COFFEE SHOP INSIDE the DELI (3 stars) I was under the impression this was a coffee shop/roaster but I was mistaken (maybe, maybe not, I don't know). This is inside a mom and pop deli ran by the same 2 owners and not so much a coffee shop but a place "to get a quick up of coffee". Finding this place was easy, right off the main road between small offices and warehouses, with a couple tables outside, a sign that says coffee, and the deli. I walked in confused asking someone where is Aperture Coffee and was old inside (Keary Mesa Deli). It seemed like a popular place for both food and coffee. Upon walking in, the place is small with a few seats. I saw only three bags of their brand beans, two owners who are busy with the morning crowd of people ordering breakfast items, a nothing special espresso machine, and not one to really judge but they didn't look like hardcore coffee connoisseur. CARAMEL ICED LATTE ($5.50) - it was average. the strength in their beans was medium roast but I didn't fill any jitter thru the day. The caramel syrup flavor was a heavy pour and covered up any discovery of bean profile. I can pass on the coffee and may come back to try Kearny Mesa Deli for a sandwich. read more

This small little coffee shop can be super easy to miss! It's inside a small deli. When I first walked in I wasn't sure I was in the right place. I got the iced lavender latte and an iced matcha green tea. The matcha was pretty good and tasted matcha-y and not watered down . The lavender latte was also good and not too sweet like some place's lattes. Overall, I'd love to come back but the hours are kind of restrictive as they're not open on weekends and they close at 2PM. The service is friendly and quick as well, and plenty of parking. read more

We were looking for coffee on a Tuesday morning when this matcha place I was trying to go to wasn't open and stumbled upon this gem! I believe it was run by an older couple, who were so sweet by the way! We got the sweet cream latte, sunrise sandwich on a croissant with bacon (came with 2 eggs and cheddar cheese), and a plain bagel with cream cheese. Everything came out quickly as we were taking it to go. There is seating inside and outside and has a very home-y vibe to it. Their menu was simple, which I liked because once the menu gets too crazy it's a bit overwhelming. My favorite item was this sweet cream latte, which is perfectly balanced and not overly sweet like most places when they put sweet cream in their drinks. I am writing this review as I am eating my sunrise sandwich and sipping my sweet cream latte, wishing I had another one for when I finish this latte. This is definitely a place worth checking out. The latte was tasty, with good espresso and a bit on the sweeter side. The southwestern was simple, I prefer a crustier bread but solid taste. Sandwiches come with a free drip coffee, which was smooth and tasty. Cute and quiet atmosphere. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. There was an older Korean couple running the shop, and they were very nice. The shop was not too busy, so we we got our order pretty quickly. read more

It's a small mom and pop coffee shop that is on the corner of an industrial park! That said, it reminds me of the simple, no frills cafes I grew up in and not the fancy modern ones that people like to work in today. The auntie and uncle who own this place are sweet and do their best to get your drink and food out quickly. I tried their cream coffee and a breakfast sandwich and both were delicious! Wow! What a great hole-in-the-wall cafe/deli. I was craving a coffee while in Convoy and found this place on Yelp. I thought it was just a coffee spot but I was surprised that they had a full menu of deli sandwiches/soup and refrigerated snacks! Definitely a great spot to stop by on your lunch. I ordered a sweet cream latte and it's sooo good! I love the touch of cinnamon on top. I love little places like this. We came here on a Friday morning. My husband and I shared a cold brew and an everything bagel with cream cheese. The cold brew was great. The bagel wasn't necessarily anything special but it was large enough for us to share. I really want to return for their matcha latte or sweet cream latte! I visited this place today with my toddler and the owners were so welcoming and courteous! The sandwich was delicious and so was the coffee! If you like your coffee strong I would suggest requesting an extra shot in your coffee. The coffee shop is inside the deli and there's plenty of space for seating down inside or outside. Cappuccino is highly recommended. This place is easy to miss because it is a small café in one of the side roads.

I love this spot. They make great coffee and great food. It's my secret steal away spot before or after appointments. A lovely patio, appointed with nice tables and chairs with shade. I love this place! I always come for their sweet cream latte, I'm addicted. The cream they add to the top is really good and they dust it with a little bit of cinnamon Their food is also really good, they serve breakfast and lunch and they have a large menu. On a Tuesday afternoon my business partner and I were in the convoy area doing some business. We felt like we needed to pick me up so we looked around and found aperture coffee. Never trying to space before we wanted to see what good coffee around here is. They are located in a business Park area so there's not much visibility to them. It's a pretty small coffee shop that has a few grab and go items as well as their coffees. My partner decided to get a sweet cream latte while I chose the golden hour espresso double shots. I really wanted to see how their espresso tasted. My partner said that his coffee was fairly sweet but not overly sweet so he enjoyed it. He did say that he wanted more coffee taste to it. He probably needed to add my golden hour espresso double shots to his coffee. As I sipped my espresso I noticed a little sour twang to it but did have a nice kick. It certainly was a bad a special shots so I'll probably be coming back to try their other drinks when I'm in the area. The baristas were all nice and were knowledgeable of the coffee that they were selling. We had a nice conversation with the barista. read more

This is actually the Kearny Mesa Deli that serves Aperture beans, and isn't an Aperture Coffee store front. While they have a small espresso machine, their coffee is still decent. Made a solid oat milk latte, and the cappuccino was ok but a bit bitter. read more
