I found this place through the Sonny Angel app and they are one of the few places in OC that is an official Sonny Angel Authorized Retailer. This means that they only sell them for $2 above what the website sells it for instead of $5-10 from other places. The staff are very kind, and they often have various Sonnys and Smiskis available. We were running out of time so one of the ladies offered to build an entire dollhouse for us, wrap all of her presents, then deliver everything to our house that night! I absolutely love this shop , and it's been 5 years I shop there. I'm so glad they are now in Newport Beach! All of my daughter's best outfits, and even some of mine are from Anthill ShopNplay. Every piece is a statement but complements to so many outfits! A hint of European taste is what we all need sometimes. Not in your face, very subtle, but truly beautiful. And what I like is that you can find really not very expensive stuff, along with the best brands. DO NOT SHOP at this Store!!!!!!!!!! My friend bought a gift for my son and accidentally forgot to give a gift receipt. Therefore, just like any other store, I brought the items in to get a credit. The employee, Adolpho made me (a 38 week pregnant woman) stand there for 45 minutes while trying to "figure" out what to do while my toddler ran around. All I wanted was an even exchange for toy cars. The three items had their label, price tag, and name Anthill on them. I saw them displayed in the store when we walked in. I decided to leave after feeling incredibly frustrated and call the owner. I spoke with her and explained that I've never waited so long in my life for someone to figure out an even exchange or receive such poor customer service when NOBODY was in the store but me. I truly don't see how this store can stay in business with their outrageous prices and horrible customer service. read more

I was impressed with the variety of unique learning toys available for children and kids clothes. Some of the brands were international European and good quality. I especially liked the toddler beach bikes and wooden push bikes for toddlers. The upstairs had a great selection of woman's clothes, jewelry, accessories of high end quality. We were so excited to come visit the new Anthill location when we saw it opened a block from our house. Recently my daughter (10 years old) excitedly wanted to spend her allowance money there. While shopping my 2 year old accidentally dropped a ceramic figurine on the floor and broke it, within seconds I picked it up apologized and let the employee know I would pay for the figurine when we were done shopping. Please note there is a large display 2-3 feet high covered with glass snow globes and ceramic figurines that small children can easily grab and brake like my child did. I recommended placing objects like this higher since this is also a children's toy store. Our shopping experience was quickly ruined when the two employees followed us around the store and gave us dirty looks, as if I was going to run out with my two kids. They were completely rude and not understanding. We paid for the broken toy along with our figurines and left. I am saddened to say this will be my last shopping experience at Anthill. read more

The shop owner followed myself and my 10 year old son around the shop and actually physically touched my son and yanked something away from him that he was looking at. She glared at us and made us feel like criminals and asked that we not touch anything, when we did nothing wrong. How do you own a store that sells children's toys and clothing but not allow people to touch and look at things before buying? I told her she would never get any of our business again. This store has a great selection of toys but has an overwhelming smell of men's cologne in the store. I have bought a large stuffed animal and wondered why it smelled so strong of cologne and revisited the store to smell it throughout. I consider myself pretty cordial and level headed but I was not informed of this policy upon purchasing an insanely over priced toy for a friend's baby and I'm pretty annoyed. I did not open the toy, it was literally sitting in the shopping bag untouched since I bought it last week. I'm now stuck with store credit to a store I am no longer a fan of, and it just feels wrong. I feel tricked. What kind of store doesn't allow returns without that policy being obviously stated to customers? The girl behind the register couldn't have been more bothered to have to look up from her phone was rude and told me to look at the bottom of my receipt for the policy. Ok? Just stumbled across this shop while having lunch at Eat Chow. Wow, what a hidden and unique gem in Orange County. Upstairs has a lot of really rad vintage reproduction clothing, shoes and accessories. Definitely $$$ but sooo many gorgeous and unique items you'd only find online. I'll be saving my pennies for a cute dress over there! Downstairs is like a wonderland of cutesy kitsch toys, party supplies and gifts. Lots of stuff you'd see on Instagram but IRL. This store is genius! The kids play in a safe and fun area while parents get a break to actually look and shop. The day I went Christina was able to play with my daughter. This was major for me to have time to look, it also allowed for me to spend more money in their store so great marketing strategy on their part. Veronica was very helpful in showing me around store and gift wrapping my items for a friend. I went in to get a gift but ended buying a bundle of goodies for my family too. This place is SO COOL. I live close by and have always wondered what it is, so went in today to see. This "shop" has it all - funny gag gifts, bachelorette party stuff, an amazing array of baby and kids clothes and toys, and other unique items - perfect for finding cool gifts as well. Upstairs are women's clothes and shoes, jewelry, etc. The owner finds items from boutiques all around the world, and what she finds are super cute, some eccentric, one-of-kind clothes and accessories.
