We stopped by Wood Fired AMA Kitchen & Bar after a fun day of apple picking nearby, and it turned out to be a great choice. The staff was warm and welcoming, and they went out of their way to accommodate our large group of eleven, which was much appreciated. I was admittedly a little distracted watching my New York Yankees get mollywhopped by the Blue Jays on TV, so I forgot to snap a picture of the bread strips served with marinara sauce. But they were a pleasant surprise ; warm, soft, and perfect for dipping into that flavorful sauce. For my main dish, I ordered the L'Americano burger. It wasn't the best burger I've ever had, but it was still really enjoyable and satisfying. The fries on the side were classic and hit the spot. All in all, I had a really good time here. Waited for an hour before my order was cancelled because it was then reported as closed. A wonderful experience. Delicious food. My bolognese pasta was fantastic! The sauce was flavorful and filled with meat. My uncle's spaghetti was ok. The sauce was too sweet for me. I sampled the salad my uncle had ordered and that was wonderful! The greens were good and the lemon dressing was so light and perfect. My aunt had the seafood pasta, and she always raves about it. The desserts were the perfect ending as well. Overall it all delivered well. Next time I'd like to try the pizza. The interior was pretty cool. I loved the lighting, bar area, and black ceiling. The whole ambiance was put together with tall windows and beautiful, simple curtains. The staff was fantastic. They were so friendly and worked hard. If we encountered a problem it was taking care of. Advice: Do not have employees/owners/ staff smoke out front. When we pulled in the same older gentleman was smoking out front, then once while we were eating and then again as we pulled away. Despite being a Beaconite and able to walk to the one on Main Street, we opt to drive to this location far more frequently. The menu is much larger and more interesting - the pastas are solid. One of my dining compatriots even went way off brand once and had a burger and the review (positive) was surprising! While AMA isn't full on Italophile Italian, it is excellent hybrid Italophile/Italian American. The pizzas are great (be prepared for a liberal dose of garlic, which is never a bad thing in my book.) Pipi caccio Pepe so thick, and tasteless , looked more like a bad Alfredo sauce, not worth it. Special of the night, Pork Loin was the only one dish, more or less good, yet overpriced for the three little slices of pork over a bed of spinach. Gnocchi Sorento also kind of tasteless and heavy sauce. Teramisu desert was just ok. I hate giving such a bad review, but I have to be honest and that's my take. My husband and I stumbled upon this place during the weekday and it wasn't busy. The staff gave us recommendations and were very rapid in attending our order. The place isn't too huge but very spacious. Very classy decor. For two people, we shared the truffle pizza. I wish they had larger sizes only because I was immediately in love with the way this pizza was baked. It was like no one pizza I ever had; definitely shareable for two people for less than $25. There are a lot of wine options and desserts which we will definitely check out next time. This place is beautiful-in the strip mall by Farm to Table -go to AMA! The staff were all friendly and very attentive. We were only here for pizza, which was delicious (they're basically individual pizzas), but definitely will go back with friends for dinner. Coming from Staten Island, we can be particular about our food, but we absolutely loved this restaurant. The staff was warm, friendly, and very accommodating. TERRIBLE! We ordered our appetizer and lunch waiter came over about 8 minutes later and said the pizza guy was stuck in traffic and the boss was on the phone with him. Appetizer brought out (cold and way overcooked) no mention of pizza guy so I asked waiter said no he's not going to be here. Lunch served lukewarm and zero taste. Check came they charge for soda refills ! We questioned the waiter oh yeah they started that in January. $3.00 for a glass of soda filled with ice. When we left owner outside smoking didn't say thank you or sorry about the pizza guy. Will NEVER patronize this establishment again. If they care about customers they should've done something about us not being able to get pizza. After all that's the specialty! And $64 for 1 appetizer and 1 entree 3 sodas! TERRIBLE! The pizzas are so good and fresh. The burrata and octopus are also really good. The drinks are usually strong (which I love lmao). I went yesterday with a friend and tried their pasta "pistachio" for the first time and I am in love. It was sooo good. This place has more of an upscale vibe/atmosphere to it! It was delightfully creamy and the pasta itself was thick and filling. They definitely excel in pizzas- their Pesto & Burrata pizza was amazing. I've driven by this place many times and never stopped in because I assumed it was another pizza place. I was wrong! I heard so many good things about it, and we were looking for a place to eat that we hadn't tried, so we headed over. As soon as I walked in, we were greeted by lots of friendly faces. The decor is beautiful inside and not "another pizza place" but a beautiful restaurant with fantastic service and excellent food! Our waiter, Jorge, was a gem. He made the experience so special that we can't wait to go back! We ended up having the specials and started with a delicious soup with this yummy bread on top. And speaking of bread, the one they put on the table was SO good; I could have sat there just eating that! I imagine the pizza they make is probably on this yummy bread, so I will be back to try one! I had a pesto risotto with shrimp for my entree, and my husband had a pork dish. Both were flavorful and beautifully presented. The drink specials were terrific too! Visited this place during the summer season after a hike. I can say, I have had the best pizza ever. The crust was so good. I could have eaten 2-3 pizzas in a go if I had that appetite. I wanted to have some sweet drink and the they customized the mojito. And the final course, chocolava cake. Even though I did not have the space left in my stomach, I ate the whole cake. Came here for the first time with family as a group of 6, the day after Christmas for dinner. Most of us got pizza and one got salmon. They were all delicious. We also got a bottle of wine for the table and desserts in the end. Everything was very good and it was a nice environment. Waiter was great and the prices were very reasonable. We had three tables arrive after us and all 3 finished before our entrees were finally delivered. My husband's dinner was delivered under cooked. In over 2 hours we left hungry and annoyed. The manager or owner didn't bother stopping by when we voiced our frustration and complaint. We had a party of 20 here a few weeks ago and we were all served and done in the same time. Delicious, impressive, and lovey sum up my experience at AMA Wood Fired Kitchen. Dined here on 7/7/2020 for an early dinner and we sat at the bar. Although I mostly focus on the food when both choosing and reviewing restaurants, I was so highly impressed by both the ambiance and service I have to mention it. Our bartender was perfectly attentive , informative , and pleasant. The bar was beautiful, well spaced out (covid19) and the view of both the wood fire oven and kitchen gave it that special ambiance. We ordered cocktails to start and my strawberry basil Moscow muel was very well made. Now for the important part: the FOOD. Everything we ordered was creative, fresh, and delicious. Their website claims that most of their ingredients are sourced from Naples Italy, and as someone who is extremely picky when it comes to Italian food they certainly seemed to deliver on that statement. We ordered the "Maialino Tonnato" appetizer, the Prosciutto & Rucola pizza, and the "Spaghetti Granchio" Primi Maialino Tonnato--a thinly sliced pork tenderloin with "tuna sauce". The meat melted in my mouth and the sauce (made of mayo, capers, lemon, and olive oil) complemented it perfectly adding some brightness without overpowering the flavor of the meat itself. Highly recommend for a light yet unique appetizer. Pizza--Can't really go too wrong with a pizza topped with prosciutto, arugula, and mozzarella. Except when the pizza itself is just not a good pizza, which is usually the result of bad dough/crust and bad sauce. Thankfully that was not the case here!! This dish was simple but perfectly executed, dough just the right thickness and crispy without being over done and the tomato sauce tasted as any good sauce should. Ingredients were fresh: it was hard to stop eating it as to not fill up before the main dish! Spaghetti Granchio-- We has a hard time deciding on which pasta dish to try, but ended up going with this one consisting of crabmeat, olive oil, onion, brandy, tomato, and crushed red pepper. I asked to have the red pepper on the side as I can not handle spice very well but my dad loves it. The spaghetti came out beautifully presented and cooked perfectly al dente. The sauce was creamy and smooth, and most impressively did not overpower the flavor of the crab. There was no need to even add any Parmesan cheese or salt as I usually do to pasta dishes! Overall I have nothing negative to say about my experience at this establishment and highly recommend to anyone looking for a great foodie spot in the area. read more

Sigh. I wish I could provide a 5-star review and say I love this place, but I simply cannot. I've dined here twice over the past two months and love the ambiance, but that is the only thing I can say was enjoyable. The first experience I had a special of the day which was focaccia. One component was truffle oil which you could sense, but they definitely used a very minimal amount for it being the feature of the dish. I also ordered cacio e pepe, which is not on many local menus and as someone who has lived in Italy I am always excited to see it on a menu around the 845. It was, well, very pepper-y, but tolerable. Cacio e pepe is usually strong, but it was a bit overhanded with the pepper. I also ordered a cocktail [and I never met a cocktail that I didn't like], but there was something off-setting about it. Not terrible, but not great. My main issue with this first visit was the overall vibe. The waiter was kind and educated on the menu, but there was another woman present who was clearly not a waitress, but maybe a manager? There was also another worker around the bar area. I was there during lunch time and it was completely empty. There were a few moments where I caught the woman and this worker near the bar whispering and looking over at my table. Of course not being able to hear I cannot confirm if what they were saying was in bad spirits or not. It just was not a comfortable feeling to see two people eyeing you and then slightly giggling. I am not sure what the issue could have been as it was just my mother and I dining, but it made us feel unsettled. Now onto the second visit. We came again with another friend to give the place another go. The same "chuckling" manager from last time was there and a different waitress. I gave the cacio e pepe another go and this time it had even MORE pepper. Oh my goodness it was spicy and burning my mouth because of the amount of pepper. Like an insane amount of pepper and I love pepper. It was essentially 20% cacio and 80% pepe. Definitely not like Italy. As if that wasn't enough, we sat at a table with a perfect view of the kitchen. With that being said, the chef was staring at me the whole time. At first I was unfazed and figured he was just glancing around, but after awhile it just became overly creepy where every time I looked over he was just staring. I found it so disrespectful and uncomfortable. There's a big difference between casually and naturally looking at someone versus giving predator vibes. Maybe that explains all the pepper in the food. I doubt you can cook properly when your eyes are fixated on someone for majority of the time. I am always holding small events and do a bit of influencer work, so I love finding great places in the area and usually have little to no complaints, but I was truly disappointed both times. It's one of the few modern looking restaurants in the area, but the food and hospitality is not up to par. read more

We are local-ish and came across AMA after a quick yelp search for something new. We were greeted by a very friendly Jens upon entering. The ambiance is chic but comfortable and the menu is large enough to accommodate but not be overwhelming. We were given delicious bread sticks and dip while we ordered our drinks and the ordered a margherita pizza. We realized we would be a last-minute 4-top and Jens and our waitress Ashley handled it without a pause and held our entrees. The pizza was good, probably a 6.5/10. The crust was the best part but the sauce could have used a little oomph. Next time we would order a specialty pie for sure. Once our friends arrived we all ordered different entrees: the salmon, the Lebanese burger, pork medallions and Scoglio. Everything was brought out at once and everyone raved about their meals. Despite the full bellies we were promised that the dessert donut was delicious and we weren't disappointed but the chocolate soufflé really stole the show. I would however pass on the espresso as it is guaranteed to keep you up for a week or more. Also, shout out the Darlene for the great drinks and banter. The whole staff enhanced the experience which is something we- as self-proclaimed foodies- look for in a great restaurant.
