I popped into Gino's Italian Restaurant for a glass of wine, and a glass of wine only. While their menu did appear to have some pretty decent options, I did not order any food because I was simply there to pass the time as I awaited my appointment at a neighboring salon. So, sadly, I cannot speak to the food, and for now, my rating will remain squarely in the middle until I have the opportunity to try their food options. With that said, my rating is also in the middle because the service was SLOW, SLOW, SLOW. While it was dinnertime, the restaurant itself was not super packed. I opted to sit at the bar and sat there for about 10 mins before anyone serviced me. Had I known it would have been that slow, I'd have gone to the restaurant next door. Again, I just wanted a beverage as I waited for my time to pass for my hair appointment at the salon in the same shopping plaza. By the time I got my house glass of pinot grigio, it was time to pay my tab and go to my appointment. So, much of the time was eaten up in simply waiting for a bartender to service me; I was a little put off. In fact, they did not find anyone to service the bar area until it was about three of sitting there. Anyways, despite that, the staff was actually very kind. They did apologize for the wait, but you know what they say about first impressions. While I won't be letting this deter me from actually giving them a proper try, I will keep this first experience in the back of my head. Despite this, the venue is spacious. They have ample indoor and outdoor seating. The bar seating is limited, but they have enough. The environment seemed lively and very family-friendly. Also, pricing is GREAT! Their entire menu is very reasonable - so that is a plus! It is located in a shopping plaza, so there is more than enough parking. My black partner and I went into this restaurant and asked to use their phone in an emergency because we had one phone and it was out of power. They would not let us use the phone. The blonde waitress came back after asking management with a smile on her face and said "No." I then asked management directly to use the phone and they he said no. So we decided to leave (we made no fuss about it and said nothing), then management proceeded to open the front door and pop his head out so he could then stare and eyeball us, as if we had done something wrong (when clearly we did not). You can take from this what you will. But I would never ever eat at this restaurant unless you want to be treated in this manner. What restaurant doesn't allow someone to use their phone in an emergency, then follows them outside to stare at them? All of these actions were definitely done because of a bias towards my partner. We were out one Saturday and saw this spot and decided to pick up a few slices of pizza. I'm super picky when it comes to pizza so I was skeptical. We sat down and there were plenty of other families there eating so I knew this was a popular local. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and made my food choice an easy one. I got the Gino's special which contained a perfect mix of veggies and meats. My daughter got the VIP stuffed slice which is an enclosed in pizza slice with meats and veggies inside. The atmosphere at Gino's is so warm and inviting. From the moment we walked in, we were immediately greeted and sat. The staff is so friendly and the service was amazing. We started off with the Garlic Bread With Cheese, which was so yummy and cheesy. For my main I got the Eggplant Parm, which was a huge portion with perfectly crispy eggplant. So I called BBB filed a complaint, they never responded so now they have a mark on them for not responding as well. The pizza we had was so greasy it went in trash. We met some friends visiting from out of town last week on a Monday evening and had a party of 7. We were seated quickly, our server (I am so sorry, I can't remember his name) was super friendly and did a great job taking care of everyone! The kitchen also did a great job accommodating for one person with some significant allergies. I had the Tuscan Pasta special and it was amazing! Gino's is located in Oviedo in a shopping venter along Alafaya, parking is plenty in the area. I had walked over her from a neighboring tire shop to grab a bite for lunch while waiting. It was a weekend early lunchtime and I was seated right away. I ordered a special they had on the board as I walked up. It was a shrimp & Penne dish and also receive a soup. The waitress was friendly and provided her recommendations when I asked. THe meal came in a reasonable time and it was pretty tasty. The dish was sizable and was more than i could consume in a sitting, so I boxed it up and took some home. Because I arrived early for lunch the restaurant was not busy and the atmospheres was pretty quite. I can image during a busy hour that would be different given the space. This was a good meal and I would definitely try Ginos again in the future. read more

Either way Not a deal breaker. I opted for Gino's "Famous" Stromboli (HALF!) with pepperoni and added ricotta and my husband got the Creamy Shrimp Pasta special with fettuccine noodles. We were both really impressed with our selections. The marinara sauce served with the Stromboli was perfect!! Not too tomato-y and not too sweet either. Oh and I must add the crispy-ness of the crust for the Stromboli against the creamy mozzarella and ricotta was everything I hoped for. I should add I ordered the "half portion" which was more than enough for 1 person - I actually could only finish half of the "half"!! Moving on, My husbands pasta was so flavorful! The pasta was a white Alfredo-like base and had bacon and created this wonderful creamy, salty sauce for the pasta. It was really an excellent value. It came with a side salad (or soup if that's more your speed) and warm, fresh French bread. The French bread was really a wonderful starter and wildly different from like garlic knots or bread that often served at similar establishments. They do have those on the menu but we had not tried them out. Our server, Stone, was excellent and knowledge. Overall very pleased with our experience and the value. So I'm torn because I loved this place before they expanded and then they went downhill. We have had this pizza at our parties for years and always got compliments then came the renovations and expansion. While I love the new space and outdoor seating and dog friendliness we had a less than Stellar dining experience the one time we chose to eat there but chalked it up to an off day. We had good service but the food was just meh. We have ordered takeout since then but have not returned to dine there. Today we went and while I wasn't very hungry it was nice to sit outside. The waitress was great and the gelato was yummy and the beer special was a nice surprise. Our service was amazing we have a really great waitress her name was Karen and she was on point the entire night, every time we asked for something she would be back in seconds with our request so she gets a 10 out of 10 in my book. So I've been going here for several years and have always loved it. The last few times we've visited, we've had some issues with no servers being assigned to our table. Hence, we sit for a long time until I say something. We stopped going about 6 months ago because of that and because of the no refills thing. Apparently they are not charging for refills anymore, so I'm going to try it one more time tonight! I really want to continue to love this place, so we'll see! They now allow refills yay! It wasn't bad but it wasn't anything impressive. I did like the amount of cheese and sauce. They didn't skimp. The garlic knots were meh. They looked beautifully perfect. I couldn't wait to take a bite but after I did, it was a huge disappointment. The garlic tasted like raw garlic. The knot itself tasted like day old bread. Maybe they make a bunch in the morning and use as the day go on? It just tasted stale. The salad was pretty good. Skip the salami. It had a weird taste like it had been sitting out too long. I found this restaurants on Uber eats and am really glad I did! I bought the Alfredo with shrimp and a spaghetti and meatballs pasta along with an order of the calamari. The alfredo was really great, super decadent, and was gobbled up right away. The spaghetti and meatballs was also nice and tasty, although nothing to the level of the alfredo. The calamari tasted extremely fresh and I'd definitely order it again! Portions were reasonable (and honestly pretty large) for the price. The shrimp does have quite the up charge, but the it brought the dish together for me. My delivery was delayed, but that was uber's fault. We have been ordering pizza takeout from Gino's for many years but tonight we decided to dine in for the first time (actually , outside) and had a delicious, relaxing dinner. Our server Jade was point on from start to finish. We started with the caprice flatbread. It was so flavorful and could have easily been my meal (next time!). My wife told me about Gino's after her work had been delivered food from Gino's. The opportunity arose to take the family and off we went. Thankfully, we were well aware of the construction happening and knew where it was, where to park and how to get there. If you happen to go during construction, you need to park on the Publix side of the shopping center and then walk through the strip mall to get there. It is well worth it! Inside there were a few 6 top tables and then the rest are 4 tops. Our server was really great. The kids meals are a bit pricey ($8.50 for 2 chicken tenders and spaghetti) but the kids loved them (one also ordered stuffed shells). My wife and I ordered two slices each. She got the Gino's slice and white pizza. I got a slice of the white and a slice of the stuffed pizza. All the slices were really good and were very reminiscent of eating pizza from NYC. We will definitely be coming back here to eat. read more
