So through the course of this last year, I have been having a lot of issues with my internet connection at my college and I immediately got contacted by management from the company after posting a bad review. They send out a technician the next day who spent several hours trying to fix my issue. Over the course of the next two months, they left a device to track and identify the problem. The issue was ultimately fixed, but I want to emphasize that this company went above and beyond all expectations in handling the issue. I was looped in every step of the way and was treated as a priority. The service since has been perfect and I have not had any issued since the problems were addressed. I would recommend this company not only for the services they provide but mostly for their excellent customer service and dedication to fixing and tracking the problem. read more

living at Estates at East Riverside 1300 crossing plc Austin tx 78741. Internet is awful, weak wifi signals & speed, ethernet is unreliable.They promise speeds of 150mbs download and 150mbs upload. On wifi I'm getting 1.74download, 9upload for ethernet 15download 9upload. Your own routers get blocked, wifi comes from a fixed router locked inside of one of the bedrooms, which the technicians dont even hace accesss to. Network has tight restrictions preventing you from using more than 10 devices; the mac addresses for each device need to be on the internet provider's white list otherwise your device wont connect at all. When you buy new devices or have visitors trying to borrow internet, causes problems when attemtping to add/remove devices from the the whitelist. Needing to constantly call to troubleshoot the network, which normally takes about an hour or more to finally conclude they need to send a technician over to the place. Right now i have a few mac addresses that dont have access to their network and Apogee insists that that my pc's motherboard first needed updated drivers and when I updated them and failed to connect; they said that there's a deeper issue that manufacturer needs to fix. Funny considering that my pc connects to the internet instantly at my friends house. they also said that a "dongle" or a usb ethernet adapter should fix the issue and it did for like 12 hours when i woke up the next day I lost connection again. based on my problems and experience with apogee and from other reviews I would agree that Apogee just takes away access/limits your connection to the internet based on how much you use their network, which ever mac address they see with high internet usage they block then from their network. Apogee is the most useless, unreliable set of people I have ever had the displeasure of working with. They constantly place blame on my college's ITS for "taking equipment" in an attempt to cover their own a**es for their poor service. We have outages quite literally every week, making getting any school work done a hassle. Their customer service is unhelpful. They constantly act as if they don't see an outage in my area, give me conflicting information, or hang up and refuse to answer questions altogether. I can't believe I am paying for this type of service. read more

The outages are not only unacceptably frequent but absurdly long. On the first day of the semester, during a time when all classes were online, the wi-fi went out for the entire day. Multiple times a semester there will be unscheduled outages lasting an hour or longer. During the notorious Texas deep freeze of 2021, their service was out for nearly a week, when every other utility in the area continued to work fine. They also never provide time estimates for repair work, and leave automated messages for when customers call about outages telling them they are "aware" of the problem without actually providing any information. If my school offered me the chance to pay for a different ISP, rather than using Apogee's service included in the tuition, I would gladly do so. Unfortunately we are prohibited from using any other ISPs in our housing. At least I can look forward to an actual decent provider once I graduate. read more

Our apartment switch cable and Internet service from Grande to Apogee. Apogee provide no help and no customer services at all though you can call them 24/7. I had problem to connect my TV to the splitter because it was not installed properly by Grande and Apogee technician did not do anything at the first place when they came to take over this business. Now I have got a TV and need to use the splitter so I call them. They claimed that it was not their responsibility and refused to help repeatedly. They are just sitting there collecting money without any help to their customers. read more

Locally they seem to have a new management company. DO NOT SUBSCRIBE to their service. they are unhelpful, pushy, refuse to offer services that are offered on the internet as theirs, and in general, have poor performance, with a "no care" attitude. read more

While it is true that I originally had multiple issues with the internet service at the time of my posting, they have since drastically improved. I cannot remember the last time my internet service went down at the Ballpark North residence. It seems like they have been working diligently to improve our services. Was it the acrimonious reviews that served as a catalyst for them to avoid further castigation? Who knows. The point: Service reliability has gone up, up, up. Thank you! ------------------- I have this internet "for free" through my apartment complex, The Ballpark on Elmont Dr. I don't know where to begin with the amount of problems that I have had with this company. When you contact them for technical support, keep this in mind: They will try to point the finger at you and convince you that the fault lies with you. You can tell them that your setup has not changed AT ALL since when your service last worked, and they will still find a way to blame it on you. Both my roommate (who has lived here much longer than I) and I have had several "technicians" come out to repair our internet service after each disconnect. Each time they manager to fix it, but then a day later, the service is disconnected again. I am betting that this is their business model: Periodically disconnect customers to limit bandwidth, then go out and apply their fix to customers who whine the loudest. Sure, it's free (not really, since it's included with my rent), but I'd rather PAY for reliable service. I have already subscribed with a different ISP. It's a shame that my apartment manager at Ballpark has his head in the dirt and doesn't realize the technical issues with this ISP. If you're in this area, stay far away from this company. One of your technicians got the keys and the okay from my complex, University Village to enter my apartment without permission. I was in the shower and did not hear your technician knocking on my front door nor my bedroom door. Your technician took it upon himself to OPEN my front door AND bedroom door while I was showering to walk into my room because my "internet box was off". Mind you my TV in my room was on so obviously you could hear someone was in the room. In my TOWEL I asked if anyone put in a maintenance request and he said "no they just got a notification at the office that it was off". So is it really that much of an emergency to walk in to people's apartments and BEDROOMS unannounced? I was having absolutely no issues with the WIFI because apparently I was "connected to someones else's WIFI". You need to implement a system of alerting the customer that you are coming, maybe SCHEDULING APPOINTMENTS like every other service does. Stop walking into people's apartments and taking advantage of students. This would never slide by with adults in non-student housing. Complete lack of respect and making the customer feel a lack of dignity. read more

The internet has constantly disconnected and slowed down randomly for about a week straight. I call the technicians but they never give me a real answer as to what's going on. I have a logbook of times I wrote down when the connection would severely slow down or disconnect, and could confirm that my phone (using wifi) also experienced the same slowdowns/disconnects along with my PC which is directly plugged into the wall. After 3 days of waiting and speaking to tech support people who basically told me to restart my computer a thousand times, I finally talked to a tech that came on site. He told me similar things like the tech support people, and to check my PC. I did these things anyway just for the sake of spring cleaning. They work on the problem for about 36 hours and then I call them back and tell them the problem is continuing. The response is that I should unplug my router and go directly to the port...Really? After I already told them earlier that I don't use a router for this connection and go right into the wall? This ruined my ranking in a video game I've worked on since November that I was just about to finish that week before my career would get more busy, and it threw off my week in general. And now they tell me that a non-existent router is the problem? Icing on the poo cake there. The only positive here is that the speed is in fact quite fast when it does work (fiber service), and that it worked decently for about 3 months. It seems to be inconsistent throughout random times of the year due to mismanagement, or requires better equipment to function properly on a consistent basis for the number of people connecting to the hub for the apartment (or building). If they only have only one hub for the ENTIRE complex, they might want to rethink adding some for each individual building and to make sure the equipment works well enough to provide the service they claim to. If they manage to fix this by Thursday I can change my review to be a little bit more favorable, otherwise this has been a mess. It's been about 2 days and I still have the same issue, and no real explanation as to why (other than what I think was a pretty condescending remark unless he really was just not having presence of mind). If this has been a complete fluke and they can explain that, I will also change the review more favorably. Update: It has improved today, and technicians are taking it seriously now. In this day and age, how can you offer internet that is this slow, in an area that is well populated and can be serviced much better? I happened to be dorming at a college in upstate New York whose Internet was ran by Apogee. The speeds given to everyone were basic and slow. The Wi-Fi didn't work half the time and the wired internet had such a low upload speed that if you had to upload a file to the internet, you were not going to do it in a fast time. Gaming on a console like an Xbox 360 over the internet was not much better because the upload speed was not great enough for you to have a fair advantage with other players. In order to get more speed, it was another $160 which is an outrageous gap between internet plans. I didn't think it was worth it, especially when I get fiber optics at home for much less than that a month and better speeds. This is a company that needs to get their act together and invest in better equipment and provide better speeds. read more

If I could give this company lower than one star, I would. Apogee is the internet provider at my apartment and after moving in and a few days of slower-than-sin internet browsing, I chose to "upgrade" my internet package to their faster speed for $160. Since then, I have inconsistent wireless connection, where sometimes it's so slow it takes 5 minutes to load a page, and sometimes it isn't connected at all. I am constantly having to turn my wi fi off and back on just to try to get some connection. In the past 3-4 weeks since I moved in, I have LITERALLY called their 24 hour support line over 20 times. Initially when I called, they said they would try to send a technician out within 5 business days. 10 business days and 10 phone calls on my part later, he finally did; however, it took 2 calls to the company supervisor in order to receive service. The supervisor apologized and sent someone out immediately: before he came, he called me and told me to try restarting my computer because they needed to "kick me off the server and re-enter me into the system" since I had upgraded my package. I did so, and it worked fine--for the next 30 minutes while the technician was there. He did no actual work on my computer, not even troubleshooting, because at that point it was working fine. That night, however, I began to experience the same problems. According to the technician, Owen, my upgraded download speed was supposed to be at about 8 mbps, and it was running at .28. Yes, that is a decimal. Owen had told me to call him at his personal extension if I experienced problems again, so I did, and left him a voicemail. This was last Thursday. I did not hear from him all weekend, so I called the company again on Monday, still being very patient with the support staff. I left Owen another voicemail. When I still had not heard from him on Tuesday, I called again, spoke with another support staff, who then spoke to Owen and said I would be hearing from him by 7 pm. It is now Wednesday, I still have not heard from Owen, and just called the company AGAIN. This time, the support staff person got an earful. When I asked for the supervisor, he told me she was not available and encouraged me to leave Owen ANOTHER voicemail. He said that Owen had a "heavy work load"; however, I have been assured the past 3 times I have called that I am at the "top of the pile." I am literally at wit's end with this company and about to demand a refund for my wasted $160. BOTTOM LINE: their "3-5 business day" policy is complete bull. If they really wanted to get to customers in their allotted time slot, they would hire another technician. If you have a choice, which unfortunately I do not, go with ANY OTHER COMPANY BESIDES THIS ONE. They have neither internet service nor customer service. read more
