After total hip replacement surgery at the hospital, I stayed at the Antelope Valley Care Center for almost a month to recover and get physical therapy and occupational therapy. I was so grateful because I was in great pain. All levels of staff were so kind and helpful. I got 3 nice meals a day, showers, plus nursing care checking surgical woulds. There were nurses, social workers and physical therapists. I was truly impressed. Rooms nice and comfortable, with nice beds anf television. I went to hospital unable to walk. The Physical and Occupational therapist spent time with me daily, and was able to walk by the time I left. They had a doctor there I really liked. I was pain-free as my hip healed. The doctor was so nice and did all he could to make me well. The CNA 's were number one key to helping me, giving me encouragement and made me feel better each day. If it hadn't been for nurse Anna who did daily help for me each day. I would have had a harder time to go on to learn to walk again. I was impressed with this nursing facility. I would go there again if I have anither surgery. Nice place for healing and rest. Loved the staff. ​I highly recommend this place to get good care and heal. read more

My mother in law was moved in here from Ridgecrest General Hospital in January '24 (she was 93 then...and she's now 94!) She was long term. We have no complaints about how she was treated. They worked to keep her in a bed by a window. They sent her to the hospital when they felt she needed it. (it's just down the street! She had a TVAR and a pacemaker put in which helped her so much with breathing) The PT/OT staff were able to. nudge her to do more than she thought she could. We paid to continue after Medical ended and glad we did. She was kept clean and well cared for. Recently she was diagnosed with Covid and isolated. She got depressed and stopped eating and taking her meds. My husband called every day and worked with the staff, and they helped him Face Time her to cheer her up. It's a busy facility being near the hospital and getting a lot of short term care clients. We hesitated moving her up near us because she was getting such good care and thriving. But once she started getting depressed, we knew we needed to move her up here (see Sunny View Care Center). On the day she was transported, staff came in to say goodbye to her. They really cared about my mother in law and her health and happiness. Hubby & I looked at a lot of care centers (skilled nursing facilities) up here in Silicon Valley. We saw quite a variety. One important thing is how well do they keep the facility. AVCC is clean and well maintained. Nitpicks - There were only restrooms in the front lobby area...and staff uses them as well. Once a visitor or resident was using one of them as her private phone booth which was frustrating. Mother in law liked the food at first but then she thought it was so much better than what she was getting in Ridgecrest. Eventually, she started grumbling that it was dog food. (She's feisty) All the food we saw her get was well made. But it's hospital food. There weren't any choices that I know of. One of her hearing aids disappeared. No one knows where or why, but the staff took ownership and are working with my husband to pay the replacement cost. Parking was reasonable that we found along the sides. A few weeks ago, my 89-year-old dad was here and thankfully my brother was visiting him. My brother noticed that our dad was having a stroke and seizure. He yelled for a nurse to call 911. They refused and said nothing was wrong. My brother had to run out of the rehab center to get wifi service to call 911 himself! This place was also run down and filthy. read more

My x husband has been here for 3 weeks. He had a stroke and is paralyzed on one side and barely speaking. It is not the fanciest place you're ever seen but the nurses and staff have all been great. OT, PT, and speech therapy has been done 5 times each per week. Everyone is friendly and efficient. To me having a great care team is the main goal. You could have a high tech fancy place and bad workers. I have zero complaints or concerns about staff and care. read more

Terrible care there. No doctor on premises. I was told "he" only drops in about once a month and lives out of the area.

This was by far the worst experience ever. I was here because i was released from the hospital and awaiting hip surgery. The average time after using the call button was 6-8 hours . Never got meds on time snd never got pain meds on time . One of the cna's they had recently hired came into my room one night loaded and slurring her words. The room i was in was infested with cockroaches. I told them on multiple occasions yet nothing was done. I went for surgery and was in the hospital for three days. I chose to go to another facility for rehab. I was told all my clothes and belongings would be kept safe and locked up. When I requested my things I discovered half of my clothes had bern stolen brand new pj's sweatshirts and tshirts i had purchased off amazon while i was there. They actually went through my stuff and picked out the best stuff!! This place is an absolute hell hole!! The physical therapy staff are awesome and the woman who drives the transport truck is an absolute doll but everything else was horrible. Trust me i really wanted to be able to come back here because there were a couple of nurses i really liked but after leaving 4 requests as to whats going to be done about all my missing items and not getting one returned phone call i decided to go to another facility. The social service dept is horrific and does not work in the best interest if the patient . They actually lie and are incompetent. I was told by May who works in social services that medicare does not cover skilled nursing 48 hours before going into the hospital for surgery and that i needed to go home. I called medicare and they said they had never ever heard that rule before and it was ridiculous. Thats really scary when social services makes up their own rules. Not sure why but something was definitely not kosher!!!! read more

If i could leave no star i would, my cousin has been staying at this facility for a couple months now and has received the worst of the worst care. Mind you he is disabled and relies on 24hr care, he has been injured several times because of poor equipment and the carelessness of their staff. Definitely wouldn't recommend if you really care and love your loved ones, this facility and the workers here don't take any responsibility & never did they once apologize for the incidents that had happened to my cousin . They are only here for a paycheck. I don't understand why people get these type of jobs when they have no compassion towards their patients . The halls smell very bad such poor ventilation nothing like the lobby. Shortage of staff is a norm especially Nights, Weekends and holidays. No doctors on site. These doctors take hours to respond. Good luck if you need immediate changes on medication or referrals. Not once did a doctor show up to see my relative. The food looks and tastes bad. Floors always filthy. DirtyLaundry bins never have a bag on them. Staff and family members just place soiled lines on floors or on top of the lids. Go see for yourself. Equipment/beds outdated such a safety hazard. Ask how many residents fall off the beds. Don't by pass looking at these issues. If they cannot handle the amount of patients they shouldn't keep accepting new ones. It's that simple. Always check for bed sores they never move the necessary patients positions it's sad. read more

I cant begin to explain how happy I am with the service provided at AVCC, my grandfather stayed a few months at AVCC for rehab and recovery and they were amazing. They work hard to accomodate patients needs, they show genuine care and empathy when concerns are brought up and really make you feel cared for. Ms. Yesenia the marketer was so amazing, you instantly get the feeling that she cares very much for these patients and has such a knack for speaking to families and Brenda in admissions has the perfect personality to be working in that department, she follows up as needed and works hard to make sure things run smoothly. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone that needs these types of services. read more

My husband has been here for 2 weeks and has received exceptional care all around. It is very clean and all the personal are very nice. The friendliness of the staff is really lifting his spirits. There are always some activities going on. Yesterday he went into the beauty shop and seriously got one of the best hair cuts ever for $14. The physical therapy is really getting him in shape to come home! I was apprehensive about leaving him in a care facility, but we had no choice, I did not have the equipment at home to help him heal. They do here and with compassion. And the best part, they allow his dog to visit. Please don't put your family in this place. They are horrible. The staff mistreates the patients. They have patients with bed sores and saying the staff ignores them. There's an employee there by the name of Flor who is the worse. She is rude and very unpleasant. She stays on her phone the whole time and ignores the patients. She has even been overheard talking badly about them saying that they are needy and get on her nerves. If she doesn't like her job then maybe she should seek employment elsewhere. read more

Unfortunately, we had the need for a care facility for my mom and if I couLd give this place 10 stars, I would. I can't say enough about the staff and how compassionate and understanding they are here. My mom meant the world to me and they treated her as if she meant the world to them. I will forever be grateful for everyone at this facility. I should name my favorites, but they are all my favorites. read more
