I rarely leave negative reviews, but our experience at Camelback Resort over Memorial Day weekend…read morewas disappointing enough that I feel compelled to share it. My family and I checked in on Friday and were scheduled to stay through Monday. We arrived in time for the advertised 4:00 PM check-in, only to find the resort completely overwhelmed. After waiting approximately an hour and a half, our room was not ready until nearly 6:00 PM. On Saturday, we spent the day at the indoor waterpark and rented Cabana 1. The highlight of our trip was our waiter, Andre, who provided exceptional service and was friendly, attentive, and professional throughout the day. Unfortunately, the rest of the weekend took a turn for the worse. Later that afternoon, my daughter began feeling unwell and developed a fever. I went to the resort gift shop looking for children's Tylenol or ibuprofen, only to discover they carried neither. For a family-focused resort catering primarily to children, I found it surprising and concerning that basic over-the-counter children's fever medication was not available for purchase. When I asked for assistance, I was handed a first-aid packet containing aspirin, which is not something I would ever give to a child. Because my daughter's fever continued to rise, we made the difficult decision to cut our vacation short and return home that evening. Before leaving, we arranged for bell services to assist with our luggage from Room 529. I personally packed all of our belongings and helped Evan, our bell boy, load everything onto the luggage cart. Once home, while unpacking after tending to my daughter, I realized a mesh bag containing several items was missing, including my husband's Burberry swim trunks, my daughter's RuffleButts swimsuit, and her water shoes. The following day, I contacted the front desk, Lost & Found, and asked to speak to Evan at the bell services department. My information was taken, and I was told someone would call me back. No one ever did. I followed up again several days later and received the same response. No manager was available, no Evan, no answers were provided, and none of our belongings were ever recovered. While losing personal items is frustrating enough, what was most disappointing was the complete lack of follow-up, accountability, or customer service. Not one person contacted me as promised. Not one manager reached out to address the situation. Between the delayed check-in, lack of basic children's medication availability, and the disappearance of our belongings followed by zero communication from management, this was not the family vacation experience we expected. I can overlook mistakes. I cannot overlook poor customer service and a complete failure to address a guest's concerns. Sadly, after this experience, I would not return to Camelback Resort.

0 stars for housekeeping -- they didn't notice our original shower was broken, they didn't clean…read morethe shower when we requested it when the floor was wet (because the shower curtains are very short). This was by far the laziest housekeeping people we've ever encountered in our lives -- instead of taking the requested dirty towels away and replacing them, they left everything on the ground and just dumped a pile of towels on the sink. Additionally, they barely made the beds -- the sofa bed was ignored while the main mattress' sheets were all touching the ground. Only the kids bunks got remade properly. We passed other rooms and it looked like they actually made the beds, so we probably got assigned the world's laziest person. Food: buffet food is meh. Restaurant food a step up. Stick with dunkin' for breakfast. Ice cream not bad, soft serve is large portions. Mirror maze was basically all broken. Only 2 things really worked when we went in, by the next day only one worked. Pay dirt (mining gemstones/fossils) was a high value activity for my kids - extra worth when you have the 25% discount. Water park is tiny and cold (there's a few small hot tubs), but has a lazy river; slushies standard ICEE brand, mini golf is sad (only like 7 holes maybe). Kids had a ton of fun at the candlestick bowling -- there's a bunch of game modes to try. Only worth if you get the unlimited. Magiquest was 4-6 hours of running around fun and defeating monsters. Wands and attachments are all upcharges from standard. Mostly can only access up and down with elevators so when one is out of order it takes forever. We didn't experience anything outdoors bc of rain.

This experience was pretty much what I expected it to be during Christmas week - overcrowded. Now…read morethat we've got that out of the way, I will say that this is something fun and different to do. Especially when it's freezing outside and you need a way to keep your kids occupied. The hotel is actually smaller and easier to navigate than I had expected. It's only 3 floors, so even though elevators tend to have a wait you can use the stairs to get around which is nice. It's also a short walk from rooms to activities and restaurants. Things I loved - + The cozy lobby with a roaring fireplace and gorgeous Christmas decor + The kids nook in the room that had bunk beds and a tv + The kiddie slide area at the pool + The gift shop which had a lot of great toys, a build a bear and a candy store + That the pool area has a bar. + Fun activities outside of the pool like bowling, arcade, mini golf and the magic quest scavenger hunt + Dunkin' Donuts + A cute dance party for the kids at night in the lobby Things that were meh - + The pool area was so unkempt. Chairs are packed in on top of each other. Staff needs to do a better job of clearing out old towels, life vests and garbage from chairs. It's gross to have to walk by the same old pizza box for hours. Staff can easily do better with this. + I wish they had more activities on a Saturday morning. We saw a schedule that had morning activities on some other days, like a meet and greet with the wolf and yoga. Surprised to see nothing on a Saturday. I also wish the pool opened at 8 instead of 10! + Fireside restaurant. Mediocre food and high prices are definitely not surprising here though. Overall - something fun and different, and definitely worth checking out for a change of scenery. But if you can swing going during a quiet week I'd definitely encourage to avoid crowds.

From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the vibrant atmosphere that felt both family-friendly and tailored to adults. The water park was a huge hit with our two girls, offering a wide array of slides that catered to all ages. Whether it was the thrilling rides or the relaxing wave pool, there was always something to keep the whole family entertained. One standout feature of our trip was the food. In previous resort experiences, we've often found ourselves disappointed by the dining options, but Kalahari shattered those expectations! The variety and quality of meals were truly exceptional. From quick snacks and Starbucks coffee, to gourmet meals at one of their multiple restaurants, every bite was delicious. It was refreshing to find such a diverse menu that pleased my wife, the kids, and me. We also appreciated the thoughtful layout of the resort. It was easy to find comfortable places to relax, and while it did take some hunting , we did manage to find a table each day. The array of jacuzzis was another bonus, with both family-friendly and 21-and-over options. Overall, our stay at Kalahari Resort Poconos was filled with fun and memorable moments. If you're looking for a place that offers a perfect blend of excitement and comfort, this is the spot!

I'm still here at Kalahari Pocono Pines…read more Day-1 We arrived Monday morning at 10 AM. Check-in was fairly easy because there was virtually no one else here yet. When I passed the check-in 2-hours later... The line was very long and the same person was working. They definitely need more people there. I went to use the ladies room after checking in and it was extremely dirty. The cleaning cart was there with no attendant. Went to the indoor waterpark which opens at 10 AM because it's raining outside. The outside was closed. It's the usual indoor waterpark nothing special. The Jacuzzi. Where can I begin? It is an indoor outdoor Jacuzzi. Meaning, you can go straight from the inside through a passageway into the outside. On the inside section.... Only 3-lame-jets were working. PACKED With kids. Outdoor section NONE of the jets were on. I asked the "lifeguard" why the Jets were not on. He said do you want them on? I asked him if he knew the difference between a Jacuzzi and a pool of hot water. He said he would turn them on ... he never did. I cannot emphasize enough, how many children were in there. From a few months old to pre-teens. Horsing around.... I scooped this one girl up that was about to drown 4-years old. She was allegedly being watched by her 12-year-old sister. Her mother was so grateful. Why is the mother not watching her own 4-year-old? I am appalled by this Jacuzzi experience. Hey Kalahari.. Do you think you can have something just for adults? Do the kids not have enough activities to enjoy? No? Do you know how "unhealthy" A Jacuzzi is for children? They have these rules for the kids in the Jacuzzi. Nobody is adhering to those rules, not even the lifeguards. What lifeguard? Jacuzzis are for adults!!!!!!!! We had the buffet for breakfast. We arrived at 11 AM. They close at 12 noon. It was $30 for adults. And $20 for kids under 12. By the time we got there It was slim Pickens. You should not charge me the same amount as everybody else who got more variety before me. Was not impressed with the buffet at all. On the upside. The staff here is very friendly and helpful. Except of course, for the lifeguard who doesn't know the difference between a Jacuzzi and a tub full of hot water. And most importantly, is not adhering to the rules setforth for children in the Jacuzzi. I saved a kid from drowning today.... He should be fired. We will be checking out tomorrow at the prescribed 11 AM. I will add to this review at that time.

Things to know: -GG is only open for the summer season -hours are 10am to 6pm (weather permitting) -no WiFi -free parking -you will be required to sign a digital waiver -you will be limited to a 2 hour time slot and reservations are not necessary -there is a cute little train that can take you to/from the main resort building to GG -picnic tables if you want to bring lunch -benches if you want to bring people to watch you complete the course -there are cold beverages, candy, ice cream, tshirts, shoes, shorts, etc for purchase The reason I am docking a star is because the course is very expensive. $65 for the ropes course (2 hour timeframe) and a $15 bonus zip line add on. Also laser tag randomly was paused for 2 hours with no advance notice which was a bummer.

Camping, hiking, skiing, all things nature and outdoor activities are the main attraction that makes this place popular. I came here for a birthday weekend celebration and I must be honest....I thought to myself ......who celebrates a big milestone bday in all places "The Poconos!? I mean when it comes to birthdays and vacations, my brain is often wired for tropical destinations, beachfront Vistas, or something more at an upbeat pace. But, I must admit. I was pleasantly surprised by my stay at the Mount Airy Casino resort. From the moment that we stepped through the doors, you are greeted with a welcoming hospitality and check-in crew that were very helpful with providing you things to do places to go and see. We stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms and it was very accommodating, spacious with one of the most comfortable king sized beds. The hotel grounds were immaculate very clean. Nothing dated a sleazy about this place that's for sure. The food options, day pool lounge and casino..... were all an added plus++ that made this place even more worth it as well. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here and I was made of a believer. I actallly had an amazing time filled with both fun and R&R....and found myself considering to stay over another night. If you're looking for a relaxing, more low key, five to celebrate special occasion or just for a quick getaway weekend..... you can't go wrong staying here. The only gripe I would say I had was with the in room snacks and wet bar.... You will be charged basically if you touch or even breathe on the items! lol. But all aside,, with the backdrop of a great outdoorsy feel and small town vibe and local eats/shopping.... You're in for a great stay and I would consider returning.....especially since this place is popular during the winter-snow season.

Noone from the employees in the hotel or phone attendants could clearly communicate where to go. No sighs on where the show is. We missed part of it. I guess to print and distribute the maps to the ticket holders were never an idea that came to the organizers or at least to put it in the wall on the lobby, so people can see. Here are 3 things that made the park a horrible experience. 1) The staff at the ride pass counter snapped at my kids after we were waiting in line for 30 minutes just to get wristbands. We bought all day passes online. We arrive at the park and had to wait in a long chaotic line just to get our ride pass in the form of wristbands. We get to the counter and the staff lady is obviously rushed. She's trying to put wristbands on my kids. One of them gets distracted and not paying attention. She snaps at her to get her wrist which was terrible. This park needs to shorten the wait lines for the passes and train staff to be more patient with kids. 2) A staff at the helicopter ride for toddlers and young kids kept constantly yelling at kids to get off a fence. We were waiting in line for this ride with a bunch of other kids with their parents, and the staff lady operating the ride started yelling at the young kids who were standing on a fence because they couldn't see the ride over the fence. They were not tall enough to fall over to the other side nor heavy enough to damage it. The park needs to train staff to not yell at kids from across the ride. The lady should walk over since she didn't even start the ride, and speak respectfully to the kids or their parents to get them to step down from the fence. The constant yelling was demeaning, lazy, and unprofessional. 3) At the last ride of the night, the staff refused access to my wife and 1.5 year old son because the supervisor decided to close the ride a few minutes early. I was waiting in line with my 3 older kids and we wanted to enjoy this last ride together as a family and it was completely ruined because the staff arbitrarily decided to cut the time short even though it was not closing time yet. It was close to 9pm and we were all tired and I didn't want to argue with the staff so we let it go but I spoke to the staff after the ride ended she just kept blaming her supervisor and kept saying it was past 9pm when my wife and knew it was not because I was watching my phone until she arrived. She had to push the stroller to a safe spot and unstrap my son out of the stroller but after all that, the staff just rejected her appeal. It was so callous and cold hearted of her to do that. It was very mean and rude. I'm so ANGRY with how this staff treated my wife and son. This park needs to train its staff to correctly read the time, follow its own rules, and treat parents and kids with a better attitude.
