Anthony's Pizza has just revamped and renewed their menu and the restaurant. Before it was dark and drab, now it is much more open and light inside! This is a cozy little place on the end of a plaza near the Altamonte Mall, directly next to Jason's Deli. They are open form aam-9pm every day and they have a yummy lunch special from 11-5 pm. They are generous with the portions and the food was excellent! I got the Anthony's Speciale pizza, with a small Caesar Salad and a drink for just $10! They do all of their pizzas not by the slice, but are 8' personal pizzas! That way you get a whole pizza to yourself! The toppings are fresh and of the best quality, even the pepperoni and cheese comes from Italy!! The service was quick and efficient. My friend started with the Minestrone soup, which I had a sample of. And wow that was one of the best Minestrone I have ever had!! Coming in for a food review, we were excited to try Anthony's as it was a recommendation from a coworker and they are self proclaimed as, "The Best Pizza Since you Left New York!" We came in for slices, and got a margherita and pepperoni. Upon biting into the margherita, it was completely undercooked on the inside. This had to be one of the dryest and most unsatisfying slices I had in a while. The pepperoni slice was also undercooked inside, but lacked flavor as well. Thought we'd try a new place that's nearby. We ordered from Anthony's for delivery through the Slice app. We ordered a Chicken Parm Hero, garlic knots, and a calzone. They completely left out the calzone and only delivered the Chicken Parm hero and the garlic knots. The hero was rubbery and tasted like it was two days old and the knots were tough like badly made bagels. Who knows what that calzone would have been like! Support for the Slice app wasn't helpful at all. They couldn't get the missing food delivered and I don't have confidence that I'll ever get a refund for the missing item. This cutesy, little pizza restaurant is nestled right in between the mall and Whole Foods Market in Uptown Altamonte. My friends and I typically come here for dinner-and-movie night. It's a much cheaper way to see a movie on a full stomach and not waste money on overpriced snacks. And we love it here. The atmosphere is red-bricked and looks like your typical Italian restaurant with all the historic pictures and paintings scattered around the walls. But the pizzas here are tasty and can be ordered by-the-slice or as a pie. And who doesn't love a nice side salad or cup of soup? All of them, which I've had in the past here, are also very good. The staff is always friendly to us and then there's the AMC Theater just over by the mall or the local dollar theater across the street. The only thing is that it can be hard to find. Sooooooo.... I've never done this before but I moved my review rating from a 5 to a 1. I ordered a Anthony's N.Y style pizza and a Stromboli. The pizza was requested with tomatoes and basil and it arrived as a white pizza. On top of that half the pizza was sloshed to the side of the box - pic attached- and well under cooked. I called them to complain and they said their margarita style pizzas are white - well I didn't ask for a white, oily sloshed pizza. Asked for a Manager- no Manager is on duty! Friday night and no manager? I asked for a refund - sorry - call grub-hub as it's not our problem. I then said I would never eat here again and the response was - ok. Sorry to hear that. Anything else I can help with? I'm stunned!!! On top of that the Stromboli which was a veggie was 90% cheese with 10% veggies and horrible. STAY FAR AWAY!!!!!! Didn't want to head out for dinner on a Monday and the family was out of town. My normal place was closed and I always heard of Anthony's so I gave it a try via GrubHub which was a first as well. We stop by and we saw all the different pizzas that they had on display. The Pete's of the day was a pesto chicken pizza. So they heated up our pizza slices and we took off to our next destination. We took a few minutes to eat our pizza, I must say it was absolutely delicious. I've been coming here for a slice for a few months now and I'm really never disappointed. I find myself craving their pizza over anyone else's and when I do have pizza from somewhere else, it just doesn't measure up. Their pepperoni is thick cut and along with the perfect crunch crust, I could eat here every day. The staff is wonderful and always accommodating, even when I come in with 5 teenage boys who managed to spill a glass of water 3 times in one visit. ‍ But we never once have we felt put off by them and always feel welcome, even when we walked in 30 mins before closing. I've ordered and ate here more times than I can count throughout my life and always am beyond satisfied. I placed an order tonight through DoorDash like I've done many nights for two Baked Ziti's with pink sauce and two Italian Wedding Soups (like I've ordered many times). They arrived and do not have cheese like it normally does with their Baked Ziti and have a sauce so spicy I couldn't eat it despite it not having cheese. I got a refund from DoorDash and went to place an order again but called first just to verify. They said the pink sauce is vodka sauce and isn't normally spicy and that they can't control the meals as well when using a delivery service because they're not quite sure what the customer's want. She informed me to order it and notate I want Marinara and Alfredo mixed together. Then told me that it was probably a different Anthony's I ordered from which is not at all correct (especially if they knew of the order I was referencing). I replaced the order as she instructed (this time with salads) and wrote that I will accept up charges. They called back to tell me that the cook said they can't in fact make it that way and that previously. I said okay but wanted to verify that at least the cheese would be added. She said yes and that it was previously the notion of pink sauce that had them confused and mixed up. The cook is in the background of the phone call making rude comments about the pink sauce and that we should just order marinara. I said okay that's fine and noted that I can hear the cook in the background. She dismissed me and repeated the order back except said Italian Wedding Soup instead of salads. I corrected her and said the soup was from a previous order but this one would be salads. She then told me that I probably ordered from the wrong Anthony's (which how she knew my previous order if I called the wrong one I will never understand) and when I (again) explained that I hadn't, she hung up on me. Needless to say I'm extremely disappointed in not only the food but the customer service as well. I've never had an issue in either and am hoping this is evening was a fluke so I can return happily. I've dined not only at the Altamonte location for many years but grew up eating at the location in Casselberry. I understand customers make mistakes and will absolutely own that if that was the case, but in this case I had not and am astonished at the way I was treated and made to seem like I made things difficult. Not to mention the two times I was told that I wasn't calling the right place I ordered from.
