We used to come here every couple of weeks and lately never so we decided to visit. We ordered the jus peachy turkey sandwich (as we have before) and found it lacked the peach jam - there was a small dab on one side of the sandwich. I always liked the beer here & love their Czech One Two so bought a pint for 7.50. Then ordered a half pint. Then ordered a half pint of their black gold porter. When we got the bill I was surprised to note that theyu charged me $5 for each half pint while cost of pints for the porter was $6.50 and for the Czech $7.50. I expected the price to be half of what a pint was like it has been in the past or at other breweries and pubs (Sierra Nevada, etc) We will not be returning. read more

This is a great spot if you are in the area or passing through after a hike, which is what we were doing. They have a big open area inside and I love the patio area outside. AMB makes one of my most favorite beers, Honeydew Honeysuckle wheat. So, I was beyond excited to get to try it on draft. If you like wheat beers, I can't recommend it enough. The bartenders will let you sample drafts, which is always a plus. They also offered flights if you want to have a variety. They also offer wine. They have a pretty impressive menu that went well with beer. Chicken sandwiches, Brussels sprouts, giant baked pretzels. Cool brewery with lots of outdoor space as well. We sat inside at the bar. The bartenders were super friendly and accommodating. My husband got a beer flight so that he could try numerous ones. His favorites were the Long Leaf and Eco Spaceship. I got a glass of Dr. Frank wine; I was pleasantly surprised to find a Finger Lakes Wine here. We love this place! What a lovely place to go sit outside and soak up the sunshine. Or sit in the shade. Or inside. It is all good. We love the selection of ciders and liquor. I personally enjoy the peach quilt the most. But my favorite thing here is the Chimichurri Sirloin salad. It is soooo good. Flavorful, well balanced, not too much of anything. The sliced jalapenos really light the dish up in the most refreshing way, complimenting the flavors. I have had this salad at least 5 times. It is that good. Absolutely love this place! We often go to Sierra Nevada and took our elderly dogs today as a "last hurrah". It was busy as usual and the food choices for outdoor were lacking. We headed over to Appalachian Mountain Brewery (had never been before) and were really pleased!! Immediately I noticed the majority of the tables were under pavilions, which was nice. They had water and napkins, condiments, etc. outside. You can also take the dogs inside where it is air conditioned and they have some tvs. Happy about that because my husband and I were able to watch our NFL games. The staff was SUPER friendly, the food came out quickly and was good, and they brought over some treats for our dogs. Something is up with the beer selection lately at AMB. It is not good. They have 20+ taps but only about 8 beers on tap and all the beers are high alcohol - Think 7%+. They used to have a pretty good variety of different style beers from pilsners, kolsch's, several IPA's , etc. Now it is all heavy, hoppy High alcohol beers. I have been twice in the last month and it was the same deal. Bartender told me they are having supply issues with Hi-Wire Brewery who I guess supplies some of their beers...too bad read more

Great new brewery in Mills River just a few minutes south of the AVL Airport. The food is fantastic and comes out hot and fast. The beer is cold and delicious. This was our first time to visit and the day we chose was a beautiful weather day. Upon arrival we found ample parking due to the afternoon visit. The organization is good but not so much for a handicap person due to stairs if you are sitting outside. The inside is very noisy and I cannot see me ever enjoying this in any situation. Most of the outside seating is covered. The ordering process is very simple. Upon placing an order you are given your drinks and a beeper for your food. At that point you are pretty much on your own to get your food, refills, clean up. .It seems the verity of drink options should please most customers. We tried several different dishes. Wings were good. It was about 40 dollars per person. It is clean and new. But we did have to clean our own table as no employee was on task. read more
