Overall this place was BS. Sorry to be harsh but not sorry. Reviews looked good. Ambiance was gonna be cool. Walked in it was chill, live music ... great... friendly cool waitress ... great. Ordered food ..waitress suggested a certain chicken sandwich , okay sure why not. Place was quiet at 650 on a sat nite. Again, cool ambiance, really chill, music and all. An hour goes by barely any food coming out of kitchen, told the waitress we're being patient but it's running thin. Waited an hour an 15 minutes no food.l except the small salad (that came with sandwich which never came). Ridiculous. We Walked out. Left money for the salad , way more than enough for the salad. The place is bullshit. Either say the food is gonna take an hour plus, your call, but no, they don't give a hoot. Could hear no movement in the kitchen. Only to be told only one "chef" on Staff. Still I could cook faster. Again this place ruined a great day on the river followed by a great winery nearby. This place blows ! As cute as it is , it blows. Maybe they could care less on ethnic or lgbtq too. Other places at the corner could've spent money at. They call it starving artist for a reason, we left starving. BS.

Eclectic, funky, cool on the outside and inside. There were lives tunes. A giant chalkboard menu of specials. Art all over the walls. And an Elvis Christmas tree. What's not to like? Got wings and a sandwich. Absolutely nothing fancy or gourmet but it works for a cold, rainy day in Stockton. *AND* for dirt cheap. Bathroom is tight so no fun for my big bum but it works too for a cold, rainy day in Stockton. Lol. Cook came out to talk to us. That was a nice touch. Just a chill kinda guy who looked like he much prefer hanging with the band than being stuck cooking. I would probably be the same.

The food is amazing and the price is right! Breakfast, lunch, and live music in a rockin' café setting! Take a break from the crowds in Lambertville & New Hope, and make your way about 10 minutes up the river to the best low-key meal this side of the Delaware where proprietor Tod the Mod will to bring you a most unforgettable experience "somewhere north of Nashville".

This historic location was a rest and play stop for literary and theater New Yorkers in the 20s and 30s and probably beyond -- check out the famous signatures and notes in the albums in the main living room. The owners keep a handful of rescued farm animals (pot-bellied pigs, mini ponies, goats), and it is clear they are well cared for. It is a busy place for big wedding events now, and so we like to stay during the week. It is very relaxing to walk around the grounds. We saw a giant heron in the pond and deer strolling. There are so many nice places to sit outside with a bottle of wine and a book or snacks. Rooms are very unique and comfortable. You have a lot of different personalities to choose from: lofts, cabins, barn spaces, etc. Many have jacuzzis which can provide your evening entertainment, lol. We have not eaten in the restaurant because our top restaurant on earth is very close by, but when it was closed, Josh gave us great recommendations. And he made a lovely tofu scramble for breakfast as a special request. One sweet touch: despite checking the room, we left without my spouse's expensive phone charger. Housekeeping found it and ran after us before we could drive off without it. She did not have to do that. Always tip your housekeeping staff. The extended Covid months have been very hard on inns, restaurants, and event spaces, and it must be stressful for them as things come back to life when so many events have been postponed. It is wonderful to be back out again. We will return -- a lot.

The Barley Sheaf is very serious about pandemic precautions, so masks are in full effect, and they'll walk you to your socially-distanced table in a beautiful, outdoor gardening setting. The inn itself is an architectural delight, as well, so you are surrounded by beauty on all sides. Service was pleasant and forthcoming. I wouldn't say that this is the finest level of dining, of course, you're not expecting EMP in the middle of Bucks County, but this is a good attempt, and people are pleasant and quite dignified. The guests were all well attired and the crowd is polite and kind. Food is of the adventurous character, which I enjoy. A lot of different flavor combinations (they like to do salé and sucré), beautiful plating, interesting textures, and good cooking techniques. My favorites were the octopus appetizer (so buttery soft and tender, which is a rarity) and the pheasant special, which was a pleasant and apropos surprise in this outdoor, country setting. Finally, this is a BYOB restaurant with perfectly selected wine glasses, fine silverware, and other special touches such as a freshly starched linens, etc. which elevate the dining experience.

Bed and pillows were so comfy and I enjoyed the large bathtub. Unfortunately I don't recommend food options in this area. Go to new hope or Lambertville NJ. The dinner at the hotel was really not good especially for the price but the views and ambiance were lovely. The breakfast at the next door market was also quite poor quality. Hotel feedback: it would be nice to offer bath salts or bubbles. It would be a game changer to offer a full English breakfast at the restaurant for hotel guests. I tried to have keurig coffee since I didn't like the market coffee but the machine was very dirty which turned me off completely.

The river view was fantastic and relaxing. The presentation of the food was class A as you can tell from the photos that I added. We had a cheese plate for an appetizer that was generous and all of the cheese was quite tasty. For an entree, I had the St. Charleston Meeting Street Crab. It was perfect The chunk crab was perfectly cooked in a cream sauce with an au gratin sauce. It was both presented well and quite tasty. This dish by itself would be 5 stars. The staff was attentive but not overly so. Everyone was friendly and quite willing to engage in light banter. The staff would also get 5 stars. The only reason that I gave this restaurant 4 stars instead of 5 was dessert. I usually stay on a low carb diet but I decided to treat myself to a dessert for this occasion. I ordered the "Warm Apple Tart." Unfortunately, it was not warm and the apples were pretty much flavorless. I would not order this dessert again. The bottom line is the Black Bass Hotel is a solid choice and the atmosphere cannot be beat if you get a riverside table. The portions are generous and the food is quite good. We will definitely be back.

There were definitely some hits and misses with this visit…read more The freshly squeezed orange juice was delicious, although there were two sizes listed and I wasn't asked which size I wanted--I was simply charged for the larger one. The service was quick, and there is both indoor and outdoor seating, which is a nice option. However, the order wasn't checked before it was brought out, so it arrived incomplete. The home fries were bland and came with raw peppers, which I wasn't expecting- should have been sautéed so the texture matched the potatoes. The French dip was unfortunately overcooked and dry, with a ton of onions that weren't mentioned on the menu (HUGE ISSUE bc he's allergic to onions!) We also requested horseradish sauce on the side, but it never came out. The cranberry-orange turkey salad was tasty, but the portion was on the small side. I substituted the turkey for the Southern crispy chicken, which came with an additional charge, and honestly, it wasn't worth the upcharge. Overall, there were some good elements, especially the fresh orange juice and salad, but several details could have been better. Quick service and a nice seating setup, but the food and attention to the order left something to be desired.

First, the restaurant is so cute. It's like you're transported to a teahouse! The staff are really friendly, and they let you know immediately that everything is farm to table. The eggs were a deep yellow so I knew it was the truth. If you go, definitely order the biscuits and the mimosa flight. The biscuits comes with 4 different spreads (fig jam, peach butter, strawberry butter, and a brown sugar butter). The biscuits were a good size, and my favorite spread was the fig jam. I wish I could have put some in a jar. The mimosa flight flavors are so fun. I was not a fan of the soursop but the lychee and passionfruit are really good. For the main dish, we tried the chicken & waffle and the tres leches French toast. The chicken was seasoned perfectly and was crispy. The French toast was actually on a croissant. The wines were perfectly paired and we really enjoyed them all. The Nizzi Barbera was notable. Service was great and Gail was excellent providing history and explanations of all the wines.
