I really wanted to like Antonella's more. It's near Piersaull House and I'm a huge Italian food fan. I sat at the bar and the bartender was very nice. Several locals were there and making conversation. It's a very clean establishment and well appointed. Unfortunately, the food was not up to par. I ordered mussels marinara with linguine and a Stella Artois. I asked for the linguine al dente. The small salad served before the meal was fresh and tasty, and the blue cheese dressing was very good. A small basket of bread also arrived. The Italian bread was good, but the garlic knots lacked garlic and salt. When my main course arrived, the plate was loaded with mussels, but not very much pasta. It was cooked perfect Al dente though. I can look past the lack of linguine, but the real problem was the marinara. It lacked seasoning and was just not tasty. If there is anything that must be good in an Italian place, it's the marinara. In the closing scene of Goodfellas, Henry Hill is lamenting small town life and states, "Right after I got here I ordered some spaghetti with marinara sauce and I got egg noodles and ketchup." Now the sauce is that bad, but it's not far off. The mussels were good, but a bit on the smallish side. I did finish the plate, but doubt I will order the dish here again. I will return, as I believe every place deserves a second shot. I will try the Chicken Française next time. read more

As a resident of Hyde Park for the last 30 years I have never received such horrible service. Yes it was a Saturday night but we arrived at 5:15pm and there were only 2 tables besides our table. We had a party of four ordered our appetizers, which came out very quickly. We order our meals while waiting for our apps. The apps stuffed mushrooms and fried squid were ok. Now here is where things went down hill. At 6:20pm we still did not have our main courses so I asked the server if our food was put it. He said he put it in for the third time. Finally at 7:05 our food was given to another table and then they realized it was ours. My wife, my mother, father and I are not ones to complain about food or service but this was just crazy. My wife takes a few bites of her wrap and a huge piece of plastic was in it. I then figured I would speak to the manager. When I spoke to the manager about the entire situation his answer was do you see how busy I am (points to the stack of receipts) it happens. I said well then we won't be back, his answer fine don't come back. I have been to every restaurant in Hyde Park several times and many others around and have never seen a staff that is so dysfunctional. The server we had was great but everything else was not. We did not even eat a quarter of our meals and I asked for the check. The manager then very snotty says you want your food for free I said no I just want you to know the experience we had. He says well alot of other people feel differently and I have been here for 12 years. I asked to speak to the owner and I was told that one of the cooks left and the owner was in the back cooking and was to busy. As a local business supporter and a former retail manager for 15 years I could only imagine how I would feel if one of my customers was treated like this. We will never visit this establishment again and I will be sure to spread the word. read more

Great food, great prices. They accept Marist Money, which is fantastic for a special night out when you don't have any cash on hand. They don't complain about special orders, and the service is great. I love this place and want to take a special someone there soon. read more

Antonella's is one of my usual haunts. I mostly go to the bar to hang out with my friends. Al, the bartender is a great guy, real friendly and attentive. The owners, Tony and Sal, usually cook our meals which many owners would not do. All the staff are friendly and polite, especially considering they are all like 18 year old boys. The food is consitently good (not quite great). The Margharite pizza is really good, the wings are just ok. The dinners and lunches are always fast, warm, and tasty. My husband and I are moving from Beacon to Hyde Park soon, so we figured we'd better start vetting the local restaurants to scope out our future favorites. Antonella's was the first on our list after a few people recommended their pizza. My husband ordered plain slices and sausage&pepper slices, and I had the chicken marsala dinner. The free garlic knots and warm bread were a nice touch, although the knots were a lot smaller than what we're used to. The chicken marsala was very tender and flavorful, but the portion was also smaller than we're used to. Hubs loved the pizza though, so that was a winner. He ranked it #3 underneath Pleasant Ridge and Brothers in Beacon. The service was fast and friendly, and the prices were good. The only issue I had was that the pits were left in the olives in my salad and I almost lost a tooth. Other than that, great place! read more

Nice Italian place near the FDR home and the Vanderbilt home, sitting in the middle of a small mall. Not the classiest place or the best ambiance but a good Italian sit down meal for sure with a good menu of veal, chicken and pasta dishes. Very disappointed in Antonella's Hyde Park. We've been going there for years! My daughter and I always get whole wheat pasta with our dinner entrees. Tonight they refused to give us whole wheat pasta unless we bought an additional pasta dinner for $17. I was willing to pay a surcharge but they still refused. We were on our way home from Connecticut so ordered from Antonella's in Wappingers. They couldn't be more pleasant and were thrilled to have a $70 dinner order to go. Hyde Park couldn't have cared less when we called to cancel the order. We will not be returning to Hyde Park. read more

I had the Chicken marsala. It was really good. Not GREAT, but tasty nevertheless. Some of the other dishes like the ones with marinara sauce didn't look that great. But the people that we were with said they were fine. I would go with the chicken Marsala. As well, it was great with french fries instead of pasta. I asked for french fries with chicken marsala gravy over them and everything was fantastic. It's certainly far from the CIA, was fine as a Relatively inexpensive alternative choice. read more

Where to begin. The bartender doubled as a waiter. The bus boy was sullen--I'd be too! The tables lack even placemats. The first course of stuffed clams was gritty with shell. My veal piccata still had fresh flour on it and tasted of same. My companion had some way out version of chicken scarpariello consisting of chicken slices. Stopped in for lunch. Servers and bus boy were very nice, but food was poor. Started with chicken wings. They were fatty and not cooked thoroughly and seemed like they weren't fresh. They did take this item off our bill. My husband ordered the carbonara special and it was a small portion of penne a few bits of shallots and peas with some cream sauce. Very salty and pretty tasteless. I ordered a veal and peppers hot sub sandwich. More green peppers than veal on a roll that was burnt. We love Italian food and aren't big complainers. Food is good, Service not so much. If your open till 10pm don't tell me at 9pm that its too late for a delivery. I never understood any business in America that turns down the opportunity to make money, especially in a customer service industry. If someone walked into my business & yes I own my own business, even one minute before I closed the door. I would stay as late as it takes to close the sale. I was feeling like takeout last night and as I usually do I order from GrubHub,an online service that allows me to order from many restaurants and pay online, even the tip. As I looked at the list of restaurants, I saw a new addition.. Antonella's. I frequently use the CVS in Hyde Park and always wanted to try them, but never made it around to it. So I ordered a meatball sub- you can often find out all you need to know about an Italian restaurant by the quality of the meatballs. If you get the pre packaged type,it ain't a real Italian restaurant. I also ordered some garlic bread. So my food arrived and I dug into it. The meatballs were big and delicious, definitely home made! And the garlic bread was superb! Most places use a commercial garlic spread,not here! Real chopped garlic and I believe more than one type of cheese. Best I have ever had, and that's saying a lot. I definitely will order again and try the pizza and pasta. If you have never tried Antonella's, I suggest you do. It's the real deal read more

Let's jump back to the 28th of May in 2019. My family and I were in the middle of a 6 hour road trip coming from the north east, when we had a hankering for a hearty, family style Italian meal. Our prayers were answered when we stumbled upon 4246 Albany Post Rd, Hyde Park NY. To be quite honest, we initially were not expecting much, as we hadn't looked up any reviews or pictures from the place: we simply wanted a meal. However, all expectations would soon become exceeded. My family and I were sat down in the dining room, and the servers promptly greeted us with bread and butter and took our drink orders. I'm not sure who the bartender is, but they make the best sazerac I've ever had. To start, we indulged on the Fried Calamari. Keep in mind, I've travelled the world trying Fried Calamari, and this stacks up with the rest of the world. Absolutely mouthwatering, and I still think about it today! For the entree, I had to go with an Italian classic, the Chicken Parmesan. As someone who frequently visits Arthur Avenue in the Bronx, the cooks in the kitchen can go toe-to-toe with those in the Bronx. The marinara sauce was quite possibly the most delicious I've ever had the privilege to enjoy, and the chicken was perfectly cooked: perfectly tender and moist! My wife elected to try the Zappa Di Pesce, and boy was the entire table jealous! I'm not sure where they source their clams and mussels, but we were stunned as to how fresh it tasted. So delicious! Our 3 children split a plain cheese pie, and I would be lying if I said Mommy and Daddy didn't steal a couple bites! One bite everyone knows the rules, and I can confidently say the pizza at Antonella's is the best I've ever had in the Hudson Valley. We would have loved to try dessert, but we were far too full to even go down that road. All-in-all, we will ABSOLUTELY be coming back next time we make a trip to the Hudson Valley. Great service, great drinks, and great food. You simply cannot go wrong dining here. read more

I stoppedin because I was a longtime customer of the Fishkill location. I moved to Hyde Park in 2017, I am finally trying this place. I walked in and a female server told me to pick a seat and she would bring me a menu. I waited like five minutes before a busboy put garlic knots 9n the table, when I asked h8m for a menu. That was when the server came over and asked me for my drink order. She had the busboy bring it to me. I sat ther for at least ten minutes while the server filled drinks and had the busboy bring it 5o the kitchen area. By this time, I still have not given my order, and there was only one table with two ladies finishing up their meal. I walked out, telling the server who was wiping down an empty bar that I touched nothing and was leaving. I am not coming back to this location ever again! read more

Such a disappointment. I was recommended to this restaurant. My friends said that the pizza was great. I could not disagree more. They did not have the pizza that my friend recommended. "Each restaurant has their own menu, and we don't have ranch dressing. I know weird huh" was what our waitress said. I ordered the pizza margarita with fresh mozzarella and fresh basil. There were literally 6 small. Patches of fresh cheese and that was it. The crust was great but no toppings. Again when I asked the waitress it was because of what we ordered. Hyde Park Antonella's : Where can I begin? The garlic knots were burnt and my son who usually loves them only ate the insides of the knots b/c that was the only part that was edible. The salad: plate of lettuce on it's last leg. It had a bite to it and my son and I immediately noticed it was not very good - "something is wrong with the salad" was his exact words. There was not a tomato, a crouton, olive or anything other than lettuce on the plate, which looked like it was served on a bread plate btw. Dinner: Dinner was the best part and that was pretty bad too. The raviolis were expensive and you only get about 6 on a plate. The sauce wasn't very good and they tasted like frozen raviolis. The chicken franchise - also expensive was served over the pasta rather than in a separate plate so the restaurant served much less of it. It was scarce. The chicken was overcooked and rubbery and had the texture of being cooked in a microwave. It was not breaded properly b/c it looked grilled and did not present like franchise at all. The chicken was small - they were the size of tenderloins but smaller b/c they were thin little cutlets (3 of them) which didn't even equal one chicken cutlet in most other restaurants. They were the size of medallions. It's really too bad b/c I have eaten at Antonella's in Wappingers (by Kohls) and they do such an excellent job of presentation and cooking. But even though this is a "chain" owned by three brothers it seems they do not operate as a unit. Antonella's in Hyde Park was TERRIBLE. The one good thing is that the waitress had our chicken franchise reimbursed so they do have good customer service and the waitress was very nice. I still could never recommend or eat there again. read more

The Penne alla Vodka is delicious, with lots of prosciutto, and the garlic knots are the best I've ever had. The Salmon di Fore is also very good. All the food is extremely fresh with no taste or texture of "frozen and warmed up". I wish the rest of my family in Hyde Park liked this place as much as I do. read more

Moved up here 6 years ago from Long Island. We had been trying to find a good pizza place and had tried MANY over the years. I had just about given up and was convinced we would never find one in the Hudson Valley, until Antonella's! What a pleasant surprise! My fiance and I came here for dinner after a nice scenic walk at the Vanderbilt Mansion. We had never been here before, and didn't know what to expect. We opted to sit in the bar area, and the staff was highly attentive and friendly. The food was spectacular. (I had the salad with breaded chicken- closer to an antipasti with chicken. Fiance had chicken parm sub.) we also ordered an order of cheesy garlic bread as an appetizer that cost $2 and was big enough to feed at least four people. With $2.50 draft beers, great food, and friendly service, how can you really go wrong? read more

We love this place! My boys order the personal pizzas and occasionally the ziti with meatballs. Both are excellent. My husband and I often order the specials and have never had a bad meal at this place! We have also used them for catering and the quality of the food cannot be beat. The prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere in the restaurant is great. There is a real home-town vibe with regulars eating at the bar whenever you come in. I cannot say enough good things about this place. This is our go-to for quality Italian food when I do not want to cook! read more

Has been great for years....but...not long ago had an untypically bad takeout meal. Well, it was just the once--these things can happen. Then, the other night, the worst pizza my wife or I could remember having, ever, in our whole lives. We had fun comparing it to other bad experiences before dumping it. This may be something temporary gone wrong in their kitchen, but we don't plan to try them again. I tried phoning the manager, but he said he was too busy to hear a complaint.
