Ordered the Six Chicken Strips. Received 4 & 1/2 with a few burnt pieces that the restaurant felt was an acceptable replacement for the 6

Food is decent, but they always forget a piece of the order when delivering food to the house.

I was told to order the #4 or the Vodka Chicken Parm hero. Ended up walking out with over $350 worth of food because I was so blown away. I'm not really sure where to begin: first of all as an Italian, walking into the restaurant already felt like home. I was blown away from the fresh made pasta's, various sauces I could take home, Arancini's (rice balls), and then how could I say no to the desserts. I was in heaven. I had a great conversation with the fabulous ladies behind the counter. I'm pretty sure everyone behind me picking up orders were like "can this guy leave already?". But I just had to continue chatting with everyone. The ladies helped me get everything from around the store that my heart desired. And then I remembered, I was supposed to come in and get a sandwhich. They showed me the screens mounted on the walls which clearly had a custom ordering template built out from the store with all the modification elements to add/remove toppings as needed. Blown away again. I'm a technology salesperson and that part hit a different satisfaction for me as they had this down - and quite honestly the Italian market/pork store is not where I'm expected the highest level of technology lol. Just blown away. Lastly, I told them about my fiancée and how her family owns DelFiore's pork store down on Long Island. At that point they grabbed Fabio, the owner, and we had an amazing conversation as I learned he knew exactly what DelFiore's was and even offered to help give us advice if we ever want to get into the family business. I was supposed to go in and get a rocking $25-$30 sandwhich and I walked out with $350 worth of food because I was being assisted by some of the nicest people I've ever met in the food industry. Just the most genuine caring people. Mind you, I had to schlep all of this back to Brooklyn NY in a Suburu Outback rental. And if you are wondering if everything stayed in the trunk on that drive back, fughetaboutit. I'm popping arancini's like candy on the Taconic home (no small feet with those turns). These people are in the food business because they care about making people's days and giving them the best possible food. Protect these people at all costs. This is a Mecca for quality Italian provisions. I'll be grabbing my fiancée and heading back up so we can continue chatting with everyone and not holding the lines up. 11/10 experience I'm blown away if you couldn't already tell. Just take my money, I can't pay enough for such enjoyable days. That drive home sucked at rush hour, but they all made it worth it. I like to think I gave them all a little enjoyment as well :). Admittedly, I fall a lot closer to the latter, but I appreciate the juxtaposition. According to the sign outside, they specialize in fresh dressed game birds, undoubtedly sourced by the group of guys running the attached gun shop (which is also decorated by some local taxidermist). I can't understand why they have a photo of that reality TV star that used to fire people up on the wall, but that's neither here nor there. The staff did seem annoyed that we wanted to spend way too much money getting sandwiches and groceries with them, but at least they were efficient, and the selection is eclectic and fun. They've got fresh wild turkey eggs, a surprisingly great selection of cheese, all kinds of house-cured meats, as well as the standard array of deli meats with which they'll make you some pretty decent sandwiches. There's also all sorts of sauces, jams, pickled pineapple (!) local honey, beer, cider, some bizarrely priced minced dried onion...I had a blast poking around and overpaying for a random assortment of edible delights (although some were more delightful than others). I'd like to come back with more of a plan to try their poultry, or at least some fresh ground beef, the bacon, and more.

We ordered a hot honey pizza, a margarita pizza, an Arugula Salad and a Mediterranean Salad. The salads were fantastic!! They are also large in size. I tried both salads and I'm not sure I have a favorite. The ingredients were fresh. The margarita pizza was so good! The crust was flavorful and thin. The basil was so fresh. It was a great. The hot honey was good as well. There may have been too much honey on the pizza, but that's just my opinion. I had ordered a coke. It came in a bottle. I did ask for a cup with ice. Just ask I ordered that the waiter quickly said, oh we don't have that here or offer that here. I was so confused. Very. I wondered if this was a really York thing? Or was this because they don't have ice? I have no idea. But that was just so strange. It could be that maybe they only have chilled bottle beverages. One thing that I was not too happy about was when our waiter left to go get coffee at the local cafe near by. We were sitting there waiting for him to come back to get boxes and help us wrap up our lunch. He was MIA, and we as a party of 4 just sat there. All the other staff were in the back area. I could see their reflection from the mirror. Then a female employee was around. So after getting my own boxes but getting up and grabbing them off a cart, we asked her for help. I'd say 20 minutes goes by and our waiter return walking in the front door holding the coffee on a carrier. It looked like he was trying to hide it. So we were not happy with that. My aunt and uncle do plan to return since the pizza was good. I would as well.

The menu is a bit limited to 2 appetizers, a handful of salads, and a variety of 9 pizzas, with a greater variety of toppings offered. Yes, it's pricey. You don't go to Eastdale expecting a bargain. When I looked online prior to visiting, it appeared that they also offered some dessert, but I also had absolutely no room left for dessert. Drinks are basic beers/wines and sodas. I would skip the rose next time. I paid $11 for a single glass when a bottle retails for $13.99, but that's true of any restaurant. We started out with the cheese/olives/meat and jam app, which was really plentiful for 3 people. For pizzas, we had the grana Padano pie and added pepperoni and the Hot Honey pie. Both pies were absolutely delicious and were more than enough for two adults and one child. Before ordering, we asked how big the pies are, so they gave us a good estimate. One pie would not have been enough. The pies are bigger than personal sized pizzas, but they are not as large as a typical carry out pizzeria pizza. Overall, the food was really delicious, and the pizzas were perfectly cooked, and the hot honey pie was absolutely fantastic. It was a great mix from the salty meat, the sweet/hot honey and the roasted garlic. When we are in the mood for sit down, slightly more upscale pizza, we will definitely return.
