I'm a dog lover but still decided to try 3Cat based on a recommendation from a friend of mine. Came in and right away you can smell the sweetness, you can bropaboy catch diabetes is you sit in here for long periods of time lol. Jk The place is cool and decorated with 33 cats arranged throughout the store. The crew works hard and pushing drinks out as fast as they can. There are displays that tell you when your drinks are ready but aren't truly accurate. My drink was to take 28 minutes which stressed me out but actually came out in 16! The drink was delicious and very sweet. No complaints here. I downed it before I made it to the Pink Curebound Concert. I wouldn't hesitate to drop in here again. Be back soon.
Overview: very busy, long wait, but interesting and yummy drinks ---- Cheese Berry $7.99: - Berry Smoothie, Berry Puree, Biscoff Crumbs, Cheesecake Cream - tastes like a blueberry cobbler in a drink form - I liked this one the best - indulgent, fruity, creamy, worth the calories Mochi Mango $7.49: - Not sure what type of smoothie (maybe mango?), Milk, Fresh Mango, Handmade Rice Mochi, Whipping Cream, Wafer Crunch - Drinking the mochi was an interesting sensation - the drink tastes the best if you mix it all up together - They say they have oat milk available on the menu and only after waiting for 20+ minutes when they notified me that my drink was ready, they told me they don't have any and there's no other milk alternatives - minus 1 star bc if they had run out they should take it off the menu or have a sign by the ordering kiosks - creamy mango flavor, thick texture bc the mochi ---- Notes: - parking is located around the corner and in the back - order from the kiosks (there's 2 of them) - adjustable levels of sweetness - seats available inside but can be very crowded - takes a while for drinks to be ready bc they're so busy but they give you a time estimate which is fairly accurate - kind of chaotic ambiance bc there was so many people inside waiting for their orders - the decor was cute and cat-themed ---- Overall: I'd come back to try their other drinks, be prepared for a long wait, and they might not have any milk alternatives
GET THE GRAPE PEAR DRINK! The pear jelly is sooooo good!! The mochi topping is so interesting. It has a marshmallow texture. This is an unassuming location on Convoy. Actually it's a bit sus next to a liquor store. The store owner comes out to yell at you if you park in front of his store. (Not me but I've heard) Credit card only; order on kiosk Pro tip: order online ahead of time! Then you don't have to wait in the line. The bathroom in the back is so disgusting. I hope they clean their kitchen better than they do the restroom.
I placed my order at 8:46 and waited till 9:16. Person who was handling out orders completed a bunch of online orders and a bunch of in person orders. I understand that it was busy (for online orders. There wasn't too much traffic in store) but they should check the order board to make sure items are called out and none were missed. I stood there for thirty minutes and then decided to check the status of my drink especially since drinks after me were all completed. I asked and the guy handing out order gave me a "matter of fact" comment, "Yeah your order has been ready." Yeah well how in the world would I have known that if you didn't pin in my order as completed? I told him up front and pointed at the board, "I didn't know since the number is still under In Progress." He just turns to look at the board and goes "Oh." I took my drink and left. I think what upsets me over the attitude was that he saw me standing there for an absurd amount of time, walked past me once for something, and didn't bother asking like "Hey you've been standing here for a while, can I check your order for you?" It doesn't take a lot of effort to initiate good customer service, but blatant lack of customer service and the additional attitude is what leads to feedback reviews as such. Will unlikely be coming back. I liked the drinks at 3Cat but this was such a negative experience.
I finally made it to the shop after hearing good things about it. It's clean inside and not busy when i visited. I ordered Osmanthus Oolong Milk tea, less sugar and no ice. It's perfect for me. I liked that their tea actually taste like tea and not too milky. I'll def come back to try other flavors. The parking lot is small so it could be an issue but it's hard to find parking everywhere in that area

The parking lot was completely full with other vendors basically fighting for space, so we decided to order online and pick up instead. 3CAT Handcrafted Beverage offers a wide variety of drinks, especially their specialty milk teas, fruit teas, and layered drinks with toppings like panna cotta, mochi, and cheese foam. Pro tip: just park on the street if you can, it'll save you a headache. We waited in the car for a bit before heading inside, and immediately it felt warm and uncomfortable. Even after 15 minutes past ordering, our drinks still weren't ready. There are two screens showing order status, one for in-person and one for online orders, and you order through kiosks. There is seating, but it's limited and honestly not worth it. We managed to grab a spot, but the bench was filthy... hair, dust, and even a live bug. We got up immediately. We waited another 15 minutes before getting a text saying our order was ready. When we went to the counter, they couldn't find one of our drinks. It genuinely felt like question marks were forming above her head like a cartoon. The pickup area was super disorganized, and it turned out the text was sent too early and our second drink hadn't even been made yet. They took our first drink back and told us to wait again. By then, our seats were gone, so we were just standing there with no time estimate, no urgency, just waiting... for another 10 minutes. By the time we finally got our drinks, my matcha dragonwell panna cotta drink was basically room temperature with condensation all over the cup. Likely from the lack of AC and just sitting there too long. That alone was frustrating. Taste wise, everything was just okay. Definitely not even top 5 boba in Convoy. The dragonwell matcha panna cotta tasted like milk with a hint of green tea. Even Starbucks has a stronger matcha flavor at this point. The boba itself was chewy, which was one of the few positives. The panna cotta was mid, more like a basic egg pudding, and I could barely taste the cheesecake cream. The mochi Oreo drink was better. It came out fresh since it was the one they had to make still. The mochi topping was actually really good and I preferred it over the boba. The Oreo drink itself was solid, but it's also a pretty simple drink so it's hard to mess up. Overall, this place feels overhyped. Between the long wait, disorganization, and lack of cleanliness, it's hard to justify coming back when there are so many better options nearby.

I love their mochi, it's not exactly like the japanese chewy form, and more of a pudding with some added chew which is perfect in a drink. It's creamy, and refreshing, and reminds me of mango sago in a cup. The only quip is that sometimes it's hard to drink because so much is packed into it, but like I said, dessert in a cup. A fair amount of seating and it's cute inside. Although the parking isn't the best. Also, be weary of the lines. They put attention into their drinks which is awesome for the customer, but not the best when it comes to waiting in line!
Love 3cat. I always get the mango mochi. Thanks to my friend Cheryle for putting me on. I don't know how they make their mochi but it's so good. Love the slight chewy texture of the mochi and the fresh chunks of mango. I don't care much for their milk teas. I prefer a regular milk tea elsewhere. Giving it 4 stars because the wait times can be long even if you order for pick up. Also, they do not clean the tables and the bathroom fast enough. It can get real busy here at night especially on weekends. If you don't want a long wait, I'd go early in the morning or something midday. Parking is a hit or miss since they started charging for parking in that plaza now. 3cat only has a few free designated parking spots which get full fast when they are busy. So that leaves you with street parking if the parking lot is full.
Mochi Matcha my order is either Less Sugar with additional Cheese mousse foam or less sugar and no cream top I opt out for the whip to feel less guilty. Hold your breath if you go to the bathroom because it's super dirty and stinky odor from human feces. I don't think any employees clean the bathroom throughout the shift. 3 cat should probably look into that in terms of cleanliness. Thankful there is even a bathroom to be again. I'm just disgusted every time I use the bathroom. I've never came to the bathroom "clean". Tables are never clean either when coming so if you value cleanliness like me go to the bathroom if it's in service and get tissue from the front and get some soap to clean it yourself or bring your own personal spray. Overall, 3cat has really good beverages. There is plenty of people around any time of the day and even if it may not be clean at least the beverages taste good enough to make a 30 minute drive depending on where I'm coming from.
I've visited several 3 Cat locations, and I've found that the service is consistently friendly, polite, and welcoming at every store. The only difference I noticed is that the tea at the Kearny Mesa location isn't brewed as strong as it is at the other locations. I still ordered my favorites today: the Jasmine Milk Tea with double mochi and the Matcha Smoothie with oolong jelly and mochi. Both were still enjoyable. Every 3 Cat location has a simple, clean, and minimalist atmosphere. They also make drinks very quickly, so the wait is usually short. The only downside is that the parking lot is quite small, so finding a parking space can be a bit challenging. read more

3CAT has some of the best drinks in Convoy, but be prepared for a bit of a wait. My favorites are the mango mochi (definitely get it less sweet) and the matcha--both are so good and worth trying. The only downsides are the price, the long wait times, and the parking. It's almost always busy, so you may have to park on the street or in another plaza. The shop is also pretty small, and sometimes the AC doesn't seem to be working, which makes it uncomfortably warm inside. Shoutout to the staff because they're always working hard--they seriously deserve a raise. Overall, I'd recommend ordering your drinks to go. Despite the crowds and higher prices, the quality keeps me coming back. read more

I come here often. This is the first time I've ever experienced that this has been extremely watery. Little to no mochi. Not good. Service was normal - a bit of a wait since I came during primetime but that was expected. read more

Currently writing this review enjoying my dragon well green tea and jamming to old Justin Bieber and Rihanna and other 2010 classics :) good vibes and drinks out here! Saturday at 12:30 is not busy at all and seats are easily available. Ordering and customization is easy on the large order screens, and it took about 10 min for our drinks to come out. Overall a chill place to hangout with high quality drinks are high quality. drinks ordered: - Mochi Mango 3.5/5 -- very yummy but a thick texture, which is a bit intrusive to the drink experience. But the top layer of cream and mango is tasty - Dragon Well Green Tea with Matcha Mousse w brown sugar boba 4/5 -- dragon well is a new tea selection, which is supposed to be a nutty and toasty green tea. The matcha mousse has a VERY strong matcha flavor! and pairs perfectly with the drink. I got minimal sweetness and it was perfect for my taste. I also added brown sugar boba, which was tender and chewy. - Mango Sweet Dew 5/5 -- the natural mango flavor and sweetness was quite yummy, added pear jelly which was a nice topping to add to the fruity vibe read more
Don't be afraid to visit due to limited parking. I've been putting it off but I found out there's parking in the back when I got there. Ordered from the kiosk, waited for 15 minutes for the drinks. The tea was just ok imo. The seating area is nice with lots of chairs and tables. I can't say anything about the service. Someone called my name and pushed the drinks out so that's about it. Parking 3/5 -Limited parking spots in the adjacent plaza, not the easiest parking situation tbh Service 5/5 -I ordered using the iPad in the cafe, there's the option to come back to cafe for pick up upon receiving text notification but I just waited because it didn't seem busy(Friday afternoon). My order came out in about 3 minutes and staff was friendly. Food 4/5 -I ordered the Mochi Mango(keep cream top, minimal sugar). This is my favorite drink from a San Diego cafe! The mango comes in a puréed form, so refreshing! The mochi texture is suckable through the straw, suuuuper soft and thinner than most mochi you usually eat which makes it so fun to drink/eat. I do wish there's less of the icy slushie part of the drink and more of the mango and mochi bc those are the best parts. It also comes with a whipped cream top and little bits of cookie crunchies, both really yum as well. Ambiance 5/5 -The cafe has a generous amount of seating and warm lighting, chill spot to chat and hang out. read more

You get text notification that your drink is ready! The mochi barley burst is really good, mochi is soft and barley burst a good contrasting texture. First time finally actually trying this place because the parking for this plaza is just sooo hard to get and then the side streets are decently packed from various businesses too. Once you get inside, there's quite a lot of seating compared to how hard it is to get parking. There's multiple ordering kiosks to lessen the wait time. I tried their Rice Frost drink because it sounded unique, haven't seen a sweet fermented rice drink at other places. It tastes pretty true to the description! They have this water chestnut popping boba in the drink too, which I'm glad I didn't swap for something else since it was satisfying in taste and texture. read more
This place is very popular. I ordered my drink at the kiosk and it took about 25 mins to get it. I have to say that the mango mochi is very good. Fresh mango with drinkable mochi. I opted not to get the boba so I can enjoy the mochi. It wasn't too sweet and very creamy. Don't expect much interaction with the staff as they are super busy making all those drinks. read more
I've been a fan of 3CAT since they opened. One of my favorite drinks is the mochi mango smoothie with less sweet. It has a nice balance of tart and sweet. The mochi topping is so pleasantly fragrant of sticky rice. My other favorite drink is the mochi barley burst. The black milk tea is super floral and milky tasting, and I love the barley popping boba. It has a nice texture similar to oatmeal. You order on a kiosk or you can order with your Snackpass app. The wait time on weekends is usually really long and it gets crowded. read more

3CAT is a very eccentric place for Asian-style drinks. This location is in Clairemont Mesa, San Diego, but I've seen other locations in Arcadia and Tustin. You can get boba drinks here; however, they hit you with the "chewy drink" concept from a different angle. I appreciate it, but I had to expect it. If you get their popular "mochi mango" drink, for example, you get a drink with mango and tons of cream, but it's also loaded with chewy, thick rice pudding/mochi-like bites in the drink. The drink leans more toward dessert than drink and, if you are expecting it, it's quite nice. 3CAT is quite busy and it took about 30 minutes for me (10 minutes over my quoted prep time) to get my order; however, I'm glad that I was able to come in and enjoy my dessert. If you order here, then I'd recommend ordering in advance through your phone. read more

Stopped by 3CAT while I was in San Diego, I've been once before. The quality of their tea is great and delicious. I ordered a peach oolong tea with boba with less sugar and regular ice. The tea itself is great, the boba is alright. However, the wait for the drink was 20 minutes. I have mixed feelings about that, because although the wait was very long, the drink is still good quality. The ambiance is nice and they offer indoor seating. read more

I came here with a friend since neither of us had been to this particular boba shop. The place was jammed packed and it took over minutes to get our order. I ordered the jasmine tea lime explosion with oolong tea jelly added, 50% sweet. I liked how the drink was refreshing and tart, but didn't find anything particularly special about it. The tea jelly was a bit on the soft side, almost mushy, and there were barely any added to my cup. If they're going to charge extra for toppings, then at least make it worth the money. I enjoyed my drink, but it wasn't worth waiting over 30 minutes. This goes down as one of those boba shops that I can say I've visited, but wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to come back. It's not bad, but it's just average. Oh, if you like cats, they have a lot of cute cat figurines on the shelves. There are a good number of tables and chairs, but it's packed! I've been to 3CAT a handful times and my experiences have been different each time, a mix of good and bad experiences. But, I return to 3CAT because they have the BEST tasting handcrafted beverages in my honest opinion. First, they use Straus milk in their beverages. It's high quality and I can taste it in all their milk drinks. The toppings are unique and delicious, so can't find a mochi topping or barley popping boba anywhere else! The first few times I've gone to 3CAT were weekday evenings and weekend nights. Those are the worst times to visit, and at one point my drink took over an hour to make. For one drink. Sunday afternoons are still a bit of a wait but not as bad the night time, after peak dinner hours. What made my drink order more efficient was using Snack Pass, as I've been told by others they give you an estimate of when the order will be done so you can time it right. My order was ready by the time I came in! The mochi drinks take the longest to make but are my favorites on the menu! The drinks are always consistent, but the ultimate downfall would have to be the wait. Other than that, 3CAT is among my top 3 boba shops in San Diego by far! read more
I've been here so many times! Each time, there's a crowd that I don't mind. Well one time, I waited an hour with my bff and was a little grumpy but when I got my mochi mango, life was better. 3cat makes every drink to order. Each handcrafted drink is made with attention and love. It isn't masses produced, so I think that's why they take so long. I love 3Cat!! Although this cute boba shop is always packed and busy, their drinks always hit the spot! I would recommend ordering your drinks online way ahead so you can just pull up and pick up your order. Parking is very limited as many spots are reserved for other nearby shops. So, it's definitely easiest to order ahead for pick up. As for drinks, I usually get the Avomango Sweet Dew smoothie less sweet. Very refreshing and a reasonable amount of sweetness! There is seating inside so there is room to hang out, but no public restrooms. Overall, because of its popularity and long wait times, I really consider 3Cat an order-ahead boba spot that I'll keep frequently since the drinks are so delicious. read more

Wow this place is PACKED on a Friday night. We ordered online and came a few minutes before the estimated time, but it took 4-5 mins longer than the estimate. There were like ~30 people standing around inside and outside the boba shop all waiting for their drinks. Luckily there is a monitor with all the order numbers and the estimated time remaining (and you get a text message when your order is ready), so the process seems well-mannered and streamlined. Both order kiosks were out of order though, so online order via phone seems like the easiest option. Both the Jasmine Milk Tea and the Golden Amber Milk Tea (a type of oolong) were tasty and had nice tea flavor. The Golden Amber Oolong doesn't have as strong as a roasted flavor compared to other types of oolong, but a lighter, rounder flavor. I appreciate how the milk teas are made with actual fresh milk (Straus organic milk), and not milk powder. The prices are reasonable as well for using fresh milk (usually boba places charge more for fresh milk). They were already sold out of the brown sugar boba when we ordered, so we tried the agar boba (more like a transparent tiny jelly, not entirely round and smaller than regular boba.) Also tried the Avomango Sweet Dew and it was tasty as well. A smoothie texture with a nice subtle mango and coconut flavor. Next time we might try the Mango Sweet Dew or Mochi Mango which look like the most popular drinks (based on how many cups of mango there were on the counter!) Very very busy so doesn't seem like a relaxing spot to sit and hang out, but cute wood-based warm decor and friendly service despite being super busy! read more

We love the many unique options that 3CAT has to offer! If you are in a pinch, you can also order ahead on the app called Snackpass. * Coco Matcha - 9.3/10 i love the blend of the matcha & the coconut water together. it's very refreshing & i like how the coconut water adds a natural sweetness to the drink. their matcha is also very creamy & you can taste the quality of it. this one of the best boba shop matcha drink i have ever had. i actually came back to get this again!) read more
I've always wanted to try this place after eating somewhere else in the area. I got the mochi mango. I like mochi and the mochi was pretty good. I was able to adjust the sweetness to half. Service was pretty quick considering you order on the tablet. The place was a little small but there are seats inside. I've heard of 3Cat before and I would definitely come back. read more
