Great morning Asheville! As I begin my transition to NOLA, of course I had to stop by Blue Ridge Tavern for a quick bite to eat and mimosa. So, I opted for a side of bacon and a side of home fries with a mimosa. The service was pretty good and the ambiance was nice and chill for an airport. While at the airport, I stopped by Blue Ridge Tavern for lunch. The airport is small so this place is easy to find. I sat at the bar and was greeted by the server quickly. They had a decent selection of beers on draft. I ordered the cheese steak with fries and it was only okay. The meat was cooked well but the flavor just fell flat. The fries were nice and crispy though. I understand it's the airport so prices are expected to be high, but considering the rather small portions, it didn't justify the price. read more

NOT BAD FOR AN AIRPORT BAR! My margarita was good, but pricy at $14! I guess that's the airport mark up. I will say that the drink was strong! So you do get your moneys worth. This is the only sit down bar/restaurant in the airport. I didn't try any food, but the couple next to me really loved the soup they had! I heard them talking about how good it is. I didn't get her name, but the bartender working on 12/28/24 deserves a raise. She is great. Attentive and kind, and she remembered to remind me when 10am hit bc I am truly not a breakfast person. The chicken salad wrap is phenomenal (in case you read the other reviews, I got extra lettuce and it was super fresh). If you get it, add the bacon. You won't regret it. The food here is great. However, they have fundamental business issues to resolve. Case in point, the prices published on thier digital menu board are not correct. Service was ok, standard! The food was bad even for airport food standards. Sweet potato fries tasted like the oil had been reused a million times, and the "Cuban sandwich" was a joke. I'm not mad at this place It's the only food to eat at the Asheville airport except Cinnabon and I don't count that as food. The Blue Ridge Tavern is simple but has everything you need. Good service, stiff drinks and a small food menu. I've gotten the breakfast burrito on the past and was happy. This time I got the bus hit sandwich and was even happier. The food came out sooo fast. Great place to buy expired food The first time I thought "this has to be a fluke" last month when I was flying to Boston I bought a chocolate chip scone. I took one bite and it tasted terrible. Then I checked the sticker and it had expired EIGHT DAYS before!!! That's disgusting - especially since I paid $8 for it and tipped. Today, a month later, im flying to Boston again. I saw a sign for sandwiches by the counter and assuming they were made fresh I bought one. Nope- they let me know to grab it out of the cooler. The sandwich, which was $14, was "best by 6/23...yesterday!" Gross! Imagine how old the prepared food must be! One time could have been a mistake- but 2x in a row???? These people obviously don't give a crap. Sad- not only is this gross and unacceptable- it's also violating health code . After the owners response I'm filing a complaint with the health department and letting them decide if it's fine to store items over 2 weeks after they have expired as the owner thinks it's fine to do. I contacted the asheville pie company who makes their baked goods and they were extremely apologetic and embarrassed (not their fault) and agree expired baked goods of theirs should not be sold past their "best by" date. Their baker chimed in that scones in particular should only be sold for 5 days after being made and cookies and other baked goods for three days.. So they confirmed that I had actually eaten a scone almost 2 full weeks after it was made which is awful. Cooling them doesn't extend their shelf life and the baked goods display counter is not cooled at the airport anyhow Furthermore- the scone tasted disgusting and stale ...so clearly selling expired food isn't working out. So incredibly cheap at the expense of public health. read more

Ordered a grilled cheese and a Tomato Bisque soup. The grilled cheese and tomato bisque were good, and there is a place to sit. Service was reasonably fast. The only thing that is confusing is how to order to-go. I thought I was in line to order food to sit down with but it turned out that I was at the To-Go only counter. Had to send the chicken tenders back because they are more like some "meat" foam and not even meat! Got a salad and then it was rotten! Look out for SLIMY rotten lettuce in your salad! I got lunch from their quick-serve counter when I flew into Asheville and bought some chocolates from the gift shop when flying out. Both times, the staff were the friendliest, most enthusiastic workers I've ever seen at an airport cafe. I had the Pimento Sandwich, a Lemon Oatmeal Bar, and a Spiced Chai Latte. I really liked the sandwich, the cheese and pepper filling was different from anything I've tried before. The bread had been pressed and grilled but the sandwich was packaged and served cold. Even though it was great as it was, I would've loved to see what it was like warm and freshly pressed. The lemon bar and chai were also really good. I liked the oatmeal crust on the lemon bar more than the standard shortbread-crusted lemon bar - I found it more well-rounded. The chai was pleasantly spicy and I was happy that I could get it with almond milk. They also have a Vanilla Chai, which the barista told me is sweeter. From the gift shop I got an assorted 4-pack of Timothy Maguire chocolates. I'm still working on finishing them, but so far they're delicious. It was nice to see the local flair to the items in the gift shop! read more

I had to spend almost 24 hours at the Asheville airport due to Deltas computer issues, so I had several meals at the Blue Ridge Tavern. The airport is not that large with limited food options, so if you're expecting five star restaurant quality food, you'll be disappointed. But the food was good, and more importantly, the staff and service were outstanding. Both the servers I had were beyond courteous and pleasant and made my dining experiences a glad respite from the stress of my flight cancellations and trying to get new flights home. I don't usually fly in and out of Asheville but when I do I stop into Blue Ridge Tavern because the staff is amazing: the food and drink is great and Meredith, Brandon, and Olivia will give you the skinny on what to do locally in addition to great service! The former is just a fringe benefit because they are too Awesome!!!! My first time in this city and thanks to them I'm equipped to have a stellar weekend! It will be epic, I'm sure thanks to them! Food was mediocre and obviously pricy because it's at an airport. Cool to have windows right next to the gates so you can watch planes coming in and out. The second star is for them having a souvenir shop attached. The bartender (lady) was rude. Never greeted me.. seemed aggravated when I asked for a menu. Then persisted to take the order of a couple who came after me. Not sure what that was about. The only difference between me and the couple was color. Not insinuating anything I'm just saying not sure why she asked their drink order first when she saw I was the only new patron at the bar for a few mins. I decided to leave and not order anything. Its hard for to patronize if I don't feel welcomed. Once I saw the reviews I felt I would be even more disappointed. Can't take both rude service AND overpriced bad food. This place is in the Asheville airport and is a great place to grab a drink and get some food while waiting to board your flight. The homemade chips tasted amazing and very crunchy and the perfect amount of salt. The rest of the food was ok but satisfying. Our server, Zach, was wonderful! Had the salad which was $16. It hardly came with any lettuce and looks NOTHING like the pictures so beware because you get a better salad at a fast food drive thru. The chicken was so dry it was inedible and I literally had to spit it out. Total waste of money. Don't do it. Your only sit down choice after security in Asheville but despite the lack of competition surprisingly good. I don't drink but they had a huge bar area that appears to be well stocked as well as numerous beer selections. My wife had a chicken quesadilla and I had a pulled pork sandwich. My wife's was overall quite tasty but for the price the portion size was definitely small. My pulled pork sandwich was on a very side and fresh brioche bun. The sauce was excellent good flavor but not overpowering. The pork itself was tender and tasty, not too fatty. The slaw to accompany it on the side or on top seemed to be standard pre made slaw but still had decent taste. Our server Marc was excellent. Despite appearing to be the only server that I could see the attention was excellent. Food came out hot and fast and bill came quickly as well. Although you really have no other options in Asheville this is definitely a good stop to get a bite. read more

It's not just a tavern. This is the coffee bar, restaurant, tavern and gift shop all rolled into one. My experience was at the coffee bar. I ordered a chai latte. I don't expect it will be great, but I certainly did not expect it to be coffee! I cannot drink coffee. The taste is vile to me and I can throw up from it. When I order a tea (and chai is tea), I expect tea. Not coffee. And then to be told, "Our chai is coffee" is unacceptable. I have contacted the corporate office of The Paradies Shops and am waiting for their response. read more
