The owners are accessible and always attentive to make sure the customers are happy. I can't understand the rating though since the food and service is so good. Today my wife and I went out to grab something to eat at this little hidden gem in riverside, and we were both glad we did. Because as soon as we got inside our waitress greeted us. We then proceeded to sit down and the waitress named Ana took our order.Ana took the time to hear our special requests. And to my surprise the food came out just as I ordered which is kinda hard considering that I'm a picky person when it comes to eating. My husband had food envy once he seen my sons burrito (wet burrito with al pastor and red sauce) that I submitted another order right away. I ate the camaron a la diabla and it was perfect. One star is being polite. I am so disappointed in this place. It's dirty, the service is terrible! We came in on a sat afternoon about 11am the place wasn't too busy, there was 4 waitresses working.. they told us to sit where we wanted to .. ok. An older Mexican couple came in after us sat at the table next to us, was greeted, waited on, given menus drinks, chips & salsa while we just sat there. Right there should hv been our cue to leave. Then finally the waitress says someone will help u and walks away. Our waitress comes, we order our food& drinks immediately cus we already knw what we want & don't even need to look at a menu. .. now we wait two basket of chips later and not exaggerating but 45 min later we get our 2 carne asada quesadillas. (The food was jus alright.. nothing special, i thought the tortillas could hv been fresher, the food just seemed dry, i should hv jus cooked at home! The salsa was watered down and chips are greasy.)At this point i glanced and noticed that my husbands coke was empty and since i knew nobody was checking on us no time soon, i got up and went to the counter to ask for a new bottle of coke and served my husband myself. I come here with my dad occasionally when we are bored Friday or Saturday nights, ever since we moved to riverside which was about 3 years ago. Their food is always made as ordered so if you're STARVING and not willing to wait for your food to be prepared I wouldn't recommend it...my pops and I always call before we leave our house to place our order and reduce waiting time.... Today my mom, nephew and I went to try out the Antojitos Mexicanos food. What a great place for Antojitos. They have a good and extended variety of items to choose from. We order Shrimp Cocktail, Huitlacoche Quesadilla, and Asada Huarache all made fresh and the tortillas are house made delicious. Size is great and price not bad at all. The burrito was big, but the rice tasted like it was made with HIGHLY chlorinated water, I don't think they filter the water they cook with. The beans tastes weird, not like they were going bad, but weird, I don't even know how to describe them. I also ordered an Orchata, and it is not homemade or authentic, it felt like artificial flavoring. I saw they were preparing for a Valentine's day function and that they play live music. I did see a lot of people come and order food to go and a lot of people picking up food. Maybe I'm just too picky, but I was sadly disappointed. Great breakfast! I ordered the Huevos a la Mexicana and they did not disappoint. The beans and rice were also fresh and both with great flavor! I also ordered the licuado de platano (banana shake). It's topped with whipped cream & sugar...that's all I needed! The server is nice and attentive. Can't complain here.
