After seeing a movie nearby, pizza sounded like the perfect way to end the night. I'd heard about Lazy Moon's oversized slices for a while, so since I was already in the area, I decided to stop in and see what they were all about. I ordered a pepperoni and mushroom slice. When I walked in, there wasn't anyone at the counter, so I waited about 3 to 5 minutes before someone came up to take my order. Once I ordered, my pizza was ready in about 10 minutes. The first thing you'll notice is the size. The slice is huge and definitely lives up to its reputation. Unfortunately, the taste didn't do the same. The mushrooms weren't cooked enough for my liking, there wasn't much cheese, and the pizza just felt like it had been put together in a hurry. The crust was also pretty bland and didn't add much flavor to the overall slice. I visited about an hour before closing, so it's possible that played a part, but since this was my first experience, it wasn't the best first impression. A whole pizza is quite a bit more expensive than buying a slice, so based on this visit, I don't think I'd be willing to take that chance. They have excellent dairy-free and vegan options, which is a huge win since it's usually so hard to find a quality DF pizza. Even though I'm not vegan, I love getting the Uptown Slice (vegan BBQ chicken). It's great being able to build my own slice exactly how I want it while staying dairy-free. I've never been to Lazy Moon, despite all the rave Yelp reviews, but Holy moly - this place on a Saturday night at 7 was a ZOO! Never mind that you can't find parking: you won't find a place to sit inside either! The reason I was there was for an InKind promo, and I almost regreted it when I walked in. It took a minute to get my bearing, and the staff were attentive and helpful. We had contemplated getting a whole pie, but settled for two slices to go. The slices were HUGE. After tasting them, I'd say they are not your typical pizza, and maybe not in the best sense. Call me old fashioned, but I don't think the BBQ or the Birria suits the pizza concept all that well. I'd rather have the more traditional approach, with lots of tangy tomato sauce and gooey cheese. Perhaps we'll have to try other varieties to be able to tell how good they are. read more

We were so excited when the Maitland location opened since it's way more convenient than driving to the downtown one. The pizza is always on point. I think this was the best slice I've had in a while, I could taste the freshness and there was a good amount of sauce and toppings. I like to dip it in ranch!! The pizza slices here are massive FYI if you haven't been before, you only need 1. Prices start at about $7 and go to 12-14$ for the loaded specialty slices. They do have some good lunch combos you can get a side salad. Sometimes I will get a basic cheese with a side salad and it's filling. Their Caesar salad is super yummy. Big slices, big value, decent pizza The main draw of Lazy Moon is their absolutely huge slices- one slice is 1.5-2 regular slices. It is a nice and easy dinner for groups. It's spacious with lots of tables and not too loud- even if it is perpetually crowded. Staff is super friendly and quick. I've now enjoyed pizza at all three current locations and at the original location that was razed and replaced by UCF student housing. History aside, the Maitland location is the best in my opinion. What stands out? The pizza still is loaded with toppings and tastes great! The uniquely characteristic honey for the crust (bones) is dispensed in little cups (in place of the honey bear dispensers on the tables). The space is bright -inside and outside, full of energy, and the best customer service. All the employees look happy to be working here! Soda and adult beverages are available. Never met a Lazy Moon I didn't like. Finally got to stop in here after seeing it open for a few months, and the crab rangoon pizza special truly was the best slice I've ever had from them. This location is a little brighter than the Colonial location which used to be my go-to. The menu itself is a straightforward one. You can build your own pizza, choose from the Lazy Favs, and calzone, a salad, or soups. Aside from the food they offer alcohol from the Booze Bible, which is a great name for the menu lol. Broken down to cocktails, wine, beer (draft, bottle, cans), cider and seltzer. My wife decided to create her own pizza (Tomato sauce, Mozzarella, Bacon crumbles Sauté mushroom, blue cheese crumbles) She loved this pizza a lot. Her words were the freshness of the mozzarella and tomato sauce, the earthiness of the mushrooms, the crunchiness of the bacon, the tang of the blue cheese... all made the perfect bite. 10 stars. She also ordered some drinks from the bar. Riesling, (Fitz de Katz: Semi-sweet, aromatic apple, peach and pear notes) She loved this Riesling a lot and wants to buy a bottle for the house asap. For her second drink she ordered the Mojito (Flor de Caña Rum, mint, lime, simple syrup) She also thought this was delicious. She could've gone for a bigger glass. I chose to create my own: (tomato sauce, Asiago Cheese, double sausage crumbs, green bell peppers, red onion, basil) LOVED this pizza slice. The sausage was flavorful, the freshness of each ingredient was on point. I have been going to Lazy Moon for somewhere around twenty years. The original location is long gone now. It used to be in a shopping plaza (that was long since demolished) located right across from the University of Central Florida (UCF). We would hang out at this place called the Liquid Cellar and after they would close at three o'clock in the morning, we would stroll a few doors down to Lazy Moon and grab some of their huge pizza slices. Lazy Moon now has grown to a few locations around the Orlando, Florida area and they still have a location close to the University of Central Florida (UCF). Anyway, this particular location in Maitland, Florida is a stand-alone building in a shopping plaza. With it being in a shopping plaza, parking is not really an issue. The staff at this location was great. I ordered my pizza and it came out in a pretty quick amount of time. The pizza is huge and pretty tasty. Not only will one slice fill you up, it is a pretty cool experience that will have you going wow at the size of the slice of their pizza. We have never been too lazy moon, so I was super excited to try this place for dinner one night, with my husband and some friends. Most of the tables were the high-top tables. It was very plain but in a great way. I really did love the giant painting on the wall. I really also thought, every single employee we came in contact with was absolutely a gem. They were so nice, so friendly, asked if they could clear items for us and even brought us to-go boxes. I decided to create my own, I wasn't too sure how many toppings you could add so I just added bacon, sautéed mushrooms and blue cheese crumbles with a side of ranch. I also ordered a mojito. My husband created his own as well with sausage, onions and peppers. And our friend ordered the buffalo chicken. All three of us absolutely loved our pizza. They were so large and cooked to perfection. I loved my combination and would order this again. Our other friends ordered a create your own and a birria calzone. Both also really loved them. We ordered a few drinks as well, since it was there, they had an actual bar and some really good drinks. We all ordered a variety including wine, old fashioneds and mojitos. All the drinks were so good, their price was pretty reasonable as well. We also ordered the garlic cheese bread with marinara. These were so yummy, garlicky and cheesy and really good. I am glad that I was able to try the new Lazy Moon this past weekend. Although it is a free standing location, it is located in the front of a plaza. I went early around 11:30am as I knew it was likely to get busy. There is a large bar with high tops and only a few booths, so I would highly recommend getting there early if you can. Pizza slices were great as always, my only complaint is how many asterisk toppings are on the menu meaning that you would have to pay extra for them. I used to love getting marinated mushrooms or sautéed onions, for example, but now they are an 89c up charge each. A must visit if you are a Lazy Moon fan! read more

My go-to is The Buff Slice, which has tomato sauce, buffalo chicken, blue cheese crumbles, buffalo sauce, baked ranch, and mozzarella. My husband ordered Jason's Mom, which has tomato sauce, chicken, sauteed mushrooms, caramelized onions, tomatoes, baked ranch, Jason's mom's sauce, and mozzarella. Those are part of their Lazy Faves; you can also create your own. The crust is thin with a crispy crust. I don't know how they make the dough thin, but strong enough to hold all the toppings. They also have calzones, salads, and soups. The tomato bisque is delicious and a must-try. Your pizza can be a slice, 20-inches or 30-inches! It is huge!
