AP claims to have an A+ BBB rating. Their salesman also made that claim. They are not registered with the Better Business Bureau, nor do they have an A+ rating. The salesman said the bad reviews are due to buyers failing to inspect the delivered merchandise. Seems he's saying his company is not responsible for missing or damaged goods. This is literally the worst place you can buy parts from. I ordered a set of spark plug wires, when they arrived, I realized they were not the correct size for the unit I had. I had opened up the bag and confirmed the length of the new ones compared to my old ones. The new plug wires I just got were shorter. I didn't use the part, I contacted the facility staff immediately and tried to return them. I was told I couldn't return them because they were special order item. Nowhere on the website does it state that the part that I bought was a special order item? Nowhere in the description or in any of the specifications it stated this. I went back back-and-forth with Tim King and he was no help whatsoever. This is a brand new part that has never been used. I should be able to return this part or even pay a restocking fee. This place is dishonest, not transparent, and very unprofessional. I will definitely not be buying any more parts from these establishment. This was the first and last time. The plug wires costed me $102! You're better shopping elsewhere, other places have better supportive staff and things are more clear, you have been warned!! read more

Good prices, very rude customer service assuming you can even get through. They have an online chat service that requires you to watch a 60 second countdown and then reconfirm. The voice line often rings busy, and if you do get through it's wait forever on hold. Kind of reminds me of the IRS. I made the mistake of placing an order before reading the reviews, they charged my credit card immediately and then didn't ship the generator for six weeks. I ordered a Generac 7210 generator on July 23,2021, from AP Electric, primarily because of the cost AND "ships in estimated 4-5 week window" advertisement. Immediately after placing my order, I followed up with an email to AP Electric Customer Service, inquiring about the estimated shipping dates. Customer Service confirmed the "estimated shipping 4-5 week window". On August 26, 2021, 5 weeks after my order was placed, I logged in to check the status of my order and was shocked to see the "awaiting shipment" status. I checked the Generac 7210 product number (SKU 72101) on the AP Electric site and it is advertising "ships in 14-15 weeks". Of course, I shouldn't be concerned since this couldn't possibly apply to my shipment, purchased and "paid in full", 5 weeks ago right? Well, after calling AP Electric, I was informed that in fact it is now "estimated shipping in 14-15 weeks". Instead of falsely advertising 4-5 weeks, AP Electric should honestly inform paying customers that they will receive their order in 19-20 weeks. (And who knows if this is patently false advertising too). So the product that I should have received by August 26, 2021, may (or may not) be shipped by December 10, 2021. Oh by the way, at the time, my local electrician with Next Phase Electric, advertised shipping in 9 weeks. I should have stayed local! Update, on November 12, 2021, AP Electric sent me an email to inform me that the status of my order has been updated. Unfortunately, the updated information provided stated that my generator order was again delayed and now is expected to ship "mid to late January 2022." In addition, AP Electric included this note, "AP Electric is recommending that you keep your order in queue with us for this is a national production issue for Generac. Due to AP Electric's proximately to Generac's main manufacturing facility, our product allocation and the large volume of orders we have in Generac's production schedule, it is unlikely that you would receive your order quicker from any other vendor." I opted to cancel my order with AP Electric and received my full refund in the advertised 2-business day timeframe. The same day I submitted my cancellation request with AP Electrics, I placed an order with Next Phase Electric for the exact same generator. On November 17, 2021, I received confirmation that my order with Next Phase Electric has been completed and we are now in the scheduling installation phase of this home improvement project. Next Phase Electric saved the day and I am shopping local from now on. read more

AP electric & generators are honestly what I would call true died in the wool sheisters. A person named Domenic who works there is the worst idea that we all have of salesmen. The type you scurry from at car dealerships who never leave you alone although you ask them to give you space and are just looking. On June 27th 2017 I called APelectric & generators and spoke to Domenic asking him about the new Westinghouse 2400i generator. It received excellent reviews online and the price was $619 shipped. I also inquired about the "backordered" status of the generator and he said "Others have put in orders so if you don't order now there may not be enough units for you and it may go into backorder again." I fell for that line from Domenic, the true fear based salesman. So I put in the order online through AP's site that day for $619 shipped. A few minutes later an email confirmation came from Paypal and from AP. But after some thoughts overnight I didn't feel right about it. First, I didn't like Domenics fearful demeanor. Second when I checked with my credit card the time limit for disputes is 60 days from the charge posting. This left little room for error I thought. If I get a bum unit or have a problem with this company (whom I never have done business with before) I will have no recourse. So I decided to get the customer service number for Westpro power inc, the people who make Westinghouse generators and ask. I spoke to a man named Rob Fuchs and he ASSURED me first that the generators were scheduled from China the first week of August (not the end of July as stated by APelectric & generators) and second there would be PLENTY (he used that word in a tone that was assuring) that they would have more than enough with the size order that was coming. So for me this was all I needed. The same afternoon (June 22nd) I cancelled the order with a man named Bob at AP electric. Bob sounded surprised that they were coming in August and that I was cancelling the order (that should have been a major signal to me. They always sounded weird when I talked about not ordering or canceling the order). He said it was "no problem" and he would "get right on it.". By 6pm est that day no refund had been issued on Paypal. Around 7pm I listen to a voicemail from Domenic at AP saying "are you SUUUUURE you want to cancel? I mean, there are so many others ordering and you will fall to the bottom of the list and if they go, they go. So I just want to be sure...so call me back." I called back and they were closed so I left a general voicemail reiterating and confirming for them to cancel my order and refund the card. All this was on the evening of June 22nd. The next day at 5pm there still was no refund issued. I called AP and Domenic answered. I said "I would absolutely like to cancel the order so just go ahead and do it." His response? "Okay we will minus a 3% credit card fee.". What!!? What is that? He said "it's in our policy.". What?! At that point I was so angry at this sheister. I first off have been processing credit cards for 20 years and have never even heard of a fee to the consumer called a credit card fee (neither has my card company). Second off you never even had to ship anything! It couldn't be a restocking fee! "Yes he said credit card fee.". So anyone who knows anything about this knows it costs a business NOTHING, nada, to refund or void a credit card transaction. Also, reputable companies (such as Amazon for instance) do not even charge your card until they ship an item. These guys are just weird and untrustworthy. There is no such thing as a credit card fee for this type of issue to the consumer. So yup, he refunded me $600.43. I did as I promised and immediately called my card company (we both had a good laugh at the "credit card fee " thing.) And they put in a dispute. I am praying Paypal charges him the $20 charge back fee. They must be desperate for money. Why would you risk offending a potential future customer when you lose absolutely ZERO dollars?? This defies any logic I can see. How stupid. So, I would advise everyone out there to never give this company any credit card or prepayment for anything. No, how about no money at all. The nature of this transaction leads me to seriously question this "tip of the iceberg" problem. They had 6 disputes on BBB and a few of them were things like this. Even though when people complained they refunded them, there are too many awesome businesses out there to deal with these substandard people at APelectric. Do not order from this company. I ordered a generator on 11/22/2021 and had a three month wait. I was periodically checking in with the manufacturer and everything was on schedule. A week before the expected ship date (3/18/2022) I get an email saying my order has been refunded. When I reply back I get a response saying they have no reason. I got on the phone with management (Dominique) and his response was that the owners told him to cancel orders since the prices went up (Even though I had already paid). They repeatedly told me that they would be in on time ( by Tuesday of this week) and then just last week said that they will not be coming with no date in sight. I purchased an invertor parallel electric cord online to connect two generators together. The cord wasn't compatible with the generators that I intended to use it for so I contacted AP Electric & Generators to return the item. I was told that they normally don't accept returns but might possibly be able to take it back with "approval" from management. However, I would be charged a 20% restocking fee, and shipping both ways. I was also informed that it was my fault for not being absolutely sure the cord would be compatible with my generator units. Despite my explanation that the information provided by their online page wasn't sufficient for me to determine the exact compatibility for a cord that seemed to be a generic item. Factor into your decision making that your order must match exactly what you're doing due to the fact that AP Electric & Generators is inflexible to their customers' well being and needs regarding returns to the products it sells! read more

Good day to you. On 10/04/16 I ordered a Generac EcoGen 15kw model 7034 for off-grid use. AP Electric's website and the salesperson Dom both stated that the 7034 was available for immediate shipment and would take about three or four days to for shipping to begin. After a week, I had received no follow up, confirmation or updates. I called and emailed Dominique for an update with no reply. Two week later, I emailed again, and was told that Generac had not provided Dom / AP Electric with an update. on 10/17/16 I was told the ship date was to be October 20th. Yesterday (10/24/16), I asked again. Today, I was told verbally and by email that AP Electric has no idea where my generator is and that is has not been shipped. I spoke with a nice gentleman at Generac Corporation today (10/25/16). He does not believe that there should have been any hold up with my order of three weeks ago. (Remember, I am off-grid and need this generator daily). I recontacted Dom at AP Electric and while on the website found that this EcoGen 7034 is on sale for $420.90 off. (Generac 7034 15kw EcoGen Generator for Off-gris use) $4,209.00, Sale: $3,788.10 (You save $420.90) Availability:In Stock - Available for Immediate Shipment I called Dom back and asked to have the discount applied to my order. He said "I can't do that". He explained that since I ordered this same model (7034) before the start of the sale date, that I am not eligible. I told Dom that since AP Electric has not even begun the fulfillment of my Generac generator order and they do not even know where the generator is, that I wanted to cancel my current order and re-order the same EcoGen 7034 at the sale price. Dom said that I could do that, but that AP Electric would charge me a five percent (5%) cancellation fee ($210.45). I told him that was ridiculous since they apparently do not even have my generator. Dom began getting snippy with me when I protested that that was probably not a good customer service approach. He replied, "That's how it is. Dom said that I can cancel, pay the order cancellation fee, reorder the SAME generator and get the 10% discount. The phone call started going downhill due to my exasperation and I ended the call. I spoke with Anthony at the Generac Corporation and he was very sympathetic. He explained that, unfortunately, they have to go through dealers and could not sell directly to me or they would. I told Generac Corporation that I was filing a BBB complaint against AP Electric so that they had a heads up. They did not protest my approach. I realize that in the end, I am talking about $200-400 dollars on a total purchase of $4600+. However, I feel that I am being taking advantage of, when the failure to deliver is on AP Electric's part. When it still was not shipped for nearly a month, and I called and asked AP to cancel the order. Instead, they shipped it the next day, then refused to give me a full refund when I told them it had arrived too late. They also lied. They said I had never called to halt the shipping. Never did so I called and got tracking from some lady that could do nothing else but apologize. She knows how terrible they are too. Then I called back and talked to Bob who has NO CLUE what customer service is... when asked when the managers would be out of their meeting - his snotty ass said I have no idea. My two suggestions to you would be to first read the Better Business Bureau complaints on this company before you make a mistake like I did. My second suggestion if the first one doesn't put you off is to pay by credit card as I did - not by check as your credit card company will help you if you have a problem like mine. I ordered a small Cat generator in May 2020 and was never given notice of it shipping. It arrived via UPS regular delivery, no signature required, in a battered box (not by appointment per the shipping policy). The box appeared to be open as the tape on the top and bottom was slit but there were three straps holding it together. I immediately called the company and told them I believed it was a "returned" unit due to the condition of the box and the fact the tape had already been cut open - top and bottom. I looked in the top of the box and the literature appeared strewn across the top and the packaging looked old and worn. I did not bother to remove the unit but sealed it back up and asked AP Electric & Generators to arrange return. I was actually hung up on by an employee because she said I was angry and she'd call me back when I had calmed down! No one called back. They pointed fingers at Caterpillar and told me I should not have accepted delivery - I did not accept delivery and did not sign for anything - UPS left it. AP Electric was no help beyond that. I called UPS and was able to refuse the delivery. UPS picked it up and returned it to the shipper. I immediately contested the credit card charge with my card company who are investigating it now. I have no generator and await resolution to get my money back. There happens to be an identical issue to mine on the BBB - now there will be two. Buyer Beware. read more
