And even though the cheap ticket is $190 for one days event, the thing sells out in minutes every year. We attempted to book a room at the facility but discovered it had sold out, even though we were investigating this the minute we found out the date. We ended up booking at another resort, ten minutes away. They had a shuttle bus to get you to the Cigar-fest. Why a shuttle bus? BECAUSE PARKING SUCKS! The lots were maxed, we ended up parking halfway up a ski slope. Yah, did I say ski slope? Yes. Which wouldnt be that bad if the lifts were working but having to climb these things to get back to your car can be a workout. Some front wheel drive vehicles were just spinning their tires in the grass trying to get up the hill. " GIT BACK DOWN THAT HILL AND FIND A SHUTTLEBUS!" Stood in line for an hour, smoking cubans with a bunch of other cigar fans. No, theres no cubans for sale here. Once the line got moving, it didnt take long to get inside. What does your $190 get you? You walk in the door and are handed a duffle bag like some kinda drug mule. Its heavy, its blue, it has the cigarfest logo on it. Inside was a heavy ashtray shaped like a tire, with a drew estate logo on it. There was also a humidor, preloaded with cigars, a bottle opener, and a heavy steel cigar holder. The cigarfest 2019 logo was painted on the top. You strap on the dufflebay and configure it so that you can add stuff to it on the fly. You will need it. since they hand you a ticket laden necklace, printed upside down so you can just look down at your chest and read the numbers on the tickets. Each ticket coincides with the numbers on various booths. Where you submit your ticket to the 'guy in a suit', t-shirt, girl in bikini, Rocky Patel, or whoever, and they hand you a cigar. So now you need to find space in your bag for another 50 cigars. How are the cigars? Mixed bag! Theres some mediocre whateveh's, but theres also some really tasty stuff. We visited the CI international super store that was about an hour away, and I picked up a $12 AVO, remembering the last one I smoked twenty years ago, but put it down because, well.. it was 12 bucks for a dlnky cigar, well, there was a free one in the cigarfest dufflebag . Sooooo, yah theres some decent stuff. Is that duffle bag worth $190 bucks? You get a free BBQ. And theres a variety of booze manufacturers giving shot glasses of free beer, meade, whiskey, whatevers. And you get to walk through giant clouds of cigar smoke. Everybody is friendly, and happy to be there. So. Its like paying $190 bucks for a party where you get a lot of free stuff and somebody is gonna win a raffle ticket JEEP. Join the CI Nation!

We usually pay for the 12:30 entrance. The gifts and cigars are worth it. The food is satisfactory and the band is always good. It gets extremely packed so be for warned. You will also need to be patient. The line is very long depending when you get there. Parking is also a chore If you get there late. This year it rained and was a bit chilly outside, but was fine once you got in the building. The tent got a little flooded ijnside from the rain so if you know it's a rainy day, don't wear nice shoes. I would recommend this even for any cigar enthusiast. It's really well worth the money spent. Just remember about pre registering to purchase tickets. You snooze, you lose!

The conveyor belted ramp helps us save our energy as pulling the rubber tube up required one. It was not that high when i reached the top - was very deceiving looking from the bottom. The ramp has about 6 lanes so the line moves so fast. The staff was nice and giving each tuber a good push. There is an option to dive to your tube. The slope was slanted and curving up at the end so everyone automatically stopped. A waiver needs to be signed before paying the $15 admission fare. They gave a tag that is required to wear. It shows that you were given access climbing up to the top. I heard that each rider is allowed to come up and down as many times as he want within the two hour time frame. We get bored at round 4. Kids will definitely enjoy it. Doesn't need to be staying in one of the resort villas to be in. Free parking is available . There is a restaurant by the ticket window that anyone can hang out before it after the tube run. A good place to visit when in the area.

We paid for 2 hours of tubing, but we stayed for one ride, which was a 30 minute wait, so we would MAYBE get to go down the hill 4 times, if we were lucky. Couldn't even be bothered to wait to go down again, it was so not worth it. If they're actually following the 50% capacity requirement now I can't even imagine what the wait times would be like at full capacity. Total rip-off. Save your money and your time, and go somewhere else to snow tube.

We waited in line of cars for about a mile or so, then we were directed to split into two lines. One that entered one side of the parking lot and another that entered the other. After we parked there was a short walk to the field. We checked in, received out lanterns and bought a plushy and a marshmallow making kit. There were lots of food trucks to choose something to eat/ drink. Even though we enjoyed being by ourselves - next year we will come out with a bunch of friends. There was live music that was pretty ok. When it got really dark, everyone released their lanterns. It was a pretty magical experience.

We arrived for the 1:30 session. You do a 30 minute classroom introduction, which teaches you about the track, the turns, the flagger's signals, the turn in points, and all necessary procedures. The instructor knew his stuff, answered questions well, was personable, yet made it clear that we were undertaking a potentially risky activity, and that we must know what we are doing. Next, we walked to the garages, where we looked at one of the cars and got a crash course on all the safety gear, the tach, entry/exit, and driving procedures. Off to the vans, where we were given a tour of the track once the previous session's cars were clear. Even at just 65 MPH, the track is certainly not smooth, yet we learned passing procedures (only if told to do so), entry points, exit points, apexes, and the three different turns. Once off the vans, we suited up, grabbed a helmet, and waited on pit road. Some chose to do the "ride along" first, to get a feel for the track,while most just waited their turn. Drivers were assigned cars based on their hight, as the seats are not adjustable...so when a car that fit you was available, it was your turn! Pictures in front of the car were taken, and then last minute instructions were given before you were strapped in and given permission to roll off. Directions were clear, simple, and necessary. Basically, one instructor drives the 'pace car", while two students follow...so you are in a group of three, playing "follow the leader". No passing, no side-by side action, no seeing who can out-brake the other. It's very simple. The instructor picks up the pace each lap, provided that drivers are hitting their marks and keeping pace with him. If the middle car is slower, the flagman will tell him to move over and let the third car past, so that he is not hindered...and if necessary, another instructor will come out to "pace" the slower car. So what's it like? Incredible. Viceral...had to be there! Unexplainable. The sound inside the car as you work through the 4 gears leaving pit lane is amazing, and once on the track, you just trust this crazy beast will go where you point it, because your logical brain tells you that the car won't handle that well...yet it does. Putting the hammer down on the 600 horses on the front straight and hearing the RPM's scream as you finally get off the gas into turn 1 is incredible. Again, viceral...the sounds, the rattles, the g-forces pulling you to the right...all of your senses on hyperdrive...it goes by too quickly. Once the 8 laps were over, we decelerated and coasted into pit lane, where the car was shut down, the tach checked to see the max RPM (which was 8,000 for me...translates to 160 MPH) and fire suits, etc returned. I can't express how cool this was, especially for someone who enjoys any motorsports, especially nascar. The only drawback is that being the third car in our group- which I was- puts you at the mercy of the second car...for if he doesn't petal fast enough, you may lose out on the opportunity to go faster overall. I was a bit impeeded, but I'm still happy to get to 160! You must be able to drive a standard/manual tranny, have a driver's liscense, and wear sneakers and gloves. Cost for the 8 lap/20 mile run was $499 Monday or Wednesday, or $559 weekend/holiday. Photos were one for $25, two for $50, or three for $55. Costly? Heck ya. Worth every cent? Today, yes. Be back? Definately, some day...at this price, it's worth it, but is definately cost-prohibitative. In all, an experience I will rave about for quite some time!

I understand weather is unpredictable, but what made this situation far worse was the appalling customer service I received when I reached out to discuss a refund or even a simple reschedule. I do not live in the area and was trying to be reasonable in asking for some type of accommodation since I wasn't able to experience what I paid for. Ian, however, treated me with the most disrespectful, rude, and dismissive attitude imaginable. From the second I brought up the issue, he acted as if I was inconveniencing him by even asking a question. He refused to work with me in any way. no understanding, no willingness to discuss options, nothing. His tone was completely unprofessional and frankly condescending. It was made very clear that getting a refund was "not going to happen," as he put it, with absolutely zero empathy or customer care. I've never been treated so poorly when simply trying to get a fair resolution. To take people's money for an event that was rained out and then treat them with such blatant disrespect when they seek help is completely unacceptable. I will absolutely never recommend this experience to anyone and would strongly advise others to avoid it. Customer service should never make a bad situation worse but Ian certainly did.

In addition to classic-style arcade cabinets, the arcade also features skee-ball, arcade basketball, air hockey, driving games, and shooter games. A second location opened at the Palmer Park Mall in Easton December 2023, but it closed in August 2024. My family and I visited the Arcade Era on a recent trip to the Poconos. Both of my young sons are obsessed with arcades, so I looked online to see if there were any arcades nearby. The Arcade Era came up in a search and we all decided to visit one afternoon. Unlike the classic arcades of the 1980s, you don't need a ton of quarters to have a good time at the Arcade Era. Instead customers pay a flat rate for unlimited playtime. You can stay for an hour or the entire day; it's up to you. This arrangement is perfect for my young sons as they are still developing their video game-paying skills and could easily go through $20 in 15 minutes if they needed quarters. My family and I stayed for a couple of hours and we all had a blast. My sons especially enjoyed all of the various driving games. If you love classic arcades then you must visit the Arcade Era!

Hands down the best race for spectators! Over the years I've come to cheer on hubs and my brother…read morein laws at many races including Spartan, Tough Mudder and Warrior Dash. None have been as entertaining and exciting to watch as Savage Race located partially in the woods of a Skirmish course in the middle of eastern PA. There is a spectator fee ($15 online in advance, $25 day of), which I originally thought was lame the first time we were here about three years ago. That was until I saw we as non participants could actually run parallel to the actual course the entire 6 miles!! We are able to be right there in the action and watch so closely as our loved ones did their thing! It was awesome then and it just gets better after I got a feel for the land. If you're a down to get in a bit of a workout and get down and muddy, and probably a bit wet, this is a great race to attend! The kiddos who are actually free to watch love it too! Dress appropriately with hiking boots or sneaks and clothes you don't care that much about. We always bring a backpack with water or Gatorade, clean socks, a dry towel and flip flops. It takes roughly 1.5-2 hrs to finish. If you're not into experiencing Savage so closely, there are tables and chairs as well as some shaded areas near the final course, the Colosses, which is the best! The whole race is very well organized and is family friendly. They are very thorough with their waivers, so make sure everyone has their printed out and has their ID's ready. The area and crowds aren't super overwhelming as many of these races can be. I never worry about not being able to meet up with my entire party afterwards since we're all right there together pretty much the entire way. There's also a nice mix of natural elements and wooded areas too, which also sets this race apart from others. There's always an entertaining dj and a guy who gets everyone at the starting line pumped. The energy is infectious and everyone is super nice! This year they've added more food options such as 2 for $5 tacos to their usual burgers (beef and veggie), chicken fingers, fries and such, but we usually go to eat elsewhere afterward. Your bib price includes a cold beer post race. Parking is $10 for cars and $20 for trailers. Cash only. Just a heads up, you probably won't have reception. Unlike most races he's had to drag me to, this one we all enjoy as a family so much! Always an awesome, enjoyable day!!
