You get what you pay for, and these roof racks are cheap! I paid $100 to have it installed professionally, but they messed it up and I was stuck with a very loud whistle (think of a tea kettle) anytime I drove above 35mph. None of the mounts were flush with the car, they were spaced unevenly, and the bars were so close together that placing anything on the rack would put my car and others at danger. I sent photos and an audio recording to their customer service person, and I was told that all of this is normal, and they implied somehow I was to blame. I eventually drove back out to their garage (an hour away from where I live, making my total drive time 4 hours!) and it was reinstalled correctly. I asked for a refund on the installation fee because of the massive inconvenience and was basically told to kick rocks. And guess what! After a month or so of driving with the roof rack, it's back to whistling! Nothing seems right and secure and there's gaps everywhere. The rubber across the top bars slides and sticks out. Mostly, the place is managed by an absolute jerk who refused to acknowledge my experience or make things right at all. The 5-star reviews probably come from people that are pressured into leaving a good review so they get a free beanie. Bad product, terrible owner. read more

I ordered my RTT on a Tuesday and it was delivered to my driveway in Sacramento area that Saturday by Sebastian their delivery guy. Even though he had a busy day of deliveries Sebastian hung out to help open and set it up to inspect and to show the features of the tent and how easy it was to use. On the front end of ordering Antedote was super easy to work with and gave me confidence that I was working with a well established company and that I had no worries and this proved to be true.... As far as the Roof Top Tent... the quality was literally top notch and way better than we had expected it to be. We used it for our trip on the White Rim trail and on some tougher trails through Colorado and it held up great with zero problems and was super easy to deal with getting it set up and tore down... in a nut shell it was a great purchase In summary I WISH EVERY COMPANY I DEALT WITH HAD THIS KIND OF CUSTOMER SERVICE !!! My husband and I have a trailer, but wanted a "spare room" for when kids come along on camping trips, or if we want to leave the trailer at home. After copious amounts of research, we decided that a Saturday trip to Antidote Outdoors was warranted to see the tents in person. It's a big expense to commit to without seeing them in person. Well, we were impressed. We ordered the half rack, the Stargazer tent, an awning for the Jeep (and another for the trailer), along with the annex room. The following Saturday morning Sebastian arrived right on time with a truck full of boxes for us. I won't kid you. Installation was no joke, just like they warned. If you can go to the shop and get it installed for the extra $100, do it. Just as the sun was setting, we were finished. (The awning was installed the following weekend!) We climbed inside and I promptly fell asleep! So comfortable! After we installed the awning, we tried the annex on it. Sadly, the zippers did not match. The teeth were of different sizes. I texted Sebastian, who directed me to a manager. She sent a return label via email the same day and we received the correct annex room within days. We've been very happy with our experience with customer service. Our insulation layer was (and still is) out of stock, but I have no doubt that they will send it when it becomes available again. While we haven't camped in our Stargazer yet, our son has, and had a good night. We are planning an overland trip later this month, so we'll get our turn soon. read more

I purchased full length rack for my jeep wrangler. What a friendly service, they delivered rack to my house which is abut 500 miles away from warehouse. Installation are straight forward, and rack standard brackets is very low profile, only raised about 3 inches. And it is strong and steady. Then to mount the RTT on top, it is a little challenging since its low profile. I have to mount the RTT on to the rack first then mount rack and RTT together. Which requires two or three people to lift up and mount. It is so nice that full rack's cross bar has t slot on top, which is a big plus, I can mount the RTT direct on to the cross bar without a vertical bar under the RTT. (Of course, it might require some hack to remove the the vertical bar which usually is a 2020 extrusion bar, which the concept to mount that vertical bar and mount to full rack cross bar are the same. By doing such hack, the RTT will get lowered by another inch. read more

I see the response that was given by the owner. Hmm... unfortunate. I never asked that they go with us on our trip or otherwise. That's weird. I did ask that they replace the broken tent and they told me to bring it to them in So-Cal. Paying to ship the tent would be astronomical. They also told me I'd need to pay for the repair. Nothing in terms of responsibility. The owner also called my husband and had a really ridiculous conversation with him where he accused us of being out for for money, damaging our own tent, and then acted wildly unprofessional. As for me writing my own review, I feel that I'm allowed to do so, as I'm indeed an actual person who is unsatisfied with the product. I bought this tent about 3 months ago, after tax it was around 2k. The quality control was so poor that when driving down the rd yesterday the plexiglass flew off. 1 week after I got it it rained and it leaked so bad it soaked my 4 year old he was shaking for hours from the cold that morning. I called Antidote and they told me I needed to pay for the repair myself, despite that their poor quality control could have killed someone. How is this acceptable? If I owned a company I would send a new one and refund the customer completely hoping they didn't sue me for my negligence. I hope Antidote has the intelligence and decency to make things right. I see in your comment below this you forgot to include that I texted 1 week after getting the tent to repair a leak that left my 4 year old cold and freezing and you said fix it yourself, you left out that your delivery guy had what looked like 50 deliveries that day and everything was loaded on your trailer in a precarious position and the inspection was about 10 seconds, I see from other reviews this companies method is always blame the customer for the companies mistakes. I plan on taking this tent with me camping everywhere I go from now on, I am asked about it at least 5 times a day when I'm not camping as it is. I can't wait to tell everyone I know and all the random people I meet (as a coach and trainer for the last 15 years that's a lot) about my experience. read more
