WHICH WOULD YOU PICK UBAE CLOUD OR MATCHA BISCOFF? Boba Religion in Clairemont Mesa has me believing in a new kind of "tea-mony" Handcrafted drinks, organic milk teas, fruit teas, matcha lattes, and Vietnamese coffee... every sip is a little cup of happiness Tried some favorites: Lucy Lou -- smooth, sweet, and oh-so-refreshing Ubae Cloud -- fluffy vibes with ube goodness Biscoff Matcha -- a matcha made in heaven with that cookie butter twist Pandan Mochi Waffle + dipping sauce -- chewy, crispy, and seriously addictive
I needed to try this place after hearing all the hype on Tik Toc. It is located in a shopping mall in Clairemont so there are many shopping and eating places nearby. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Upon walking in, it had a cute aesthetic, but I must say it smelled musty to me like it needed a good air purifier or aromatherapy machine to allow for a clean, refreshing, and nice smell to get rid of the musty smell[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Also, they had the air conditioning on so cold, I had to hurry and drink my matcha and go.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The matcha size was small after telling her I wanted to have a large size so I will now have to head to Starbucks and get a large Sugar free Decal coffee to enjoy my day. The matcha was bitter tasting and the strawberry was jelly of some sort which I do not like so I can't say this is a place I will be back sorry to say.

The double matcha was one of my favorites. I enjoyed it very much. It did not have that overly bitter matcha flavor and was sweet in a really balanced way. I also ordered the Oreo matcha, which was super delicious, refreshing, and tasty. The taro milk tea was good, and the ube cloud coffee was delicious. It actually reminded me of the Vietnamese coffee I usually get in Orange County, so now I do not have to drive all the way there to get something similar. The drinks here are great because they are not overly sweet, which is exactly how I like them. I also tried the purple rice yogurt just to check it out and thought it was okay. Service was also quite friendly, which added to the overall experience. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I really enjoyed everything about this place. The vibes, the ambience, the customer service, and especially the drinks were all on point.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I love this place and it is five stars all the way for me.
The shop is hitting their one year anniversary, and they're having an anniversary deal for BOGO free or half off drinks depending on the day you go. Amazing! It's located in the back left corner next to Kotobuki of Hazard Village in Kearny Mesa. There's a huge parking lot with ample stalls for customers. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior of this place is quite amazing. When walking in, we're transported into a medieval/renaissance European vibes. Beautiful![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] For their one year anniversary, my boyfriend and I got their Blessamee (black sesame coffee) and Biscoff Coffee, both 50% sweet. The Blessamee was a bigger size than the Biscoff coffee which was interesting. Probably because of the foam on top. The worker mentioned that all their coffees were Vietnamese styled coffees, exactly what I loved! The Blessamee at 50% was a bit sweeter than I preferred but I got all the delicious bitterness of the Vietnamese coffee which was amazing. My boyfriend said the Biscoff one was a perfect sweetness for him. When I tried his, it didn't have that strong Vietnamese coffee that mine had... hmm. Regardless, we both really enjoyed our coffee. I came here previously sometime last year around with a friend who really wanted to check their matcha drink. I got their matcha with mango (cannot remember the name of it) and my boyfriend got their Wabi Sabi (matcha with matcha jelly). My friend got their Hachi Dori (strawberries matcha with matcha jelly). The matches... weren't that great in my opinion. They were very watery. The flavors weren't the best. My mango and matcha also seemed as if they didn't mesh very well. It was a bummer that none of us got anything besides matcha to try. Overall, their coffees were a winner. Their matcha wasn't but maybe the recipe improved since I last came. Congratulations to Boba Religion for making one year!

The matcha is flavorful, Lucy Lou had a fragrant tea flavor, and the pandan waffle was perfectly toasted. It also came a salty butter or something - whatever it was, it complimented the pastry really nicely. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior of this place is what really got me. It's a mix of bright colors, textures and eclectic features. It really makes you feel like you're transported elsewhere and not a boba shop.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Located in an unassuming plaza, there is decent parking. Restrooms located in the back. Service is fine, drinks came out relatively quickly. I'm glad to have come across Boba Religion and may come back someday.
I was so excited to finally come and try Boba Religion! [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's such a cute spot and has a few tables to relax at.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I got the Lucy Lou, which is a jasmine and oolong milk tea with boba, and my husband got the Vietnamese coffee with boba. My drink was soo good! I love both oolong and jasmine tea, and the mix of both was perfect! And the boba balls were a good consistency and flavor as well. My husband loved his coffee; said it was one of the best Vietnamese coffees he's had at a boba spot! We could definitely taste the quality in both of our drinks. I'm excited to try more drinks in the future!
All of the drinks here are solid. On a more complicated scale i'd give this place a 4.0. The service was quick, the staff were friendly and the drinks were unique. This boba shop tucked away in the corner is a hidden gem. The service was good considering that it was in the beginning of the day. The decor was great mixture of classic and modern. Very "instagram" worthy. There are lots of places to lounge. Comfy plush sofas, tables and chairs. I ordered a Green Thai Tea after getting a sample. It was refreshing and light. The boba was delicious and fresh too. I will definitely come back to try more items from their menu.
I visited this cute cafe 2 times this past week and i'd say their pure matcha drinks are their specialty. The first time I came, I really enjoyed their double matcha and matcha oreo. We asked for 50% sweetness for both and it was nice that they had a bottle of cane sugar at the counter if you wanted to add a bit more sweetness to your drink. The second time we came in, we were interested to try their fruit matcha creations. We ended up getting the hachi dori and mono no aware, but were a bit disappointed. The fruit flavor overtook the whole drink and was a bit too sweet for my liking. The boba shop had a vintage-eclectic vibe and reminded me of an art gallery. Very cute photo ops!
Really rare find for boba and quality matcha drinks here in San Diego! I've come maybe twice to lounge and get some work done at Boba Religion. The staff is really kind and helpful, but the shop can reach high volume when it is busy. If you were looking into their matcha creations, I'd recommend the double matcha over the fruity ones, as sometimes the fruit in the strawberry matcha puree is too sweet or tarte depending on the ripeness of the fruits. It's much more unique compared to boba shops in the area. Their menu is more diverse and the decoration is picturesque and totally picture worthy.
It's my first time coming to Boba Religion and upon walking in felt like stepping into an Alice in Wonderland-type world -- almost whimsical, cozy, and the decoration is perfect to fit the aesthetic. The vibes alone pulled us in, but the matcha is what's gonna have us come back for more!! They have a whole variety of drinks with such fun names, my boyfriend and I got the Wabi Sabi (matcha with matcha jelly) and the Biscoff matcha, and both were sooo good The matcha was so smooth, rich, and not overly sweet, and the matcha jelly added such a nice texture without overpowering the drink. The Biscoff matcha was creamy, and had the perfect amount of biscoff flavor that made it lowkey addictive lol. *additional points for already including oatmilk* You can tell the drinks are thoughtfully made, and I love that the flavors actually shine instead of being drowned in sugar. It's also the perfect spot to hang out and take cute pics! The workers seem really sweet too as they had helped us with a few questions we had about the menu! Definitely will come back here soon to try more drinks!!

Best matcha ever. I absolutely love this place. We decided to try a new boba place and thank goodness we did. The staff were nice and quick with our drinks. I loved the checkered floor and the overall design and theme of the boba shop. Biscoff matcha: (9/10) a little too sweet so might get 75% sweet next time. Very picky about my cold foam but this one was absolute perfection! I liked the biscoff cookie crumbs on the top. The matcha was super delicious and refreshing! In conclusion, you MUST try this hidden gem! So worth it! My whole family loved their drinks. Def coming back! read more
I stopped by Boba Religion for a quick drink. The employees were friendly from the start, and the shop has a really nice vibe. It feels like the kind of place where you could sit down for a few hours to study or catch up with a friend. Their menu has a little bit of everything too. Fruit teas, milk teas, matcha, plus a few small bites. I ordered the Jasmine Milk Tea with boba at less sweet. Honestly, it was a letdown. I could barely taste any jasmine. It mostly tasted like watered-down milk. The boba didn't help either. It was super mushy, which usually tells me it had been sitting for a while. If I'm paying extra for a topping, I expect it to be fresh. That's something I think every boba shop should get right. I wouldn't order the milk tea or boba again. I am still interested in coming back for one of their matcha drinks because the shop itself left a good impression. Hopefully the drinks are a little stronger next time. read more

Super cute and unique boba shop!! I feel like all the boba shops nowadays have similar aesthetics/vibes, so it was a refreshing change with the whole Alice-in-Wonderland theme that they have going on here. I came to Boba Religion for a pop-up event, so it was especially festive and crowded. That being said, the employees were working diligently to get all our drinks out, and I was greeted with kindness despite the chaos and delays. I ended up ordering a limited edition drink, but it was basically a strawberry lemonade with edible glitter. My drink was really pretty, just look at it! It was rather sweet at the bottom with the strawberry purée, but it wasn't too bad once mixed up. That being said, I would recommend adjusting the sweetness level. On a last-minute note, the parking here is easy; there's a huge lot in front. Although Boba Religion is not super close to me, I would definitely bookmark it to revisit if I'm in the area. Maybe they'll host more events in the future; that would be so fun! read more
My husband and I love Boba Religion and have incorporated it as a stop/reward during our evening walks. The milk tea is delicious but our personal favorites are the Blessame and Forbidden Fruit. We recently tried their bubble waffle and it was so delicious and different from other bubble waffles we've had. It was chewy and the perfect amount of sweetness. The staff is always kind and friendly and they're experts at their craft. I like that they have board games and comfy seating areas. You can definitely come with a big group to chat or study. read more
This is such a fun and unique boba spot. The decor is super cool and creative, giving the place its own vibe that stands out from your typical boba shop. I like their Double Matcha and Heavenly Dragon drinks. 75% sugar is the perfect sweetness level for me. Their Pandan Mochi Waffle is perfectly crispy, and the salted cream dipping sauce that comes with it pairs really well. They also have games available, which makes it a great hangout spot with friends. You can sip on your boba, chillax, and have some fun while you're there. I had some visitors in town who wanted some fruit tea while I wanted matcha, so I decided to go back to boba religion! I remembered being pretty happy with my drinks and the amount of options my last visit. I'm SO glad we went! My matcha looked so good that my cousins decided to copy me instead of getting a fruit tea. My favorite was the strawberry matcha, while there's was the double matcha! The biscoff matcha was good too, but I just naturally gravitate more towards a strawberry. I'm still thinking about it tbh. Our barista was super nice and helpful as we were thinking out our choices! This place is cute, clean and great customer services. We got pumpkin spice latter, strawberry smoothie and matcha Oreo. I love my matcha Oreo. It came with matcha jelly which is very good. We went here on a whim one Sunday after I saw the reviews online searching for a Boba place. We loved the inside as it looked like it would belong somewhere on Adams or University in normal Heights or North Park. This place is pretty good. I really liked the eclectic furnishings around the interior of the space. I had the iced "Black Sesame Coffee" with a lighter version of Vietnamese Coffee for $7.25 plus tax. For a snack, I also had a "Pandan Mochi Waffle" that they offer for $7.50. The iced coffee was quite delicious and large. It was a little heavy on the ice, but the coffee flavor was terrific. The foam on top was light and airy and delicious. I liked the toasted sesame seeds on top. It was a great coffee drink all around, and I would certainly look forward to having it again. The service was very friendly. The young lady at the counter was very informative regarding the business operation. She made some great suggestions. I look forward to trying the oat based matcha latte next. The green waffle was surprisingly good. It had a light crisp exterior and a soft easy pliable inside. It tasted mildly sweet, which I preferred, and came with a white dipping sauce. Came by Boba Religion for their one‑year anniversary BOGO promo and it was definitely an experience. The line was super long (expected with a promo), but honestly it moved faster than I thought it would. Staff kept things friendly and upbeat the whole time, which made the wait feel lighter. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Inside, the shop has cute setups and little games that kept the kids entertained -- a nice touch you don't see everywhere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered the Double Matcha Latte, which was rich, earthy, and really good. Whenever I'm in convoy I want to try a new boba spot. This time I did t get boba because I wasn't feeling well so I stuck to just matcha. We ordered both coffee and matcha latte, biscoff version. I wasn't expecting much my first time here. The location is a little out of the way. We had a purpose coming here--to get boba. When we entered, the ambiance was welcoming. The decor was amazing and felt like a hidden gem. The service was nice. It felt sincere and patient. I liked my drink and would come here again. Their boba was okay. My mom loved her drink. This used to be a good place. I'm not so sure now. 1. Parking is good. It's located off from the busy convoy so plenty of parking here. 2. I usually come early when they open, and they never have boba ready. This is a boba spot, and can't even get boba ready when the shop opens? 3. I come back after they say the boba isn't ready yet. Ok, fine. If I waited for them bobas to be made, I want it to be good. But no, it's always very mushy. I have to wait for the ice to harden the boba a little to enjoy this tea fully. This spot is very cute. Very instagram. They also have a cute dog running around looking for pets. But for MANY times I've been here, it's getting disappointing. Corner location, plenty of parking. Easy to find. Mostly a youth hangout, it looks fun and safe. Place is decorated really nice and their drink menu is extensive. I chose a typical drink for the first visit, next time I will try something new. Good option if you are in the area. read more

Ever since Matcha Love closed down all it's US locations a couple years ago, I have been searching for a place that satisfies my hojicha cravings. I'VE FINALLY FOUND IT, BOBA RELIGION :') x3 I ordered the regular sized Hojicha Milk Tea with boba at 50% sugar, 50% ice and it took a bit to make, but well worth it for the quality and taste of the drink. The overall sweetness I feel tasted like 100% sweetness but it might have been because I added the boba. Will have to come back to test if 25% sweetness with boba is more to my liking, but overall I'm still so extremely happy with my experience. I really loved the Hojicha Milk Tea and I am definitely coming back for more!! read more
Checked this place out since it was close to work (walking distance). I was looking to get a bite and a drink but as I entered I didn't see a menu for food which was a bummer because usually boba places offer food/snacks. I ordered the forbidden fruit I believe it was called and it was a really good drink. The atmosphere of the shop was really cool and different. Gave me mad hatter vibes. Love the boba! Got a jasmine green milk tea with boba. I'll probably get less ice next time. Service was 10/10! Greeted right upon walking in. Ambiance is 10/10! So different and unique. Great place to do some remote work or meet with friends. Love the location because it's close to the freeway. Will be back. read more

Such a colorful cafe for boba! Makes late nights exciting to have some milk teas and boba. The logo is super cute and there's a lot of specials on the menu. Fast service and seating inside if you want to stay. The strawberry milk tea was tart and sweet and not too milky. Boba texture was good as well. read more

Randomly stopped in this business parking lot after getting lost and re-entering an address on Google maps. I saw the word boba and decided to stop by. Pros: -beautifully decorated interior- lots to see visually -seating is a mix of beautiful fabric chairs and couches. -friendly staff -delicious drink!
