We went back last weekend hoping for a better experience. We've eaten here before, and while those visits weren't amazing, they were good enough to give it another shot. The food is definitely authentic, but unfortunately this time around the experience fell short. The restaurant looks very run down--peeling paint, dents in the drywall, and scraped walls. The lack of upkeep really affects the atmosphere and makes you wonder about the rest of the operation. A little care and maintenance would make a big difference. We ordered three bean sopes and one asada taco and waited 55 minutes for our food. One of the sopes was incorrect, and throughout the entire wait, no one came by to check on us. This review isn't meant to bash the place, but to give others a heads-up and hopefully bring awareness to what's going on. There's potential here, but improvements are definitely needed. read more

Unlike other locations where 90% It's either powder or syrup here, they make everything from scratch. So if you're ordering horchata, it's made in small batches fresh from scratch . If you're ordering Jamaica. It's an actual flower, huge difference in taste. If you're tired of going to spots wear, it's all bougie. Food Looks good. But taste like crap. Hidden Gem. One of my good friends recommended me this spot and everything was amazing. The service was amazing. The food was great. I would recommend the quesadilla de carnitas. This is not your traditional quesadilla. Sopes de asada spot on amazing. The Asada de torta also highly recommend. We ordered tostada de tinga this one was good but probably would stick to the other food. They provide you with red and green sauce at the table and i recommend the green sauce especially for those who don't like spicy. I'm definitely coming back. read more

This place has so much potential. The recipes are good and the food is authentic. What I cannot let go of is how many times the meat here has tasted rancid. They charge a lot to add meat to dishes such gorditas and quesadillas, and I pay that with pleasure every time in hopes of getting a delicious item, but at least 4 out of the last few time I have ordered (I have been ordering since 2017!), I have gotten rancid-tasting carne asada, Carnitas, or pressed chicharron. The times weren't consecutive, so I kept hoping it wouldn't happen when I did order, but it kept happening. It is a great, yet disgusting experience at the same time to have such great recipes get ruined by something so gross. Also, I have ordered from them through Door Dash a lot in the past and love the posole, but they never fill the cup they send it in. I have had times when it is literally half way empty. Sending a 1/2 empty cup for nearly $30 is ridiculous. I visited them for the first time at the actual restaurant about a month ago with my friend and the waitress was very sweet, but the restaurant is very run down and unpleasant to be in and BOTH my friend and I had the same issue with the rancid-tasting meat. We didn't say anything. I just decided to stop trying to get a good experience out of this place anymore. I am disgusted and disappointed. Please do better, you have a lot of potential. read more

If you are in Riverside and looking for something great to eat you need to check out this place it will not disappoint! Anotojitos Mexicanos is the definition of what a Mexican restaurant should be. Yet it is overlooked and surpassed by many. It is a wonderful restaurant with such kind service and wonderful food. We ordered the Pambazos and a chicken quesadilla as well as a kids meal of chicken nuggets and fries. We got two agua frescas de piña and one of lemon. Our meal was delicious and quick to arrive. And the drinks were refreshing and so good! They have a huge selection in the menu and I can't wait to come back and try more of there amazing food. read more

Honestly sad to be writing this because me and my Fiance were super excited to try this place after we seen it on Instagram. We love supporting small businesses and the food looked authentic which caught our eye. However our experience was awful. We sat down at 6 pm and had to call our server to take our order after 20-30 minutes. We didn't even have drinks yet. Mind you, they were relatively busy so we weren't too upset at this point. We sat there for another hour and our server never came back to us. We had to pull another server to refill our chips, still no refills on our drinks and asked her to check on our food. By this time it was 7:28. She came back with the chips 5 minutes later and reassured us our food was almost ready. We sat there another 15 minutes and our original server finally remember we were there and said she would check on our food, yet again. She came back and told us they didn't have our order and blamed it on the cooks. We left after almost 2 hours of never being checked on, lied to and not even eating. No one offered any solutions and our server gave us stank face for leaving. We will not be back. read more

I believe this is my favorite place to walk for dinner! They have barbacoa and birria on the weekends. On a previous visit, I had a barbacoa taco and it was great! You get chips and salsa with every meal. So, you can have plenty to eat at a good price! I previously had a quesadilla, which I thought had interesting finishings. I also look forward to trying more options in the future, such as seafood! I feel bad that I don't know Spanish. However, I believe there is usually at least one person who can take your order in English. Either way, the staff are friendly. I certainly like having this restaurant in the community! read more

I've ordered this place two or three times by Doordash order until yesterday they have mess up my food. My mother and my stepdad went to the place to eat and my mom got the pozole to go for me to eat since I was sick. I was going to reheat the food in a pot and I notice the hominy was very little. It's has three or four piece of pork chunks, a lot of broth and very little of hominy. For $15 food I wouldn't fill me up. I got my refund back and I wound never come back to this place for pozole ever again. In Spanish He pedido este lugar dos o tres veces por orden de Doordash hasta ayer que arruinaron mi comida. Mi mamá y mi padrastro fueron al lugar a comer y mi mamá trajo el pozole para llevarme a comer ya que estaba enferma. Iba a recalentar la comida en una olla y noto que el maíz estaba muy poco. Menus should be updated or at least remove the ones posted here... Disregard menu shared in photos here... I ordered over the phone for pick up, arrive to pick up my food, and get charged a higher price, I ask about the price and show them the menu and price i saw here on Yelp and I'm told "that's an old menu" not in the mood to argue or anything, I was tired and hungry, and they seemed to be the closest Mexican spot still open (about to close but still took order for pick up) that had caldo de pollo. Hope it's good. One star for now, will update once I get back home and eat the caldo. Update- 10:15pm Got back home and ate the soup, it's a good soup, a lot of big chunks of chicken, few big chunks of veggies, rice... not used to having garbanzos in my caldo de pollo but good soup I would suggest the menus here with old prices be removed, or at least honor them when someone shows up expecting and ready to pay said price. Pros: Good chips and salsa The dishes I order are good (sope, quesadillas) Food seems fresh Their beans/chips aren't cooked with lard Cons: Service hit or miss. I've had very good service and other times not so much. However, what turned me off from this establishment is that on more than 2 separate visits, while dining in, I saw random people (seem to be friends or family of owners) walking in and out of the kitchen area multiple times. Also saw small children in and out of the kitchen area. This last time I ate there, a roughly 7-9 year old girl, who seemed to be the daughter of an employee who stopped in, was obviously sick (coughing constantly) walking in and out of the kitchen and hanging around the area where the salsa/chips are. She was touching the dishes where the chips /salsa were and I saw her cough directly over the salsa and that was the last straw for me. With random people in and out of the kitchen I'm not comfortable knowing the area is being kept clean. Really a cleanliness issue. Won't be coming back anymore. read more
