I requested a quote online over the weekend and received a call Monday morning. John set me up with an appointment and ordered the windshield then and there. What was the most helpful that he called my insurer while I was on the phone with him. My insurer told me that the crack had to be larger than a silver dollar to cover replacement. They went on to say that Blue Chip was not a partner of their insurance company. I asked the insurer if that meant that they wouldn't cover the windshield if Blue Chip replaced it. John promptly jumped in and told me that the windshield would be covered 100%, but that the warranty would be covered by Blue Chip rather than my insurer. I appreciated the clarification. He told me that there would be zero out of pocket cost to me. The insurer told me that the repair would be covered and John did the rest (which was literally everything). Blue Chip replaced the windshield right in my driveway, again, at no cost to me. The service tech, Dan, was on-time and went out of his way to answer my questions, like calibration of the camera. Since my vehicle was newer, it had a camera for emergency braking and adaptive cruise control, which required calibration by an authorized tech when the windshield was replaced. Blue Chip took care of that as well. Dan showed me where the camera was mounted and why it needed to be calibrated with the windshield change. Dan was professional, competent, fast and friendly. In the end, I got a shiny new windshield installed by professionals at no cost to me. I have found my permanent glass company!

Installer came out and proceeded to talk to me while installing…read moreabout how he kept getting bugged by the office because some prior customers were complaining that their windshield leaked but he swore they were just old and didn't know what they were talking about. After he pulled our old window off he got ready to put the new one on and I asked if he could clean off the dash where all the broken glass was cuz we couldn't reach it with the window on and he huffed and said "no but I'll give you a rag if you want to do it". I offered him water or soda when he was done and he said, "no thanks I'm going to go home right now before telling the office I'm done". One week later, went to the car wash - our window leaked all over the passenger side. We had already driven 2 total hours to get the recalibration. And paid to have a tint strip applied. Called to complain and they scheduled a new install but it took 6 phone calls to get them to agree to pay for the recalibration again and the tint. Save yourself the hours and hassle and just pay for SafeLite - the few hundred bucks is worth it to have it done right.

Idk if this is some shady tactic or just negligence but he tried to assure me that he was "sending his best technician" and would do their best to reuse the existing parts and if we could not reuse the parts that I had the right to refuse the service. I told Dave if we could not reuse the parts to not move forward. They canceled the appointment without even coming out.

When I asked him why he didn't call me earlier on Friday, he "didn't want to inconvenience me with an early phone call". I cleared my schedule TWICE only to get told on 20-30 minutes notice that they're not coming. STAY AWAY.
