Mac & Cheese and 5 oz. Lobster Tail
    Sloan M.

Parking was accommodating, ambiance felt expensive but the food was the worst. My husband and I went expecting to spend some money on a nice evening out, but it turned into one of the most memorable evenings for food we will never return for. Calamari: rubbery, way too crispy and we literally pulled rubber bands out of our mouths. This was cooked terribly and not worth its price! Entree: Lobster risotto: absolutely nasty. Since when has risotto supposed to have a cheese pull! I read another comment describing it perfectly with a one star review and their quality hasn't gone up since that review! Not to mention the owner left a comment saying they will fix it. Unfortunate. I got two sides since I didn't want a full meal. Mac and cheese: somehow they managed to take out all flavor. All I ate was a mouth full of "pretty" bread crumbs and oil. No salt, no pepper, no effort. How can you seriously mess up Mac and cheese. Trying WAY too hard to be fancy and it sucks. 5oz Lobster Tail: we went literally for the lobster. For a place named Lobster shop we were very excited, but again, we were disappointed. Lobster was chewy and had no flavor. The only part that saved it was DUNKING it in the lobster sauce so I wouldn't have to taste the lobster itself. If you're looking for GOOD Quality Lobster, the Cliff House in browns point was dramatically better. Matched the price with the quality. No one in that kitchen can season or cook. Please save your wallet and your stomach a waste of time. You can't make people pay loads of money for terrible food.

This remains my go to happy hour spot. If you love oysters as much as I do, it will likely become yours as well. They offer fresh selections of oysters each day at happy hour prices from 3-6pm. The lobster roll is the most buttery and fulfilling shot of natural flavor I've ever gotten from a lobster roll. My son downed three of these!! Another fave is mine is the calamari. I love the beautiful plating and substantial size of the calamari. They are always perfectly crisp and fresh. Lastly, but equally tasty are the sweet and spicy shrimp. I love that they are breaded and saucy, not soggy! To top off the enjoyment your taste buds are going to delight in, you'll especially enjoy the friendly demeanor of the servers here. They offer tons of smiles, great conversation, humor and suggestions during your dining experience.

Beautiful restaurant with ample parking, romantic warm lighting, and a beautiful water/city view. The waitress was attentive and amazing and the front staff was very sweet and accommodating. But that's about all the compliments I have. We did not like a single dish at this restaurant, and the prices are far from reflecting the quality of the dishes. Appetizers: * Calamari: Presentation was lack luster. However, what shocked us the most was that this was probably the worst calamari we have ever had. It was breaded and crispy, however the actual calamari itself was so slimy and just unappetizing. * Crab Cakes: Not the worst thing but it wasn't very appetizing either and I couldn't eat my full crab cake. Entrees: * Lobster Risotto: this was the worst risotto I have ever had. Especially from a place called "Lobster Shop", I assumed lobster would be a good choice. Risotto is meant to be creamy, this was PILED with cheese. I've never had a risotto where when I pick it up with my fork, it comes with a cheese pull??? It was so overcooked and mushy, my husband tried it and was baffled that I could even eat as much as I did of it. The lobster on top had no flavor other than a weird burnt taste/smell. * Steak : The saddest diner-type presentation for a $75 steak, came with two sides of potatoes? One of which was a sweet potato that almost tasted undercooked as it wasn't soft. Very under seasoned steak, the first time my husband didn't finish a steak in his life. Only saving grace was that it was the right cook. I wanted dessert but we were too scared to even try it at this point. Racked up a bill and didn't enjoy a single dish. This will forever be a memorable experience, just not for good reasons.

Came to Tacoma for a week long work trip. Decided to do dinner with friend/family. She let me know it was restaurant week so I ordered the special deal for the week. Very beautiful restaurant and atmosphere. We were greet warmly and was seat at a table so we could see the gorgeous views and bay. Our waiter was patient and gave us great recommendations. Now the food love a Caesar salad but definitely not seeing the sardine lol but the salad was tasty. I haven't had beef stroganoff in years but this one was soo yummy and rich with steak. The crème brûlée was sooo good that even though I was full had to finish it lol. The drink was good and yummy was to sweet and love tequila.

Lobster Shop is a really nice, kinda fancy restaurant in the Tacoma area. Prices were kinda on the high end but we were looking forward to a nice dinner Post-Christmas day. We ordered clam chowder, fried calamari, filet mignon, prawn scampi and crème brûlée for dessert. The clam chowder was kinda disappointing. It was a shallow bowl and I didn't care for the taste and neither did my girls. The calamari was very tender and the filet mignon was cooked perfectly medium rare. The prawns were just alright. It was $41 and there were only 4 pieces of prawns. It was unusual cause it didn't come with pasta but came with potatoes. The service was great! Our waters were filled and the food came out together.

Service was really good. They were so cool and friendly. The food was amazing! It's such a cool spot on the waterfront. We went for Happy Hour and they have a great Happy Hour menu. We out did ourselves. Will definitely be back, especially for the oysters.

First time here and man o man it was so gooood. The staff from the young man filling our water to our waitress Nadia were stellar.we came for lunch on a Tuesday (made reservations just in case) but not crowded. All the food we had was sooooo delicious. Can't wait to go back and sit outside. A bonus was the local goose who laid eggs and they were hatching!!!

The food tonight was AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS!! Our family usually shares bites so we all tried everything. The service was very attentive, helpful & friendly. The ambience there is always nice being right on the water & we happened to be there at sunset.

Our server Leah was phenomenal, she was very detailed, thoughtful & kind. Please give her a raise, bravoa, because she definitely deserves one! Ambiance is a nice, classy, elegant, chill restaurant with a beautiful view of the bay. Australian lobster: 4 stars Meat was on the tougher side vs Main lobster but taste was sweeter & bigger meat pieces. Kumamoto oysters: 5 stars Small but sweet & delicious as always. King of the north oysters: 4 stars Tasty but not as sweet but slightly briney & seaweed taste. Shinsei oysters: 4 stars Very similar to Kumamoto oysters but slightly briney & mineral taste Shrimp ceviche: 2.5 stars Chips were very crunchy but ceviche was lacking shrimp & flavor. Mac & cheese: 2.5 stars Very basic, liquidy & plain tasting Overall a very wonderful place to celebrate a birthday experience. Service: 5 stars

Wow the ambiance and atmosphere shocked me when I walked in, I honestly wasn't expecting such a beautiful interior and view. A girlfriend and I came for happy hour. The happy hour is only inside within the lounge and bar. The drinks were 10$ and were a hit. No complaints! The food was average, the service was nothing exceptional but they were nice. :) I definitely will come back! The happy hour is 100% an amazing deal. My only note is that despite us sitting inside, there were a LOT of flies and fruit flies that disrupted our time there. One fly hit my girlfriend's eye Not sure how they can mitigate this ?

Okay, so it's been years since I've been here... and this is just based on my experience and my little taste buds. We got here a little after 5 and got seated right away. The place was not very busy the whole time we were here. I want to give a special shout out to our server, Rachel, she was fun and attentive. We ordered the 3 course special that runs till 530. Clam chowder was first. I'd give that 5 stars alone. It was tasty and you actually had pieces of clams in it that weren't teeny tiny. The main course... was meh ok. It was just barely warm... the butter glob on top of the salmon didn't even melt, so that got flicked to the side, the entree was fine but nothing out of this world where I'm going to want it again. The salmon was cooked well and I know it's fish but I was picking bones out constantly. The crème brûlée was okay, decent flavor and the sugar too was perfect but half of it was not quite set all the way and a bit runny. Overall it wasn't a terrible experience and from my last visit was an improvement. If I had just got clam chowder with Rachel as my server... definitely would've been a 5 star experience.

    How expensive is this place?

Will someone please explain the service charge?

100% of this goes to the corporation to help pay for the renovation and to rehire the cooks. It says tips are not expected, but they really are, so you end up paying 40% in addition to the outrageous prices.

    When will Sunday brunch return?

Hopefully soon. I miss this so much!

    What is the Dress code?

I'm not aware of a dress code policy for this location. However, this place is a little on the higher end. I would say dress casual is appropriate attire. Jacket and tie are not required.

Is it too late for Valentines day reservations?

Probably for the ideal time you want. Give the restaurant a call and see what's open. :)

As someone who visits weekly, this place has become my weekend sanctuary precisely because it was so dog-friendly. The charm of seeing Pickle's sweet face in the window was something I looked forward to every visit. I can't count how many times I've watched people walking by stop dead in their tracks, point at that adorable face peering out, and decide right then to come inside. Nathan's charismatic hosting is what initially kept me coming back weekend after weekend, but the dog-friendly atmosphere truly sealed the deal. In a world where finding quality places that genuinely welcome our four-legged family members is rare, this spot stood out. To the management: please reconsider this decision. Pickles wasn't just a cute mascot - he was part of what made your tasting room special. As a devoted wine club member, I'm seriously questioning whether I'll continue my visits without the joy of seeing that precious pup. Who else is heartbroken about this? Our first experience was quite pleasant--I enjoyed a Bloody Mary (Bunny's Brew) and a burger, while my husband savored some wine along with the spicy pork belly sandwich. She was super nice, our waitress too. The place itself is very cute, super noisy (be mindful if you have hearings aids or are prone to sensory issues because it is CRAZY loud - so much so that they have noise reducing panels all over the ceiling and walls). It's very much a romantic aesthetic but the tiny tables become a nuisance when they bring you a plate per food item (steak and fries come separately, etc). The food itself is where we were kind of... disappointed is too strong a word, but something nearing it? We ordered the bread (which should never be $7 but here we are), the French onion soup, the steak and frites and the scallops. I'm a Spaniard so I'm very used to carne en salsa de pimienta, which I feel is what the steak sauce was meant to be. It was, don't get me wrong, it was just pepper on steroids! It definitely wakes you up!! It was missing some other spice or herb that I couldn't quite place but it wasn't bad at all, just definitely strong. Personally, the steak was well cooked but my husband said it was too dry for medium. The fries were very tasty but we are still team duck fat, and the soup was okay, but we've had tastier. Our main gripe was with the scallops. Keep in mind that the scallops were $47 (the steak was $45). The scallops were served over a bed of lentils and radish slices for some reason. Well, lentils, radishes AND ginger. By ginger, I mean all of the ginger in all the worlds' countries. Horseradish could give this dish a run for its money in the nasal clearing department. We didn't understand the almost Indian flavors in tacoma-french cuisine. It didn't pair well with the scallops and the rest of the menu, honestly. We couldn't eat it so basically we paid $47 for 5 scallops. Lovely that financial journey for us! If you're into sensorial challenges, both auditory and gustation, then Corbeau is the place for you! It's a nice place for a fancy looking dinner, but you won't be able to hold a proper conversation unless you're yelling. Also, don't be surprised - there's a 20% surcharge on every check.
