    The Waffle'nator

Apothica is clearly a local favorite because it was very busy. One thing I learned is that it is best to place your order and pick it up if you want your food to go. Otherwise, expect a long wait. I was told the wait for food was 20-25 minutes but it took 40! Also, be aware that parking is a challenge. They don't have a lot so you have to find street parking - which is scarce. I had to park over a block away. Upon entering, it is a nice quaint place with a lot of traffic. They also must double as an evening lounge because I noticed that they serve spirits from a local RI establishment Rhodium. But of course, it's all about the food in the end, right?! I ordered the Waffle'nator. It is a quarter Belgian waffle with egg and sausage and cheese. It comes with maple syrup on the side but you truly don't need it. The sandwich was absolutely fabulous, albeit small for the $15 price. For that price it should have been 1/2 a waffle in size. I also ordered a vanilla lavender latte and a brown sugar almond latte. Both were solid but had too much lavender and almond flavors, respectively, to be anything other than average. The flavors overpowered what would otherwise have been excellent coffee. If they pull back on the flavor just a bit they will have winners. I'll likely return just on the strength of the waffle sandwich, and next time I'll make sure to call ahead!

Addicted to everything here! Special Churro latte has me hooked! Sweet, pop of cinnamon, deliciousness. The staff here/baristas are so friendly!! Love Apothica!

Another visit to this place, in the books. I love this place the coffee, the protein shakes, the food and can't forget the teas. Always end up leaving with drinks and sandwich for following day. This time had the short cake latte so good. The Cookie Monster protein shake tasted too good to be good for ya. To go I got 2 different flavors of ice tea and crunch wrap all amazing. I can't say enough about this place. Everything I have tried has been a win. The service is nice and friendly. The hippie vibe is right up my alley. Will be visiting again soon.

It's changed hands time and time again. How do I know? I have passed this building I am sure thousands of times! Now, it's in my neck of the woods. It's been on my list to try but i got the push i needed. The Cumberland Library is running 1,000 books before Kindergarten. We spent 11 month working toward completing the program (reading 1,000 books) and we did! As a part of the reward, parents for helping the kids received a gift certificate and I choose Apothica. So thank you to either Apothica if you supported these efforts or Cumberland Library if they spend money on these! Saturday on our way home from the gym- it was Apothica time. On street parking (touch in this area during winter due to snow and ice) but I climbed over that mound of ice to get to Apothica! Immediately I was impressed with the quaint decor inside. Very modern, sheik. Think crushed velvet stood, dark wood, plants, etc... Immediately the smell of cinammon hits you! And the HUGE cinammon buns were the culprits. They looked amazing. I will say the art work on the walls was like a Halloween display. Ehh I could do without that but I do appreciate their appreciation of art. Super nice folks working here. I went with an iced coffee for my husband and i went with a strawberry iced matcha. Let me tell you fellow Yelpers- TASTY!!! I am not used to flavored match other than just sweetened or not. There were about 5 other flavors that I am excited to try. This may be a problem with it being pretty close to my house but as matcha is high priced that will hold me at bay. They have sandwiches and sweets. I will be back. Apothica is winning in my book!

I have to say this place has the best tasting coffee beans I've tried in the area. Strong enough but not over the top. Their iced and hot lattes are delicious. Went back for another after the first. Their seating arrangement for a coffee shop is 100% the best I've seen so far. Great aesthetic, with plenty of seating. Would be a great place for studying or go for a date. Workers were pleasant as well. Outstanding place for coffee lovers!

Third time here. I love it! Delicious breakfast sandwiches and amazing coffees! This place is vegan and therfore all dairy is vegan. But it doesnt taste fake, you wouldn't know. The banana bread iced coffee (See pictured) tastes just like a bite of yummy homemade banana bread. They do offer decaf options for coffee. I did mine half decaf , half regular. They also offer loose leaf teas. The breakfast burrito ($13) is stuffed to the brim with beans, vegan cheese, vegan scrambled eggs, lettuce, tom, onion and a hash brown. The atmosphere is welcoming. Its a bit tight in front when it's busy, but there is an entire additional room with space and tables just past the front room. Just check around the corner. Local artist sell artwork, stickers, mugs and tshirts. Great places to throw back some mimosas or cozy up with a coffee and a book. Staff is chill and friendly. A bit pricey. My large coffee and breakfast burrito came to $23. But you are paying for fresh ingredients, supporting a local business, and food and drink that will leave you feeling full and satisfied for the day. Its not an everyday stop if youre minding your wallet, but definitely a great place to keep in rotation.

    Cassava Crepes

We were intrigued by the only fully Vegan restaurant option for Providence Restaurant Weeks; so we went, and we were beyond impressed. I had the "Crab Cakes" and Cassava Crepes while my husband had the Buffalo Chickpea Toast and Squash Rigatoni. All of them were excellent, but we were absolutely floored, in a good way, when we got the Black Forest Cheesecake. That dessert was beyond decadent, and we enjoyed each individual morsel. WOW! Now that we know about this new hidden gem, we are sure to return soon!!

Cute little cafe, ordered Nutella latte 10/10, vanilla iced latte, strawberry lavender lemonade and a sausage egg & cheese on everything bagel. The lattes were perfect, not too sweet. The lemonade was so good! The sandwich was good as well I'd personally prefer American or a cheese that's not sharp on a breakfast Sandwich. The service was okay, fast and efficient. Parking along the street. Would go back to try other menu items.

Apothica has recently added nights! We went tonight and thoroughly enjoyed the delicious food (tonight's special was Barbocoa Charred Cabbage with refried lentils, cilantro quinoa, and tajin aioli- omg I've never enjoyed or wanted more cabbage!) and drinks (spicy? Sweet? They've got a unique drink for that!). And Black Forest Cheesecake?! Mind blowing. All vegan. Absolutely the best meal I've had out in awhile!!!

What are the prices? I can't seems to find any?

My sausage egg and cheese was $8. My large latte was $6 (.50 was iced and .75 for flavor - so would be cheaper if plain) - hope this helps gage things!

Currently I think of Pawtucket as "the place where Slater Mill and the DMV and Kafe Lila and Machines With Magnets are," but if I spend enough time at KL and MWM, my view will undoubtedly become more nuanced. Machines With Magnets is a recording studio, art gallery, and performance space that has fast become my favorite music venue and possibly one of my favorite places in Rhode Island. The inside is beautiful, with two large rooms decked out in cool white paint and beautiful hardwood flooring (one floor is stenciled with an absolutely stunning pattern). Art of varied quality adorns the walls. I have now had the pleasure of attending two shows here--an electronic music performance and Quintron + Miss Pussycat--and I enjoyed them both. Watching bands perform with art as a backdrop is a pleasure. The sound is good and the venue is run fairly efficiently. At the latter show, they quickly cycled through four bands by alternating the rooms in which each band performed. Very smart. The crowds are fun and interesting. Drinks, Dunkin' Donuts coffee, and even pizza are sold for reasonable prices. During my first visit, a friend turned to me and said, "I wish I lived here." "I wish I could DJ here," I replied. Until either of these things happens, I'll be stopping in periodically for more music and art. You should, too.

You walk into the space & the first thing you see is a gauntlet with swinging "axes" that you need to run through without getting hit! I kinda wish everyone had to do it to gain access but it is one of the many fun games/adventures from Level99. The special menu was $25 for a pizza & 2 beverages. Upon recommendation of our delightful server Kobe, we opted for the Hot Mess: ezzo cupping pepperoni, piri-piri sauce, fresnos, queso fresco. Pizza is Detroit style & the edges were perfection, I could have used a bit more sauce but the piri-piri drizzle was fire. We both had a glass of wine. We were in the mood for a nightcap. I selected a coffee stout, Jolly Woodsman by Banded Brewing. Our server asked if I wanted a taste before ordering a glass, I was happy that I took him up on the offer - it wasn't my favorite. I was laughing with him that hubby & I are beer weirdos - we like the lightest & the darkest beers. He offered to bring me a taste of the Night Shift Brewing's Imperial stout, Dynasty. And along with that, he also brought the two lightest Night Shift Brewing beers. We loved all three of them! I would definitely go back for the pizza & the beer but the games are calling my name!

Not the kind of place I really want to sit in and enjoy a cocktail. Dungeon like. The music is loud hip hop, not something I mind, but worth noting if thats not for you. I sat at the bar, and honestly didn't feel like it was super clean. I don't think the counter had been wiped down for a while. Staff were doing their best but seemed overwhelmed on a Saturday night. I was watching them make the cocktails and did not feel like it was very sanitary. They've got one small sink they're rinsing everything in, they were chucking stuff, literally chucking and slamming metal. They were dumping out people's drinks into the same side of the sink and then rinsing in the other side. But stuff was splashing into what should be the clean side. It's not a good setup for a cocktail bar. The cocktail menu had 8 drinks on it, 2 they were out of. Nothing had whiskey in it. I got a drink called Darjeeling something. Really didn't like it, didn't taste balanced and it looked different than someone else's who ordered the same thing, not sure if the bartender forgot an ingredient. The bartender also wasn't tasting the drinks which I usually see to ensure it was made correctly. This one had curry in it as a listed ingredient and it was just way too strong a flavor. It was a rum drink with some mezcal but it just tastes like mezcal and curry powder. The place was pretty busy but people were coming and going frequently. There's only one bathroom which really isn't enough for a bar. Seems like there's potential here but I didn't like the menu offerings and the sanitary concerns leave me with no desire to come back here.

Every bite had great balance and you can tell they really care about the ingredients. One thing that really stood out to me was the seating. The Frida booths in the corner are the most comfortable restaurant seats I've ever sat in in my life. I could have stayed there all night. The atmosphere overall is fantastic. The lighting is mellow, the music is at the perfect level where you can actually talk without shouting, and the bartender was well-stocked and clearly knows what they're doing. Another bonus is the view. Looking out across the street at the park lit up at night is gorgeous and really adds to the vibe of the place. We started off by asking our server, Lana, what kind of tequila they use for the margaritas, along with other than lime juice, if they use triple sec and/or sour mix. My s/o orders a passion fruit margarita with Lalo tequila. I proceed to order a pineapple and hibiscus tequila with their house tequila, Lunazul. We then order Patatas Bravas, a scallop taco, duck taco, queso carne and coconut shrimp taco. The food came out within 5-7 minutes from the time we ordered and our drinks weren't on the table yet. Mind you, it wasn't busy. There were only like 3 people at the bar. Patatas Bravas were lukewarm and no Bravas sauce anywhere. It tasted like regular potatoes with cojita cheese on it since they added sooooooo much. It was smothered. As far as our tacos, everything was overcooked. My shrimp taco was chewy and dry, the scallops as well. The carne taco was sooooo dry. Everything was just completely off. The drinks finally came and my s/o drink was good, mine, not so much. I didn't taste much hibiscus. One of our friends that was also dining with a party of 8 said she's been here 3 times and tonight was very off. Well, we get our bill and Lana, our server, charged us both for Lalo tequila when we only asked for one. I specifically said I was fine with Lunazul. So my drink came out to be $19 rather than the original $15. Definitely not going back and not recommending it to anyone else. There's so much better elsewhere.

They were a bit dry, but they were crispy on the outside. The burger was a bit underwhelming in flavor, but cooked well with fresh toppings like lettuce and tomato. I think it could've had more of caramelized onions, blue cheese, and bacon to really get all the flavors to shine. The fries were great, sweet and soft but crispy. We enjoyed our time here.
