Schwinnggggggh!!!!!!! Best of em all. Really wish this was closer but really glad it's close enough.

This is honestly one of the coolest places I've ever been! All different old electronics, airplane parts, cameras, pay phones ANYTHING you can imagine. They have great customer service, Steve gave us an awesome tour of the place (ask to see the light up room) and Adam gave us fantastic prices! Will be back again soon.

This is the coolest store ever! With an amazing selection of stuff to make sci fi props, or rentals for period pieces, Apex is the secret spot I love to share with people. It's an institution and a rare opportunity to have this collection and offering. Thank you Adam and Apex for your amazing store! Could spend hours here!!!

ASKING TO WEAR MASK BUT EMPLOYEES ARE NOT. THATS HILARIOUS!!!

This place is not taking covid 19 protocol seriously. Employee in counter not wearing mask he gets very close to customers exposing customers with spread. I went upstairs to talk to the owner ( melissa ) she did not care about my complaint. I will report this business to health department these businesses not following protocol for safety or wearing ppe to protect customers should be closed out. I also noticed some other employees in the yard not wearing mask they just don't care including the owner. This is not the first time I had noticed they don't care about spreading this virus.

What an amazing place to check out. I wish I could give it more stars but two issues I have with Apex that prevents me from going there more often is the high prices and trying to find items you're trying to find that you specifically need on your laundry list. The people at Apex have been very nice to me and us locals really need to support local mom and pop business's like this, we cant let them close down but I've have problem getting help there that know where the inventory specifically is and where things are without having to spend a hour or two just to look through boxes in futile for just one item. They can point you down a aisle but have see the inventory in those aisles? and most things are loosely organized and random inside cardboard boxes with many different times in those boxes. I cant really blame if they don't know where a 120v LED signal light would or a 120v on-off toggle switch would be as they have an incredibly large inventory of many random items in many different voltages and styles. For me to get the most out of Apex and get the most value out of it, I would need to spend weeks (years?) just going through the aisles, peaking in all the boxes to find out what they first have and where it is. There's a lot of potential. I think I can rationalize the high prices as they get business from film studios, which they prefer and also to be able to offer so many random and esoteric items that are rarely bought that is expensive to warehouse with low turnover. Having said that, most items are badly stored and not organized to the point that its a good chance you won't find it and hope you don't experience an earthquake there :) There's a couple of other similar stores locally (not many) that are sort of similar with same prices but much better organized so its much quicker in & out. Sadly, I often find it easier to just order online or go to another store that has a similar item to save the time going there, spending that long time out of the shop looking for something I need and then leaving empty handed can be problematic. I would very much rather support my local business like Apex but I very often leave empty handed or cant afford the price. I also wished there metal prices per the pound were much better, I see so many scrap pieces that have been there for years because its priced so high, especially the random welded aluminum scrap and metal sheets with many holes in them. They're are many things that you can only find at Apex and are very unique to the extreme so go check it out and see if something works for you but just be prepared.

    Piece De Resistance, Czappa

I have been going here for years looking for electronic parts but also parts that I have used in my art works that I make from found objects. Always an adventure. Some of the large resistors in this piece I got from Apex.

Apex is amazing! If you are looking for nearly any kind of surplus electronics. Mostly old and or vintage, even quite a few antiques!

Brought it back and all 8 backlights are renewed and itll hopefully get many more years. He helped me get it back up and running too. At first things didnt seem to be working, but after tinkering with it i found the issue and i factory reset the tv and that seemed to do the trick. It seems the tv was very cranky from being worked on and having its guts removed it needed a full reset. I wanted to wait a day or so before writing my review just incase something happened. Well, us, for work related transfers and as cinefile-s (some movies - and they're rare were never released passed the VHS era). I started to look into Electronic Repair stores in the area and there aren't many left. Not surprised, but it's LA, so luckily, there are a few left in business, like FET Electronics. I read the Yelp reviews, it was encouraging and bookmarked it! Fast forward 3 months later, we had another issue with a similar Panasonic model that we own, so we decided to give the place a shot. My husband called over, talked to Mark, the owner and felt reassured after their conversation because he identified the issues just over the phone. We stopped by one day and dropped them and met Mark, who is very nice, knowledgeable, a real professional. Not many like him left behind! Too bad that is a profession that is going away. You don't always feel like throwing out equipment that has an issue and get a new one, not always that easy for your set up. Everyone has their reasons! The place is in Burbank, on Burbank Blvd. (close to the Hollywood Way intersection), we found street parking in front. The store might seem small, but it goes all the way back! It's a geek electronics paradise, lots of audio equipment around. Mark also did work for major musicians like Van Halen among many others - check his photo gallery on the wall! Famed clients! We left the VCR-s, called in about 2 weeks and he fixed them, he was testing them to make sure! After a few days we picked them up, he checked them for us, and he gives you a 3 months warranty which is great. If you're in a rush, this might not work out since Mark is busy, but if you're patient, he will get it fixed in a few weeks. It's not cheap, but he gets high quality parts and it makes sense for the repair to last. If you have an old piece of equipment that needs to be fixed, Mark is the guy. Hurry in before he retires! He is very nice, kind, nice to chat with, reassuring, calm, and very, very knowledgeable, you will trust him on the spot. Closed in the weekend! Great experience, great place, hope it will be around for a while. It helped our situation and the location is great! Nice to get great service at a local small business in the area!
