. We returned for another opportunity to have an excellent breakfast and again, we were not disappointed. Their impressive menu contained some NEW selections to try that we have not seen anywhere else. Knowing that I can't just order my usual boring ham and eggs, potatoes, toast and coffee, I ventured towards the Brunch Braised Short Ribs, grits with smoked Gouda cheese, pickled watermelon rind, over easy fried egg, and a watermelon rind reduction on the grits. OMG! For breakfast you say??? ABSOLUTELY! (And no lunch for me today!). What is mainly hidden in the photo is a very generous hunk of braised rib. I almost brought half of it home but decided to oink out and clean my plate.............ugh... LOL! My wife ordered the Hash Brown Benedict sans red peppers, and of course the City Grits which are just awesome! My last review included their country potatoes, which needed help. I had passed on the hashbrown croquettes last time and learned today that I missed out. I will order these in the future when I order a breakfast potato. Hasbrowns are not an option in the sides but just ask for them for an upcharge. We did bring home my wife's breakfast as there was just too much for her as usual. Our server, Haley, was awesome. She was attentive without being overly so, friendly, and helpful with our questions. She stayed on top of our progress and checked in often enough to refresh our tea and coffee. Hats off to the hostess this morning who keeps a vigilant eye on the door for incoming patrons to open the door and for those leaving to once again open the door for them. This place came highly recommended and we could not wait to go for brunch. While many people say that the restaurant is overrated, we did not share this sentiment. They are busy! There was a line out the door but we didn't have that long of a wait for a party of 2. I had the lobster & brie omelet which was Cream cheese-filled omelette topped with Brie and champagne butter sauce sautéed lobster meat, tomatoes and green onions. It was the best omelet I've ever had! I also enjoyed the loaded grits. It was truly stunning. My friend had the buttermilk pancakes with bacon and eggs. We both enjoyed a smores hot chocolate. Another broken egg has a truly inspiring menu that is sure to leave you wanting more with New Orleans influences and a perfect mix of southern comfort and innovation! It'd be criminal to not start off with the coffee here. It's hands down the best coffee I've had from a breakfast spot. It tastes like it's from a mom and pop coffee shop. Very balanced and brewed well. Also, the mugs here are amazing. I never thought I'd mention a mug in a review, but here I am. Lots of vegetarian options here. I ordered the three cheese omelette with a biscuit, pancake, and potatoes on the side. The omelette is made with egg-whites, and it includes tomatoes, arugula, mushrooms, brie, cream cheese, and goat cheese. Very fresh and even with all of the cheese it tasted light. The biscuit was great. It had a nice fluffy texture. The potatoes were solid and the pancake was a treat. I recommend every component of this meal. Another Broken Egg Cafe has 5 star potential. The service held it back today. It took a long time for our coffee to come out, and we had to keep flagging our server down for refills. We were also served our food without silverware, so we had to wait 5 minutes before we could eat it. It might have just been an off day for service, which happens to every place once in a while. This was our first visit to the Oviedo location, however it was a little challenging. The place was not overly crowded, but to be honest it was especially loud on the day we were here (several screaming kids - which is not really something the restaurant could control) and the service was a bit slow (but friendly to be fair). I ordered a seasonal Benedict that had a mushroom & hollandaise topping - while interesting, it was extremely salty. It was tasty, just a bit overkill on the saltiness. I've enjoyed other dishes from Another Broken Egg, so this was just one dish that didn't;t necessarily suit me (it's the price I pay for likening to try new things on the menu) . There is not much more that I can add to this excellent restaurant chain. I have eaten in several of their locations and it's the same top notch experience no matter where they are located. On my most recent visit I ordered the seasonal Citrus, Honey and Fig Pancakes. It's a fig cream layered triple pancake stack that tastes amazing. It's not too sweet and the pancakes are fluffy. They topped the pancakes with a citrus fig compote and added fresh sliced strawberries. It not only tastes good but it makes a beautiful presentation. The server did an amazing job. Update: I posted before that I got very sick after eating breakfast here. The company never responded to me. Someone told me to contact them through their social email. I was ignored after letting them know og the food safety violations. I was reading the Gainesville Sun. There was an article pertaining to food safety. There was a link to search by county. Not to my surprise, the Another Broken Egg had one of the highest violation counts. They had 14 at the Oviedo location. One involved iimproperly stored sausage.. I suspected I was sick from the sausage. That is all I could taste when o threw up. This company implies that they care, but they ignore concerns behind the scenes. Please be careful eating here. I have a love/dislike relationship with the restaurant. Love the food and waitresses. Coffee is a hit or miss. Mimosas are good. Then there's the sitting arrangement in this location is overwhelming if you get seated in the middle part of the restaurant. It's triggers school cafeteria trauma! No space between other parties and very uncomfortable. If you go on "prime time" chances are you will have to take that spot if it's what is available. Or risk an even longer wait than usual for another table area. Lastly, food takes forever to arrive, so be ready to wait to get your food. Here's the scenario: Off work, COVID-19 quarantine, Hamilton's first day on Disney+. What completes the picture? ABE take-out. I ordered two entrees and a pancake flight. Here we go. I started off with the Mardi Gras Omelette (Filled with Louisiana crawfish, gulf shrimp, andouille and red peppers, topped with tomato hollandaise, tomatoes and green onions). Absolutely delicious. Crawfish and shrimp not overcooked. They did not skimp on the andouille. Nice chunks of tomatoes and onions in there for your veggie fix. And the hollandaise sauce was very welcome to tie it all together. I also got my hands on the Crab Cakes & Fried Green Tomatoes (Jumbo lump crab cakes and fried green tomatoes, topped with Cajun rémoulade sauce and red peppers. Served with a fresh spinach salad with tomatoes, goat cheese and honey jalapeño vinaigrette). This was truly excellent. The lumps of crab in the cakes were truly jumbo. The tomatoes were nice and thinly breaded and juicy, mmm, but eat them fast. If they sit in that remoulade for long, they get a little soggy. So, so good. I also also got the Pancake Trio Flight (Your choice of any three pancake flavors from above: Bananas Foster (bananas, pecans, Foster sauce and fresh whipped cream), Peach Cobbler (filled with honey-roasted granola, topped with peach compote and fresh whipped cream), and Lemon Blueberry Goat Cheese (filled with fresh blueberries and goat cheese, topped with lemon zest and fresh whipped cream). They were all amazing. The pancakes were of a generous size. The lemon ones were the best, that tang of goat cheese was a wonderful contrast to the blueberries. So good. But they were all good. This was a good dessert side dish thing to munch through the three hours of Hamilton. Overall, I'm so glad Oviedo got a location of this place.
