We have lived a few miles west of this restaurant for more than two decades and finally got around to trying it. (Hubby loves Mexican food.) The place is small and cozy, and it seats about 12-15, maybe a tad more. Warning: If you don't speak Spanish you will have a tough time here. The server barely spoke English. Fortunately, I studied Spanish for four years and can communicate decently in the language. First, I had to ask that the music be lowered. We couldn't hear each other or the server. And my request was gladly honored. Don't expect the traditional chips and salsa here. We got chips with refried beans. And I have to say it was the best refried beans I have ever had. It was fresh and tasty and not too salty or soppy. We ordered the four-taco special with a beef, chorizo, chicken, and al pastor taco. And we also got a meal that came with three chicken sopes. We shared both. The chicken was a bit dry. The others were OK. The accompanying cilantro and onions (on the side because of my onion allergy) and cheese topping were plentiful. The tortillas tasted homemade. But all the meats were a bit too salty for us. The server was very polite and spoke a couple of words of English but not enough for someone who doesn't speak Spanish. Okay soy Mexicano y déjame decirte que es LA PEOR EXPERIENCIA en restaurantes que he tenido en toda mi vida, no recomiendo este lugar para nada si me dieran a elegir entre comer en este lugar y comer una hamburguesa de la basura preferiría comer la hamburguesa de la basura, para empezar tienen una bocina con la música en el volumen más alto que no puedes ni siquiera ordenar porque las meseras no te escuchan; sales del "restaurant" y no puedes escuchar claramente de tan dañado que están los tímpanos, ahora vamos con el servicio, no se si todas las meseras sean así sin embargo la mesera a cargo de mi orden fue grosera desde el principio, tenía una actitud deplorable; estaba actuando casi como si ella nos estaba haciendo el favor a nosotros por estar ahí, cuando le pedí que si podía bajar el volumen de la música solo hizo un mal gesto y no le importo en nada, simplemente estaba actuando con la actitud más soberbia y altanera posible, y por ultimo la comida, para empezar tardaron muchísimo en llegar, ordenamos un "agua de horchata" y fue la peor agua de horchata que pudo haber al grado de que podías sentir todavía los pedazos de arroz entero cuando la bebías, era insípida, realmente parecía que solo pusieron arroz y restos de azúcar en esa cosa, además ordenamos "tacos al pastor" para empezar como mexicano puedo decir que el título de "cocinero" les queda grande a quien está en la cocina en ese lugar, un cocinero mexicano que no puede hacer ni siquiera una tortilla y digo mexicano porque aparentemente eso es lo que son porque ninguno de los trabajadores habla inglés, de todos modos tortillas mal hechas, la carne sobre cocida y con una salsa sin sazón, también ordenamos los "sopes de pollo" que puedo decir, la base de maíz del sope estaba dura, el pollo estaba desabrido no tenía sal, pimienta o nada de Sansón Era como si pusieron solo a hervir en pollo en agua y ya. It was as if they just boiled the chicken in water and that was it. Stopped by this whole in the wall that I've been passing by almost every day. Located on Davie Blvd and 39 st, Antojitos can be found in a small shopping plaza right on the Ave. Parking is free but limited. I was expecting better Mexican food. Now it wasn't bad but I was just expecting better. We ordered tacos. You get 4 tacos for each protein picked. We ordered 4 Chicken and 4 El Pastor. Each taco order is $8. The tacos were simple, small flour tacos with the meat in them sprinkled with onions and cilantro. Now the reason why I think the tacos could've been better.... the chicken and El Pastor tacos were dry! Usually El Pastor is very savory and a little fatty. Well this meat was dry. We needed more flavor and juice. We got two hot sauce, green and orange. The orange one was the spiciest, the green being more like a salsa verde. I've had better. I wasn't too pleased with the flavor of the salsa. To drink I got a Tamarindo juice that was a little bit on the sweet side, I personally like it with a more tart flavor. I went for lunch on a Thursday. There was only one other customer. They have about 5 tables for dining in. There is no outdoor seating. You park right in front of restaurant. Service was good. They give you free chips that are fried corn tortillas so they are thick. Green salsa is spicy and the refried beans are warm to dip your chips in. I had an enchilada meal made with red chilis and chicken. It was three corn tortillas with iceberg lettuce and sour cream sauce on top. It was served with refried beans and rice. The chicken was moist and had good flavor with the chile sauce. Beans were good too. Overall, food was good but nothing out of this world. They had Spanish news playing on the tv. They also have a juke box that wasn't playing when I was there. It is a big menu with many options. Prices are standard....nothing cheap or expensive. read more

This is a little hole-in-the-wall Mexican place near the corner of Davie Blvd and State Road 7 (441) that serves decent Norteño food and cheladas at a good price. The music is always way too loud and the fluorescent lighting is way too bright. There always seem to be a few actual Mexican customers in here. There are booths, half of them filled with junk, and a bar area. I like the proprietress, who is always incredibly busy and seems to be the only person to serve you. The pozole was pretty good (they were out of menudo) and the enchiladas rojas were tasty. They do simple food here and it's really Mexican, not Tex-Mex, Cal-Mex, or Florida's own "Spanish and Mexican", which means Cuban-esque food with corn in it. I'll go back. read more

So living in Brazil menudo isn't available. Any chance I get I want to eat some. I came to visit a friend in Plantation, FL and found this place. I was excited to get some menudo, ordered, and received my bowl. I was used to a bowl with the red oil floating on top, with a whole bunch of spices float along with it. It's definitely dive Mexican (which I'm very fond of), so if you're not into that, then . . . seriously, who's not into dive Mexican???? You probably need to read the reviews on Chili's. Maybe Red Lobster for the mexi dip or something. . . The star of a japanese restaurant is the Tamago. The star of a chinese restaurant is the egg roll. The star of a mexican restaurant is menudo. Okay, these are my stars. My guides to whether or not a place knows how to cook. Sadly, this place didn't make it. Now, the tripe was clean (no little black hairs that stress me out if they are there). There was a fair amount of lip-stickiness (due to collagen). What it lacked, however, was flavor in the broth. Not sure if it was a chili thing, being too high in the pot, whatever it may be. But I sure was missing it. Would I come here again? Good question. Let me think on it. I would give a 0 if possible I ordered food for me and my family spent almost $150 and when the food was delivered the lid was not on the suit properly one soups slid was cracked the soup was half spilled in the back we ordered for fish taco platter and got for beef platters we don't eat beef call to try and get a corrected order but nobody actually speaks English so they can help us with that I would never go back there again in my life read more

Ladies are nice, the horchata was the best so far I have had in Florida. Food is priced very well!!! Big portions. Im very picky about Mexican food being its my fav and from San Diego California ... this spot us definitely a go to if u like real Mexican style food!
