My gondolier recommend this spot, but i was not impressed. The anti pasta with seafood was mediocre. The best was the clam in the middle. The tuna was okay as well, The pasta with mussel was fine. The seafood was fresh but the flavors didnt suit my palette. Overall a bit expensive imo.

Everything here was phenomenal from the Wine, the Baby Calamari Fritto, to the Almond crusted salmon down to the Tiramisu and the espresso. So glad we asked a gondolier where he eats. This was 100% our favorite place to have dinner in Venice. The ambiance is very nice and authentic with oil paintings hanging on the walls and the Gondolier hats hanging from the ceiling. We will be back the next time we are in Venice for sure.

My wife had the sirloin steak and I had the swordfish. My wife does like seafood, however, she ended finishing half my swordfish and eating half the appetizer of clams and oysters. The food is cooked to perfection! The food paired well with the house Cabernet. We will be back soon!

We tried this restaurant on our first night in Italy/Venice after looking for a place that had ample seafood options. Our host and server were very attentive, taking our orders and delivering the food promptly. I had the sauteed mussels and clams with tomatoes, lemon, wine, garlic, butter and other herbs. It was extremely satisfying and the main seafood dishes and second courses were very reasonably priced for the amount of high-quality seafood and choices. My brother had the squid ink pasta, which came with large chunks of sauteed squid, green pasta and ink sauce. The house white wine was also excellent. If you are looking for a quieter place slightly away from the San Marco crowds with a TON of seafood options, this is a good option. My only complaint was that they charged 3 euros per person for bread that we did not request. Also, make sure to ask for the check and then pay at the counter as in most places in Italy.

While in Venice, I went here twice with my family (of 4), both times for dinner. Everything at Antico Calice is delicious. Every dish is made fresh and with local ingredients, so the pasta dishes come with a different sauce based on the ingredients available that day at the market. The seafood is amazing. They are able to cook every type of fish on their menu to perfection. I can personally attest to the tastiness of both pastas with monkfish and mussels, respectively, as well as the filet steak, which was juicy and seasoned to a T. We also had the tiramisu which was classic and delicious. The atmosphere is cozy and the presentation of each dish is beautiful. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting (or living in, for that matter) Venice.

The clam pasta is incredible! A large portion for each person. The service is bustling and typical Italian, but it's not about speedy service. It's about taste that changes your world. This is that place! Also got the tris cod and polenta dish and it was delicious! We loved this place! True to Venetian food and experience. Will go back...for our third time this trip :)

We arrived for our dinner reservation at 7:30pm but found the door was locked. A local friendly Italian woman made them open it for us and they gave us white wine on the house. We were seated at around 8pm and then ordered. Food ordered included mixed seafood appetizer, lobster spaghetti, squid Ink tagliatelle with cuttlefish, grilled eggplant and zucchini. Antipast misto included baccala, octopus, cuttlefish, sardines, squid innards, mini shrimps, scallops and polenta. Everything was tender, especially the inside of the squid. The squid ink pasta had the most tender cuttlefish I have eaten along with homemade tagliatelle with black squid ink. The portions were huge for the pasta. This is another one of my favorite restaurants during my visit to Italy. Will definitely return. They are moving to a larger location soon.

Here in Venice expect a lot of fresh seafood options. Group of friends had some really tasty dishes from Tri Cod, Steak and House Lasagna. Service is good, waiter was pretty attentive and helpful for selections. I would recommend this place.

Best meal I have ever had. It was a seafood dish with vinaigrette and lots of onions. Love it. Went to this restaurant in the summer.

Best meal I have had. It was a seafood dish with vinaigrette and lots of onions. Love it. Went to this restaurant in the summer, staff was decent, (it was busy) but the food was amazing. I got back to the United states for about 2 months now and I kept reminding myself to put this 'review up'. Would go again..

The fried fish was ok. My wife's black cuddle fish was ok at best too. But the mood and wine was good. Just average I guess.

Lots and lots of restaurants to choose from in Venice but this unassuming restaurant is a true gem…read more It's easy to miss as it's tucked in a corner right by a bridge. Once inside they have a couple tables with small window views of any gondolas passing by. We started off with a plate of lightly fried sardines topped with pickled white onions. The fry on the fish was super light and those vinegar-y onions were the perfect pairing. We cleaned that plate. The lasagna was well balanced with the meat, sauce, cheese. The squid ink pasta was chewy/al dente with a subtle touch of seafood flavors giving the cuttlefish. It was very umami but nothing too overbearing. Delicious! It's a Family business that was been around for many years. Grazie to the friendly staff and chef!

The jovial mood with the waiters with big personalities is gone. The menu you can find online is no longer available so you get a very limited menu to choose from--nearly entirely seafood. So if you have anyone in your party that just wants pasta with a red meat sauce or a non seafood lasagne, not available. We were a party of 8. Two people ordered the scallop appetizers. Pretty presentation on shells. 3 tiny scallops in the shells. More like an amuse bouche. Totally disappointing. The linguine with clams as an entree had clams so small you almost needed a magnifying glass to see them. Couldn't taste the clams and annoying to try to eat something so tiny , and just try to eat the pasta with all those tiny shells. The baby shrimp on polenta was actually good. But again the shrimp were like tiny hatchlings tempura battered. Tasted okay except for those that were soggy from the polenta that was very soupy. I wanted the gnocchi with crab which was on the very limited menu but no longer available. The alternative was gnocchi with a sea bass sauce which I chose but didn't like at all. The gnocchi were good but the sauce wasn't at all for me. We had to continue to ask for side dishes for the bread, butter, olive oil, salt and pepper. We will not return. Poor value for your money. Plus there is a cover charge and service included in your bill which was a surprise. Very sad to see our favorite Venetian restaurant decline so much.
