I'm giving this place a one star review for multiple reasons…read more First, they give horrible customer service, as seen and experienced on multiple occasions, Second, their selection is lack luster and very small in variety, Third, their prices are inflated in comparison to other shops in South Orange County (which is saying a lot), and Fourth the singles I have purchased from them in the past, have not been kept in great condition, which is shame on me for expecting a card store to keep their cards in good condition or without first disclosing surface issues when present. I first started going to Rizo's because of proximity. Even though they weren't a good LCS (local card shop), they were close. Once, my wife went to buy a gift for me, and the gentleman behind the counter decided to help a customer who had arrived after her. This was upsetting, but I gave them the benefit of the situation. We never know what people are going through on a specific day, so it didn't derail me making occasional trips and buying cards from them. There was even a sale lady who was actually nice and with my permission gave my kids stickers. So I figured my wife's situation was just a one off mishap. On my recent visit to their store, my wife reluctantly accompanied me. We were celebrating a family milestone, and she wanted to be there with us. We had a three-year-old and a one-year-old with us, who were well-behaved in the store since we had been there multiple times before. On this visit, we came into the store and found that another family with a couple kids were already looking at the cases and hunting for their collections. Because I was familiar with this store, I said a pleasent hello to the guy working the counter (and watching the soccer game on TV), and proceeded to look for some cards. During this visit my 3 year old was looking at the cards through the glass, as EVERYONE was doing, and the sales clerk wearing meta glasses decides to single out my son and tell him to not touch the glass... this was very jolting, as EVERYONE in that moment was touching the glass... why was this male adult, talking to and isolating the actions of my 3 year old son? My 3 year old son was not yelling, he was not hitting the glass, he was not even 3 feet away from my wife (who was leaning on the glass looking at an expensive card set and wanting to purchase). This situation caused my wife and I both to be concerned. This Rizo employee was not only talking to my son and singling out a 3 year old boy for doing something that everyone in the store was doing, but he continued to affirm his actions as though my son was doing something wrong... the same thing EVERYONE was doing. It's a card store, the majority of cards are behind glass, at any establishment where goods are behind glass, that glass is going to be touched. And if it was such precious glass, why was the family who was there before us not instructed in the same manner?! I tried to address the male Rizo representative, who chose to confront my 3 year old son, and I could see that his attitude and mindset was confrontational and arrogant. My wife had already left the store with my 2 kids, and I was literally about to walk out of the store myself, until this meta glasses, entitled and confrontational Rizo employee said I needed to control my 3 year old... what?!? Do I also NEED to control your other customers doing the EXACT same thing, or control my wife who WANTED to spend a lot of money to celebrate?!? This enraged me and when I asked to speak to the manager, the manager came out and could not have cared less about the situation. I had been going to this store for a while, and had personally sent in multiple customers thinking I could help an LCS. I gave them my business instead of going to EBay, WhatNot, or other Card Stores. I will never return to, buy from, suggest, or endorse anyone to go to this store. Especially if you have kids, which is crazy considering half their store is Pokeman. Drive a little further, save a little money, have a better experience, and go anywhere else...especially if you have young kids.

3 stars are for average performance as a card shop, nothing special…read more 2 stars are given because this place lacks some basic business common sense. I normally choose to support local card shops rather than ordering online but that is changing now. Card shops used to be a place where you would go as a kid and look around and purchase a pack or two. These people want you to support their shop but they don't really care about the card shop experience. Case in point is I showed up with my 2 kids and there was a line of about 50 people outside. The people outside said to go inside if you aren't there for some random card release for a specific genre. I was there to grab starter decks from Magic for my son and I and then pokemon for him and his sister to open. We were turned away at the door and told to wait in line; couldn't even browse the store. In what world is having a 5 year old and a 3 year old wait behind 50 grown adults who are there for another card release in 96 degree weather the classic card shop experience? I will not be returning as I had to come back and drop another $1200 that evening so my kids weren't entirely let down, but that was the last time. After talking to two cashiers about it, they didn't seem to care at all. Not expected since it's minimum wage but I don't see this place sticking around in a decade or if there's another government shutdown for whatever BS reason. I have probably spent about 10k this past year at this store which isn't much (I only go in once a month if that) but if they keep catering to scalpers that drive from all over verses their local community, they will not reach much success. I run a 50 million dollar company so they should take my advice because this shit is basic. Here's a thought, have a dedicated cashier or POS tablet to go and check out everyone outside instead of making toddlers stand in line in nearly 100 degree weather. Use your brain. As of right now, this place is NOT kid or family friendly.

This place is a super cute, friendly, and homely store!…read more The owner, Duncan, is very personable and connected well with me and my friend over Magic The Gathering Cards, and even revealing his wife collected the My Little Pony Kayou cards! His prices are extremely reasonable! And I cannot wait to see this store blossom! It's already been opened for just a year, and every customer who walked in was greeted with a smile, and he seemed to be familiar with a good handful of them! Plus, if you care, pick his brain about his story it's super interesting :) I cannot recommend more to come by and check out the bulk boxes, and see whatever events they'll be holding up!

Lots of counterfeits, altered cards and opening boxes for hits and resealing them is happening in the hobby, but not at MVP sports cards they have one of the best graded card selection and products sealed and not ram-sacked. There's no sign on the door stating any sort of closure and their hours on Google say they should be open. Additionally, the business hours sign on the front door is completely off, giving me no idea if and when to return. I think that answers that question. Why come back to a place you can't count on being open? Call their phone several times, but their mailbox is full and there is no recording with hours or their closure. Fully disappointed.

Do We Collectibles offered only 70% TRADE Value. I understand every shop has different margins, but I found the offer to be well below what other local shops are willing to offer, let alone trade. I'd recommend shopping around before making a deal here.

My little brother was on the hunt for Pokémon cards and so that's why we stopped in, they had a few, but it is definitely not their main card game that they support here. And it's still worth a visit and if you're looking to explore outside of Pokémon and into maybe magically gathering or the other game that I can't remember, the staff was really friendly and answering questions.
