Had some intermittent furnace issues that had finally come to a head with the furnace stopping working during a bad cold spell. I feel like Im pretty in touch with furnace basics (e.g., replacing the filters, checking air and condensate flow, cleaning the flame sensors, know about overheat and pressure switches), but I couldn't figure out what the issue was. On a Saturday, Vedran responded quickly to my yelp message, and technician Antonio came out. Antonio worked through all the components and quickly diagnosed the issue, some PVC pipe on the exhaust was installed in such a way that water could easily backup and destroy the vacuum for the induction motor. Antonio had to cut and re-glue the PVC pipe on the exhaust, and setup a nice incline in the pipe, such that water could flow out and it wouldn't be an issue in the future. Very happy with the response time and work, my furnace is working great! read more

Our Situation: -We recently moved into a new house. On Jan 17, we awoke to find the house at 54 degrees and dropping. On Jan 18, our "regular HVAC company" charged us $130 to diagnose the problem (inducer motor) and wanted another $970 to replace it -- but the technician recommended a completely new furnace. On Jan 19, we met with a salesman; mid-range options were $7,000. Before signing dotted lines (and definitely in sticker shock), I Yelped for other inducer motor replacement estimates. (We've used our "regular HVAC company" for maintenance for years in our previous house, so I trusted their diagnosis -- but not their repair pricing.) Why ANY TEMP earned our business that day: -Ron's Yelp messages were very prompt, professional, direct, and helpful. -Ron's Yelp quote was just barely the lowest (of 4) -- and far lower than the ridiculous $970. -Any Temp has fantastic online reviews across multiple sites. Nicor came out as we smelled gas. It was pin pointed to the gas control valve on the water heater. I called Any Temp after finding them on Yelp and they sent a tech out the very next morning. Antonio was there at 8am sharp. He first inspected the water heater to make sure there were no other leaks and if it can be salvaged with repair. They did not push me to buy anything. I decided to replace the water heater as it was 13 years old. Any Temp provided a great price and Antonio had it hooked up and working fast. I'm in Lakeview. My air-conditioner HVAC system is 18 years old. It's been working fine. But, due to age, I thought I should have it inspected. I called Deljo and they quoted me $109 to do an inspection. But then my neighbor referred me to Any-Temp. They charged $60 for an inspection. Deal! I called them and they said they could come out tomorrow morning. Excellent. Ron from Any-Temp came out, right on time, and checked my a/c system. He said it was a little low on refrigerant and the fan motor was beginning to fail. He only charged me another $60 to add refrigerant. I've decided to not replace the motor. Money's tight, so I'll wait until it dies. We talked about replacing the a/c system with a new, more efficient one. Ron was not pushy or trying to upsell me a new expensive a/c system. His honesty was appreciated. He said my a/c system is about at the end of the typical life span. But, he admitted that if it keeps working without needing expensive repairs than I should keep it. Great experience. Ron's very professional. He took plenty of time to explain what he did. He uses the latest diagnostic tools which are more precise than the old-school analog gauges that many competitors use. Arrived on time. Very good prices! Any Temp technician, Ron Zivoin, was contacted at 8:00 A.M. on Thursday, February 5, 2015, in regards to a condo association I manage that was entirely without heat. Temperatures on this day were down into the single digits. Within an hour, Ron was on-site and was able to pinpoint the cause of the boiler system shutdown immediately. He was able to get this heat up and running in just a few hours. This particular system runs on sensors, so Ron replaced batteries in all interior & exterior sensors and reprogrammed the interior sensors. In addition to this, Ron performed a thorough cleaning of the system, supplying "before" and "after" pictures. I have been using Ron, for over one year now, to service all HVAC-related issues in the properties I manage. His professionalism is absolutely phenomenal. I find Ron to be honest, prompt, and extremely knowledgeable in his field. His prices are very fair. I contacted any temp about my gas furnace and got a diagnosis quote of $65. After a 5 minutes analysis the tech identifies the problem as a flame sensor. He tells me it costs $216. I said the part must be made of gold. Wanting heat for my townhouse I agree to the service. I then look up that specific part for my furnace online and find out it costs less than $10. I would expect a mark up but not of this magnitude. I call the owner Ron to discuss the ridiculous mark up on his parts. I get no resolution other than this is the price I charge. Be wary of this company and the hidden fees associated with their very expensive pricing. I am now replying to the post from the company. I did discuss the pricing with Ron and did not spend 20 minutes on the phone with him. I did not want a service plan that would have NOT reduced the overall price as the service plan cost $95 additional dollars. No reduction there!! I did compliant on the service as I did not want to seem like a jag and didn't want the entire call to have a negative vibe. I am human too . My rating and statement still hold true. The cost of the part is $10 and I was charged $216!!! I am not even joking. This is so ridiculous and absurd!!! Don't fall for the same trick!!! Be wary!!! What a great company! I was referred by a neighbor who praised Ron's work. He was right about everything. Of course it was an incredibly hot day in Chicago. The AC would switch on, but no cool air. I was panicked because I have an older small dog, who can't tolerate heat. The temp in the house was around 86 degrees. Ron tried to help me on the phone, but knew he needed to come by. He came by the following day and I was so nervous that my 15 yr. old unit would need to be totally replaced. He said he could fix it and I was so relieved that it cost me only around $300. My wife and I used Ron as a second opinion after another company performed a cleaning on our furnace that left it non-functional. He responded more quickly than the other company's "24 hour emergency line" and was unbelievably helpful both on the phone and in person, making it out to our house by 10am on a Sunday after leaving him a voicemail around 8/8:30 that morning. His repair recommendations were on par with what the previous contractor stated, although they were around 1/3 of the cost. During the inspection, he was very thorough, explained what he was looking at/for, and extremely professional. Our furnace was 18 years old anyway, so we opted to just replace our unit with a high-efficiency model through Any Temp (previous company quoted us over $2000 higher for a comparable model) and Ron/company were able to install it next day for us, which was great due to the sub-freezing weather. While he told me the unit is old and shakey, it was not ready to be replaced yet, as it was still working and could go on working for awhile.
