I saw her tase it, one bite at a time and all of a sudden I see her putting a couple of spoonful of the soup that came with the meal into her porridge. I thought that was strange and asked her why did she do that? She said both the chicken and the porridge was really dry as well as lacking flavor. I tried it and I had to agree, so much so that I asked if they could bring me some sesame oil. I ordered the LA Galbi and was really excited to eat it. Unfortunately, it was served lukewarm, dry, and lacked the flavor you expect from Korean BBQ. To me the best thing was the different types of banchan (side dishes) as it had a modern flare and not so much the traditional ones you have at a authentic Korean restaurant. Maybe you should come in last so they give their pre-cooked food to the first people so you will get a fresh cooked meal. Or better yet, go to K-town if you want authentic fresh Korean food and skip the hype!

I was looking forward to checking out this Korean BBQ place that I haven't been to yet, especially based on the pictures and reviews. I've been to most of the other Korean BBQ places in Ktown so having more options is a good thing However, from the moment my friend and I entered the restaurant it was all downhill. Front of house was not very welcoming nor friendly as they spent most of their energy and attention training their new employees. Didn't even say "hi" or "welcome" when we first walked in. Decor initially appears updated when you first walk in, but the back area where we were seated was dated and the seating was cramped. The seats were like those old diner seats from the 80's. Once seated, you have to scan a QR code for the menu......the problem is that there's little or no phone service so it takes forever to upload the menu on your phone. My friend and I were surprised at the prices compared to other Korean BBQ places. The food here is also overpriced. Once we ordered the food our experience only proceeded to get worse. The server put the heat on the grill on really high and basically burned the first order of brisket meat we ordered then had the audacity to tell us how their meat is most enjoyable when cooked medium. We told him "Uh thanks for the suggestions, too bad you overcooked all the brisket." The server was either upset at our feedback or too dense to understand his mistake. We also ordered kalbi and the server still had the heat on high so the outside got over cooked but the inside was borderline under cooked/raw. Completely incompetent grilling. My friend ordered naymyung and he kept adding so much vinegar in it because it had NO flavor. The sides and sauces tasted either bland or really off, definitely didn't taste like typical Korean. It tasted more like someone who doesn't know Korean food trying to make Korean food. We ate a little and decided that it wasn't worth finishing and filling our stomach with such bland, overcooked, overpriced mediocre food. Paid our bill and left our table that had a lot of food still left on it. Never coming back, especially when there are so many better options in Ktown. Even though they advertised themselves as modern Korean BBQ, it's basically a wanna be Korean BBQ that poses as one but doesn't seem to know the first thing about Korean food and flavors. Go somewhere else. This place is way overrated, probably by folks who have no idea what real Korean BBQ actually is supposed to taste like. If you are a tourist and have no idea what Korean BBQ is or what it should be like or simply just don't care, then go here. Otherwise save your money and go somewhere else. It's most definitely NOT worth the money. read more

This is my second time at this restaurant this weekend! I first noticed the beautiful flower decor outsise and there was the cutest bull mascot gretting people outside as well. Two friends and I came in at 6pm ish Friday. It wss poppin! We were at up on the 3rd. The hostest let us know before walking up. Up to the 3rd floor stairs there is a super cute floral arch. I had to take a few selfies there lol The Drinks were pretty standard but what they had that way super cute was a pitch of soju sangria(which cones iced with various fruits and some platic flashy lights for ambiance) we also got a bottle of soju. For food my friends got the galbi jjim (wine soy sauce braised beef)and osam bulgogi(sqicy squid and pork belly), and the pork and beef dumplings. I tried it all but didnt eat much as I wss here to drink lol My friend raved about their foods. The staff were so friendly and very willing to explain any of the free side dishes or about any foods on the menu. The food is a little pricey but the quality is above expectation conoared to other places in ktown. It was such a great atmosphere on Friday night, I decided to bring another friend back on Sunday evening for her first korean restaurant exoerience. She was not disappointed. I got the fried tofu bibimbap and she got the mushroom japchae. And we got three bottles of Soju! A great way to catch up and chill after a looong Sunday. The waitress served our table was unprofessional. The whole exhaust pipe dropped off on our table when she grilled and clearly she didn't know how to put it back. Water and soup spilled all over half the table, my friend's phone was almost damaged by the water. She did replaced the raw meat but no other food that was also contaminated by the pipe, didn't clean the table for us(at least grab some napkins would help but she didn't). The manager there didn't do anything, no apologies, no discount was offered and the waitress even asked for tips when we left the table. I used to love to eat here with friends when they came to New York to visit but this time is just a very unpleasant experience. The food is fairly good but the customer service is just terrible. This Korean restaurant was surprisingly good! I especially liked how easy and casual it was--you can simply walk in, order right away, and enjoy your meal without a long wait. The restaurant is spacious with two stories, and the service was friendly and efficient. The japchae was especially good. The portion was on the smaller side, but it tasted fresh, well seasoned, and most importantly, not overly sweet like japchae can sometimes be. The salad was also very good, and the chicken wings were a highlight--very juicy on the inside and perfectly crispy on the outside. Overall, a very convenient Korean spot with genuinely good food and quick service. I'm always in ktown but this is the first time I've eaten here and I don't regret it. The service was great and I love the atmosphere here. The place is nicely decorated. The service is great even though it was extremely busy. Our server was named Chloe and she made sure that we had everything that we needed. Should've taken more photos but was too hungry and forgot :( Chloe was honestly one of the best, if not the best, server I've ever had. Her service was impeccable, she was attentive to our needs and was always there for us when we had questions about the food. Furthermore, her sincerity and angelic approach to serving us has struck a chord with me. I will definitely be back and I urge anyone who reads this to come here and ask for Chloe. read more

Best KBBQ in KTWON! Amazing food! Great drinks! Friendly staff! I was so impressed with the quality of the meat and their attentive service. Even side dishes were all paired well with BBQ and main dishes. We ordered galbi, bulgogi, kimchi stew, and egg soufflé. The BBQ was cooked to perfection by the staff. The beef was so flavorful that it didn't really need any dipping sauces. It might be pricier than other restaurants in Ktwon, but it's totally worth it. My go to KBBQ place!! Love absolutely everything about this place. The atmosphere on Friday's and Saturday's make the experience even better!! The food never disappoints and the workers are always friendly and helpful! I recommend making the reservation beforehand so that you won't have to wait in line. As for the menu itself, Galbi Jjim and Saeng Galbi are what I usually tend to go with. And an extra star goes for their new bar. With plethora of Korean BBQ options available in Ktown, this one really stands out from the rest. Starting from the quality of meats they have, the type of service received from the staff, to the ambiance that's not torn apart and worn out like the rest. Kpop music was blasting (not too crazy about it), but it definitely felt inviting to knock back couple of korean drinks with my friends. The restaurant had a New York City street smell that kept leaking in. We were seated in the front so it kept being a lingering smell that he had to endure. The food was decent and we had the bi bim bap, the glass noodles, and some kimchi fries. Some of the fries were over done. The noodles were good and well cooked. Ate here several months ago pre radio city show and the taste of the bilgogi soup is still in my dreams. Everyone loved it so much we all want to go back. That's why the 5 stars. The bbq was just ok compared to others I've been too but it was my kids first Korean bbq experience so they got a kick out of it and ate up the steak like crazy. This is my first review. Was here this weekend with my friends. At night the dark vibes were so nice. Food seemed a bit pricy for its portion size but i figure thats the how most New York City restaurants are like these days. Food was good, drinks were not the best but service was great. Went here last night for the 4th or 5th time and it was awesome. Every time I have been it has been consistent and delicious. Last night we got two orders of the wings along with the mandoo to start. Both so good and very crispy good way to start the meal. For bbq we got Galbi and bulgogi which were marinated perfectly. We also got a beer tower with shochu mixed it but I prefer it separately. My husband and I had never been here before and stumbled upon the restaurant during a Korean bbq crave...the ambiance and energy was so comfortable and airy. It felt like both a home comfort and the experience of fine dining. I'm a real fan of this place. The BBQ is really fun and we had the "Beef for 2" set which was a real treat. We also had the fried beef Mandoo (dumplings) and the Kimchi fried rice with beef. The Kimchi fried rice was exceptional, not too greasy and not too spicy as I have often found to be the case in other Korean restaurants. Great service, fun atmosphere and delicious food. First time here and we enjoyed the experience! Staff was friendly and willing to make recommendations. Chloe Lee was our chef who prepared our beef platter perfectly at our table grill. Low FODMAP dieters beware of the garlicky side dishes and dips, but oddly the "garlic soy" sauce was the least garlicky tasting thing on the table and paired well with the beef. Me and my friends were very pleased with the service and food. The grilled meats were delicious. You can literally see good quality of the meat with nice marbling. I highly recommend prime rib eye and sliced prime short ribs (or order the meat platter for a big family/group dining). I also liked their crunchy kimchi. Ventilation works well so you don't smell like bbq after your meal. Definitely will come back for more bbq. read more

Kudos for their quick and attentive service! The food was way better than any other Korean BBQ restaurants on the 32nd street. 'Saeng Galbi' (Prime beef short rib) and 'Saewoojang uni dup bap' (Cured shrimp with uni over rice) is a must try!! The meat was so fresh and tender that it just melted away. This was the best korean bbq I have had in New York I hve eaten alot of korean food in my time and I can assure that this is the best place for the right price.
