Im pretty sure I have been to every Anthonys around the Seattle surrrounding area. Dont get me wrong I love Anthonys as a whole! This location however has the youngest staff I have seen yet. I am all for supporting our local students. When I want to have a date night I want a hostess and a server that actually care about me and a little less about texting on their cell phones. I will continue to go to Anthonys Restaurants unfortunately I will have to cross the bridge to do so. read more

A favorite happy hour meeting place for my sister and I, with me in Puyallup and her in Bremerton. The service, food and beverages are always fabulous. Our new favorite is the calamari Caesar salad - generous portions and the calamari is so tender and fresh. Can't ever go wrong with the Dungeness Crab dip. And the house wines are really decent quality at a great price. Oh, and the view of the harbor from every seat in the bar is incredible. Highly recommend!! read more

My husband and I visited anthony's bar in gig harbor last night, and we were so disappointed with the lack of service. We had been sitting for over ten minutes, without being acknowledged. I finally walked up to the bar (there was plenty of staff), and asked if we were going to get service. A server named Dane reluctantly said he'd be over in a minute. Our food was good, however, with the lack of service, we are reluctant to keep anthonys on our list for date night. read more

A friend and I found this gem of a restaurant on a rainy, stormy afternoon. We sat at a cozy window table with a beautiful view of the storm and bay. Our server, Ted, was fun and attentive without being obtrusive. We split a few appetizers, everything was fresh and delicious. My friend tasted a few Washington state wines before settling on something she plans to add to her home collection...and she's a wine connoisseur from the Napa Valley. Then I don't know how Ted arranged it, but a bald eagle slowly flew by. What more can I say? read more

I like Anthony's - even though I am generally not a fan of chains at all, this is one we are familiar with from way back. The choices in the harbor are limited and Anthony;s has never failed, faltered a bit though. We've been going for years and it's the best in town for a 'date night' or special lunch, family - whatever. The view is awesome, the season arranges different spectacles to view - - fall leaves on the hillsides are breathtaking. Mt Rainier is incredible, but even on a grey day it's good to soak up the surroundings and watch life in Gig Harbor. The greetings are friendly and on a Sunday afternoon they were not packed, less than a third full. The menu changes a little from time to time, always interesting, without being weird and the prices are comparable to any fine dining establishment. Up to now my only gripe was once the rice was really over cooked - otherwise it's been great. However, upon our last visit there were four people tending to our table and it was a little odd. One brings this - another brings something else, somebody else takes your order and so on - I am not a fan of this practice anywhere. The food was fine, though it took a rather ridiculous amount of time considering our order. We both had a grilled salmon salad with fruits and nuts - very good, but the salmon was borderline not done and I had to leave the center portion . No bread apparently if you order salad as your entree' - hmm. Staff milled about a lot and it was just a little odd this visit. UPDATE: last visit we were with the same server throughout the meal. Again though even if it's half empty things are very slow and somewhat absent minded. The rockfish was tasty, but very greasy - time to move on. So it seems to me this is another slip in the quality around here and I really am saddened by that. If the economy is in the tank why can't places step up and make sure we are getting our money's worth and treated better? Is it that hard to find qualified help? I don't think so!! I still like the place and will stick to going once every few months or so for a while, but I do hope it gets back to 'the way it was' with efficiency and friendliness as great sauce to good food. Seated with reservations at 6:30 pm, waiter was forgetful after asking for another basket of bread and more butter, he continued to forget the butter until the third reminder. Water glasses never refilled. Two ordered the steak and Dungeness crab. The crab was a small dab of crab mush on top of the steak which was tough. The baked potato was good, except it was served slightly warm, nearly room temperature. The steak and lobster ordered by two others at our table was another Ho-hum meal. Steak was also tough, like it was precooked earlier that day. The lobster was small, overcooked and dry-not freshly prepared. The side salads were small and drenched in blue cheese dressing. Probably will never eat at Anthony's again. $180.00 for a disappointing dinner. This was our worst dining experience at Anthony's. read more

I thought the side of tortilla chips with the tacos was a pretty cheap side (perhaps a Caribbean rice?, but we'll go back. I recently set up a special dinner for me and my girlfriend. I asked them to take our orders in advance as a way to make the evening more special. I know she loves scallops, so I ordered for her. She was unaware of what I had planned, including champagne and red roses. No menus, no annoying suggestions of appetizers. Having had bad experiences in the past with other restaurants, I expected them to make an error at some point, not communicating to a server or similar. What we experienced was perfect. Food delivered at just the right time, hot, and well presented. I used to be a professional chef and was a bit surprised that tempura battered shrimp was provided with the steak and shrimp dinner (it was tasty and well presented though). But other than that, I can't think of anything where it wasn't a perfect evening. Bravo! read more

My wife and I ate there last night. The view of the harbor, as always, cannot be beat. The meal -- steak for my wife and steak with prawns for me -- was excellent. Had dinner last night, can't say I was impressed. We had a group of 10 and they stuck us in a back corner by the kithchen doors, we asked to move but they said it wasnt possible, i was surprised, considering they were not busy and had many open tables. I ordrered the scallops, the taste was fine but, the rice pilaf and scallops were cold and the green beans were greasy. The service was very slow and didnt get much attention. I would not recommend Anthony's in Gig Harbor, I was disappointed, Unfortunately it wasnt worth the price either. read more

We have always enjoyed Anthony's. Wonderful food, great drinks and dessert and you can't beat the view of the whole harbor and the mountain. Today we had a little problem with our server towards the end, but all was very well rectified before we left. I mention this because sometimes shopping or dining experiences have a hiccup but it should be noted when the employees and manager on duty sincerely try to rectify the situation and make sure that you know your satisfaction and business are appreciated. read more

Been to several Anthony's locations and had wonderful experiences. However, we went to this one twice and although service was good they consistently served the entrees with literally cold or lukewarm sides, i.e. potato or vegetable. Fish is hot but nothing else. Turned us off the whole meal considering the entree prices. Seems they have an ongoing issue with the kitchen line staff who should be making sure the entire meal is hot before leaving the kitchen and presenting it to customers. Last time our sever got huffy when we very politely asked for our meal to be sent back and made hot. We want to love this location with its amazing view since we moved here, but if the food can't be served hot, why go with other seafood places around to choose from. read more

As part of a chain of restaurants, this Anthony's has both the strengths as well as the weaknesses of the chain. The good is that the quality of the fish is always high, dependably so. The preparation is always the same: no unpleasant surprises. The not-so-good is that the quality is never spectacular. What keeps Anthony's from serving you a bad salmon dinner prevents it from serving you a salmon you'll never forget. The food is definitely on the high side of caloric intake, which doesn't seem to be a problem for its clientele judging by their wastelines and the size of the desserts being ordered. Butter is the most prominent flavor in many of Anthony's dishes, and I sometimes think that the American habit of eating awful-tasting margarine makes real butter taste so amazing. Perhaps people don't realize what it is that they are eating. In my opinion, the prices are too high for the quality of the food. Note: avoid Anthony's on high school prom nights, etc. The place is packed with nervous teenagers uncomfortable in their evening wear. Summary: Anthony's Gig Harbor is a dependably good, if not excellent, seafood restaurant, with higher prices than value. read more

I've eaten here a few times now and won't go back again, primarily because of the food. The service was very good, as were the atmosphere and view, but I've had better food at many other places for less than half the price. Most items tasted like reheated leftovers with minimal flavor. My expectations are much higher for $27+ entrees. I have been to two other Anthony's and enjoyed the food very much. Very disappointing for Father's day and my son's birthday. read more

Disappointed again at this Anthony's! We're big fans of the chain, but are not likely to return to Gig Harbor's restaurant anytime soon. It seems that the hostess seats older couples next to the bus station, even when the place is nearly empty. We were offered that booth again yesterday and just refused to sit there. She brought in some younger guests, and oh yes, they were seated in the main section next to the windows. Next older couple to arrive, you guessed it - they get the booth next to the bus station. The food wasn't anything to cheer about, and for a $50 lunch for two, there are so many better choices. read more
