Awful experience. No one calls back despite multiple messages. I canceled my membership in May 2025 twice and even went in person. Every time I was given the runaround until I finally spoke directly with the owner angel or Alex who assured me everything was fine and that he would personally cancel my membership. The staff kept saying they do not handle cancellations so I trusted the owner's word. Since May I have continued to be charged every single month. In August alone four payments were taken out totaling 134 dollars and overall I have now been charged 260 dollars in unnecessary fees. This is completely unacceptable. I expect an immediate call back and resolution. I have been patient and professional long enough but clearly this business does not keep its word, ignores cancellation requests, and makes it impossible to reach a real person. I hope they see this review because future customers deserve to know the truth before signing up. read more

Very small gym, there is this one trainer who always microwaves his food there and makes the whole gym smell like food. Not a friendly environment either. For the price you pay your better off going to planet fitness or anywhere else but here. read more

Very misleading place. Website says they offer a free 7-day trial. I show up to the place and they say it's only for one day and they charge $10. Membership cost is $35 a month. They charge first and last months with a $40 enrollment and $20 for a key card to enter the gym. Just to sign up would cost $150. read more

Great place to train! Compact gym with everything you need. The gym is always well organized and maintained. Love the small close knit community that the gym has and not the typical ego lifters you get at the big box gyms or the messiness of the big places. Three things, unsupervised children running around, bad gym etiquette shown by trainers, and the microwave people use to warm up their food. On occasion I will walk into the gym and there will be unsupervised children running around. One time I was on the stair stepper someone's child was running around the machine! (See attached photo) If you come anytime that they have 'one on one' training sessions. Good luck finding an open machine... let alone a spot on the floor. The 'one on one' sessions will be using more than one machine at a time, and they will leave a towel or a water to 'save their space'. Then there is a microwave by the front door. I don't know about you but I would rather not workout with the smell of someone else's meal looming around me. It's not a very large gym to begin with and and the gym door remains closed. So I have been trying to contact them to cancel my membership for a month now and haven't been able to. They asked me to go in person and I asked if there was another way, they said no. Okay I understand. But then I hear that my friend was able to do it by phone and I was a little bothered. That's okay, maybe I can find some time to go and cancel, and then I realize that I was charged twice this month and I am trying to figure out why and no one answers me (transactions attached). Gym is small, dirty, lights were flickering, has old machines, and uninviting. Treadmill area was so dim we couldn't see. We have anytime fitness memberships and decided to check out this location in Covina. We walk in and everyone stares at us, it's a small gym and has a clickey uninviting vibe. Machines are outdated. To say this gym is anything short of AMAZING would be a lie! I've been a member at the is gym for over a year now and I LOVE IT. The atmosphere is impeccable, the cleanliness is outstanding, and NOT to mention that it's always neat and the weights are always re-racked PROPERLY. I love that it's accessible 24 hours a day, and that they provide wet wipes to wipe the machines off. There is a sufficient amount of cardio machines for the size of the place. What I am ultimately grateful for is that as a female I can go in ANY time of day and I don't feel like I'm going to be harassed, or judged like I do at LA fitness. The machines are always being attended to and maintenance is always up to date. The owner Angel has always been available, and attended to any problems I have in a timely manner. The staff is always so friendly, and eager to help with ANY questions. Aside, from coming in at 11pm I've never had a problem with accessing staff at this facility. There's even a cell phone number on the front door. I can not see myself, training, working out, or having cardio sessions any where else but ANYTIME FITNESS IN COVINA. I think some people on here need to realize that they aren't writing a review on the gym but the trainer they hired, and that something that shouldn't be addressed on yelp. read more

I joined Anytime Fitness about 4 months ago hesitantly to continue working with my personal trainer Jake Olivas who relocated gyms. I was not looking forward to driving 20 mins further for my workouts but after my first session I knew it was worth it. The gym is not usually crowded, it's clean and everyone is very friendly. Jake was able to provide more varied workouts because of the access to equipment available. I have continued to train with Jake because of his approach. Having a knee issue, I knew with his educational background, and watching him work with his clients, he was the right fit for me. He took the time to find out what my goals were, what my diet was, and my skill level before just provided a generic workout and meal plan. He continues to challenge me and I continue to see results! Since I started training with Jake, I have lost over 30 lbs, my muscle mass is up and body fat down. Paying for personal training is an investment and one that I am happy I made. I highly recommend Jake, he is the real deal! read more

I find it extremely unethical to not respond and continue to charge me each month for a membership I continue to actively try and cancel. Relatively clean gym. Depending on the time frame you choose to go, the gym can be empty as well. It is a 24 hour gym(almost 365 as well). You get your key and can come and go whenever you want. Equipment is new. There is a lot of Rogue equipment here(for all my gymheads). Members are pretty friendly. And those that look advanced are quick to help out whenever I needed a spot or just advice. You can't beat the price. I paid $40 a month with NO CONTRACT. Beats having to be stuck at LA or Golds gym tied down to a contract. The owner(Angel) was very professional and respectful whenever it came down to business. I highly recommend this gym to anyone, especially those that don't want to sign a year or two long contract. I've been coming to this gym for a year. I started coming here to rehab a limp from an accident. At first I was a bit surprised at the cost versus the size of the gym. I talked to the owner of the gym, and he told me about some of their offerings and deals so I signed up for a year. Turns out this gym has been perfect for my needs. There's always a cardio machine available, and everyone is friendly. The trainers are always around and willing to help you with something if you need help. The place has modern, clean equipment too. I've been to corporate mega gyms and I've had the commercial trainers. I always flaked out and didn't commit. Since I had met Angel, I decided to pay for sessions with him once I was back to running and had the stamina. I'm amazed at what was brought to the table. Accountability is one thing, but he shows you the lifestyles needed towards building up to your goals. I took it till I plateau'd and he's taken it to another level. Came to this location on a Monday looking to replace my key, nobody was there. I call the number on the door & it's out of service. I call a different number taped to door & spoke to Angel about getting a new key, he told me someone would be there at 3:30 & it would cost $10. I went home since I didn't feel like waiting around for 2 hours. I called him on Tuesday just to make sure someone was there & he gave me a different price of $15 to replace the key, I thought it was odd but figured whatever...I ended up going on Wednesday to replace the key & angel upped the price to $20. I asked why he kept upping the price & his response was, you're from a different Anytime Fitness, $20 won't break me you can go to a different one or pay $50 to corporate. It's a solid gym so if you live close I'd definitely suggest a membership here over basic gyms like LA Fitness. Like every Anytime Fitness, this place is open 24-hours a day, every day, so you can come whenever you want. I love the convenience of that. The only thing is that the space is quite small. It feels very cramped, like every inch of space is being occupied by fitness equipment. There's only one space where you can stretch, but that also is a place to perform deadlifts. I like to stretch and do yoga poses, so it was always awkward for me to do that here. That was never a problem for me because I tended to come here during the weekdays around 4, so I could do my workout without waiting for people. But I could see it getting crowded by the time I left. I came here on a Saturday at 9am one time and the place was packed. I could barely walk around the place to see if the squat racks were being used. I basically opened the door and left. Even though this place was close to me, I would still go to the Anytime Fitness branch in Duarte because it was always practically empty and spacious. Gym owner is nice and friendly! read more

2 day in a row where there are numerous children here. There is no child supervision offered here (at least not at this location). It is a safety hazard to have children unsupervised as they are running around and playing on the workout machines. Trainers and workers are present and say nothing. #1, parents need to be more aware of their children. #2 employees need to inform guests that children are not permitted without direct supervision. Meaning an adult needs to be with them at all times, you working out does not count as direct supervision. read more

I had come to a realization that I am pushing 30 and need to get some weight off to be a healthy person. My cousin had just signed up for personal training at this gym and not only convinced me but also generously spotted me a slot in the training (I had just came back from vacation broke af). I saw "Coach Castro's" workouts on his IG story and felt convinced that this training was what I needed to reach my weight goal. I met him alongside my cousin, felt great about him, and left motivated and convinced that I was going to come out a happy and satisfied camper. But, oh boy, was I wrong! Not once did he mention he would be taking videos (without our permission) to post online--I'm very picky about people taking pictures/videos of me without permission. I made it clear I had back problems and needed to work on my core and he hardly worked on my core. I told him I wanted to keep my legs heavier because I took pride in my legs (did swimming in hs) he only had me working on my legs without weights so the workouts were a joke. His cardio workouts were trash as well because he wanted me to hit the ground running well knowing it'd been years since I had worked out! My cousin, who trained with me, almost had a collapsed lung from how excessive the cardio was. And OH MY GOD, my biggest complaint and what made me come to realize how shady this trainer really is, was his f*cking meal plan. Not only did it take him about 6 sessions to give me the "meal plan" that came with the training, it was so f*cking minimal. There are some people that can diet cold turkey, I am not one of those people. I was eating very little food and it was planned so that I could be losing 4 lbs a week alongside the cardio. Could you imagine how much exertion on very little fuel I was putting my body through? I tried to speak to him many times about this meal plan, and all he could say is "stay strong", "keep those plates clean". I told him I was a stress eater (I am a nursing student, stress comes with the career) and asked him for a recommendation. All he could say was "stay strong, can't add food until you lose weight" ?!?! It didn't sit with me well so I met with a nutritionist and showed her my "meal plan" and she raised an eyebrow, she shook her head and said trainers should stick to training and not make up meal plans because a lot of nutrients were being neglected. She made a note that normal and healthy weight loss is 1-2 lbs per week, not f*cking 4 lbs, which is what he was pushing. Ridiculous! Big note: he is NOT certified to be giving out meal plans. Nevertheless, I decided to keep going to the workouts, it's really what I was there for (and to bond with my cousin). Well, his attitude became trash too. He would send motivational texts which I appreciated until they started getting a little weird (cut people off with unhealthy habits. What? My family cos they're not eating minimally like me?). I assumed they were just friendly reminders that didn't need replying, well he took it up the A** that I wouldn't reply, like really dude? Wtf did you want me to reply? "AMEN"? Ugh! Then began the rude f*cking comments. "Didn't think you would show up" (this was a Sunday morning) "what are you doing? Something?" (Poking Fun at my workouts) finally, my workload at work increased, my car broke down, and I came down with the flu. I missed so many days, and I should have sent texts but his attitude really made me avoid him and I said enough! I told my cousin, I could no longer continue and would like for her son to have the rest of my sessions. I apologized for "giving up" but I wasn't happy with it and it became more of a chore. Especially with him. Eventually he called my cousin and he went as far as to call me problematic and although he originally agreed to roll over my sessions to her son, he took them back and said she would receive NO REFUND (I mentioned earlier she spotted me) how rude, and unprofessional. I am not problematic, I avoid conflict, I have social anxiety, and I came to him in need of help (not crazy over the top help of course), I got out of my comfort zone for myself, to get well and strong, and instead I came out defeated. There's more to the story (yelp won't allow a lengthy review) but the fact that he took the deal back from my cousin, wouldn't refund, was not considerate of what I wanted even though it was paid for, and calling me a problem (not once did I give attitude) is what led me to write this review. I came across a saying: "you can go to the gym everyday, but if you don't deal with what's in your heart, you will never be healthy" this experience made this true. Avoid this trainer, unless you want the torture. One star goes to the cleanliness of the gym. I will take my business elsewhere, to other trainers who will actually listen to my needs and push me in the right direction (and doesn't meddle with nutrition without a certification) read more

I love this gym! I came here from another gym nearby and after coming here, I wont ever go back to the other. The equipment is new and the place is always very clean. The members here are friendly and the trainers are very knowledgeable. The membership fees are affordable and the convenience of it being open 24 hours is great. I train with Angel. I came here with hopes to get back into shape after a spinal injury. I expressed my concerns and the goals I hoped to achieve for myself. He was very confident in his training and assured me that I can reach my goals if I remained consistent in his training techniques. Initially I was hesitant but the way he trains has actually made it both fun and life changing for me. He makes sure that I'm accountable for what I eat and do throughout our session. He pushes me and has confidence in me which is an amazing feeling! I definitely notice results and have changed my eating habits (in which I thought would never happen.) It's always open, to enter the gym it requires a key fob, additional amenities are a private restroom / shower, water fountain, tv's, and all equipment you will need for your workout. You can count on the trainers to work with you. You typically will not repeat the same exercise in any given month. Everyday they work on specific muscle groups. LOVE LOVE LOVE my new fitness journey with Jake Olivas as a coach with Anytime Covina! I've known Jake for a little over 4/5 years' when he was at another gym. I always wanted to train with him because I saw his approach to coaching individuals was different than a "personal trainer". I am now very excited and happy to finally be able to get back on track with the help of his coaching techniques in exercise, eating habits and support group-support that's rarely offered when starting a new fitness and life style regime. I enjoy the fact he doesn't focus on pounds or measurements, but rather body fat/muscle/water assessments to guide your needs and wants in fitness. This guy has a background in kinesiology and experience coaching !! Highly recommended! I cannot leave without mentioning that the Anytime fitness chain is different than any other chain because 1. I joined Anytime Fitness about 2 months ago after gaining some weight back. I use to train with jake at a different gym but the commute became a little to hard for me to make. Once he told me that he was moving closer to me, I decided to get back to it! Anytime Fitness is a great little gym. I love the atmosphere and the cleanliness of it. Everyone there is welcoming and polite. Jake is who I train with. He always pushes me above my limits and always has encouraging words. He works on my weaknesses and guides me through every set. He is very honest and helpful when it comes to nutritional information. Since I started back with him, I have lost a few pounds and I feel alot better about myself. I have been going since February to train with Castro. I have nothing but great things to say about him. He's a very positive person. He likes to see you succeed. He pushes you in a great way, and he even texts you almost daily to give you encouraging words. He's been great at listening to my needs and will make adjustments to my workouts when I ask. He is nothing less than an encouraging, positive, honest, hard working trainer. I appreciate him very much. As far as the gym, it's a small place but with everything you need.
