I could hardly finish lunch before starting this review. This has to be one of our new favorite restaurants. Service is excellent, and the food was amazing. I ordered a half size of beef nachos they were so good! My husband got their pizza and was very pleased. The views couldn't be more beautiful. The island is so peaceful; I highly recommend visiting on your next adventure day!

Wonderful outdoor seating at the restaurant!

I went to Anderson Island a few weeks ago. More specifically a walking tour. The island is mostly residential and there aren't very businesses or restaurants on the island. Lakeshore is one of the small handful of restaurants that I paid a visit to for a bite to eat. The restaurant is part of a country club and has a view over a fresh water lake that is very peaceful and beautiful! This view can be utilized throughout much of the restaurant as well as patio seating. The food here I really enjoyed! I got a Caesar Salad with strips of chicken which was very good! It was especially good after walking a ways and taking a break for a meal! The service is good. Very friendly and eager to please. While there is no incorporated town on Anderson Island the patrons that were here portrayed a small town charm which was refreshing. I'm also told this characteristic is a part of island life. Regardless what instance it was it was a warm and welcoming place I'd enjoy returning to.

We visited Anderson Island today, mostly to go on the ferry, but we figured we'd do dinner while on the island. Options were obviously limited, but we decided to try it out around 5 PM and were seated in a far corner pretty quickly. My boys each got chicken fingers and fries. We figured that, since we were legit on the water, we'd get seafood. My husband got the mahi-mahi fish tacos, and I got the Guinness fish and chips. Honestly both fish dishes were average at best. They looked great, butttt...The fish and chips were decent, and the tartar was good, but the fish was a bit chewy and lacked real flavor. The fish tacos were downright bad. The tortillas were stale, and the fish was chewy, poorly seasoned, and just didn't taste good. The boys' chicken fingers and fries were standard pub fare - good, not great. Our waitress didn't know what micro-brews were on tap, which was odd. My husband had to go ask the bar himself. And, for our whole table, it was over $60. Definitely not worth it to us.

I wasn't sure what to expect after reading the mixed reviews. We were on the island for 5 days and waited until our last night to try the restaurant. We sat by the lake and I found the restaurant and views to be beautiful but not pretentious (I wore a sweatshirt and got no flack). We ordered fish and chips and pot roast and everything was good, but not amazing, service was quick and very attentive. I thought the prices were really reasonable too. Would definitely return more often if we come to Anderson again.

Wife and I came out to Anderson Island for a day exploration. Had never been here and rode the Steilacoom ferry. Tried to fly our kite and found a field on far side of island and got airborne for about 5 minutes. Drove some more and found Riviera Country Club and the Riviera Lakeshore Restaurant. Nice quiet setting and we beat the dinner rush. Ordered the Orange Ginger Salmon with black rice and assorted vegetables. Food was very nicely displayed and very delicious. Had a couple of beers (Mac N Jacks) which were great. For desert we each had the Pineapple Upside Down Cake and coffee. Desert was superb. Our waitress Sophia was great and we really enjoyed our dinner.

The shrimp was good, through the seasoning was inconsistent despite my best efforts. I ordered the spiciest option, and the shrimp was the only part I got the spice from. Sometimes I'm there was no heat, other times it felt like it was trying to kill me. My biggest gripe with the food was the lack of potatoes. Why get stingy with potatoes? There were only 2 in the boil I got. It was a generous amount of food overall, but I feel like potatoes are the weirdest part to skimp out on. The restaurant looked nice and had good lighting. My biggest complaint overall was the choice of music. Objectively, it was not appropriate for a family joint. It was Kanye West, Childish Gambino, Tyler the Creator, and other similar artists. The songs were explicit, and there were many families with children in the restaurant. I can't rate it too low because all the food I tried was great, and I hope to come again in the future.

Pros: - Our server was very sweet and came off as genuine! - The cocktails were really good! - The ambiance was nice! Cons: - Service was very clumsy, overall. - We came in on an averagely busy night (nice weather, but on a Tuesday - lots of open tables). Right off the bat, the greeters were not focused. We asked for a table for a party of two, and we found ourselves waiting there with no communication from them that they were working on seating us - basically they went back to chatting with each other. I had to go back and ask a few minutes later if they were planning on seating us before we got an "oh yeah, sorry one sec". Meanwhile they were joking around with each other. I truly am all for having a good time at work, but it wasn't clear that they were focused on us. I'm willing to believe they were working on it, but at the end of the day we were left guessing. - Our food took a pretty long time to get out, again compared to the fact that it was relatively slow. - Not gonna lie, the food was mid. I think I have realistic standards, but this is a relatively high-budget menu so I was expecting a little more. I'll end by saying, I'm not a serial negative reviewer. I wouldn't have left this review if the bill wasn't as pricey as it was. I believe that people are good, but the processes behind this place were rough.

I couldn't remember the name of the place, but we found it: The Fish Peddler! We must have arrived at a perfect interval because there was a table for two that had just been bussed and ready for us near the large counter in the back where food was collected by servers and presented to hungry patrons at any of the 30-40 tables. Our server was genuinely warm and delightful and guided us to the menu and the on-line beer on tap information. Drinks were ordered and delivered in minutes - just enough time for us to announce our selections: A 3-piece halibut and chips for her, and for me, the albacore tuna with spring greens and gouda cheese on sourdough with a pint of I'm Not Afraid Of Music. It had the lowest alcohol content, and since I was driving, didn't want to push my luck. When our huge white dinner plates arrived - oh - did I mention the amazing jalapeño coleslaw? - we were amazed at the size of the perfectly deep fried halibut - which, on their own, provide a good bite, making only a smitten of tartar sauce necessary because you gotta have tartar sauce with fried fish, after all, right? I picked up one my sandwich haves and removed the toothpick with too much gusto and suffered a small splinter that I couldn't remove until I got home a couple of hours later with the help of a magnifying glass, a tweezer and some masking tape. But I ignored the splinter while I enjoyed my "this is NOT your mom's - or HER mom's - Tuna melt". The perfect balance of the albacore spread with the gouda showing up gloriously in almost every bite, the pillowy and cool greens and tomato slice that balanced the heat from the albacore between the two lightly toasted sourdough was my Valentine's Day gift to my mouth. We were stuffed, but not defeated - we ordered our cheesecake to go, and I get to have the last piece of halibut for a snack later on! It was great getting re-acquainted with This cozy, fun, busy restaurant since our last (and first) visit 3 years ago. My only regret is that for some unknown but surely inexcusable reason, I had waited three years before returning. Won't happen again.

This restaurant has been one of my favorite places for the past two years. I've celebrated birthdays and anniversaries here, and I've recommended it to countless friends and family because the food and service have always been excellent. Unfortunately, my visit today was very different. My friend and I came in for lunch, and our server, Amanda, was noticeably inattentive despite the restaurant being nearly empty. She took our drink menu before we had finished looking at it, and my friend had to get up and find her to ask for it back. Throughout the meal, it was difficult to get her attention. When our food arrived, I asked for the lemon I ordered because they forgot it which is not a big deal to me they usually forget my lemon when I visit. She quickly dropped it off and walked away before I could order drinks. We then had to ask a second time just to place our drink order. The bigger issue was the food. Both seafood boils were lacking flavor, and mine seemed unusually watery, as though excess water hadn't been drained before the seasoning and butter were added. Since two seafood boils cost well over $100, I politely asked if there was any way to add more seasoning. I was respectful and apologetic because I genuinely dislike complaining about food. Amanda interrupted me before I could finish explaining and told me they couldn't add seasoning, only provide a side of seasoned butter. That would have been fine, I simply wanted a solution, but being cut off and met with an eye roll felt extremely rude and unprofessional. She then suggested the watery consistency was caused by the extra corn I ordered. I order extra corn every time I visit and have never experienced this issue before. After that interaction, she largely avoided our table. When she eventually boxed our leftovers, she immediately dropped off the check and walked away again. Upon reviewing the bill, I noticed I had been charged for the side of seasoned butter that was provided as the solution to the flavor issue. When I asked about it, Amanda explained that I was charged because I had ordered an extra side of seasoned butter. However, I hadn't ordered it as an addition to my meal, it was offered as the fix for food that she herself acknowledged was watered down. When I expressed that I felt it was inappropriate to charge a customer for the remedy to a quality issue, she responded that she could ask a manager to remove the charge if I wanted. By that point, I was very frustrated that this was even a charge in the first place and offered to just pay and leave. She quickly walked away and just removed the charge without consulting the manager like she previously mentioned which I found to be odd. This is the first negative experience I've had here, which makes it especially disappointing. I've always loved this restaurant and have recommended it to many people over the years. Sadly, after today's food and service experience, I'll likely be looking elsewhere for future celebrations and gatherings with friends and family. I've included some photos of the many visits my friends and family have had here over the years for lunch, birthdays, anniversary celebrations, etc. Please work on your customer service.
