The burger is extremely filling due to the extra protein (bulgogi) in addition to the burger, the zucchini is spears a piping hot, and they serve their soda with pebble ice! The vibe is very casual and chill, definitely try to avoid during peak hours (lunch time and dinner time) as it can get crowded quickly. Stayed nearby at the Residence Inn for a family trip to Disneyland and wasn't feeling the fast food fare near the hotel. Did some quick yelp research and found this spot. It was walkable, but a little bit of a trek. 100% worth it. Staff was super friendly and helped us figure out what to order (parents weren't sure whether they wanted Mexican or burgers). We ended up getting the Bulgogi burger, a bacon cheeseburger, some onion rings, and a carne asada fry. Ok. The food doesn't photograph well for your instagram, but it's delicious. I hadn't heard of Apollo Burger until today, and I'm shocked it's taken me so long to hear about this place! Apollo Burger is located off Chapman in the intersection of Garden Grove, Orange, and Anaheim (technically Garden Grove though). There's plenty of parking, but it can get crowded when the lunch or dinner rush hits. The interior has a bunch of seating, and the restaurant is very bright and clean. The staff were all super friendly, and everything was made fresh and quickly. I got a bacon cheeseburger and a cheeseburger (sub mayo, add pickles and onions), and both were exactly what you'd look for in an old school, diner-type burger. The ingredients were fresh and the flavors were all great. I also got a chocolate shake which I would venture to say was one of the best chocolate shakes I've had in recent memory. I tried the grilled chicken sandwich as well, but unfortunately that was quite dry as they used pieces of chicken vs a full cutlet, so I would recommend avoiding that. This is a great burger joint in OC, and I absolutely plan to come back. If you're in the mood for a diner burger, this place is absolutely the spot to visit. read more

I visited Disneyland during the Lunar New Year, stopped at Apollo Burgers in Anaheim, and I am so happy I had a chance to go! Sometimes after an extended day of being in the parks you are looking for something simple, and different than the theme park food! Apollo Burgers provided me with such an amazing experience! The bacon cheeseburger, onion rings and French fries I ordered were all wonderful. The bacon cheeseburger had a great deal of flavor and was very juicy and the bacon was crisp and the cheese was perfectly melted to hold all of the flavors of the burger together. The onion rings were golden brown and crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside and the French fries were hot and fresh! When you took a bite out of the onion ring, it was so good! The breading was perfect! What was really impressive to me about Apollo Burgers, in addition to the food, was how affordable it all was! The pricing was surprisingly affordable in comparison to what you would pay inside the park. In addition to this the service was excellent! They were very friendly, moved quickly, and were welcoming as well, even though it was late at night! Apollo Burgers was one of the best places I stopped to eat on my entire Disney vacation. You have your main stream Carl's Jr. McDonald's, Jack in the Box, but Apollo's cheeseburger is fresh and better in every aspect. We were hungry and just happened to be in the area when we drove by Apollo Burgers and decided to stop and give them a try. Luckily, we weren't disappointed. It's not very big, but big enough to have a good number of booths. Even though they were busy on a late Sunday morning, we had no problem finding a place to sit. You order at the counter, which is typical of these types of restaurants. I was thrilled to see a beef dip on the menu, which isn't common for similar places. We ordered two in the combo (fries and a drink). It did come to $40, but again, that's getting normal for fast food. They did have Pepsi, and I'm a Coke fan, but I won't hold that against them. After we sat down, they brought up a small plate of chips and salsa, which was a pleasant surprise, and the salsa was excellent. We soon realized why they bring the chips: they're not super-fast with the food. It's not a big deal, and we weren't in a hurry, but it's just something to note. When the food arrived, we realized we could have ordered one sandwich and split it; it was that big! It was also delicious. The beef was more than plentiful, and the bread was soft and fresh, which is how I like it. We ended up taking two 1/2 sandwiches home for later. This was my HS back in the good old days for good burgers & fries and hanging out with friends afterschool. Was working in the area so stopped by for lunch. Same old setting, decor with sport teams plagues hanging on the wall and the seatings are all booth seats. Menu is simple but plenty of choices for both breakfast and lunch/dinner. Great friendly staff with attractive service. Easy order and they asked your name and they brought out the foods to your table once it done. The place is clean and well kept. Parking can be rough especially in the weekends & holidays. I normally would recommend bacon cheeseburger here but I got pastrami sandwich this time. It was good, abit too wet that just makes the bread felt apart. Fries are great and the prices are good for the size. Glad I stopped by and relived and ate the foods here. There were a lot of dirty empty tables and the ladies in the front had a bit of an attitude. My breakfast burrito was terrible! Dry, salty, and bland. I hoped some salsa would help but my friend and I had both asked for two salsas each and they only gave us two total. I ended up letting her have them before we parted ways, unaware there were only two total. On top of that, the salsas weren't even halfway. It was ridiculous and very disappointing. This was my fiancé's stomping ground 20+ years ago growing up in this area. He said nothing has changed except for the price. The burgers are still the same hefty size and taste. He wanted to share his childhood memory with me and wow, great burger! We got the bacon cheese burger and the Bulgogi burger. These were large in size with a crispy toasted bun. They let us customize our bacon cheeseburger and we added a fried egg, a regular cheeseburger, both were combos with one onion rings and the other with regular fries. My only suggestions would be add more seasoning to the fries and the onion rings were slightly overcooked but still good. Our food was brought to our table and the staff kept checking in on us to see if we needed anything else. The place was busy when we got there around noon and it was even busier when we left. I visited this place many times in my younger days. It still does not beat my favorite burger place - Burger Boss - but the flavor here is best in GG town. Order at the counter when you walk in and staff will bring the food out to you. Staff is always very friendly and cordial. There are chillies like the one you get from In-N-Out but you have to ask for them. Before the pandemic, it was placed by the register and helped yourself but now we have to ask. I tried many dishes over the years but always come back to the good old Bacon Cheeseburger - cut in half - grilled onion and everything in it. Apollo mixed their own spices for burger flavor so you cannot find that anywhere else. Not sure if Apollow's beef patty is grassfed/organic/pastured raised. I wished patty was thicker! A Garden Grove Burger Gem! A true charbroiled burger. Still owned by the same family since I started coming here in the 90s. Restaurant makes their burgers to order. To avoid the wait, when I need to place a To-Go order I always call it in ahead of time. I recently discovered Apollo Burgers while attending an event at a nearby hotel in Garden Grove. I have eaten here twice. The first time, I had a bacon cheeseburger combo and upgraded the fries to fried zucchini. I really liked the burger because it's kind of a dry burger where the sauce doesn't drip all over. It was also tasty and had a good amount of bacon in it. The fried zucchini was good, but it was sliced too thick for my liking. It was very filling and I was only able to eat two pieces. My 2nd visit, I ordered a chicken teriyaki plate because I read a bunch of good reviews about it. The plate came with a simple side salad, which was just lettuce with 2 sliced cucumbers and 1 sliced tomato. I had it with thousand island dressing. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy the chicken teriyaki because I did not like their teriyaki sauce. The sauce was not thick and sweet enough for me. The chicken was grilled really well though and I like how they flattened the chicken. The rice has a consistency of sushi rice, which paired well with the chicken. The serving is also huge. One plate can easily feed two people. I would return here for their burgers. Also, if you dine in, they serve free tortilla chips and salsa. Customer service was good and fast. read more

I got a bacon burger combo and they gave me free tortilla chips with pico de gallo when I dined in with my friend, super nice. Burger was nice and plump, exactly what you expect; nostalgic beefy burgy goodness. Bun was soft and toasted, which supported the burger well and wasn't too thick to take away from the ingredients. Onions were charred well and brought out the flavor. Pretty pituresque burger, look like it'd come out of a sitcom where they go to their local burger joint. Fries were hot and your classic thick cut burger fries. These font of fries are a bit boring for me, but that's just my preference. I'll definitely get another side next time. Service was super friendly and quick, and the inside of the place felt nostalgic as if it was locked in the early 2000s. Been coming here for 25 years, since 7th grade. Family owned place, for as long as I can remember. They sponsor a lot of local youth sports, which is awesome(very active in the GG community. They got some incredibly good burgers, wholesome breakfast with generous portions and let's not forget their deep fried burritos and I'm a big fan of that bomb orange bang. Quick service when you dine in and quick to answer the phone to call in orders. This place never disappoints and holds a lot of memories. I'm always excited to share this place with new people in my life. My wife and I enjoy coming here whenever we stop at the seamster/tailor a few doors down(also a fantastic family owned place). Place does get busy around certain times however if you're a local around the area you know why it's busy but again the cooks are fast and the staff is always friendly and any waiting you do is worth it read more
