I've been using Apartment Keepers since at least 2005 and have stuck with the company from SE DC to Southern Arlington and they've never let me down. And I'm not that easy. I'm the typical cluttered bachelor and they've never complained and never fired me as a client and are always friendly and smiling and they always do excellent work. I hired Apartment Keepers after receiving an ad from them in the mail. They were less expensive than my previous service, and I could pay with a credit card. I fired the company after noticing two things: A broken figurine (replaced carefully to make it not appear broken), and plastic kitchenware stored in my oven (not noticed until after I turned on the oven, and caused a minor fire!). After bringing the issues to the company's attention, they presumed I had caused both issues since I did not have visual proof of maids commiting either act.. I live by myself, and wouldn't have done either. I was extremely unimpressed with their business and management. Steer clear! There are so many other cleaning services in the DC area. I hired a new service almost immediately, and have been with them for over a year. No complaints! read more

I found Apartment Keepers after trying several cleaning services for my 1-bedroom apartment. This was one of the more reasonably priced services relative to the options you have when hiring a service. When I mention that it is reasonably priced, the "relative to other services" part is key. They charged me $75 / visit to come every other week. That is the same that my family pays to have their 4 bedroom house cleaned. While this is pricy, I never once was disappointed that I spent the money on them. Coming home to a spotless apartment is one of the best feelings, and they cleaned the hell out of my place every time. One time they even re-organized my closet, color-coding my shirts. I had my first cleaning done with apartment cleaners and was very pleased with their work. I came home to a sparkly new looking apartment. I was some what skeptical due to the reviews and issues raised but decided to take the chance go with it since they seemed to be in line as far as price with other companies. I do think the prices for cleaning services int he DC metro are just ridiculous, especially for apartments. Since I live alone in a one bedroom I don't need them to come very often, just every 4 weeks, I liked that I had this option. I initially thought I had walked into someone else's apartment for a brief moment. I just thought it would be helpful for them to call/text you when they are done with your apartment. I hired Apartment Keepers and had to eventually get rid of the service. The price was decent but too many crazy things happened: 1) Money disappeared from my apartment. Granted, I should not have money in my apartment but I had forgotten it in a bag and when I remembered, I checked right away and it was gone. 2) One time they left my front door wide open. They never shut it. I noticed when I arrived home. 3) One time they turned on my oven when cleaning and I noticed as I returned home. 4) One time they accidentally turned on the kitchen timer on my stove and it was buzzing away as I arrived home. 5) One time they took my trash and put it in the hallway. I arrived home to see a trash bag by the elevators with an angry note from a neighbor and realized it was my trash bag. How embarrassing. 6) One time they locked me out of my bathroom. They actually locked the door and shut it. I had to have maintenance let me in. 7) One time they put the cleaning supplies in my cat's litter box. Note: this is a litter box that was in use. I really thought they were playing jokes on me. This all actually happened. Sounds completely insane. Which is why you should not use them! read more

I called in for the first time to try them out because they service the building I live in. I was told they could show up the next day. I thought that was great but didn't realize it meant they would schedule my apt on top of their full schedule. The "cleaning" was rushed and incomplete. For $100 for a one bedroom, I expect that they spend more than an hour in the apt. I found dustballs hidden in one tote bags, the bedroom untouched except for making the bed and piling up whatever they found on my desk and drawers into a corner with my laundry and other random items. The kitchen looked clean until I went in there, Basically, they did more shuffling round than cleaning. I am sure the employees were capable, but perhaps AK rushes them to squeeze in as many apts as possible in one day. Awful. Will not be using them again or recommending to anyone. read more

Horrible service, rude. Horrible cleaning job. They don't move anything including pictures to dust. I've had hair on my floor when I left, they came and there was still hair there. awful job! Save your money! I've called to tell them and they said I would get a free service then when I called to have it they said "we never said that." read more

I have been using Apartment Keepers for over a year, and they are really great! They are flexible about changing which day of the week they come, and are compliant with any additional requests I have. They do a good job of tidying up and changing sheets, etc. I would definitely recommend using them and do not have any complaints. read more

If you like good customer service at first and then not having the cleaners show up this company is for you. I emailed the company and had email confirmation of an appointment for 830 on a Thursday morning for cleaners to come and clean my apartment so that my Fiancee and I could get a hand and make the apartment shineshine for guests coming for the weekend. The day before the appointment I confirmed with the customer service rep via email and she even mentioned the cleaners would be showing up about a half hour early which would be great so I could go to work earlier. Well it turns out not only did the cleaners not show up, but when I called to talk to a representative (several times), I got a voicemail every time and have yet to get a call back. I also sent an email asking for an explanation and have yet to get one. So in other words, unless you like to be frustrated and then have to do the work yourself, don't use this company and find another cleaning company in the DC Metro Area who would happily show up on time and be available on the phone. read more

I only used apartment keepers once but thought they did a fine job. They thoroughly cleaned everything, including dusting the blinds. The only strange thing I saw was that they didn't appear to have their own cleaning sprays for some things - I saw them use my dawn dish wash to clean the counters - not really the purpose of the product. Also, I should mention I was home the whole time because I was uncomfortable with cleaners being in the apartment without my supervision so that may be why I did not experience any problems with things being stolen/broken. read more

My sister gave me some designated money for a one-time super cleaning of the apartment I have lived in for 10 years. Apartment Keepers came today and did a GREAT job. My shower now looks as good as a hotel shower. They got all the cruddy corners of the carpet and somehow made the old carpet look newer and so much cleaner than my vacuum can do. It's still old but way cleaner. I feel bad for asking them to do this but I have a large trunk full of clothes and linens that got a bit out of hand and I asked them to fold everything. They did that and organized it by type of item into sections. So nice now. The place is as clean as when I moved in almost completely. They were unable to 100% get ten year old crud off the vent above the microwave or all the dust off the vent on the ceiling of the fan area on the bathroom ceiling but made serious improvements in both scenarios and I had tried so hard to make any dent at all on those two projects. I give them an A+. I highly recommend Apartment Keepers and think it's the best gift ever from my sister to designate some gift money for it. read more

This happened some time ago, but still in my gut and I just want people to know about this company and the owner. A nightmare to deal with, my husband hired them as anniversary present, nice gesture :), but what happened later was terrible, The first time, it was a no show, after I called them they told me that my husband needed to call because the account was under his name (granted) he called and they told him that the key was not released to them by my front desk (lie), I called my front desk and the company was in the building but never requested my key (my husband left a key release authorization sheet with them the day before). We gave them a second chance since this first time there was doubt. The second time, they left my cat locked in the closet, although they had instructions not to close the closet doors, we even left notes in the doors not to closed them in both English and Spanish and the cleaning was not at all what I was hopping for, the left a dirty rag in my bathroom floor, you could smell their food (they used my microwave to warm up lunch?). We kept give them excuses, maybe they can't read etc. The third time they came, they broke a glass figurine and put it back as it never happened, but what make us fire them is our talk to them, my husband call them and first a nice lady answered who after listening turned to be not so nice anymore, we requested to speak to the manager and she said she was the manager, then we requested to speak to her superior or the owner of the company and she said he was not in, we requested a call back, after not receiving any call backs for a few days my husband called again, and this time he was in. The rudest most obnoxious person we ever herd, I could not believe this person, he blame on us trying to get out of the contract and all we complaint about never happened and were only excuses. His attitude was extremely rude he was yelling at my husband, we did not wanted money back we just wanted to make them aware of the situation so they can do better. Needless to say we fire them that instant. People be aware that they have questionable clauses in their sign up forms (30 days cancellation notice) for house cleaning service???, To the low advertise price add $$$ for key pick up (which has to happened regardless), gas charge, be aware!!! read more
