Visiting from out-of-town and came across this restaurant while passing through, so we decided to give it a try. The building is quite spacious with separate taproom/bar area, dining area and ample seating. Some artwork adorned the walls on inside & outside of building. We tried to beat the dinner rush and arrived before 5pm on a Saturday. Business offers counter service ordering with table number/delivery. We ordered 2 sliced brisket plates [sides were baked beans & smoky potato salad and jalapeño cheese grits (heads up diced jalapeños are crunchy/raw) & mashed sweet potatoes], pulled pork sandwich w/chips & pulled chicken sandwich w/chips. Meals arrived promptly. Customers have choice of 4 sauces: spicy jalapeño (green), mustard bbq (yellow), spicy vinegar and sweet tomato. Husband raved about brisket and the kids enjoyed their sandwiches. Brisket is available until they sell out--and I would probably order brisket w/o raw onion topper. Staff were pleasant, friendly, efficient, and appear to take pride in their jobs. Down side is they do not offer french fries as a side and we didn't imbibe in adult beverages. Highly recommend you check them out!

Awesome place! Great "naked" ribs and sauces to try. Also very good beer and fun dog friendly patio.

Great beer and bbq. The pork was my favorite. We got some beer and sat out on the patio. Food came hot and in a short amount of time.

You would have never guessed it's this big from the outside when you're inside. It's like a huge garage with beer and the smoke from the BBQ! The atmosphere is perfect if you're visiting by yourself but you want good food and cold beer. Came here during St. Patty's day and to be honest, although it looked busy, it was still comfortable. I sat in the bar and was attended to immediately. I ordered a pint if the Stay Golden (light lager) and it's everything you want in a lager. Crisp, bubbly and hoppy. Not too hoppy though. $5 a pint so it's worth the price. Their bar chairs are so comfy that you can lean back and feel like you're sitting in your own living room. The music is definitely my taste, indie rock. They also have tv's to keep you occupied. What I really love is the decor. They have a turn table on the wall that changes every 5-minute ish. It changes to famous quotes that are witty but inspirational. I wish I had one in my living room. They also have a huge selection of beer that's meant for every taste bud so it's well rounded for all your friends and family. Love this place, love the staff. * Also, you can also order from your place, pay on your phone and they'll bring the food to you! Just look for the QR code on your table or place at the bar (they have specific numbers), and you'll have food delivered to you!

Fantastic local brewery with something for everyone on top. Got a flight and loved each one. The ginger beer (Ginger's Revenge) is a must try, as well as the peanut butter porter (works every time) AND the imperial stout (punks & poets). The layers of flavor and richness will make you savor every sip. I had the English pub ale (cheeky gander) which was nice too. Really, solid flight all around. Place is family friend, kid friendly, dog friendly. And friendly friendly lol-- because the service was top notch. We ordered food from the smoke house and ate it in the brewery. It was perfect after a day of hiking in Pisgah. Would definitely come back.

We were in town for a long weekend and saw that a peanut butter porter was to be releases at 12 bones. I pride myself on being a porter and stout girl, so I was all about it. While I was not the biggest fan of the release, I was a huge fan of their patience level and kindness of the staff. I swear I likely tasted everything they had on draft and ended up with a kolsch. The beers were fine. Asheville is known for breweries and taste is subjective. This place definitely set itself apart with the customer service. Hats off to the manager and team.

I got a tip that the Obama's insist on hitting up 12 Bones when in town so I made a point to check out their Arden location as it was close to the place I was staying. We went on the later side for dinner, ordered at the counter, and sat over in the brewery side. I was really hoping for brisket, but they had already sold the last of it for the night. I knew I also wanted to try the ribs so we got a platter with some sides, a thing of hash, and then ordered the bacon from the brewery side along with a couple beers. Everything was great and I'd have to say those are the best ribs I've ever had in a restaurant. Check out the sauce buffett too and try them all. The bacon was a fun side so make sure to check out the small brewery snacks as well. Plus the beers were all great. I even ended up buying a hat which has become a new favorite. I can't wait to come back and try the brisket or maybe stop in on one of the other locations.

    Beer flight!

Great brewery for the chill vibe and nice beer selection! There's two main rooms and you might not realize it unless you use the bathroom (which is in-between the rooms). One side seems cozier and has a flash board above the beer menu that rotates funny beer-related sayings. There is surely a beer to please everyone since they seem to have every beer style. Starting out with a flight seems a good way to go. I'm a hop-forward beer drinker so I enjoyed the All Disco No Panic hazy IPA and the Coastin' IPA. The Hop Shower Sour is a nice too. The Mixtape Flashback is an easy drinking Hefeweizen. The beer names are creative and fun! The also have nice merch, cool t-shirts and beanies.

12 Bones Brewing is connected to 12 Bones Smokehouse South. My friends and I stopped in to check out the beers and to grab a small bite to eat (you can sit in the brewery section and they will bring the food over). I did a flight, you get to choose 4 beers. I selected the Lyon in the Fog (Juicy IPA), Coastin' (West Coast IPA), Hop Shower Sour (Imperial Sour) and Kids These Days (Hefeweizen). The staff members were friendly and the beer was good but I didn't have a beer that stood out to me as a favorite.

So my wife and I stopped in for some beers and food, the food you have to walk around to the front of the building to order but they deliver it to you and it's some killer BBQ. The set up is pretty cool here. I had the faded flannel and the fairly lively. They were pretty dang good. They also had some sour and seltzer options for my wife who isn't big on beer beer and only goes for the Spurs, ciders, and fruity kinda stuff. The staff were pretty cool and made good suggestions for what we should try, and offered samples before we decided.

My fiance and I met our friend here for a couple of drinks before a movie, and while we weren't able to really sample the whole menu since we were in after 4pm, we loved what we had. I like the concept that you can take your 'takeaway' into the back and still sit down, while still sipping on some brews. Atmosphere is fun, food is tasty, and the beer is even better. Can't wait to be back again!

We stopped for a beer and a snack and ended up sharing a rack of ribs and wings. Both fantastic with some great sauce choices.

Service is ridiculous when you have to go a long way and pick it up. Also, the food isn't even worth the travel. Yuck!

There are even alcohol-free beers. And other soft drinks. So your designated driver won't feel too deprived. The noise level is quite high in the tap room. Weather permitting there is outside seating, but the menu outside is limited. There is preferred parking near the entrance for zero or low emission vehicles. Unfortunately, the electric vehicle charging ports are no longer in this location. The parking staff said the chargers are in a remote parking area. Never did find them, but fortunately did not need them. We arrived on Sunday around 1 pm and there was no wait. They do activate a waiting list when needed that you can get on as you drive there. Very few reservations are available. Maybe for large groups. But don't worry, they have a lot of seating and the tables turn over readily.

We came on a Tuesday afternoon after hitting a couple breweries in the Mills River area . The area that the taproom in is really beautiful with mature trees and it's a huge facility . We parked and walked inside and headed to the bar. I got a flight and my boyfriend got an IPA. I thought the beers were really good and I liked that there was some that you couldn't find anywhere else . We also ordered some duck fries that were so dang good . As we waited for our food , we went to do a self tour of the brewery and that was great to see the history of Sierra Nevada and the different rooms that the processing occurred in. After our food we cashed out and took the remainder of our beers to their outdoor area . Once you pass by their amphitheater you went down this trail towards a little river and we went farther still and there was this whole field of yard games and tables that you could sit and enjoy right next to the rushing river (French Broad River) . All the staff that we encountered with was very nice and knowledgeable. Just a really fun atmosphere to be in where even the staff looked like they were enjoying themselves . I would highly highly recommend stopping in!
