Called for a pickup order and then was left on hold for at least 10 minutes and waited to some bad jazz music only for the guy who picked up my call to yell, "Pickup?" into the phone and then put me on hold for another five minutes after I said yes. When I finally talked to the worker again after being held on the phone, he yelled if I was sure if I still wanted to do a pickup order. When I was finally assisted I asked if their margarita pizza had sliced tomatoes on it (some pizza places do not put actual tomato slices on their margarita pizza), in which he replied with a pretentious laugh and then said, "yeah it has tomato on it?" to which I asked again if it was tomato slices or tomato sauce. He then got really defensive and loud towards me for asking again. He then yelled into the phone "I know what a tomato slice is buddy! I'm looking at one right now" with an condescending tone. I had to mute the phone because I was so flabbergasted by his response to my question, I didn't even realize how rude he was being. I quickly replied nevermind and hung up, to which he had the AUDACITY to try and call my number back several times in the span of 1 min. Extremely poor customer service, really disappointed because I wanted to eat their food that day. Nevermind them, I recommend Fratello's Pizza in Hopewell. My craving for pizza seems to always be satisfied when I hit up Antonella's. It has been this way for years. I have tried other pizzerias in the area, but they just can't seem to meet the same quality and taste that Antonella's has! For this visit, we drove more than an hour out of our way specifically to eat here. That's how much this place means to us. We ordered two mushroom slices, a white slice, and a cheese slice, and every bite reminded us why we've been talking about this pizza for more than twenty years. The slices are huge, loaded with fresh ingredients, and somehow manage to hold their shape perfectly. No floppy crust. No toppings sliding off. Just classic New York pizza done exactly right. In fact, Emiliano's is our gold standard pizza pie. Every other pizza we eat gets measured against it. The mushroom slices were generously topped and packed with flavor. The cheese slice was everything a New York slice should be: simple, balanced, and delicious. The white slice was outstanding as well. While we waited, the owner even brought us a complimentary piece of fried dough, which was a thoughtful and very appreciated gesture. What really stands out, though, is the atmosphere. Service was prompt and genuinely friendly. It seemed like everyone who walked through the door knew somebody. There's a strong sense of community here that feels increasingly rare these days. More than twenty years after we first became customers, Emiliano's is still everything we remembered it to be. Affordable, welcoming, and serving what we consider the best pizza around.
