Been a customer over 50 years and I'm not ready to call it quits yet. Never before until recently, have I had a bad experience at this restaurant! After lunch rush, nobody here except a lady reading a book in the corner. I ordered a sandwich twenty minutes ago. I can hear lots of laughter and carrying on in the kitchen, but no sandwich in sight. The last time I was here, everything was fine, but the time before that, 3 months ago, the sandwich was greasy and not made correctly. I recommend that you hire a secret shopper and/or have an investor hang around for a couple of days. Update: 30 minutes in! Maybe they missed my order! Update: a girl just popped out of the kitchen and said, "what was your order?" 45 minutes in.just received out order only for the neighboring table told the waitress when she brought them spaghetti that they had ordered cheese bread and ordered it as an appetizer! I wanted to try a local Italian restaurant, so I decided to go to Antone's. It is small and quaint. The restaurant was clean and I was greeted immediately. I ordered the cheese ravioli with meat sauce. I got my order within 15 minutes, as promised. I was disappointed by the presentation and taste. The sauce has very little noticeable meat. It tasted like plain tomato sauce. I had to add Parmesan cheese and salt to give it some flavor. If there had been basil on the table, I would've added that as well. Went to this place on accident. I was originally craving a Banh Mi and wanted to try the Pho place next door but they were closed so my husband and I decided to give this restaurant a try. Was not disappointed. The service was great and the owner was so kind and even offered us a sample of a new dish that was not on the menu yet. It was bomb and overall a great experience. I was looking forward to this meal, because I know Antoine's has been around for a long time. I ordered the Earl (meatball sandwich). I had three bites and was done. The bread was borderline burned and should really be called a ground beef sandwich not a meatball sandwich, because it did not have meatballs. Yesterday for Super Bowl we ordered Antone's famous Italian subs. The bread is so amazing and the quality of the meat and cheese is incredible! I really wanted to be able to give a good review as I love to support local businesses; however, my experience with Antone's food has consistently been subpar. The pasta salad is bland, with hardly any olive oil and vinegar and unseasoned. The ravioli is also bland, and the sauce tasted like it came from a can. After sitting in the sauce for about 15 minutes, it became watery. Additionally, it would behoove the company to mention on their website that the cheese ravioli has meat in the sauce, especially for those of us who do not eat meat. While this may seem petty, the prices are high, and I paid for pepperoncinis but never received them. The sandwiches are decent, with lots of meat, but they were overpriced. For example, one time I purchased just a vegetarian sandwich (The Fugazi) which cost more than a meat sandwich at $15.75. After tax and tip it was $20.28... for JUST THE SANDWICH! read more

I drive from Orange County Anaheim Hills area to get my Antone's fix! I LOVE their meatball sandwich on garlic bread and the Mafia on garlic bread. The bread is hand made daily! I have been twice since the reopening. My favorite used to be the roast beef and gravy sandwich with provolone cheese, but they didn't have it after the reopening for a couple weeks. Wonderful Italian food selections. I've been doing to this place for lunch since 2010 and still love it. My favorite is the Mafia Sandwich with added capicola. Their bread is so soft you would assume it is family owned which is true. Then I tried the Meatball sandwich and that was delicious too. Nothing ever goes wrong with the sandwiches here. Only thing is I have not tried their pasta dishes yet, which I will someday. The interior atmosphere is somewhat dark on one side and there's another side that's bright so you can choose. Antones is amazing! They catered my daughters fifth birthday. Everybody loved the food. Their meatballs are awesome. Would highly recommend for any event. It has been many years since we have been here. I remember eating here as a kid in the early 70's the meatball grinder and the Mafia grinder were always my favorite back in the day. We decided to pick up lunch today and got one of each sandwich. Wow what a great food memory! The bread is just as I remember, the meatballs were very good and a generous portion, delicious. We got the Mafia with extra meat and cheese but unless you are really hungry you probably don't need to. Antone's is a Riverside landmark that is the same today as it was 50 years ago. I've lived around the corner from Antone's for two years now. My wife and I have been curious about them but "they're never open" we thought. Then I read on next door they closed and we're opening up on random days. Well I think the true story is, they're just opened for limited hours, LUNCH! So if you're not a local at mid day, you'll miss them. Well to the experience we had. My wife and I happened to be passing by on a weekday at lunch hour and dropped in. A couple people were just leaving and we had the place to ourselves. A young man gave us the low down on the menu and suggested the meatball sub on garlic. He said garlic bread is a added cost but for our first time he'd give it to us for free to test. He assured us we'd always order it that way. We were not disappointed at all the sandwiches were great! I really hope the hours get expanded and more people go by and support this local spot! I overheard the guys saying they're open on Saturdays, or that they will be. So if you're at work during the week, try to go on the weekend. read more
