Long time patron of Antonios. Something has gone badly wrong. My goto pizza was not even close to what it was a month ago. For years, I have raved to others about how great it was. Can't do that now. Ownership changed a while back. Most of the previous staff are gone. Hopefully, the owners will get this straightened out soon. I'll give it one more chance in a few weeks. Juat came from lunch at your restraunt . Ordered Shrimp Scampi. Was ok. Have had better. For $22.00, should have more than 5 little shrimp. Ordered a Martini, when I got my bill, they charged me a dollar for a dirty Martini. I did not order a dirty Martini. I also ordered a Tiramisu to go. When I opened it up when I got home, very scimpi piece for $8.00. Also very dry looked like it was laying around for a while. Worst Tiramisu I ever had. Will never be back at your place again. My husband I went to Antonio's for the first time for dinner. The service was great, the food amazing! Our server Jessica, was friendly, fast and offered great suggestions. Antonio's pizza has been a favorite of ours since I was young! As a teenager, all of my friends loved it also, it was never hard to decide where to go! They are celebrating their 42nd year of excellence. Pizza, hoagies, Italian dishes, salads, you name it, it's all delicious, and made with fresh, quality ingredients. The staff is great as well. We just moved to Wilmington, and I can see that Antonio's is going to be an often-visited neighborhood hangout! We sat at the bar for dinner and cocktails ... what a great time! Heidi did a wonderful job serving us! The Chicken Piccata was delicious and so big that I ate from it for two days! Facts: put order in just after 4. provided multiple pickup times before 5pm, but put 5 pm (had both Grandchildren over who love pizza), thinking about traffic, even though I am 10 minutes away. Received confirmation for my 18 inch extra cheese pizza and garlic bread with Mozzarella at 4:18pm via email. I arrived at 4:55pm, garlic bread was in a bag on the counter, paid my bill with a tip. at 510pm I asked for the status of my order. They looked around, found the yellow tag (not with the others) and looked at the bottom oven and I was told it would be roughly 3 minutes. From 5:10 to 5:25, one cook was on and off of the cell phone and the one with the Mets hat that was near the oven cooking my pizza was occasion seen near the oven. I asked again at 5:25pm for status, the main order person looked everywhere for the tag and finally found it. at 5:35pm I received the pizza and I stated, that the garlic bread has been out for 40 minutes, can I have another. The front desk person (who were very nice) went back and said no. That was the final straw, I wanted my tip backed off. No empathy from the manager. He said the cooks got backed up. When I entered the restaurant, the dining area was empty and there was only one person waiting on their to go pizza (many came in and left as I was waiting). So, they had visibility from order to deliver for over 1.5 hours. The pizza was ok, garlic bread dry because we had to heat it up. Now the backstory: My wife knew the owner in TN through sign language interpreting. We went to the monkey junction location for years until they changed the crust. Since that time, we went to several other pizza places, most recently Za Pie. Za Pie was closed, so we hoped Antonios would be good... I am not sure if the TN folks are still the owners, but I hope whoever owns this place today, reviews their online order process so this does not happen to others. My Grandkids were upset that dinner was late because it reduced our playtime. read more

We called ahead and the Antonio's on Oleander saved us one of the few tables. My friend was in the mood for a chef salad, and they had one. They had the tables all socially distanced, hand sanitizer at the door and everyone was masked up! After looking at the menu I decided on a chicken dish, Chicken Marco! Saturday evening...NFL Playoffs...and a casual night at home called for a pizza pie. After searching for some place local to order from, and never had before...my wife & I chose to order takeout from Antonio's Pizza & Pasta Midtown. This was our first time trying Antonio's & it was very tasty. FOOD: Large 18", 5-topping pizza. The toppings we chose were italian sausage, banana peppers, mushrooms, ham & onions. I thoroughly enjoyed the large, thin slices of sausage, evenly distributed throughout the pizza. The veggies were abundant throughout and tasted very fresh. The fact that the pizza was balanced with just the right amount banana peppers and a generous spread of mushrooms, insinuated that the pizza-maker takes pride in his / her abilities. The sauce was very nice. Not too much...not too little. It had just the right amount of tang, proper seasoning & the tomato base didn't overpower the toppings. The pizza dough was definitely above-average, fired up in a commercial, stainless steel pizza oven. The crust had a soft crunch in certain segments but wasn't overdone, nor too doughy. The temperature and execution of cooking time was on point! I prefer a wood fire or brick oven pizza dough bc it adds a certain smoky flavor and adds more of a crunch, but Antionio's did just fine. Best part about this fully-loaded pizza, that can fill the bellies of an army...not greasy at all!! Antonio's doesn't try to mask, add to nor try to boost flavor with unnecessary oils & fats. SCORE: 4 STARS!! SERVICE: Since this was a takeout order, I cannot speak on a full service scale, but I will score in accordance to a typical take-out order. The employee who fielded my phone call in for the order was kind and used proper manners / courtesy. During the pick-up, it was as any other average order. I did not feel rushed and the same courtesy was paid during the interraction with staff. The estimated time stated over the phone was 10 - 15 mins. After I arrived 15 minutes later, I had to wait 5 additional minutes. Packets of parmesan & red pepper flakes were given after request, but were not offered upfront. Above average customer interraction. SCORE: 2.9 STARS!! OVERALL SCORE: Better-than-corporate pizza. Fresh ingredients. Edge-to-edge toppings. Balanced sauce. Balanced cheese portion. Little grease and nice crust. This is what you will get from Antionio's takeout. It's good pie. I've had better...I've had much worse. I'll order from again for sure. 3.8 STARS!! read more

I was there for lunch on Saturday, February 4, 2024. An elderly lady, probably in her 80s, came in slowly. She was walking with a cane. She ordered a simple salad and nothing else. The salad came and you could see the frown on her face. She finally called the woman in charge over to discuss her salad. The "manager" then brought out the chef to discuss the salad with the elderly lady. BTW, I was sitting at the adjacent table, I had a front row seat for this event. The chef, who was rotund, said to the lady, "so I heard there was something wrong with the salad". The chef was clearly trying to intimidate the customer. The lady said it was only greens and it was like eating grass. The older lady was pretty unhappy. The manager said to the lady "we don't like upset customers here, It makes me feel bad." Then the manager left the bill for the older lady and walked away. The customer was mumbling about what a terrible salad it was and that no one could eat it. She paid the bill and left. Obviously, the manager didn't feel bad enough to apologize to the woman waive the costs of the "salad". I couldn't believe it! They made an old lady pay for food that she didn't like, couldn't and didn't eat, and that cost the restaurant about 20 cents in lettuce with zero toppings. I SAW the salad. I wouldn't have eaten it, and I wouldn't have paid for it either. Too bad negative stars aren't available for management. Last time there for me! Rudeness, greed, and lack of empathy should be the motto for this place. My food was good and the service (Kudos to Shannon) was great, but the display of horrid customer service, especially to a woman in her 80's was unforgivable and unforgettable. read more

Not a great experience today... I ordered through Yelp which was my fault, I won't do that again. When Yelp told me it was ready... they hadn't even got the order... so that was confusing and took forever. They were out of Calamari, okay so that sucks but it happens... then I saw the 2 pizzas... they were a joke. Hardly any sauce or cheese! The crust was dry just not good. It is such a bummer that this place is hit or miss. I was a regular there and kept hanging-in there for a little over two years. Had to throw in the towel and make the trek to Terrazzo Trattoria. Never disappointed there and the money is the same, however the quality is unmatched. When a person looks forward to a meal after a hard days work, it should be consistent. The two consistencies were 1- the inconsistency of the dishes and 2- this one woman who worked both their locations. Whenever she was at this location - it was always a bad food night and if you mentioned anything to her about the dish being prepared differently, she would chew you out and tell you no, this is how we have been doing it for years. She was clueless, wrong and rude. I hate to even post a bad review bcs the men who used to work the kitchen were spot on, but it's been too long since we have had a good lunch or dinner here. Wow! I ordered take out lastnight from Antonio's. This was my first time eating from there. The Italian Wedding soup was delicious and very much like the soup I was brought up eating in the Pittsburgh area. The Italian sub and homemade chips were also very good but the best part was the pizza. Just an ordinary cheese pizza was delicious! The crust, sauce and cheese were wonderful. Everyone likes it! My review is based on the lasagna pizza I had..WOW I rave about this pizza anytime anyone ask me of a good pizza place. I am new to NC so I was ordering a lot of delivery when I got here and that consisted of hella pizza places. I only stumbled by this small hidden gem only because the had a small sign advertising lunch. The place was unassuming from the outside but I took a mental note of the name. A few weeks later after having countless of disappointing renditions of so called "best pizza in Wilmington" I dug into my mental sack and googled Antonio's and honestly I was shocked and the variety of specialty pizzas. By this time I was salivating reading over the toppings. I chose the lasagna pizza because I didn't want to be greedy and get pizza and pasta so it was the best of both worlds... I've ordered from Antonio's many times in the past usually pizza which is very good. However this time I ordered a sandwich the chicken bacon ranch. Taste wise very good but they are very chintzy on the chicken, and there wasn't much lettuce either. The sandwich was mostly the roll. It's served with a side of pasta salad I would say an ounce or less. This sandwich isn't worth the $10.50 I paid for it more if you factor in the $2.99 delivery fee and the tip. read more

Went into Antonio's for lunch today, it was my first visit. I asked the waitress what their specialty was- she said "literally everything" and that "all the recipes are from an old Italian guy." Hmmm... I decided to try the chicken piccata and I added on a side salad to start. The salad was fresh and tasty and full of veggies (cucumber, carrot, tomato, olive, onion & mixed greens.) I was told I would have fresh bread to go with it but that did not come out until about 7 minutes after I got the main course (although I was told it was because it was in the oven, it came out cold to the touch?) I was honestly surprised when I got the chicken because it was a thin little chicken breast and a ton of pasta. There was NO flavor, when I say no flavor, I added salt, Parmesan & garlic from the table, I even asked the waitress to bring me lemon slices. She never asked me about the food even though she witnessed my poor attempts to bring a little life to this sad lunch. The service, food and atmosphere all left an awful lot to be desired. read more

This place is weird, sometimes I call they will tell me they don't deliver to my address (less than 2 miles away), sometimes they have me call their other location, other times it's just fine. I believe it's something weird with their computer system as I can't place orders online (seriously, no one wants to have to call any restaurant ever!), but once you get past that the food is generally pretty good. Bit of a pizza snob coming from the New Haven CT area, 99% of Wilmington is hot garbage, but Antonios is pretty decent. Where they really shine is with their apps, the antipasto is the single best salad you can get, I order every time, the blue cheese bread, the garlic parmesan wings...all great. Pastas are decent. I've had some shockingly bland ones (garlic and cavatelli) and some really great ones (vodka sauce with prosciutto). Sausage and pepper sub is pretty great. Wish there was some more choices for subs, but on the whole this place is my go to. read more

Tried for first time as reviews were good. Friday nite and few customers. Sat outside which likely led to the poor service, but then there were only 2 tables inside with customers. Order took over 40 minutes to be delivered.Two glasses of wine ordered, was not heard correctly so did not receive nor did we request as lack of attention. One was delivered and called out to server's back as she quickly left, did not hear.. No sign of service, bread or refills during that exceptionally long period waiting for dinner. When food delivered was plentiful and decent taste, one dish had the pasta cool. Afterwards, rather than chance wait again for check went inside myself. When seeing check, discovered the missing wine was misinterpreted as additional sauce that was on the pasta dish with a charge included. When pointed out simple mistake,and asked to removed from bill, it became a point of contention with server that she was right and I was wrong. To the level she had to call over to interrogate my guest of what they ordered. Sad to report that their energy be better spent in practicing good service from the start than pursue arguing with a customer and earning a mediocre tip and review. . read more

We had a coupon for two medium two topping pizzas for $17.00, so we decided to give this place a try. The dining room doesn't have much ambiance, but they do offer outdoor seating. It was a nice evening, so we chose to dine al fresco. Of course, the view is of the parking lot. I think that Antonio's could jazz up the outdoor area with some twinkle lights, a fountain, etc. That night, we were offered free garlic knots with a ten dollar order. They had a nice garlic flavor and were served with marinara sauce. Antonio's also had a drink special: all beer and wine half off! I ordered a Chardonnay......not the best that I have ever had.....but, it is a really nice touch to have a glass of wine at an Italian restaurant. Shame on other so called Italian restaurants who don't offer beer and wine. For the pizzas, we choose extra cheese for both, artichoke hearts on one, and mushrooms on the other. They were good for the price, and we were able to take most of it home to freeze. This was an affordable evening out. Great service, too. read more

Without a doubt, the most disappointing experience ever. Prior to dining in, I had explored their menu online and I was incredibly excited for what they had to offer. I ended up ordering a pasta that had supposedly been immersed in some type of wine and had a long list of other special things. As my boyfriend and I were waiting on our order, we saw the "cooks", who were probably in their 20s, just playing around and not actually doing anything. Later on, the most we saw them do was jam in plates into microwaves. After a long wait, our food finally came out. The chicken smelled strange and looked old. The pasta tasted as if it had just been boiled in water. It was absolutely disgusting. My boyfriend and I ended up leaving and enjoying a pizza from Little Caesar's instead. read more
