This place has extremely bad services, racist staff, and even commits ILLEGAL CREDIT CARD FRAUD and FORGERY by changing the tip amount I already signed. Do not go here if you want your credit card information to be safe! My friends went there on 11.01. The staff was extremely rude--he was actively ignoring us (three poc women) while serving other tables, and we waited at least 30 minutes to be able to order. And he messed up at least two items in our order and we didn't even receive the food we ordered! We were given two wrong items, and he continued to ignore us when we wanted to address it. Even among the one or two times when we had the chance to talk to him (since the whole time he was ignoring us), he was visibly extremely impatient and rude. We decided to call it a night and ate whatever he gave us and left. We intentionally left only $3 tip because of how bad the services were. However, this restaurant decided to commit ILLEGAL CREDIT CARD FRAUD and FORGERY by changing the tip amount I already signed into a 20% tip! There is absolutely no way I'm signing a 20% tip after receiving such bad services from an extremely hostile and racist staff. (Please see my images below for proof.) DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!! This was the WORST experience I've ever had at any place I've went to. Everything started off ok. We ordered our food and waited for it to come. So, food finally comes but only 4 of us got our food. Reason being that the a**hole waiter completely ignored my black friend and didn't take his order. I called the diner and had a very long conversation with one of the managers who told me this guy has a record for people complaining about him and has been working there for FOUR YEARS!!!!! Our food came out super fast, hot and fresh. I ordered the brioche french toast with fresh strawberries, 2 eggs over medium with bacon. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the french toast was on point. My husband had the grilled chicken deluxe sandwich with cooked onions and a side of french fries, he enjoyed it. I was in Queens to buy a suit and saw a big canopy that said Sunset diner. At first glance it look like a very small place but when you walk in it looks bigger and the inside than it does in the outside. The staff is very nice from the moment I walked in they greeted me and see it me very fast. We're very attentive to the things I ordered. It wasn't the world's greatest cup of coffee, but it definitely got the job done. It was hot and served instantly; that's all you could ever really ask for. I knew I wanted something I don't usually get; something that screamed "I'm being indulgent today, and it's okay!" and that something was the brioche french toast with apples. When it came, I was a little disappointed that the apples were only thinly sliced fresh on top instead of being warm and caramelized, but the crispiness of it made it actually more refreshing than what I was anticipating. The change in texture was welcomed, and the french toast was exactly what my soul was needing. Light, airy, and perfectly made. Gooey inside with a crunch on the outside. For something so simple, it was incredibly tasty; it demanded I finish my plate, no matter how full I really was. One star was taken away for not asking for my COVID vaccination card, since this is supposed to be mandatory, and I'm a first time customer. I've ordered from this diner for a while since I live nearby. I'm not one to write negative reviews but I want to get the owners attention. Last night I ordered $45 worth of food from DoorDash. I've used this app, among others before, to order late night food. I never received communication that the food was picked up and would be on its way. Instead the dasher/delivery person just randomly left the food outside on the ground in front of my building! Seriously? What is wrong with you? I live in NYC and near an area that this is not cool at all to do that, plus why wouldn't you buzz my bell? Knock on the door? Nope. Nothing.
