One of the few last standing store fronts in Orange County. The store is brightly light and pretty organized. Boys on one side and girls on the other. Their sales associates were very helpful. They offered to help us order something online that the store only had one left, it was going to be sent to us for free of charge. However, we decided to keep the last remaining baby dragon costume. Go there and shop on your own! Don't deal with the staff there at all cost - except for necessary check out. Recently had a little one and Carter's clothes became part of the gig. The clothes are cute though if you have a boy, it's pretty much dinosaurs, cars, or firefighters... Carter's nay want to expand their boys' line and be more 21st century focused! Selection is decent at this store. However, the staff is clearly there for their paycheck and that's it. Nobody to help out and definitely not friendly at all. Went there twice and was just disappointed at both times. Another annoying thing is: don't bring your stroller. The space between clothing isn't great so don't expect a customer-centric store. read more

This is my favorite place to shop for baby clothes. Every time there is a baby shower, I pick up and go straight to Carter's. I love looking at all the cute clothes and the matching toys, accessories, and gift bags to go with them! They even have toddler and youth sizes (up to size 6 or 6x for girls and size 7 for boys). I could probably spend hours looking at all the adorable things. This store is always so clean and organized! With all the sales going on and tons of people that shop here, I'm amazing by how clean they keep this store. I usually find the right sizes and styles very quickly! The staff is also friendly and helpful here. When I came in a week ago, Elina made sure to tell me about the sale. I brought up one item to the register, and she mentioned that the sale was "Buy one, get the second item free". Yay! I love a friendly staff and great discounts! They always have wonderful sales! Since babies and toddlers outgrow clothing so quickly, it's always nice to stock on certain things when they are on sale. I sometimes buy one outfit in a smaller size and one in a larger size so when my friend's child outgrows the first outfit, they have a different one waiting in a larger size. The customer service has been great here! With the wonderful sales, pleasant staff (Elina is always so helpful!), a well organized store, and such adorable clothes and accessories, this will remain one of favorite stores for buying amazing baby gifts! read more

There's a reason why this location has 2 stars. The staff (for the most part) is awful. Super unhelpful & just so annoying to deal with or talk to. I went into this location for the first time for returns & a pickup. I was unlucky enough to have to converse with Marina. This woman is so bossy & acts like such a know it all. Her tone of voice is so condescending, not only to me but to the girl she was "training" that was trying to help me. First off, don't expect them to apparently have any knowledge on how to return something you bought online. If you don't bring the packing slip, they'll basically tell you they can't help you. I told her there obviously had to be some other way so she reluctantly let me know that Carter's MIGHT have emailed me some kind of barcode that they could scan. You know if you order something they send you a few emails saying they got your order then saying they shipped it & then millions of "we're having a sale!!" emails all under different email addresses that you have to sift through just to find the damn barcode!! Like okay thank you so much. Let me just maybe find this potential barcode that the company you worked 10 years for might have sent me so I could do my damn returns in person. Well I found it & they scanned my items, which for some reason came back at a discounted price.. so they gave me my money back AT THE DISCOUNTED PRICE... cool thank you! I could've just mailed in my returns, didn't have to deal with attitude & gotten my money back IN FULL but nope I went in person like an idiot. I want to say that next time I'll just purchase & return online, but honestly after this experience (along with several terrible ones at the Lake Forest location) I won't be shopping at carters again. Target, Nordstrom etc. can take my money because they know how to hire people that CARE about customer service. read more

I like Carters, most of the time. Today I came by at 6:02pm to pick up a curbside pickup order only to be informed that they don't do curbside pickup within one hour of closing (7pm). This information was not in the email I received, nor was it posted on their doorfront with their store hours. So, as a result, I had to unpack my one and two year old and get them in the store to get my order, as I was not going to come twice. Not only that, when I get to my car I realize that they didn't even hand me all of my order. Then, I have to go back up to the door to get the rest. Poor customer service, poor attention to detail, and not accommodating for people with children, which is the key demographic served here. read more

Love Carters stuff but I made an online purchase for store pickup and got the email that the rest of my order was ready for pickup. Yay! I read the email in its entirety, saw the store was open until 7 so I swung by after I picked up my 4-yr-old from school. Arrived at 6:03pm. Called 4 times until someone finally answered which was now 6:10pm. Told her my name for pickup. She told me they stopped doing curbside pickup at 6 and told me to come inside. First off, I arrived at 6:03 and had to call 4 times until someone finally answered. I think if they would've answered the phone the first time they would've been fine bringing it out at 6:03. Second, I know she heard my kids crying in the back. I have an 18 month old who hates the car so no I wasn't going to take my two kids out of their car seats and drag them into the store for an order that was already ready and take two seconds just to strap them back into their car seats for them to be even more upset. They were losing it in the back and I just wanted to get my order and get home quickly. Third, I have read the email up and down. NOWHERE does it say curbside pickup hours. Nowhere. It shows store hours which is 7pm. The store was open, I was parked right outside, and the associate turned me down. I was already having a bad day and this was just the grain of rice that tipped the scale. I seriously don't understand why the employee couldn't just walk out my order to me, even if they did stop at 6:00. I just barely missed that time. But more than that, how the heck am I supposed to know the curbside pickup hours? It doesn't say it anywhere on the email so I don't think that was right. So either they need to change their emails so they show us what times we are able to come pick up our orders, or someone at the Tustin Marketplace Carter's store needs to be retrained because that was unbelievable that I was turned down and couldn't pick up my order curbside when I showed up at 6:03 and the store closed at 7pm. Asked for an item check before I headed to this store since I live 30 mins away. The gentlemen on the phone got the sku # from me and said they have it and told me to come. Drove there and there was nothing on hold. I told them I called ahead and they said that they have it. The lady blamed me for "hanging up too early." Well, your guy said that you guys have it and asked me to come before he hung up first. In the end, they didnt have it. -_- So much for checking before coming. I come to this location because it's right next to my house. It's a little on the small side but it's clean and well organized. I notice things sell out fast here so you have to check back often for new arrivals. A lot of times I get here and the sizes I need are out of stock. I do agree customer service here is lacking. There are always at least 2-3 staff members around. "Friendliness" is definitely hit or miss. There are some people that are a little cold and non-friendly. read more

I love this store! There are always so many baby clothes to choose from! So many, shapes, designs and colors! I started coming here about 3 years ago, just a few months before my baby niece was born and it became my "go to" store for spoiling my niece and 1 year old nephew with clothes. So i'm usually here, once a month. I love how they always seem to have a sale going on. Plus, I signed up online for their e-mail coupons/deals, so there are times, when I get a coupon for an additional 10% off items, that are already on sale! The store is a bit small, so for any of you with strollers, it's hard to meanuver in there. Usually, there are two sales associates working the store, or at least, when i've gone, there have been. I was just there around 4pm, the day after Thanksgiving and I was surprised to see that the store was still somewhat organized! read more

Went here to pick up some quick gifts for my friend's new baby before I saw them. It's conveniently located in a less crowded area of the Irvine Market Place. The place is actually pretty small, but I guess I'm used to going to Babies R' Us and seeing their ginormous Carter's area. There seemed to be a single employee working and she was overwhelmed. She tried her best to be cheery but I could see she just wanted the year ... no, the day, to end. It was 11:30am. The selection was a bit scarce but there was a sale going around, most likely to clear out the current stock. After about 10 minutes, I had what I wanted. It's always harder shopping for a girl because the parents tend to be more discriminating on what she wears. I've learned over the years that the best gift clothes are not ones for the current time, because they have plenty of those. Especially when the baby is younger than 2, it's best to buy clothes for 3, 6, or 9 months ahead of time since the baby grows so fast. They haven't thought that far ahead about clothes and they'll appreciate having a buttload of onesies for 3 or 6 months from now. Trust me. read more

This store has a lot for being so tiny, but for such a small store, things tend to be disorganized and the staff--not so great. They try, I think, but something is not connecting. Things were out of place on sales racks when they weren't on sale, signs weren't up or stated that certain things were on sale, but you couldn't tell what from what... etc. I haven't been to any other Carter's stores so I can't compare apples to apples, but it just seems that staffing is an issue here. read more

Brought in items to return that I purchased online, knowing full well that I would not get a refund because I lost the receipt. Apparently though, you are not allowed to receive store credits without a receipt here; you have to make an exchange in the store at the time, you cannot get a store receipt to come back and shop at a later time. My kids have outgrown Carter's style, but I was in a bind before photo day when my child needed black socks to go with her costume. I was running late, and only had a few minutes to find the socks, so my choices were Target or Carter's. I figured Target would be crowded on the weekend, so I thought Carter's would be quicker. I'm glad I came in, because I was in and out in 5. They didn't have black girl's socks, but the boy's socks worked. And there was no single pair available, I had to buy a three pack of black, white and navy. Then I ended up buying two three packs because it was bogo. But of course there was only one pack in the right size, so I had to buy one pack in the next size up. All in all, I ended up with 6 pairs of socks for about $12, after the cashier used coupon she had in the drawer. Not a horrible deal, but I went in to buy one pair. Lol. I will say the socks are good quality, and my daughter says they're her favorite socks now. Which is good because she's got 6 pairs. read more

In general Carter's is probably my least favorite baby store. Their "sales" make you feel like you are getting a deal, but then you get to the register and find out that there are all these exclusions. Then you get home and if you want to return something, FORGET IT! Their return policy is probably the worst I have seen. They make you spend the money right then and there and will not issue you a gift card, which means you are frantically trying to search the store for something that you don't need and decipher their prices and "discounts" to add up to the amount you are returning. It's a mess! Not to mention the employees see you waiting in line and continue to stock clothes instead of opening another register to help decrease the line. Don't go here! Tried to exchange for another one, the staff told me I can't exchange for a new one because the kid pulled the necklace too hard so it broke... she is only 4 years old, how can she expect a kid knows what force to have to open a necklace. I got to the store 5 min before opening and the employee saw me waiting outside. She was on the phone. Opened the door at 10:02 and I wasn't even greeted. I had a return so she helped me with that while continuing her phone conversation. She asked me if I wanted to browse and I said yes but after browsing for 15 min, I didn't find anything so I went to the counter. I remained standing to see how long it would take her to notice me and I waited for 5 min until she turned around and asked if I needed help. Horrible experience at the store. What kind of kid store doesn't want people to use the restroom . When I bought clothes for my LO, I was welcomed to use the restroom but this time when I went to return a few items, my 65 yr old father in law wanted to use the restroom while we wait to return the items, I get this big talk from the lady at the counter how these restrooms aren't for public use. This is so sad that customer service is manifested only when you are buying and not when you are returning a few items. Not returning to the store ever again. Love shopping at this place for my nephew and friends' kids 2 and under. The 2 and over girls clothes aren't that great, but sometimes you can find stuff. I don't have kids myself, but I love shopping here for the sales and coupons! Never buy anything full price, cause it will eventually go on sale....or make sure to use a coupon. Just sign up for their mailing list. Most of the time you can get coupons for future use when you purchase something. read more

I have consistently had excellent customer service at this location and have been there many times. I deducted one star because while some of the prices are very good, I think all the prices should be outlet-prices. But, that said, I always leave with a big bag of great clothes and they are very much appreciated by the recipients. Good quality and styling. The store is alright. Pretty well stocked. But the customer service is poor. The girl that answered the phone seemed completely uninterested in helping me. I got a lot of "uhhs" and "I don't knows" and I could hear her asking the same question to other employees around her. She said that there was no way to know whether or not an item I saw online was in the store. Either she's lazy or misinformed. You can't just walk over and take a look at the racks to see if it's there? You can't look it up in the store inventory with the item number? Carter's is a huge chain business, it seems unlikely they would have such an unsophisticated computer system that the employees couldn't check inventory from a register. My son LOVES the Lego table here. So that helps keep him busy while I shop for cute, little kids clothes. I always buy my kids clothes there when they are on sale. You can get coupons online if you sign up for their mailing list. Their super duper clearances have good deals for baby showers and 1st and 2nd bday parties. The Spectrum location is a bit bigger but doesn't seem to carry as much boys clothes. read more
