    Personal margarita pizza

It was a good serving size for the price and feeding one person. The pizza itself was tasty and I'd definitely get it again. I got delivery so I can't say how good the service was or the ambiance.

There's so much good pizza in this area and AF is no exception. It's one of our preferred places and we've ordered from here many times and will continue to do so! Great NY style pizza with a good crust. It's crisp and tender at the same time and reheats well.

Look close and see the hair in the bread

We have been long time customers of Anthony Francos. Tonight we ordered several dishes from them for dinner. One of our meals a cheese steak, had a hair baked into the bread. When I called to ask for Brian I was told he was not there. When I asked when he would be in, they told me maybe every other Friday. I then requested the phone number of his other site and was told by the girl that answered the phone that she didn't know the number. She told me that Kelvin was the Mgr in duty and that I could talk to him. I chose not to and asked her, again , to get the phone number at the other store. Eventually she gave it to me. I then called Brian's 2nd location and spoke to a very cocky guy who basically told me good luck in reaching Brian. He doesn't know when he will be back at the store. I asked him to give Brian my name and number so that he could call me because I had a complaint. He told me he'd do his best. I called the Wayne store back and asked for Kelvin. Spoke to the same girl that I spoke to originally who asked if I wanted to speak to Kelvin. Well, he wasn't available. Then he wasn't there. The service and food quality have declined dramatically in the last couple of years. Very disappointing

In the area, two places I recommend for pizza: Wayne Ale House for Chicago-style bar pie and here, Anthony Franco's for Sicilian, pan crust and NY style/thin crust pizza (very little or no flop even after driving home). If looking for Neapolitan pizza, you would need to venture north, out to nearby Pazza in Franklin Lakes. AF also makes great sandwiches, pasta and other Italian-American dishes. They recently added wonderful burgers to the menu; Highly recommend the American cheeseburger and Swiss mushroom burger. Even with all the inflation, their prices are pretty reasonable, in my opinion, and they are very generous with the portions. One main dish feeds two people easily. Only criticism (minor) - Their garlic knots need more garlic and oil. Recommend ordering online for pick up. After certain number of orders, you get $10 off your next order. You can easily modify your order online as well. This restaurant is very popular, so expect a full house, especially on Friday/Saturday evenings. Service - excellent : 9 cannolis

So we started the year off thinking we had found our go to pizza place in town and then here comes Anthony Franco the last month or so totally surprising us with its light and airy pizza... and is it just me or does the crust have a little sweetness to it, too? Whatever they're doing, I'm loving it, their pizza is top-notch. Cannot wait to try some other pies as well.. the buff chicken and chicken/bacon/ranch both looked especially good last time I picked up. Hubs has also been trying wings from various pizza shops across town and commented that their wings were some of the best he's had so far. Last visit we ordered the boneless and I have zero complaints about them. Nicely breaded, fried up and sauced just the right amount. I do, however, have some minor complaints with the garlic knots. Aw man, I love garlic knots, but unfortunately, Anthony Franco's are just not worthy of my love. I found them smaller than others, and just not buttery/olive oily/parmesean-y and garlicky enough. And while we've only ever ordered pizza to go, I have been inside the restaurant to order/wait and it is such a vibe. Very old school, a little kitch, and 100% reminds me of my great aunt and uncle's kitchen with it's fresco paintings.. it's just missing a bowl of ceramic fruits. :-P

Best pizza, sandwiches and service around. Total family favorite. Thanks to the Anthony Franco's team. The best. Very clean inside.

We called ahead before placing a pickup order to ask what specialty slices were available. Among the options listed were penne vodka and eggplant rollatini slices--so that's what I ordered. But when we picked up the food just 10 minutes later, they somehow had already "run out" of the eggplant slice. Instead of telling us that, they slapped some eggplant, ricotta, and globs of sauce onto a plain slice like it was some lazy, last-minute substitute. It was greasy, floppy, falling apart--and absolutely disgusting. I've had the actual eggplant rollatini slice from here before, and this wasn't even close. When we called to say the slice wasn't what we ordered, they casually admitted they had run out of it. No apology. No heads-up. Nothing. If they had just said something at pickup, I would've chosen something else--like a second penne vodka slice, which they still had in the case at that very moment. But instead of making it right, they claimed they had none left and refused to do anything about it. That's horrible customer service. Your staff messed up, not me--and the way you handled it showed how little you value your customers. We even offered a few simple ways they could fix it, and they still refused--knowing full well I'd be writing this review. They also refused to let us speak to the manager about it. You served me sloppy food I didn't order, then doubled down instead of making it right. Disgusting food and disgusting service tonight.

    Arugula Thin Crust Sicilian Pie

If the hustle and bustle behind the counter and plenty of folks coming in and out is not enough to say that the food and service are wonderful, then read on! The comfortable and spacious surroundings far exceeds the average pizza place in Jersey. The staff from phone call to counter engagement is always wonderful. Whether it is pizza, sandwiches, dinners, or more, we are often satisfied. Today, we picked up our favorite Arugula thin crust Sicilian pie! Yummy! Enjoy!

Decided to get lunch from this location. The order was called in, and I ordered the buffalo chicken wings and a slice of pizza. When I arrived I parked in the plaza lot. I walked in and went to the counter. The food was ready and the price wasn't bad. I paid and left. When I dug in, I wasn't a fan of the wings. It was a but too salty, and the pizza needed more sauce, in my opinion. All in all, I had an ok experience.

Good grief the vino bianco/herb cream sauce on the mussels was incredible! Really! I could not get enough of it. I don't believe we've ever seen mussels on their menu, but man! These were phenomenal! The only complaint would be that there were not enough of the mussels. The ricotta cavatelli was also amazing... as are all of Viaggio's pasta dishes and sauces. After a quick search on the internet, I noticed the restaurant got mixed reviews. Most customers complaining about the owner, service and prices. I also noticed that Stefano's serves pizza, cannoli, gelato and a variety of Italian entrees. Always willing to try a cannoli and gelato, I stopped for a quick treat. Wow, they had so many varieties of cannoli and gelato to choose from. The cannoli I selected was delicious with a crispy tasty shell and sweat ricotta filling. They claim that the cannoli are made fresh everyday, I would not argue with that. They are reasonably priced at $4.50. The gelato flavors were tempting and on my next stop I'll have to try their gelato. I took the cannoli out to my truck, turned on some music, chilled out and enjoyed my treat. Sometimes I enjoy my truck more than sitting in a restaurant. I never met the owner nor experienced the service. In my opinion the restaurant could use some interior refreshing.

They do not pride themselves on hospitality, it's more like hostility and indifference. Originally made the point that life is too short to suffer at a place like this, given the wide variety of Italian restaurants in the area with better food, prices, service and most importantly, owners that genuinely treat customers fairly, even (and especially) when the establishment is clearly in the wrong. Read through all the reviews and see the common theme throughout many people's experiences with the same shock at the unregulated anger the owner directs toward a customer that expresses when the slightest problem with food quality, slow service, or overcharging. There was absolutely nothing personal about the original review, and nothing fake - good money was wasted on mediocre food and terrible service on too many occasions with an angry owner, and the review was just an honest assessment of a string of horrible experiences. That's how reviews work - they relate the good as well as the bad elements of an establishment and share these honest reactions with the community. What's truly disheartening is to see the owners attempting to pontificate after the fact that the review is somehow fabricated because they can't accept the reality that they're being called out (as they should be) for mistreating customers disrespectfully in a regular basis. I would never try to speak up in the moment at this place, as we've witnessed the owner literally berating customers and ruining an evening out for even mildly complaining on more occasions than I'd like to remember. At this place, their motto is "the customer is always wrong." It truly took a lot to have to write the original review and now to follow up to the owner's response, because they're anything but receptive to customer feedback. It's truly incredulous that the owner responded in this manner just because they want to promote their business. Smart diners will see through this. So take their advice if you dare, go ahead, make your own decision as they try to suggest, and work up the courage to try it out and ignore this and every other negative review ... but brace yourself, and as it's said, "buyer beware!" Just don't say you haven't been warned.
