Update to review- The place has improved in every area. We were there during a busy weekend but luckily it was not crowded at the time. Greeted by Ben who seated us outside, Beautiful view of the lake. The restaurant is clean and spacious. We opted for the deck and were able to take our dog guest. Service friendly and attentive. Ordered some drinks and dinner. Burger, French Dip, Pizza and two salads;Caesar and Wedge. Took an ice cream sundae to go. The food was tasty and reasonable in price . Came out quickly. The food here is good and is a great deal for the portion you get, too! We just got appetizers but the tots are crispy and well seasoned and the ranch is a 10/10. Pretzel bites were the underdog here but I'm certainly impressed. The drinks are strong but I have no problem with that ;) (to be fair I ordered a double lol). The service was excellent and everyone was so welcoming and friendly. The view from the deck cannot be beat - right next to the lake and I honestly could sit here for hours. read more

Sunday at noon. We arrive and almost all the tables are empty and we are told there is 1/2 hour wait. The outdoor seating on the deck is closed. Once seated our order came in a reasonable amount of time. My husbands club sandwich and fries were OK. My ruben sandwich was burnt and dried out and had a really bad taste, awful! I paid extra for onion rings and they were obviously burnt to a crisp. I mentioned it to the waitress when she delivered and she said they were not supposed to be burnt and walked off? She comped the onion rings and charged me $16. for the Ruben that was barely touched. read more

Service was way too slow, considering our table and one other was in the restaurant. Our server did not follow up with us for drinks during our extended weight for our food (missed sales opportunity) and at one point after our meal we went to the bar (who only had two people) to order drinks. Visit #1: Seated on the patio and ignored for 40 minutes. A server who passed us by numerous times suddenly said, "Have you been served?". When we said no, she apologized, said it was someone else"s section, but she would take care of us. Shrimp tacos and fish and chips were quite good. Visit #2: We ordered a thin crust pizza with pepperoni, mushroom, and sausage. They left the mushrooms off the pizza and the crust was weirdly chewy. The clam chowder was better than most. Visit #3: We made reservations as it was Irish Music night. The music was excellent. Orders were placed and our friends at our table got their dinners about 40 minutes prior to ours. Each time we asked our server about ours, he said he keeps asking the kitchen... Visit #4: Ordered a smash burger, bleu burger, and clam chowder. Everything tasted great. Service was a bit slow, but understandable as there was only one server on lunch duty. Visit #5: Ordered a pizza to go and was told 20 minutes. This time we decided to try regular crust, and go with the Riviera special, minus tomatoes and olives. Arrived in 20 minutes and it was another 20 minutes before the pizza came out. About a quarter of the pizza was missing sauce and cheese, raw onions were tossed onto about one fourth of the pizza, there was very little sausage and pepperoni, and it was missing, you guessed it, mushrooms. This is the one restaurant on the island that serves food and wine. The view across Lake Josephine is serene. The servers are nice. But they would be out of business if they were located on the other side of the ferry line. If you go here, know that it is a crapshoot. read more

I went to Anderson Island a few weeks ago. More specifically a walking tour. The island is mostly residential and there aren't very businesses or restaurants on the island. Lakeshore is one of the small handful of restaurants that I paid a visit to for a bite to eat. The restaurant is part of a country club and has a view over a fresh water lake that is very peaceful and beautiful! This view can be utilized throughout much of the restaurant as well as patio seating. The food here I really enjoyed! I got a Caesar Salad with strips of chicken which was very good! It was especially good after walking a ways and taking a break for a meal! The service is good. Very friendly and eager to please. While there is no incorporated town on Anderson Island the patrons that were here portrayed a small town charm which was refreshing. I'm also told this characteristic is a part of island life. Regardless what instance it was it was a warm and welcoming place I'd enjoy returning to. read more

Had a reservation here at 7pm for 10 girls for a bachelorette party, understanding that we are a larger group and they are a busy restaurant we were patient but it was overwhelmingly disappointing. Guests were brought wrong menu items repeatedly, overcooked dry chicken, and 3 of our guest didn't get their meal until everyone had finished eating and 20 minutes til closing, we ended up just cancelling the last meal we were waiting for. The staff was unapologetic and not phased by the inconveniences. We were brought checks with wrong orders, at the sake of just getting out of the restaurant we didn't correct the mistake and headed for the door. This being the only restaurant on the island I'm sure business will continue as usual but as a guest visiting Anderson island I wouldn't recommend or come again read more

We went for dinner on Sunday night. Once we walked into the front door there was a sign that says Please Wait to Be Seated.....which we did for about 10 minutes. We were greeted by a younger woman that motioned for us to come to her halfway across the restaurant. There were maybe at best 15 people inside the restaurant. We were seated outside. After waiting for 15 minutes the waitress came out and took our orders. We were a party of 4. After waiting for around 45 minutes 2 people in the party received there food. 22 minutes later the other 2 received there's. Keep in mind the order consisted of Nachos, Potato Skins, and a Hamburger. We had to ask for napkins and silverware, condiment's and beverages. The food was very overcooked and honestly I've had better. The service was absolutely hands down horrible. It's pretty sad that the management could obviously care less about the product it puts out and the staff that they seem to hire. I would NEVER visit this restaurant again. You would find better food and service out of a Food Truck on the side of the road. Food is 1000x better and so is the service as they genuinely care about the food and the service they are giving. We visited Anderson Island today, mostly to go on the ferry, but we figured we'd do dinner while on the island. Options were obviously limited, but we decided to try it out around 5 PM and were seated in a far corner pretty quickly. My boys each got chicken fingers and fries. We figured that, since we were legit on the water, we'd get seafood. My husband got the mahi-mahi fish tacos, and I got the Guinness fish and chips. Honestly both fish dishes were average at best. They looked great, butttt...The fish and chips were decent, and the tartar was good, but the fish was a bit chewy and lacked real flavor. The fish tacos were downright bad. The tortillas were stale, and the fish was chewy, poorly seasoned, and just didn't taste good. The boys' chicken fingers and fries were standard pub fare - good, not great. Our waitress didn't know what micro-brews were on tap, which was odd. My husband had to go ask the bar himself. And, for our whole table, it was over $60. Definitely not worth it to us. read more

Location, location, location!! Such a beautiful spot on little Anderson Island. If your in the market for a picturesque dining experience, Lakeshore is your place. With views for days, you could sit on their patio for hours. Unfortunately, an arrested audience is about all they have going for them. Service was snobby with a hint of annoyance, and the food matched that attitude. I was really looking forward to the fish and chips, but I received a soggy mess (fish and fries). When I thought it couldn't get worse, the fish tacos were an under-seasoned tasteless mess with runny, bland salsa. This might be the southwestern coming out of me, but I still don't think the PNW tastebuds deserve these tacos. I would rate the Lakeshore 2 stars based on food and service, but that view! Advice: if your going to Anderson Island for a day trip, pack a picnic. read more

I wasn't sure what to expect after reading the mixed reviews. We were on the island for 5 days and waited until our last night to try the restaurant. We sat by the lake and I found the restaurant and views to be beautiful but not pretentious (I wore a sweatshirt and got no flack). We ordered fish and chips and pot roast and everything was good, but not amazing, service was quick and very attentive. I thought the prices were really reasonable too. Wife and I came out to Anderson Island for a day exploration. Had never been here and rode the Steilacoom ferry. Tried to fly our kite and found a field on far side of island and got airborne for about 5 minutes. Drove some more and found Riviera Country Club and the Riviera Lakeshore Restaurant. Nice quiet setting and we beat the dinner rush. Ordered the Orange Ginger Salmon with black rice and assorted vegetables. Food was very nicely displayed and very delicious. Had a couple of beers (Mac N Jacks) which were great. For desert we each had the Pineapple Upside Down Cake and coffee. Desert was superb. Our waitress Sophia was great and we really enjoyed our dinner. read more

This is one of the only restaurants on Anderson Island and it was a beautiful night under the twinkling lights! We sat out on the patio and had an assortment from their menu! I especially loved the jumbo prawns and scallop appetizers. They were pretty good sized portions! My little girl had a wonderful kids meal of fish and chips (substituted for veggies). The location is unmatched. The outdoor seating is right on the lake, and spacious. Staff is kind and the food is very tasty. Only downfall is the service is relatively slow (once you get started it's good but it takes a while to get seated, menus, etc.) and the outdoor seats and tables don't get cleaned as much as desired. Food reviews: Cajun tater tots: 5/5 - definitely get these if you like tots! Lakeshore burger: 4/5 - patty is huge (1/2 lb) but it was slightly over cooked. Great toppings, bun could be better. Tacos: 5/5 for the fish taco, 3/5 for chicken taco, 2/5 for beef taco. Get the fish! The other ones weren't very flavorful (Chalula to the rescue!) Wednesday night is bingo night (starts at 5, but people come early to get seats around 4) which sounds like a popular and fun time to go. They told us it is $10 to play 10 boards. We come here every time we are on the island and it is always good! The beer battered fish and chips are delicious! It is the only place where you can get this style done right- anywhere in the US! (If you want dry, panko breaded, cod get the burger instead.) The burgers never disappoint. Have brought many guests here over years and everyone has loved it. This place is a hidden gem...I wish I would have taken a picture of the menu because it's not what you would expect from a smaller place like this. Some very higher end menu items and steaks are the norm here. I ordered the fish and chips and my son order the spicy bbq chicken pizza, which actually caught my attention also. This place is just so-so, mediocre at best. Menu hardly ever changes but the cooks seem like they do. Hit or miss cooking. Have had several instances of terrible take-out orders. Management? While the wait staff was kind, and food somewhat better than expected, the bartender and patrons of the bar were rude and not welcoming. We went in to watch a sounders game and while there are two tvs in the bar area, a patron (who prefers "higher end mustard") proclaimed that both tvs (10ft apart) needed to be on the football game bc multiple people are watching it from either side of the room. Had someone had a neck or possibly an eye injury maybe I would have understood this. At this point; preferably the bartender -aka the actual employee of the establishment- should step in and please the guests *customer service* but instead claimed the "cops" over there were also watching and there was nothing he could do. Perhaps ask the mustard guy (we have since named him clifford) to just slide down or perhaps look to the right, or maybe I don't know be kind? If Clifford is the owner I suggest he maybe stay home and not sit at the bar, if he is not, perhaps the bartender establishes some basic rules of customer service-ie please guests. Our plans were to stay there all day/evening to watch multiple games, but instead we decided to leave the island and spend our money elsewhere. Ps-they allegedly make their mustard to order. Sunday afternoon I decided to take my Wife and Daughter to Anderson Island to enjoy some relaxation and quality time together. After driving around the Island and checking out some of the sights we decided to check out the Lakeshore Restaurant. When we entered we were greeted and brought to a table of our choice with a frozen lake view, it was very nice and welcoming. The staff was very friendly and attended to our needs. Alex was our waiter and he was awesome, very personable and attentive and super on top of serving us. I ordered the Bacon and Blue cheese burger and my wife the fish and chips, both were really delicious. My only complaint, they were out of Pie, darn. :) thank you for the great food and hospitality. Well, the "Riv" is back to its old, underperforming ways. Hubby ordered "loaded" potato skins, which came as 6 1" wedges with cheese, onion tops and what appeared to be fake bacon bits, and an IPA. I ordered the teriyaki burger, substituting chicken for the burger, and the house white. The server shows up with the drinks first, of course; hubby's IPA and a glass of 'white' zinfandel, which is a dark rose'. I tell her I'm sorry, I wanted white. She looks completely confused but offers me a chardonnay, which I accept. It's completely undrinkable, and I'm not a wine snob -- I drink cheap pinot grigio at home. I ask for a lemon wedge to see if that will improve it, but it doesn't. It sits there untouched except for a sip or two though the entire meal and the server never approaches our table. When my entree arrives the tomato slices are half green so I put them aside. I assemble the sandwich, which is very thick, and try to take a bite, but because bottled teriyaki was just sloshed onto the bun instead of cooked into the piece of chicken, it's slippery; the entire contents of the sandwich squirt out the other side. I wind up giving up on the bun and just eating the innards with a knife & fork. While we ate I overheard the server offering a considerably different version of the chef's special to another table and the party a couple of tables from us complaining to the server that the 'chef's special' mahi mahi, for which they paid a pretty price, tasted like it had been frozen, and saw another woman frowningly offer her glass of white wine to her companion to sniff. Bet hers came from the same bottle as mine. There were two servers, a bus boy and a bartender serving perhaps 15 people, yet the ones who served us were slow and while pleasant enough, undertrained and uninterested. We sat for a while with our dishes pushed aside until our server came with the bill; she smiled but didn't speak. We were going to order dessert but she never offered it, so we just paid and left. The nice little pond view does not make up for the restaurant's complete disregard for standard care practices. While staying on Anderson Island, we had the opportunity to eat at this restaurant. With my expectations set low, I was pleasantly surprised. The food was better than expected, service was great, and the atmosphere was a throw back to a lost time. I ordered a hamburger and it was delicious. Everyone in our party commented on the food being excellent. It filled us up and no one left feeling hungry. Our waitress was a local girl and she made us feel welcomed to her part of the Northwest. After dinner, our party even played foosball and we did not feel rushed to leave the building. My family and I will be back to visit the next time we are in the area. read more

As far as the food by itself 1 Star. Tasteless food with ice cold A/C Final 2 Star! The entree in question is 'Bristol Chicken.' My Occupational Therapist says my urine has too much sodium and sugar, so I'm trying lower my blood pressure by cutting down on salt, but c'mon this blasted chicken had zero flavor! This is my first time here, but I seemed to have ordered the wrong dish.
