I came here for the first time and was really pleased with my experience. I came on a Sunday when they had 20 dollar surf and turf sort of deal. You could pick from 3 selections or so, I wound up getting prime rib and shrimp, and I believe it came with mashed potatoes and veggies. My boyfriend got filet and half a lobster tail. Our waiter was very nice, and had great timing. Didn't linger but checked in frequently enough that I didn't feel like we had been abandoned. I wanted a coconut mojito but he wasn't sure if they could make me one. They didn't have any sort of coconut cream/flavoring for it but they made me a mojito with coconut rum, and he was very nice when explaining all of it, and making sure it was ok. I appreciated his effort to try to give me what I wanted even if he couldn't quite do it 100%. They brought out a bread for a starter with some butter. The butter had a wavy cut to it and it had clearly been refrigerated or cooled before hand which made it difficult to spread. They also placed a sprig of rosemary on top of the butter. I thought it would have been cool if they actually had rosemary butter. I wouldn't consider the butter situation a negative thing, just sorta funny. We got calamari for our appetizer. It was good, pretty hard to screw that up. My entrée was delicious. The prime rib had a lot of flavor, and I got medium rare just like I requested. The potatoes and veggies were delicious, and so was the shrimp. While I liked my entrée if they still have the 20 dollar surf and turf special I think I will get the filet and lobster the next time. I generally favor filet and lobster anyways. Parking was easy, and the view was pretty. With everything we got, I had enough for lunch the next day and everything tasted good then. While portions are not HUGE they're enough for me, and I felt like this special had a very reasonable price point. I was surprised to find that I actually liked the menu better here than at Anthony's Homeport despite being a total seafood person. I think The Woodfire grill would be a great choice for mixed parties that like seafood, and some that don't. The selection here is much better in my opinion. I ordered a pizza - nothing special. I asked for a to-go box for my leftovers and the waiter returned with a pizza box. Me thinks not couldn't apply more... My better half learned of the woodfire grill recently and since he's not a big seafood fan, he thought why not give it a shot. I've dined here before a few years ago so I was down for going again. After reading the reviews on Yelp I did second guess it but there are other restaurants so we figured try it and see what we thought and if we changed our minds we can go to another. Called ahead, on a Saturday night I should have known "immediately seating" was a bad omen. We parked right out front, walked in and decided to take a seat in the lower section of the bar right overlooking the marina. The hostess knew this was our choice. We passed a server as we were on our way to the table and we were told someone would be right with us. If they meant "right with us" by "someone will walk by but not ask if you want a menu" that would have been a bit more appropriate. I'm a former server. I know what good service is. When a server is just concerned about dropping off a check to one of the three occupied tables in the area and not following up with the others, that is very poor service. 10 minutes in, no one came. No menus were dropped off. No drink orders taken. Nothing. We decided to try one of the other nearby restaurants. As we were walking out I wanted to make a point to the hostess of a missed opportunity for business. To our surprise we found our servers. 6 of them at the hostess station, 2 hostesses, and 1 manager. I'm sure all wanting to leave because the place was so dead. We told the hostess what happened, the manager over heard and proceeded to follow us out of the restaurant. The manager was kind enough to walk us out, and apologized profusely and even offered to comp our entire meal. Not really wishing to waste anyone's time we replied with a "no thank you." We dined at Lombardis and talk about a 180. On a suggestion to the restaurant if they read these: Improve your server skills. You're owned by Anthonys. There are plenty of great servers who would love to work for your company. Change the decor. Using the previous restaurant's, not so classy. If you want to be taken seriously, make the woodfire into a true steak house. I'm sure you'll see more people will dine at your restaurant and you won't have to tell people calling, "We're immediately seating." read more

I'm getting so tired of being disappointed by Anthony's establishments... and sadly Woodfire joins the cast. Good things - consistent and well made martini's. Service was excellent, our waiter was super nice and fairly on top of things. Food. I could've eaten two dishes worth of my bbq garlic prawns... and they have awesome flavor so I really wanted more! $17 for about two small red potatoes, maybe 8 prawns, and about 7 green beans. All they had to do was double the veg and add another tater and I would've been happier. Skimpy skimpy skimpy, and you don't even get a salad (that's another $6). All of the plates around me were so pitiful it took us all less than 10 minutes to eat. Although it took ages to get our meal. Oh, and seriously, $5 for a 14oz beer (thanks for not pointing out that I could've ordered a 22oz for a dollar more)? Come back to me O-Anthony's-I-used-to-adore!! I am a single lady sitting here having salad and a glass of wine 40 min now and I have had the waiter approach me 2 x , now one would think it's busy ! No I am the only one in here !! They say that first impressions are the important one, and in my visit to Woodfire it was a bad one. I was already hesitant due to it being an Anthony's. I've always thought their restaurants were overrated. But, we decided to give Woodfire a try based on a friends recommendation. Our reservation was set for 6:30pm on a Sunday night. We ended up arriving about 15 minutes prior, and the place was pretty packed, with quite a few people waiting. We checked in, let them know we were there, and sat down. At 6:40pm we were taken to our table. The table was nice, against the window and provided us with a nice view of the boats docked in the Puget Sound. And we had a lot of time to stare at the boats and talk about them. We sat and waited for our waitress for about 15 to 20 minutes, and were just getting ready to walk out when she arrived. Apparently she didn't know that out table was her responsibility. She apologized for the wait and offered our deserts on the house. Which would have been nice if either of us were really into deserts. A free drink would have been better. We ordered our drinks and meals. I went with the steak, and my date with the fish. Since I hadn't eaten there before I decided to be safe and order my steak medium-well instead of medium like I prefer. What they brought me was a very small piece of beef jerky. This steak was in no way shape or form even close to medium, it was beyond well. My date generally prefers her steaks well done, so we switched meals. When the waitress came back, she commented on it, and did offer to take it back, but by this point we had been at the restaurant for over an hour and just wanted to eat, and didn't want to wait on them to cook another steak. The fish actually wasn't that bad, but not worth the hassle of everything else. By the time we were done, with two drinks each, and our meals, the total bill came to over 100 bucks. Even when the waitress did realize we were her customers, she didn't spend that much time taking care of us, and with all the issues we had, she should have offered to comp the whole meal, instead of the free crappy desert she brought us. First times are always the important one, and I can honestly say, Woodfire is on my list of places to not visit again, due to that one visit. read more

The casual counterpart to Anthony's Homeport next door, the wood-fire grill is geared toward sandwiches and less fancy-schmancy food, and less geared toward sea-food. The funny thing is, the two restaurants looks so similar on the inside, my parents and I argued over which place was the one we had the terrible meal in. All in all its not great. The burger looked decent as did the fish-burger, but the chicken wrap was not a good choice on my part. All in all its an okay spot for lunch, and the view of the marina is cool, its not gonna knock your socks off, and is not a place I would travel for. read more

Decent food, bad ass happy hour and gorgeous views. I'm not sure why there are so many bad reviews! I was hesitant to try the place out because of the reviews but rather than going to Anthony's next door like we always do, we decided to try out Woodfire Grill instead. The workers were attentive, friendly and gave good suggestions. We sat in the big, cozy bar and perused the happy hour menu. Good selection, cheap prices and tons of drink options. I had the shrimp cocktail, tomato basil soup and a salad. My husband had the halibut (not on happy hour menu), but his fav anyway. The food came quickly and was quite filling. The hubby didn't like the layer of "breading" on his halibut, but otherwise the meal was good. NOT great or mind blowing, but good. We managed to get some drinks in us, fill up on food and left happy as clams. I will come back for happy hour again. read more

We've been to the woodfire grill many times but had a not so great experience last spring. The manager tried to compensate by sending us a gift certificate which I appreciated. However, we went for a work lunch yesterday for the first time in a few months, with a group of about 18 people. the reason I gave 2 stars was because the waiter handled our group fairly well. The food was not good for many reasons. My husband and I ordered the rotisserie chicken Cobb salad without the dressing listed on the menu, but blue cheese dressing on the side. I also asked for balsamic dressing, in addition. We received the regular salad because our waiter was not the person who delivered our dishes. He came out and corrected it with what we ordered quickly. I never received my balsamic dressing, however. My friend ordered salmon and salad but received rice, in addition. Since she didn't eat rice, I tried a bite and some of the rice was crunchy, not cooked fully. It was weird. What was very disappointing was the chicken. It was so hard and dry that I found it difficult to eat. I can make a better salad by buying rotisserie chicken from Costco! Since this is supposedly a featured item in the restaurant, I was shocked at the quality I received. We won't be going back or recommending it for our work meetings. read more

My wife, my sister and I met another couple here for Happy Hour on Wednesday, July 30, 2014. We arived about 3:15 PM and the place was barely half full, but we experienced very slow, although courteous, service. We are not heavy drinkers, but we finished our drinks, I had beer, everyone else wine, and had to wait a long time before the waitress around again for the next drink order. My wife ordered a glass of water several times but it was a good half hour before she finally got it. It got so bad that we started to flag down bus boys and other waitresses just to get our drinks refilled. The wait for the food seemed even longer. I ordered the cheeseburger medium rare but it was a hockey puck on a bun when I finally got it. I would have sent it back but I was hungry and didn't want to wait another 45 minutes for a replacement. the other Happy Hour appetizers, Roasted Garlic Cheese and Baked Dungeness Crab And Shrimp Dip were okay, but nothing outstanding. The best thing was the bread "Woodfire Focaccia" of which we got a separate order because it weemend it wouldn't take long to get it. The view of the water and the decor is nice and the place is clean, but the slow, slow service and mediocre food made this a very disappointing visit. The bill for the five of us was $103. I would not recommend this restaurant if you are taking out-of-town visitors, which we were, for a pleasant Happy Hour experience. read more

Intended our visit to be a relaxing Saturday night meal, after working hard in the yard all day. We made it a fun family outing, got dressed up, and took our 5-year-old daughter with us. Anyone with kids knows that sitting for a long time, in a "fine dining establishment" is no fun for the kiddos. I think my daughter must have politely asked the waiter for crayons 3x before he finally remembered to bring them. Little gestures like the treatment of kids as equal to adults go a long way, but sadly the Woodfire gives the youngsters second rate treatment. There was really no special treatment toward our child to make her feel like a welcomed guest. THE MEAL: while pretty good, was scarce. My husband, who is by no means overweight, could have eaten 2 servings of the flank steak. I am a petite lady and never finish a meal, but I cleaned the plate and could have had more ling cod, if it was presented to me. So, this provides a 2 fold rating: the food was great (we wanted more), but the portions were extremely small. DRINKS: Bartender's service was great. Went there for lunch. Nice interior. We do like how it is set up, open floor plan, nicely decorated. Clean. Service was good. Linen napkins. Always like cloth napkins. Lunch menu, kind of limited. Food is actually quite mediocre. Don't be fooled into thinking this will taste like Anthony's Home Port. Prices are between $15-$30 so it's not bad, but the actual quality of the food isn't the best. I had the huckleberry salmon, potatoes were undercooked, salmon was OKAY, too much of the huckleberry sauce for sure. We came in with a large party, and our server was quite good, so definitely a bonus on service, but given the amount of people we had, I felt that our table could've used two servers. This place is a great deal! Happy hour from 3 - close daily, so there is always a great selection of $3/$5/$7 appetizers to order from, as well as $3.50 craft beers and other drink deals. We've tried a good number of their appetizers, as well, and they are all really good. My favorite is the garlic cheese, but the pizzas and $5 burgers are also really good. The atmosphere is cozy - a nice fireplace and small dining area. No complaints about the service, either. I would love it if the happy hour menu was updated every so often, but for now, I'm diggin' the place! read more

This was a rather disappointing visit. Our oldest son (almost 9) wanted to eat seafood at a nicer restaurant (nicer = step up from Red Robin). We have 4 children so we avoid nicer restaurants when they're with us. But this time it was just him and us so off we went. Originally we wanted to eat at Anthony's Homeport but there was a longish wait. I'm not sure why they didn't just send us down to the Woodfire Grill since they're owned by the same people, but that's really a review for Anthony's, not the Woodfire. Being unwilling to wait 45 minutes on a Thursday night, we decided to try the Woodfire, where there was no wait. We were seated almost right away. The view is great, and it smelled good in the place too. The service was ok. The bread that was dropped at our table would have been pretty decent had it not been ice cold in the center. We gave our son freedom to order what he wanted and that meant we got the dungeness crab app. Most expensive app on the menu... he orders like me! He really likes crab so we were looking forward to having some. Food was v.e.r.y. slow coming out. It took forever to arrive. Probably 20-30 minutes after we ordered. Right before it came I smelled burning garlic and said, "I bet that's ours". Sure enough, 5 minutes later here is our crab and there is burnt garlic all in the bottom. The crab portion was also small. Pretty disappointing. What we got tasted good. Luckily the burnt garlic flavor didn't impart to the crab. But to send obviously burnt garlic out was just poor service on the part of the chef and waitstaff. Son got prawns, which he took one bite of and was done with. They were way overcooked, like rubber. I got the Steak Oscar and it was meh. It wasn't awful, but at that price ($35) it should have been far far better. Husband got the fish and chips. Lackluster. Everything was lukewarm, like it had been waiting at the pass for 10 minutes before it got to us. Son wanted dessert and he got a chocolate cake thing that he really liked. I had the creme brulee which was blah. It wasn't even fully caramelized. At this point though we just want to go. The whole meal took forever because there was 20-30 minutes between courses. WAY too long, given that half the restaurant was empty. There was a big crowd for awhile but they kept half the seats in the place empty and didn't seat folks even though half the sections were open. Strange. We rarely hit a place twice because there are lots of places to try. We dropped way too much for this food and won't be back. We could have gone to a much finer restaurant and eaten much better for the same price. read more

Good spot for a quick bite during mid day. If you think the food is similar to Anthony's Homeport, it is not. While some items are the same, most are different and on the cheaper end when compared. During the summer season they have tasty cocktails made from current produce of the season. For example, their huckleberry lemonade is delicious and full of flavor. The Caesar salad is served in a unique way. Instead of receiving a chopped salad, you get served with the whole romaine stems, which is neat and if seated next to a window, you get a view of the marina. read more

Love the view and service! Came here for an early dinner the first time, had a wonderful experience. Steaks and seafood were cooked perfectly! The second time around, it was during happy hour. Same great service but the happy hour menu is nothing impressive. In fact, we were a bit disappointed with the minimal food and drink selection which were so so.. Went on a Sunday evening for a birthday - had a window booth with a nice view. My husband had the (very!) Thick Cut Pork Chop, which he said was cooked to perfection. I wasn't impressed by my meal or the service at Anthony's Woodfire Grill. The service was incredibly slow. My roommate and I arrived around 5:30pm and decided to have the early-bird four course meal. We had the shrimp cocktail to start. We were both disappointed when it arrived and was a tablespoon of baby shrimp on top of a mayonnaise-based salad. The second course I had the caesar salad. It was nothing spectacular, but not bad. For the main course I chose the seafood macaroni and cheese, which had crab and (again) baby shrimp instead of prawns. When my macaroni arrived, they had forgotten to add crab. Someone else, besides our waitress, brought out a dish to exchange and said that our waitress had grabbed the wrong dish. I wouldn't order this dish again anyway. For dessert, I chose the chocolate mousse. It came out in a 4 ounce mason jar. The best part of the entire meal was the cookie crumble on the bottom of the jar. I also had a huckleberry daiquiri which tasted like alcohol but not huckleberry. Overall, I was pretty disappointed by every aspect of the meal. The waitress was slow. We were there almost 2 hours and most of that was waiting for our waitress to ask for our drink order, our food order, bring food, or bring the check. Our food was often brought by someone else and she rarely checked on us. Every time she checked on our table, she had an excuse for not coming by. I wouldn't go here again. read more

Having missed the other happy hours that night, my wife and I decided to meander down to Anthony's Woodfire Grill and partake in their, "all night long" happy hour. What a mistake. While the setting is nice, and the day was beautiful the food reminded me of my grandmother's retirement home. A drunk sailor and his wife harassed a young couple on a date, our waitress looked like she just came off of a 3 day coke bender. The steak was dry and the chicken was cold. While the "Woodfire" had been known as one of Everett's "nice" restaurants, I believe the sun has set on this establishment. read more

This is a good restaurant, but I only go for the black cod when it's in season, because they have a dish that slays me. Otherwise, the food is good, but I think we pay for the location and the atmosphere more than the food. The service is great. There's one waitress there that remembers everyone's names, even if you haven't been there in ages. I don't remember her name, but she works in the bar and has a ponytail. Go for the black cod or the fab happy hour (which gets crowded fast, so go early). read more

Horrible don't go and waste your time. Restaurant was empty on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, lots of open tables even outside but hostess has everyone waiting in the lobby. Doesn't want to overwhelm the wait staff. Won't allow people in the bar even when there was only one table of people in the bar. Come on I think your bar tender could have kept up. Let your customers know your short staffed and allow us the choice to sit outside on a beautiful sunny day to wait instead of your lobby where it's standing room only. read more

I was hoping for an awesome experience since this is part of the Anthony's family, but I was sorely disappointed. The service was disorganized and the food was awful The waitress never asked us if we wanted to order appetizers, she had a hard time keeping up with our drink orders and she mixed up several dishes when serving us. They also brought out 2 yr old's pizza to the table with a scalding hot plate! The calamari was bland, tough and tasteless. It tasted like it was previously frozen and dragged through plain flour. My steak was tough and over cooked- I asked for medium well and it was charred. My shrimp was over cooked and rubbery and my potatoes were covered in oil and salt. Overall, it was not worth the money paid and we would have been better off eating at Denny's for dinner. read more

Three stars for the bar, 1.5 for the dining room. I agree with the other reviews that applaud the nice happy hour menu and ho-hum the overpriced dinner menu. This place has landed solidly in my "happy hour ONLY" category , because I seem to get better service and overall value in the bar , compared to out in the dining room. Favorites include a delicious tomato basil soup , which is well complimented by the Foccacia bread. This combo, with a good hearty NW beer, is one of my favorites on a blustery winter's afternoon.The fish & chips are also very good, with the Yukon Gold potatoes being a nice upgrade from french fries. The calamari varies, sometimes it's perfectly cooked (which to me, is slightly crispy) , other times it's undercooked , with mushy breading. If I want calamari or chowder, Anthony's Homeport is a few doors down, and has this place beat in spades on those. The pizzas have a nice crispy crust and are delicious. All the happy hour food prices are great values, in my book.....but at full price (50% more) , not so much. Nice beer selection, with a good sized glass of micro going for $3 during HH . I've always had excellent service at the bar. Can't say as much for the dining room. The atmosphere is nice , the last time I was there it was snowing and the view of the marina with the flakes coming down was really cool .... a perfect compliment to the thick , rich soup I had. read more

Came here for a friends birthday a few months back... I was not impressed at all. We thought that being an affiliate of Anthony's, the food would be pretty good, but my salmon was harshly overcooked. It was hard to get my fork into it and there was no flavor. I was so upset. I asked them if they could try again but was told that their kitchen was close to closing. I feel as though the server should have at least offered something else, or a comp on the ticket since it truly was the kitchen's fault for overcooking the fish, but nothing of the sort happened. Figured I would order another drink instead. I ordered a Manhattan- which is whiskey, vermouth, and bitters. All I got was vermouth and bitters. I'm not even kidding. If I'm in this area again, I will be going to Lombardi's which is in the same parking lot instead.. read more

Though my steak was delicious I felt for the price the sides were a little cheap. A romantic dinner should not include corn on the cob. Really? 50 cents an ear and that is what I get with my filet mignon? Corn on the cob and mashed potatoes. Major fail. Save your money and order off their happy hour menu. I haven't been back here for at least 8 months because I thought the quality had deteriorated. I just tried going back with my family and it was surprisingly better! The Tomahawk long rib dinner was delicious! We had roasted cauliflower and calamari friti for appetizers. Each was wonderful. Our server was extremely attentive and efficient! Ok been here about 6 times and this last trip is last time. Prices are far to high and quality if food is terrible. Service was also lacking, in my opinion they believe view of water is all they need for a dinner place.
